By the time I got home my cheesesticks weren't super hot, but a quick zap in the microwave and they were ready to go. I am not a fan of the new pizza sauce cups since it seems smaller but it's probably fresher since they're not the shelf stable ones that come prepackaged. I just ordered here today and loved that they open at 9:30am. I had a huge craving for pizza and this was just the fix. I ordered online and picked it up shortly after. I had no problems and since it was early in the morning, I didn't have to worry about seeing other people. I bought a Groupon for Papa John's and ordered two pizzas given the diverse preferences of my family. When I arrived home and we started to eat, we each had the same sentiment about the pizza. It didn't have the robust flavor we were used to, "tastes like kids birthday party pizza", lacks flavor. I thought maybe it was just the one pizza, but we ordered two and it was the same for each. One The Works specialty pizza, and the other a cheese, half sausage pizza. It was almost as if they changed the recipe in their sauce or something. Later, I received an email survey and debated on completing it but figured why not. I provided the same feedback and asked to be contacted via email. I expected to hear maybe that they did in fact change their recipe recently but instead received an apology and two free pizza vouchers. A week later, we decided to try Papa Johns again and use the two free vouchers only to discover that the vouchers didn't work. I replied to the email and received no response from Papa Johns or Denise K, Assistant General Manager. I did order and pay for two pizzas despite the bad vouchers provided. The pizza tasted about the same. Either way it wasn't what we were used to in ordering Papa Johns. We typically eat a mix of Pizza Hut, Dominos, Boston Pizza, and Papa Johns and haven't had issues with the other three. Papa Johns is typically more costly and has fewer coupons unlike the others but in this case I had the Groupon. If this is the standard for customer service with misleading customers with bad vouchers, then I doubt we will return. There is sufficient competition that if Papa Johns doesn't want our business we can look elsewhere. I am curious if others felt the same about the quality of the pizza deteriorating, or if it's just this location that is doing something different. read more

Called to make a take out order and employee put me on hold for more than 20 minutes. Called back again, got an employee/ or manager. Couldn't take my order because there was "technical issues" he didn't know how to put my order in. He didn't speak well. Stuttered and just didn't know what he was doing. Went in the store and complained and the guy at the front immediately said "uh uh" I "uh uh" spoke with someone on mainland Prior to this, I did speak to someone on the mainland and she couldn't put my order in so directed me straight to the store. Don't ever order through help...I didn't know but a third party takes care of there orders on Yelp called GrubHub...grubhub sucks I called them to see where my order was and gave them my order number...and they lied to me...they said they made it and it's on the way... Got an email for an extra 10 rewards points through this weekend. That, coupled with a code from a friend for a take-out dessert, put us over the edge for a full dinner experience for free. I wouldn't have even thought about it except that I needed something at the craft store across the street. As we passed PJ's, it triggered the Chinese in me and I instructed the partner to redeem our free items on the website (online ordering only for these things) while I shopped. Now I shopped for nearly half an hour, so I expected our order to be ready when we walked in to the location. Not so! I was told that my order was "still on the counter" and it would be another 20-25 minutes until ready. I was instructed to sit on one of the ridiculously high stools by the door until my name was called. Still on the counter? Really? Why wouldn't my order already be in the oven if it were to be ready, per the online confirmation, in 30-45 minutes? Plus, having worked at a pizza place in my school years, I'd say it should take no more than 10 minutes (more like 5-6) to get through the oven baking process. OK, fine, I'll wait in the car. 20 minutes later, I come back and it's still not ready. 1-2 more minutes I'm told. Well, three minutes later, I do walk out of there with my completely free dinner, but no parm cheese packets... I guess I shouldn't complain. It was free and they totally didn't skimp on the cheese. I always go to the Mapunapuna store because they always take care of me. Well, on Mar 23 I called in my take out order and added garlic knots. When I went to pick my order up, the gentleman made bread sticks instead of garlic knots. He apologized and proceded to correct the issue. After a few minutes, I was on my way. Got home and realized, there was NO garlic butter at all on the knots, they were basically just dry pizza bread. I called and he answered the phone. If the departments met a certain goal in their data reports...he would provide the pizza for their department pizza party to celebrate their efforts. AND it was not just any type of pizza such as Costco or Lil' Caesar's BUT pizza from Papa John's He promptly gave his executive assistant his credit card, which she created an online account with Papa John's because it was ingenious to create an online ordering system for their customers especially executive assistants who would have probably had to drive to the location and pick up 14-16 large pizzas and drinks then struggle with it back to the office. The executive assistant was pleased with the online system as well as noting that she was able to place the order a day ahead as well as a specified delivery time. This was so convenient that she faved the past orders and ordered four more times within a three month timeframe because word got around to the other departments that it wasn't just any ole' pizza but Papa John's. The executive assistant also gave a big plus for Papa John's because she noticed the staff and manager (Tyler) is very friendly and helpful with making any last minute changes to the order or delivery time. Speaking of delivery time? Amaaazing! They deliver promptly at the specified time or even before the time requested! Neverthless, despite the fact that the boss now realizes the incentive cost him a pretty penny...Papa John's should be happy to know that one more order has been placed. Papa John's Pizza doesn't make the best pizza on the Island. However, among the three nationally franchised pizza delivery outfits, they certainly make the best. In addition to their appetizing pizza, I really like their online ordering system. It remembers what you previously ordered and allows you to repeat that order the next time you log on with just a couple of clicks. You can even save several orders as favorites. The only flaw with their online ordering system is that I can never remember my password. Okay, technically, I guess, that's not their flaw... Tonight I picked it up on the way home from work and saved the delivery charge/driver tip. However, delivery is usually prompt and efficient. I've never had them deliver a cold pizza. So tonight I decided to order from this place because I didn't have or bring myself dinner at my second job. I ordered for delivery and online, lucky me because I ordered a med the works pizza and 6 piece bbq wings. Delivery was faster than I expected so I was excited but instead of bbq wings i got buffalo wings and I don't like buffalo wings. I work near by and also live near by so this is my go to pizza place. The food is always good and hot. No complaints there. Delivery is usually during the time window they say and I have never had to wait on an order ahead pick up. The problem I have with this location now is safety! For some odd reason they decided to install a wide ramp right in front of the door customers use to enter. There is only 1 way in and 1 way out. My first thought was, maybe this is for disabled people. No, it's not. They built this giant ramp so delivery trucks can back up right in front of the entrance people are going in and out of. What a genius move! A week ago I went in to pick up an order. It was the heart of lunch time, so I'm sure they had a steady flow of customers. One lady came in before I was done paying. While I was juggling 2 pizzas and 4 sodas (no bag or way to carry them except for my hands and no, I'm not an octopus) I pushed the door open with my shoulder. The lady who came in said watch out for the truck. What? I looked up and saw a box truck backing in less than a foot from the partially opened door. The truck had the back up noise but I was so focused on figuring out how to open the door and not drop anything I hadn't noticed. I would like to think I would have seen it after I got the door open, thing is I do not know if I could have opened the door all the way. Now I have to stand there and wait for the driver to back in all the way so I can leave. I have a 30 minute lunch break. So time is of the essence. I should not be trapped in a store because they are having a delivery. The worst part is I could also have been injured or worse. Who ever the design genius is that came up with this idea really needs to rethink this. It is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DANGEROUS!!!!!! It is only a matter of time before someone isn't paying attention and gets hurt, maybe even killed. I shudder to think if there are kids that just run out the door to go to the car. No one would think that a truck is going to back up there. It's not logical. I can say the driver didn't even seem to notice me or care. The workers should be more aware of trucks coming in and give their customers a heads up. Even a sign posted would be a start. If it were me, I would schedule deliveries when they first open up or later in the afternoon. Not during the lunch rush. This is a recipe for disaster and it's only a matter of time before someone gets hurt or worse. Side note.....the side of the building right next to the ramp looks like a driver already hit it. Glad one of their customers wasn't standing there at the time. So again, no problem with the food, workers are nice. I called back at 2315 because I noticed my order was still being "prepared" & got voice machine stating they are closed so I assumed I wasn't getting my food. I was doing good at first happy with the service and then I noticed the ice machine after my kids have been drinking from their soda a large amount of gunk all over the ice dispenser on the inside not the outside which was worse Bacteria and UNSANITARY CLEANING STANDARDS. Carry out online orders are always ready at the estimated time. So convenient. 3. They have a dining area for you to sit and eat AND they have a TV to watch the game or X-Factor :) 4. The staff is always very courteous. They are polite and efficient. 5. Their specials are real deals. Whether it be the Web Wednesday Special or lunch special, it's money saved.
