Nacatame (10)
Victor G.

El Centro Americano opened where Asia Express once was. Inside dining only. There's also chips, condiments, and snacks available. Seated soon after I entered, given a menu. Waitress came eventually to take my order. 30 minutes later, food arrived. Didn't look busy before I got food. Take out orders? Offerings. (Salvadorean & Nicagaquan): appetizers, pupusas. Seafood, plates, soups, desserts, breakfast, drinks, & desserts. Bites : Nacatamales (10) enormous one -probably made to order, took 30 minutes. -didn't see cabbage salad nor sour cream that was listed on menu. -wrapped in banana leaf. Had pretty of tasty masa. No doubt due to lard usuage. -had moist pieces of chicken, tomatoes, onions, and moist potato pieces. yummy. Haven't had for a decade? Not too many Nicaraguan eateries around. 3.5 Stars semi-worthy:,YMMV. Service: no check-ins. Quantiy: reasonable. Quality: freshly good to orders tasted fresh. Doubtful repeat.

Needed my Nica Fix this Easter Weekend. Had to wait a bit for an open table - local families, Fun music in the background with a family owned service atmosphere. Like going over to my tias place. My order today was the Platillo Nica - Grilled Steak & Chicken - Gallo Pinto (Rice& Beans) Fried Plantains - Fried Cheese & Cabbage Salad. I was bummed though .... They ran out of Horchata & Cacao. So I settled for Tamarindo. Lastly - couldn't leave without picking up a loaf of Cheese Bread/Cake. Another great meal! Plan on returning often.

This little Salvadorian-Nicaraguan spot in Concord is such a gem. The food was absolutely amazing -- everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The restaurant itself is cute, tiny, and quaint, which gives it a really cozy feel. The atmosphere was lively and fun, and the service was fantastic. Everyone was friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely a place I'll be coming back to! Forgot to take pictures before we started eating. Plates we got, chicken enchilada, papusa asada, Plato de carne asada, chicken plate, nacatamales ‍‍‍

Amazing little place tucked away in the Food Maxx shopping center, family owned and operated with delicious food - we had a selection of pupusas and ceviche - both fresh and yummy. Perfectly located on our weekly runs to/from Costco. They make their food fresh to order so be prepared to wait 15-20 min for your food - so worth it! They also do DoorDash :)

Plato típico

This has easily become my default comfort establishment. This time around, I ordered the típico plate $25, which included pupusas, pastelitos, fried yuca, chicharron, chicken tamal and an empanada for desert. Enough for 3 meals. Totally worth it

We had a great experience. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. We orders the " Platillo Nica " which is served with grilled steak and grilled chicken, gallo pinto, fried plantain, fried cheese and cabbage salad. The restaurant is clean, and the service was very kind.

Family owned and operated. Easy parking. Tasty food. Made fresh to order. Mom in the kitchen. Daughter speaks great English and took our order and was very delightful. The Papusas combo reminded me of a favourite in SF called Panchitas! The best I've had in this part of town. Will be here weekly to support and enjoy. Overall, this place rocks and like all awesome places. There will be haters talking trash. Thank you ECA!!

Traditional Salpicón plate, Plato de Salpicón

If you're craving authentic Central American flavors, El Centro Americano in Concord, CA is an absolute gem. I ordered the Plato de Salpicón and a Pupusa Combo with rice and beans--both were incredible. The salpicón was fresh, zesty, and perfectly seasoned, paired with fluffy rice, rich refried beans, and a fresh salad that balanced the dish beautifully. The pupusas were cooked to perfection--crispy on the outside, cheesy and savory on the inside, and served with traditional curtido and a flavorful salsa that brought it all together. The portions are generous, the flavors are on point, and you can really taste the love in every bite. Highly recommend this spot for a delicious and satisfying Central American meal!

Carne Asada Estilo Nica

I am so happy that we have a new Central American Restaurant in Concord. The food is so delicious! . I ordered over the phone and the timing was perfect. It was ready when I arrived. The location is also nice. Lots of parking in the huge parking lot which is the same one used by Foodmaxx.

A nice little spot in Concord to enjoy some Salvadoran and Nicaraguan food. Being Nicaraguan myself, I wanted to try the fresco de cacao and carne asada plate with gallopinto and a side of tostones and queso frito, with a little cabbage salad. My wife got the chancho con yuca, which was nice, especially with some chilero for a little kick. The carne asada was definitely on point and delicious. I recommend this place for the clean and pleasant atmosphere, friendly service. They also sell a bunch of snacks, pan dulce, and other Central American products. Including Nicaraguan rosquillas. . Go check it out.

Pupusas and yuca con chicharon are delicious. The aguas frescas were all amazing. Tried results, chicharon con queso. Pupusa de loroco was not bad either.

We loved their red spicy sauce and super crunchy fresh curtido. They are packed into small zip lock bags. I forgot to take photos since I was hungry. This little shop is in the middle of nowhere next to a small auto parts shop and parking is limited. The immediate area is ugly and industrial but the pupusas keep us coming back. Best taken to go. It's not a comfortable spot to eat in. We paid 4 dollars per pupusa to go. Friendly staff. Highly recommended.

My go to is the 3/$12 Revuelta pupusas and the Plantains with the beans . Top tier beans and plantains. I am so glad I found this place. It is very close to my work. I do recommend calling in your order at least 30 minutes before so that it'll be ready for you to pick up. sometimes they do not answer their phone but they will give you a call back. Keep in mind they do not accept tap pay, but they do accept Zelle and Venmo if you need to make a mobile payment. It is small and cozy inside but there are at least 4 tables if you want to dine in. They do have a few tvs if you were there to relax while waiting or out with your family. Being new to the area, this place will definitely be my go to for pupusas.
