A friendly recommendation got my family to try bb.q Chicken and we're so happy we did! This location is within a strip mall with descent parking. The restaurant is smaller but it was clean and the cashier was fine. We ordered the Soy Garlic wings(powerful but good), Gang-Jeong(A Must Try) wings plate with rice, a Secret sauce boneless wings mini-plate with Mac salad and fries, Ddeok-Bokki and 2 sides of fried Mandoo. It was a reasonable 10-15 minute wait and the food came out hot and delicious. We paid nearly $80 for our meal so I can't see us becoming regulars but it was worth the try and it'll have a place on our special occasions options list. read more

Good food, good chicken! We definitely ordered too much than we could handle. Prices are also reasonable. Taking one star off because we ordered boneless plates and one of the chicken pieces was basically all bone. Possibly a junk piece of chicken that should've ended up in the trash. Cole slaw was alright, kinda mushy. Mandoo was good and the rice with sauce and furikake was good too. Service was very friendly too. As good as other BB.Q locations! After shopping and walking around the Aloha Stadium swap meet, we were hungry. Yes there are vendors there, but we wanted fried chicken. Yelp spotted two KFC places nearby and BB.Q was one of them. I wanted to try the other place, but a cousin confirmed which was better and said, "We're going to BB.Q Chicken!" Perfect! It's located within a little shopping corner, and had plenty of parking spaces. The location itself was fairly small I'd say, with only about six or seven tables. But overall, the place appeared clean. Ready to order, ready to grub! Even though I knew the menu in my head, I kept staring up at the menu board to see if they've got anything different. I've never seen the Red Chak Chak Wings which apparently is heavily flavored with black peppers and extra chili. Nor have I tried the Butter Crunch Wings, which also seemed interesting. The party I was with were from Texas, and they've never had BB.Q before. So I ordered the regulars: The Golden Original ($19.99), Half and Half Wings ($34.99) with Honey Garlic and Spicy Galbi. And man were they lovin' it! Can beat the original or the honey garlic if you've never been. I have had this place recommended to me so many times and I now understand why. The service is nothing other than fast and thorough, I ordered a 40 pack of boneless wings and fries for a small superbowl get together and it was perfect for the occasion. The honey garlic is by far my favorite and the hot spicy is delicious despite burning my mouth off. They were hot and crispy. I did order and pick up and upon walking into the restaurant it was clear it was not a place to sit down and enjoy a meal due to the many many orders they were lining up for pick up and the tables pushed to the side but that could have been due to the superbowl and a high fluctuation of demand. But if you are looking for a place to pick up wings for yourself or for a party I would recommend this place ten times over. read more

My other half was stationed in Korea for years and was trying to find something similar to their Korean Fried Chicken. He likes wet sauce with "heat". Everywhere we use tried hast had enough heat for him. We decided to try this place on a Saturday night. I read the reviews and it recommended we call in our order. Being that it was dinner time on a weekend, we took that advice seriously. He ordered half/half wings of fire and hot spicy. I got half/half honey garlic and secret sauce. We also got fries and those cheese balls things. We did a phone order, he told us it would be ready in half hour to be picked up. Sooooo glad we called in our order. Initially I only ordered the chicken but I told my bf to see if the fries and cheeseballs were gonna take long... and to order them there. I'm so glad he got the fries and cheeseballs .. they were gooood! Anyway, I waited for my bf to try the wings of fire. It's hard to determine if he enjoyed that first bite because his personality is as dry as a rock. Let's just say he kept eating and eating and his nose started to run a little. I was craving Korean fried chicken and found myself at bb.q Chicken, located in Aiea Shopping Center, right next to Aiea Bowl. We arrived right when it opened at 11 on a weekday and there was only one person ahead of us in line. The restaurant is clean, spacious, and lively with large TVs playing upbeat K-Pop songs and dramas. We were greated by a friendly worker and ordered a full honey garlic wings plate and a full hot spicy wings plate. Each plate came with 6 pieces of wings, furikake rice, mandoo, and mac salad or coleslaw. We waited a quick 20 minutes and recieved our chicken hot and fresh. I don't know if kids nowadays lack work ethic or basic customer service but the guy working the counter didn't greet us or say thank you after ordering and handing us our food but the machine is quick to ask for a tip when you checkout. The largest Korean Fried Chicken franchised chain in the world whose Hawaii location makes the best tasting colon cleanse EVER! Read on and you'll get it. Trying this locations KFC instantly made me wonder how can Korean people in Korea not look like us obese Americans? Looked at pics of bb.q KFC in Malaysia, Singapore and vids direct from South Korea and the chicken didn't look the same. Case in point, the "honey garlic", a type of batter coated crispy chicken, different.. Was this coated multiple times and deep fried repeatedly until the well brined, juicy chicken part inside was cooked? The outer layer is so thick, it doubles the size of the wingettes and drumettes to the point you can't tell them apart. Yes the honey garlic coating is tasty but the coating, even while being crisp, retains so much oil it isn't possible to eat more than two pieces. The "black pepper", more traditional dry dredged, is plenty juicy with a huge amount of black pepper kicking up the mala heat but has been deep fried in oil not to temp. Greasy. Really tasty KFC but so oily that just four pieces resulted in the same number of uhhhh cleanses. Too bad because this could have been a real winner. read more

The fries that came with the sandwich had a crispy coating to it which was really tasty. The chicken sandwich combo meal came out to be around $12 which I thought was a good price for a quality meal. On a recent special holoholo day, the request from the group was to try this place at the recommendations of other friends who love Korean chicken. This is the only location on Oahu, but they have hundreds of locations around the world. It's located in Aiea, at the top of the marketplace, which has its own entrance and plenty of parking outside (same level as the bowling alley). It's very modern inside, with digital menus of the types of chicken and sides they offer. They have a few booths and tables, but it's really more of a to-go place. It's really all about the sauce here, there's lots to choose from. We really loved our food and the flavor; portion sizes are huge, plenty to share. The only real issues we had here were the slow service, which was kind of unprofessional, and the even slower time it took to get the food. What is this place?! Omg! This is the best chicken wings I ate in awhile. My daughter got some takeout and we grinded it at home for lunch. She got the ddeokbokki, some fries (super long and crispy) and three types of chicken wings (original, galbi and cheesling)... all were super good but my favorite was the cheesling. Similar to the snow chicken at Vons but a touch better. Chicken wings were humango and super juicy. We need to dine in next time and eat everything fresh but take out was still pretty awesome. Fantastic chicken here in Hawaii. We tried this place in Vegas back in November and found one here in Aiea. The fact that my niece works there is even better! Their kfc is absolutely the best!!! A must try for those craving or wanting the best Korean Fried Chicken on the Island! Way better than Von's or any other wing restaurants including Wing Stop and Buffalo Wild Wings. Management needs to train the staff properly. Usually, this place is pretty good, but today was a major disappointment. We were served chicken that was significantly undercooked. Done fried chicken should be golden brown on the outside and white all the way through. It was pink in the middle, and honestly, didn't look safe to eat. When we pointed it out to the staff, they weren't very attentive. They seemed more interested in their own conversation and weren't particularly apologetic. They actually tried to insist that the chicken was cooked properly, which was clearly not the case (see the attached picture). It was disappointing to experience this lack of attention to food quality and the dismissive attitude of the staff. While I've had good experiences here before, today's visit makes me hesitant to return. I've been to other bb.q locations on the mainland before so I had high expectations for this one in Aiea and it did not disappoint! the chicken was crispy and flavorful, super fresh, and the restaurant was clean. we placed a takeout order and it took a while to prepare, but it was worth the wait. they also have a selection of korean soju and sodas to choose from. parking can be hard since they share a lot with the Alley. best bet is to order takeout in advance and go with 2 people so one person can just run in to pick up lol. we'll definitely be back for that korean fried chicken craving! read more
