The food and drinks are consistently excellent, and several members of the staff always provide wonderful service. I especially want to recognize the manager, Top. Every time we visit, she is incredibly welcoming, accommodating, and always upbeat. You can genuinely tell that she enjoys what she does and takes pride in creating a great experience for her guests. Her professionalism, kindness, and positive personality are a huge part of the reason my husband and I have started visiting even more often. Pappasito's Cantina was the restaurant of choice for our Mexican grindages. Upon arriving at Pappasito's Cantina, the restaurant was packed! The wait time for our party was minimum, and upon being seated it took quite awhile before someone showed up to drop off menus. Once menu's were dropped off, drink orders were taken, then our food orders. Upon looking over the extensive menu, I ended ordering the Chicken Fajita Flautas ($19.95), and the meal came with rice & beans. What can I say about the meal? My Chicken Fajita Flautas was excellent! That rolled up Chicken Fajita Flautas was loaded with meat & the queso, guacamole, & sour cream complimented the meal. The complimentary chips & salsa was also excellent! The chips were light tasting, and they were very generous with the salsa. Overall, a wonderful meal. As for service, I fould it kinda weird that they didn't bring out all the food at once for our party. Some folks got their food, while others were still waiting to get their food order. Had to wait for tortillas several minutes after the fajitas came out. Requested hotter than normal salsa and what I received was fire, everyone at the table really enjoyed it and most people didn't even know it was an option. Restaurant is laid out well and clean. We weren't in a hurry but there were some meaningful disappearances in the "show" called going to a restaurant. So much so that it likely distracted from everything else. We had a margarita. And we waited. Then we had chips and queso. With a wait. Then I got the chicken fajitas with another wait. Then we waited a long time while the waiter made us wait. I simply can't enough of their fajitas. I live up North and every chance I can get to go to Pappasito's in Texas I do. It's been a few years and I was craving for the table side guacamole. THEY ARE NOT PROVIDING THAT AMAZING DISH TABLE SIDE ANYMORE. I did ask if we could face time with the chef while he made it. But that didn't happen. I lived in Texas in the mid eighties when I first was introduced to this fabulous restaurant. Haven't had a better fajitas anywhere and I probably won't. Great atmosphere. We were visiting family in North Texas and had a 2 1/2-hour drive to the airport before our flight home. After the long drive, we were starving, and this restaurant was close to our hotel. We figured one last Tex-Mex meal before leaving Texas sounded like the perfect way to end the trip. I'll use the "sandwich method" for this review. To start with the positive, the host was incredibly kind and graciously seated us right away after mentioning he had a cancellation. Our waitress was friendly, funny, and clearly took pride in the restaurant. When she learned it was our first visit, she enthusiastically walked us through the menu and shared her recommendations. Unfortunately, that's where things started to go downhill. She brought us chips and then informed us the restaurant was out of salsa. A Mexican restaurant out of salsa? That was surprising. She did bring us complimentary queso, which was appreciated, but it tasted like melted Velveeta with a spoonful of pico de gallo on top. She mentioned the salsa would be ready in about five minutes, but it never arrived. I also ordered a spicy margarita, but it was mostly a glass of ice with a single jalapeño slice floating in it. It wasn't spicy at all. The biggest issue, however, involved my 11-year-old daughter. She ordered the waitress's recommended watermelon mint lemonade for $8. Normally she would've taken a sip immediately, but we had to remind the staff that our drinks hadn't arrived, and by the time they did, our food was already on the table, so she started eating instead. About five minutes later, the waitress came back and asked whether my daughter had tried the drink yet. Thankfully, she hadn't. The waitress then asked if either my husband or I could taste it. My husband did and immediately realized it contained alcohol. The waitress explained that the bartender had just discovered he had made the wrong drink. She brought out a replacement, but by then my daughter was too nervous to drink it. The waitress laughed the situation off, seemingly unaware of how serious it was. My daughter became genuinely upset and kept asking if kids could die from accidentally drinking alcohol. It was heartbreaking that an 11-year-old understood the seriousness of the mistake more than the staff appeared to. To end on a positive note, the food itself was decent. It wasn't memorable, but it was good enough, and probably the best part of the meal. What disappointed me most was how the situation was handled afterward. We received no meaningful apology, no manager came by to check on us, and they didn't even offer to remove the incorrect drink from the bill or make any effort to recover from such a significant mistake. I was too exhausted from traveling to argue, but serving an alcoholic beverage to a child is a serious error. I left feeling far more disappointed by the response than by the mistake itself. read more

Great food with amazing people! Came here for dinner to celebrate my birthday and had a wonderful time! Our waitress was attentive, knowledgeable of the menu, and friendly. I started out with a guacamole (made simple) and a margarita. Both items were delicious and started the meal off right! We had excellent service with Mimi this last Sunday. It was the Labor Day Weekend and they were short several servers. But she did the best she could and took care of us. Pappasito's on Lombardy is next to several other Pappa's restaurants. The atmosphere is very casual. Despite the being short, Mimi got to us as fast as she could. We ordered the Tortilla Soup with added Chicken and Avocado. It was a perfect blend of vegetables and spices with out having too much tortilla flour in it. We also split the Chicken and Beef Fajitas. We had to pay extra for the Cheese and Sour Cream but I think this is becoming the norm now. You could taste the fact that the meat was grilled on mesquite chips. The only thing that was lacking is that they did not have a very spicy habanero sauce. Mimi even brought us a single scoop of the delicious Fried Ice Cream. They have a Fajita Wednesday with reduce prices but Mimi told us that the place is packed. I would probably avoid that day despite the deal. We will definitely come back again. read more

This restaurant looks very nice on the inside and out. Mexican decor done very well! We asked for a booth and we were seated in the bar area which was fine. I believe that booths are in the bar area only. Our waitress was so good and was always available for refills on salsa and chips. The salsa was superb! It was so good that I took some home to my husband with chips. I ordered the plate with the beef fajitas, shrimp and sausage with rice and beans. Now I will add that the beans and rice were just Meh. This is my third visit to Pappasito's and I can honestly say that I'm a big fan of the quality and taste of the meals being served. Very spacious location with plenty of seating . The ambiance and chill vibes here make this place a nice place to dine with family or friends . The meals don't take long to come out and the customer service makes sure you are always well taken care of . I took the Plato Mariachi for a spin and it tasted great! Everything in the Tulum was delicious, but I will say I didn't love the chicken fajita. It ended up just being a plain unseasoned slice of chicken breast in a tortilla. I had to scoop up plenty of guac and salsa to give it some flavor in each bite. But the enchilada and tamale were delicious, so much flavor and nothing overly spicy which I prefer. Ended up being two whole meals for me. My boyfriend also had no complaints about his Reynosa combination and ate it all in one sitting. The peachy sangria was sweet and not overly strong. My least favorite part was probably the free salsa that comes with the chips, a little too watered down for my taste but can't complain since it's complementary. This place is just ok. Portions are very large, but the actual food and service could be better. The Fajita Quesadilla was very garlic heavy and almost tasted like garlic bread. And the presentation of the food was messy. Overall, this is a good place to have a filling meal, but not the best Mexican food. The service was also very erratic. We had friendly service at first, but after the initial encounter, our server was never available anymore and we had to keep asking multiple other people for stuff that were not even our server. Then one lady came by and asked if we needed anything, which we didn't at that time, but then when we actually needed something, she would always look away or act just so that we had to physically get up and ask someone for help. I can't even begin to speculate what was causing the odor, but it was throughout the entire restaurant and I've never experience anything like it. In fact, the first comment I made when entering the building was regarding the smell. Several members in my party also made comments, it was truly hard to try to even eat or describe in words. I will say the food for great, but I will never get over that experience as I had to stand in the bathroom to get a break from it. It was due to them sitting there for an extended period of time. Anywho, I had my favorite drink, a frozen watermelon margarita. Being the light weight that I am, one is always more than enough. I also got some shrimp brochette. The bacon was a bit salty but good nonetheless. BFF had a Long Island which she said was very good, and the seafood enchiladas.
