Saw this on my IG feed and recs from friends so I made it here after a morning of disc golfing. Arrived here about 30 mins past opening and the line was out the door. After waiting in line for 20 mins my order was placed and waited another 15 mins. It's a small establishment so seating and standing room is limited therefore you'll have to wait outside. The staff is very pleasant and patient so that made the experience a bit better. Orders two Birria Tacos, Mulita and a pineapple Fresca. Once the food arrived, I was so hungry that I didn't really enjoy it as I devoured it within minutes. However the Fresca was delicious and not overly sweet. The Birrias and Mulita was very juicy but not as great as I had at other places in the South Bay. Roughly about $4-6 each for the Birrias and Mulita and the $4 Fresca cost me about $20 for this visit including tips. read more

I hate going out and driving far now that I moved to the boonies but Papi Clary's is an exception. Talk about comfort food. Their food just makes you feel good and it is always consistent plus their staff is always super nice. This time around we tried their Mulita and the Mac and cheese. You just can't go wrong. Everything just tastes good with Birria. The Mulita is like a taco sandwich using 2 crunchy tortilla to hold everything together. It has a lot of birria, cheese, quac, onions and cilantro and it comes with a side of lime and spicy salsa. That was so good. New fave! read more

Love this place! I've tried everything birria! The birria ramen with cheese is phenomenal and it helped me when I had my cold/ cough. They also offer birria lumpia which I didn't know was a thing. This place is a hidden gem! I got the Chicken Sando with fries and a quesabirria. My friend got the birria fries that were so good! Everything was very flavorful and tasted fresh. I loved the coleslaw and sauce on the sandwich! It is up there for one of the best in the Bay. The only reason this is not a 5 star review is because they didn't have the specials listed anywhere in the shop and the process for getting utensils and picking up your food was a little confusing. I have been waiting to try Claryzza's food for over a year. I followed her Instagram since a good friend of mine told me about her. She used to cook out of her house in Bay Point which unfortunately was wayyy too far for me to drive and by the time I'd get there I knew it would be sold out so hearing that she opened a restaurant in Concord made my entire day. Finally I was able to go and let me tell you I was BLOWN AWAY by the SPICY CHICKEN SANDWICH !! I knew it was going to be good but I had No idea it would be THAT GOOD. This is coming from someone who doesn't ever eat meat, is grain free (due to allergy) and eats mostly gluten free. And before u ask (yes the stomach pain for the day was completely worth it and I would do it again just for her food) . Came in for the garlic noodles and prawns special and for the strawberry Dubai chocolate. We ended up getting that AND some quesabirrias and a mulita and an ube horchata . The food was alright. The birria didn't taste like authentic Mexican birria but it was still very good. The mulita and quesabirrias were nice and crunchy but lacked a little flavor. However the green avocado salsa helped it out. The garlic noodles were very sweet but the prawns were good. The dubai cup was a solid 6/10. The pistachio cream was a little on the bitter side and the crunchy thing had a different texture to it. It did look a little funky and not too appetizing but overall was okay. My biggest problem was the wait and the speed of service. I had to wait 10+ min for some utensils and my food was semi cold at that point and there was a long line as well to get some more sauce. The food took probably 30 minutes or so to come out. They have a high counter where you pick up the food, which doesn't help those who are not that tall. I ordered their birria fries which were delicioussss. but where I take off stars is their dubai strawberry cups and the wait. I wanted to love the cups as they were the main thing I was going for. I only got the fries bc I got hungry from my drive, but the chocolate they use for the dubai cups was not good at all. No one at home liked it either. 0 stars if I never got anything else. To add, the large cup of strawberries was more than the fries. I think that's crazy... I waited 30 mins total to get my strawberries when my food was done in 15 :/ I get being made to order but 30 minutes is a lot. I came here during the first few weeks of Papi Clary's opening up and was surprised to find myself looking at a delightful menu featuring some of my favorites -- chicken sandwiches and tacos (especially birria). I was excited to support a new local business, and was happier to hear some staff speaking Tagalog (I didn't think this would be Filipino ran)! As a Filipina myself, I'm always happy to hear about others in my community who explore and go into culinary ventures. I eagerly ordered the chicken sandwich and birria tacos. The chicken sandwich was an excellent size packed with crispiness and was also well seasoned. While it's advertised as spicy, it didn't seem that way to me (but I have to admit that I have a high spice tolerance so often times my input around spicy foods may not match up to those with differing taste buds). I have to note that the slaw used in the sandwich was delicious! While the birria tacos didn't meet the standards I have for places like El Patron, it was still tasty and left a cleaner feeling for me after the meal, which I appreciate. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed by the birria tacos.. I'm conflicted because I really wanted to like it and support a local business, but the birria tacos just didn't meet the expectations I was hoping for. They're really small, like street tacos.. I think you're better off going to a traditional taco place for if you're trying the birrra tacos. The consome/broth was good though, but the taco is so small and soggy that it was hard to even dip it.. after reading some reviews, maybe I was supposed to get the Mulita. Just pretty confused, I asked for quesabirria, and they said they don't do that but they can still add cheese to my tacos. I'm assuming the Mulita is the their crispy version of birria tacos.. I like El Patron or even Carnes Jalisco better than this place.. My friend for the chicken sandwich and that looked really good. I think next time I'll try for the chicken sandwich. Besides that I'll continue to come here and try their food. We heard about this casual place from IG so decided to check it out. We were worried that the line was going to be long as we've heard the wait could be a while, but there wasn't anyone there on a rainy Sunday afternoon! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. There's not much seating area so I can definitely see it getting crowded quickly on other days. I ended up trying the birria taco and the birria ramen. My wife, cousin, and my cousin's wife got the birria grilled cheese and birria mac and cheese. We were hoping to try their surf and turf nacho special, but they didn't have that anymore. I loved my birria taco. My birria ramen was great as well and full of flavor. My wife and cousin thought the grilled cheese and mac and cheese were only okay, but thought it was a little better once they asked for the consomme on the side. We will definitely go back again to try their birria fries, chicken sandwich, and hopefully some of their specials. Upon learning about their business and that it was family owned- I decided to order some taco's one night when my wife was away. They were super good! Ive been following this place on instagram for a while now and finally went in to grab some pork adobo (the special of the day) Well lets start by saying maybe dont believe everything you see on instagram lol the photo they shared and what they produce are not the same. Now when I've had adobo in the past it looks like what they served me, so its legit. The taste of the adobo was great, very tender and flavorful. But you shouldn't post a photo saying this is your special today and then serve something that looks entirely different, like not even close lol and from the looks of other reviews, this happens with the chicken sandwich too. To top it off both plates had hard/crunchy rice, which is just such a bummer to bite into bite after bite. The dish came topped with green onions but didnt come with any like sauces (like a vinegar sauce or banana sauce) so after a few bites the taste becomes repetitive. Birria Grilled Cheese with a side of fries: The birria grilled cheese was to die for. crunchy, cheese, toasted bread filled with moderate cheese and filled with a good amount of birria. The side of consume hit the spot. This was very good! Crunch fries were worth it , ordered separately, not included. I also ate the fries, quick, LOL. super filling, did not eat all the grilled cheese because it is huge! warm it up in the oven or air fryer the next day and it is so good!! Birria & hot chicken sandwiches. Not a combo I've seen anywhere else. Location is dodgy, not in the best part of Concord, and interior looks pretty bare bones, with an unusual counter height. That would all be fine if the food was the bomb, like some of the reviewers claim. Chicken sandwich wasn't really spicy and had too much mayo and slaw and no pickles. Instead of a big chicken chunk, crispy and breaded, there were two breast patties with a little breading on it. Birria tacos were okay, but nothing like quessabirria/red tacos I was expecting. These are more like regular tacos:tortilla, meat, onion+cilantro. I won't discuss why someone might like the food at Papi Clary, but it's definitely not my cup of tea. Took a leap and oh my ... we were not disappointed. This was our first time. I was greeted by friendly staff. Upbeat and great music playing. I ordered (2) spicy chicken sliders and the day's special, Shrimp chow fun. The spicy chicken slider was the BEST I have had. Spicy (took a minute to hit) and flavorful. Chicken was fresh, tender and crispy even with the slaw. Oh that slaw! What a perfect addition and so tasty. The bun soaked up the juices and it was perfect to the last bite. Now for the chow fun. The dish was tasty, flavorful and lots of shrimp. I am not a fan of ginger, there were julienne slivers, so it definitely had ginger taste. It was a little wetter than I like but all in all it was better than I expected and would buy it again. So glad I stopped in. Will surely be back and try other items on the menu. Oh, and the Ube horchata was good. Good amount of Ube blended well with horchata. It was a bit on the sweeter side for me but it was "fine" for my teenage son, he drank it all.
