My friends come here often on the weekend and really love it. They decided to come on a Wednesday because the deals are good and there's a wheel you can spin for specials. So I tagged along and of course I checked in. There was an offer for one free shooter when you check in. I showed it to the bartender and he said "We don't accept coupons, never have never will." I asked why they put it on Yelp if they don't accept it. He said "Yelp just puts stuff up there without asking." This is the only time I've never had an issue using one of the Yelp offers. The bartender's attitude was super off putting about it too which was the worst part. Aside from this he was actually really cool and did ask if we had any music requests. Atmosphere here was good and there were spots back towards the restroom to stand for a second if you wanted to drink your drink. The problem is there's no limit for how many people they'll let in some times and the overcrowding causes issues. I'm pretty sure that I'm being stood up by my date tonight, but figure I might as well use the time productively and write a review while here. There aren't many people here currently as it's a Wednesday evening but the music is still on point and Chynna, the bar tender, has been awesome. Super friendly, supper attentive (not that there's anyone fighting for her attention currently), and overall it's not a bad place to be stood up. On other nights I've been here it's been crowded and full of people dancing to all their pop-pink-alt-rock favorites. From Backstreet Boys to Linkin Park- love their music rotation and vibe. read more

I don't know where to even start with this place! First of all, love the atmosphere. Incredible regulars at this spot, and I really got a feel for the place when I went to use the restroom and three guys left at once, wiping down a piece of metal attached to the door with "coke ledge" written above it in sharpie. As a huge fan of cocaine, I was glad to see my drug of choice would be acceptable for the bar. However, what REALLY puts The Rockwell over the top is it's decor, specifically the four enormous screens that had erotic Pokémon fan art projected on to them. You heard me right, full wall-sized displays of my favorite kind of art, erotic Pokémon fan art. You see, when I'm out with my friends, high on cocaine, there is NOTHING I want to see more than 7 foot high Pokémon with enormous breasts, and this bar truly understands that. So, if you're like me, I can't recommend the Rockwell enough. Great drinks, great prices, great people, great coke, great gigantic wall-to-wall cartoon monster erotica. The whole package! read more

One of the coolest bars I have been to in a long time. So cool we went twice in one day. The wall is covered in sturdy projection screens with rotating artwork displayed. The art changes every few minutes, giving you a mix of classic art, photography, and digital designs, some of which move. Occasionally all the pieces will match, such as an entire cityscape wrapping around the entire establishment. It's an incredible sight. The lighting is very dark, even during the day, so the light level depends on the art. You get a beautiful mix of colors. Ok, now, we started out popping in around 5 for Saturday happy hour. Cheap beer and rails, maybe the best deal around. Plus, you can sit at the bar comfortably, with only a handful of people millimg around at a time. It was very comfortable amd was a great experience. We came back around 11. It had a crazy club atmosphere at night, with a DJ spinning 90s/00s rock. The crowd at night, in complete contrast to the chill daytime crowd, was ridiculously drunk. It's all dancing but gets very tight. I'm talking tons of people. That might be your thing, and there was a time when I would have agreed, but we were a bit turned off by how drunk the people were and left around midnight. Still, any time I'm in Fells Point midday, I am making a bee line for this spot. Check it out. read more

This is a fun place! I was surprised that it wasn't an overprice "rock" bar in Fells but more like a place with Weezer and early 2000's hits. Everyone in the bar gets into the music and really makes the atmosphere a good time. The art on the walls is pretty stellar and keeps you intrigued. A lot of the reviews are spot on but I will say they treat my friends birthday like she was paying for bottle service. They gave her a few free drinks, Champaign and reserved a good portion of the bar for her. That's not the normal for a Fell's bar, they were great! read more

This place is tight and by tight I do not mean densely-packed. I mean banging, cool, and just awesome! The walls are covered with artwork that are projected out of projectors. There are these cool ball of lights hanging from the ceiling. It a good mixture of bar/club. They have different DJ's on different days. They have this blackboard people can write on and they also have a list of events for the week posted just above the blackboard. The doorman was pretty hilarious. He was very much animated. The entire staff was actually great. This is a pretty good scene for young people. The prices were as expected and music was pretty good too - a little "white" for my taste, but still pretty good and enjoyable. read more

The overall vibe of the bar is great; music kept playing all night but the night took a turn for the worst. They do not have any employees checking in the bathroom as there was a girl passed out in the restroom clearly over served. When the lights came on and I was finishing my corona I told the bouncer I was finishing and walking to the exit a bouncer began to accost me. He physically put his hands on me grabbed me by the wrist and threw me out the door all while calling me an explicit word. This is wildly unacceptable and this establishment is probably use to extremely drunk people but that is not excuse to harm patrons physically as they are finishing up their overpriced beer. read more

Where was this "club" (and I use that sooo loosely) when I was in my early twenties?!? It's everything I would have ever needed on a Friday or Saturday night. However, I absolutely fucking love this place as a now spry thirty something!!! It is a main stay and the very last place we go/take friends visiting when we are in Fells. The people watching of said youngsters and the drunk debauchery that ensues is better than any reality tv show on bravo to date! We love the dance party and the occasional throw back songs to the early 2000's. It's not a successful night unless we leave sweaty, a drink or two spilled on us and our shoes sticking to the ground as we walk out. Waking up the next morning is equally fun with a hangover and the whole body aching. When that happens we know we don't need to go back for a couple of months! But secretly wish we could do it again next weekend! read more

This place is SO much fun! The soundtrack mainly consists of throwback punk songs, which are accompanied by a live drummer; something I've never experienced before. I normally wouldn't enjoy that excessive level of noise, but the atmosphere alludes to the whole idea of being at a band's show, so it works! There's a photobooth (which I think is a fantastic way to get that additional revenue), and it's a decently sized bar. There's the main bar and then there's a mini bar at the back, by the restrooms. The drinks are well mixed and the prices are standard for the Fells Point scene. Be forewarned though; it is jam-packed with dancing, sometimes fairly sweaty bar goers. It's guaranteed that you're going to get rubbed up against and possibly stepped on, but it's worth it. Get there earlier on, as a line tends to form once 11pm strikes. read more

My friends took me here while I was on a weekend trip to Balfomore, and I loved it! So fun. They play a mix of 90s-200s punk rock and top 40s, all accompanied by a live drummer. It was totally fitting for my generation - playing songs I thought I forgot about. It's loud, but that just means no one can really hear you as you sing along. There isn't too much room for dancing, as it was packed on the Saturday night that I came in. But that's to be expected - with the unique style of music here and cool interior. My wife and i usually have a great time at the Rockwell as we are frequent customers. We were there for a couple hours on a Friday night on 10/25/19. My wife wasn't feeling well so we wanted to close our tab. We stood at the bar for about 20 minutes trying to close out our tab so we could go home. We repeatedly tried to get the bartenders attention but he kept ignoring us to serve other patrons drinks. After stating once again to the bar tender that we needed to close out he was extremely rude, exchanged words with me and was dismissive to me and did not let me close my tab. I stepped away and my wife had to find the female bartender who was very receptive and was able to close our tab. I do not usually write reviews but the extreme rudeness demonstrated by this bartender warranted this. It's upsetting as we typically like going here but this bartender turned us off to going here again. read more

This is actually a fun place to hang out. That being said, it's kind of like a Hot Topic bar. Lots of kids (seriously there are some young looking 21 year olds here) trying to be seen, or at least be near whichever bandmate from All Time Low is there that night. It's a good atmosphere, the digital art is rad. The music is either good or bad. I'm not a huge fan of pop punk, but they played All Time Low (shocking) and then Britney Spears. Well, that's fine and good, but if you're trying to come off as a cool new rock n roll bar..I dunno..play some rock and roll? The drinks are decently priced, the bartenders are friendly. I requested Ruby Soho by Rancid & the DJ says "F#@k YEA!" and played it like right away.... how awesome is that?? And it gets a good crowd & people dance to all the sweet punk & ska music. An occasional 80's or ska tune gets mixed in as well.. The drinks are kinda pricey for Bmore but when the music selection is so good you don't really mind. This is the best venue in Baltimore right now and is the closest there is to a DC quality club since Mist went away. Overall I'd say it's a Baltimore 5, so really a 4 compared to other high-end clubs I've seen, particularly that in DC and some other cities I've been to. The design is well thought out, despite the narrow nature of the venue, and the music is a good mix. It can get loud though once they hand the keys over to whoever is DJing that night. The crowd tends to be young girls early one followed by an onslaught of men around 11pm to the point it's impossible to move around the venue. At that point it's best to move on to other bars in the area, but before then it's a great little club. If you've ever been to Tattoo Bar in DC (between Lima and Josephine's), it's very similar to that. read more

The artwork is bangin!! So cool. (Don't get offended if a tittie appears throughout the night though). The changing art is a great conversation piece. 2. Cool place, good atmosphere, music and sound. Has awesome projector artwork that changes throughout the night. Super dynamic and not cheesy. No draught beer, which is a definite turnoff. They supposedly make up for it with craft spirits. I guess they had some bottles I've never seen before but no cocktail menu or signature drinks from what I could see. Great variety of music and the live drummer was a great twist. The bar specials were on the wall with a pretty long happy hour which is normal for Fells. Worth a stop if you are in the area. The only downside is that it's pretty small..not a whole lot of room to dance when your favorite song from high school comes on! read more

Came on a Friday during the Summer - this place is my FAVORITE! The music took me back to my high school days with the alternative 00's! The bartenders are super awesome and make amazing drinks. Try to get there early or be prepared to wait in line. Luckily we got there around 9/9:30 found a seat by the bar and stayed there all night (we did have to wade through to the bathroom, but with the awesome music we just danced our way through).
