The two stars are for the service. The waitress was amazing, she was attentive, super sweet, and one of the nurses had on a great costume from the Matilda movie (the gym teacher, can't remember the name lol) i ordered tacos and a margarita. Let's start with the space...
The space was small. They had outdoor seating, and a few tables inside. We choose to sit inside because it was cold outside that day. The restaurant was decorated nicely. We went on Halloween, so it was decorated for the day of the dead. Super cute decor.
The food and drinks-- the margarita was $8, and tbh it wasn't good. I think it was pre-mixed. (Which sucks). It had little to no tequila in the margarita. It literally tasted like limeade. My cousin ordered a pineapple margarita, and her margarita was the same. Sweet like juice. No taste of alcohol. At all! So, that was a huge miss for me. They give you chips in a bag, and salsa in a to go container (due to covid) the chips were good, still warm in a bag, and the salsa was good too. Mild with a hint of spice, great.
The tacos, omg! Now, i absolutely love tacos lol. I'm sure i eat tacos more than any other food. So, i specifically chose this place from Yelp, it had a 4 star review, and i really wanted authentic Mexican tacos. But, Yelp did me wrong. lol. I ordered two crispy shell carnitas tacos, authentic style with cilantro, onions, radishes, and it came with Mexican onions. I also ordered al pastor tacos. They each come 2 to an order, and it was about 6.50 for the carnitas and maybe $8 for the al pastor. They give you a check off list for how you would like your tacos, which was cool. They have pencils and sheets at the table. I was very disappointed in the tacos. Very disappointed! First, they came messy. I absolutely hate when i order crispy shell tacos and they load the crispy shell with lots of wet items on top of them! So i was left with a wet shell on one end because instead of them standing the tacos up on the plate, they laid it down. So all the juice from the meat and the salsa made the tacos fall apart as soon as you picked it up to eat it (sooo annoying!)
The flavor was meh -_- maybe I'm spoiled by living in nyc and we have access to bomb ass tacos at anytime of day.. but i was highly disappointed here. All in all, I'll give them 3 stars because although it wasn't horrible, it wasn't at all what i expected it to be.
Now that I'm back in Brooklyn, the first thing I'm planning to do is find a bk taco truck for real authentic Mexican tacos . See pics below read more
