First time trying this place tonight with my fiancé. We were hungry and it was getting late so yelped it and this place came up. When we got to the restaurant there were only 2 other tables there. They seem to get a lot of take out orders so the aunty was busy running around. She was very nice and even apologized for the wait. I got the fish jun and my fiancé got the bbq pork and meat Jun plate. I will say that the plates are well portioned and the banchan were also really good. Everything we had was really good and flavorful. I will say it was probably one of the best fish Jun I had on island. The fish to batter ratio was perfect and you can still taste the egg in the batter. It wasn't overly fried or burnt either. The fish was still nice and moist and you can actually taste the fish. Unlike some places where the fish is like paper thin and you hardly have any. My fiancé said the bbq pork was really good as well as the meat Jun and was by far one of the best he has had too. We will definitely be coming back to try other items on the menu as we are moving to the Aiea area soon so I am very excited to explore what kind of hidden gems are out there. If you haven't tried this place, I would recommend.

Meat Jhun was thin and NO FLAVOR, BBQ Chicken was dry and look how SMALL the portions are for $20+.

Portions was SMALL and yet it costed $45 for Meat Jhun/BBQ Chicken and Kim Chee Fried Rice. They gave so much "sides" which they should at least ASKED what you want.. As for flavor... Meat Jhun (nope) / BBQ Chicken (dry) / KCFR (too wet/watery) Service was pretty fast, which made me wonder because the ONLY thing that was steaming was the Kim Chee Fried Rice. As for ambiance, it used to be Grace's, and that was kinda the hang out.

Overall a 3/5. It was good food and the speed of service was great. Kinda pricey for the two meals, was about $50. However, stuck and traffic and this was a perfect pit stop to fill us up. Not sure I would go back but it was good.

Enjoyed a family Korean bbq meal prior to heading to the airport. Less than 10 minute to HNL. Meat Jun was excellent, as was fried rice, Ddok Ttokki. Barbecue beef was a little too salty but not inedible. I failed to take the before photo, but one of the table after the family started eating! Bonus: next to a Dave's Ice Cream shop!

Newtown Special: meat jun, kalbi, bbq chicken, bulgogi, fried mandoo, shrimp tempura, 2 scoops rice

The ladies were so kind and accommodated us despite a very packed and busy Sunday evening. We're fortunate to grab the last two seats. Banchan: Everything tasted delicious from kim chee, fish cake, eggplant, seaweed, firm tofu, broccoli, pickled, sweet daikon. If you finish your banchan and would like a second round, kindly inform them and they will be happy to bring more for you to enjoy. Our meals were served piping hot from Meat Jun, Newtown Special - meat jun, kalbi, bbq chicken, bulgogi, fried mandoo, shrimp tempura, two scoops rice, and Seafood Pancake filled with squid, green onions, scallions, julienne carrots, hoped for crispier batter. My faves were the following: Banchan: flavorful and tasty! Meat jun: thin, lightly dipped egg batter remained intact with tender beef strips for every bite. Shrimp tempura: Crispy, heat hot, light batter, evenly coated with cooked shrimp. Fried mandoo: Homemade, crispy, thick filling. Free parking in private lot. Ambiance is casual. More families dining in. You're welcome to call in advance for take out and/or reserve seating for a larger party. Will return to try a traditional entree on our next visit.

Five stars. Ordering is simple: either dine in or call your order in and pick it up. We did takeout this time and everything was packed well and still tasted great when we got home. The sea bream was crispy on the outside and flaky inside, and the soon do bu had that rich, spicy comfort you want with soft tofu that actually tastes fresh. Since it was takeout we did not get the full spread of banchan I was hoping for, so I am definitely dining in next time. The restaurant is clean, the staff are upbeat and attentive, and it feels like a real family spot. You can tell the owner is in the kitchen making things happen. We will be back.

First time here. Young's no dine in. Sadie's closed on Sunday. Nice and cool dining room
    Kathy A.

3.5 stars bumped to 4 stars because the service is excellent! Using Young's as a measuring stick for food it's not really close. Okay so we started out at 11:20 on Sunday at Young's Kalbi but upon entering there's no dine-in and at their prices I wasn't interested in paying $40-$50 for takeout. We left and drove to Sadie's in Pearl City. Pulling into the parking lot I wondered out loud if they were open given it was Sunday....checked the trusty Yelp app only to find they were closed on Sundays, bummers. So still in the Yelp app I looked for other Korean Restaurants open on Sundays in the area and that's how we ended up at Newtown Dining Korean Restaurant. Kudos for a pleasant albeit small dining room. Air conditioning keeping it cool when it was 85° outside. Choose a table and a very pleasant associate brought water as we perused the menus already placed on the tables. Ordering was easy as we had plenty of time to discuss given the drive to get here Kalbi Ribs, Meat Jun, Mandoo, and BiBimBop medium heat. As we waited banchan was brought, pretty good, actually better than Youngs but that's when any comparison stops. The Kalbi cut was too thick and cutting the strips into quarters doesn't make it any easier to eat. In total there were twelve pieces but if they were sliced thinner (as at Young's) you'd get five strips easy to chew and eat with chopsticks. Probably the same weight too. The Meat Jun was cut too thin...even the Meat Jun from Yummy's Bbq at the mall is better and more flavorful. The BiBimBop had no heat at all although huge. Lastly the Mandoo....I did love this. So food....2.5 but service was stellar. Would I return? Yes but to try other things. Parking is in a very small lot fronting the restaurant and shared with Dave's Ice Cream which is another plus for dining here.

Friendly service, large portions. It was a good place to take the in-laws because the place wasn't too busy yet the service was friendly. Decent place for fast casual Korean food.

Delicious authentic Korean food! Great customer service - greets you when entering. Everything is packed well. Our favorites are the Bbq Beef, BiBim Bap and the Mundoo. Their Banchan is also fresh and tasty.

    Dinner. Saturday August 16, 2025

Saturday August 16, 2025. First time, getting dinner from here. This was the former location of Grace's Drive In a very long time ago. Their private small parking was full at the time. 12 cars? They share it with Dave's Ice Cream. The food was good. Phone order. So, call in order and then pick up in 10 minutes. Service was fast. Ambiance is casual inside.

Finally tried this restaurant after passing it all the time when I drive to the Pearlridge area. The service was fast and the staff was nice. I enjoyed the banchan, can't go wrong with good Korean apps. I shared japchae and the meat jun/mandoo dish with my mom. I enjoyed the stir-fried vegetables and the minced meat in the japchae a lot. The mandoo was tasty and the meat jun was too. Though the meat jun was very thinly cut and the portion was small considering the price.

First time dining with the family. Parking is limited but there's parking on the other side. The food is great. I enjoyed my seafood soup. I request it to be mild. Perfect for a nice cool day. The sides are also delicious. The services there were excellent. She kept serving us sides and refilling our water and asking if we're okay. Overall it was a great experiences and i would go back again. Want to try the fish roe soup. I love soup.

    Bi Bim Bap

I enjoy Korean food and this one of the local establishments we like to go to. It's down the street from our house and so convenient. A smaller establishment with I think about 7 tables and might fit about 30 diners. We ordered their bi bim bap, spicy chicken, BBQ pork (made spicy for a dollar more) and meat jun, kalbi and meat jun, beef fried rice. The meal came with a variety of banchan which we enjoyed. My son and I like spicy but found that their spicy meats aren't very hot. That's okay, still quite flavorful. At 5:30 on a Monday it wasn't so busy. It got busier as we left about an hour later. They had more people come and go for take-out. Dave's Ice Cream next door is a bonus for dessert.

Yujin K-BBQ is a cute little takeout spot that is brightly decorated, extremely clean, and has a very welcoming environment. That's always a great sign that even better things are coming. It was so good that we've already visited twice (once on Christmas and again on New Year's Eve), and everything was cooked to perfection. My other half said this was the best spicy pork he has ever had. It's incredibly flavorful and a must-try. I ordered Kalbi on our second visit to satisfy a craving. It was super yummy with just the perfect amount of char. We also absolutely loved the meat jun and fish jun, those will definitely be our go-to orders from now on! The sides change daily, so it's a fun surprise to see what you get. Everything we tried appealed to all our taste buds, not one complain here. Initially, it was quiet people were watching TV and there was literal families. They're having dinner. We quietly drank, ordered our food and flipped through the karaoke book for when we were enough intoxicated to start singing. Keep in mind everyone was still eating. My friend, who is a fantastic singer, finally put in a song and out of the corner of the room all we heard was "Oo. Are we singing now?" or something to that effect. After my friend broke the ice and sang the first song it was all singing from that point forward. The songs arranged from country to old 80s love songs to whatever, and they were being sung by people from all over the room. Couple tables turned over while we were there, despite that if a good song came on, people were singing from their seats and it was not an issue to anybody. By the 10 o'clock hour, my friend was singing duets with a guy. She's never met before, but who could sing and the whole bar was just on such a positive vibe. Food was great. The wait help is fantastic. We ended up staying till midnight. Closing the bar down. It was such an intimate and welcoming vibe that we will definitely be visiting again.
