I typically order the lunch special which is available from 10:30 - 3:30 pm daily. I always get meat jun and shrimp tempura. The portions are HUGE - I have left overs for three days their meat jun is juicy and breading just right. The shrimp tempura is hot and fresh, and the cabbage is always soooo ono. You can pick two of their regular items and it comes with rice, veggies, and banchan at a discounted price. For what you're getting, this is a SUPERB deal. They absolutely do not skimp out on the portions. This will fill you up for the whole day. Ordered the following lunch special: - BBQ short ribs and chicken - 8.5/10: My God man, this was awesome. We love it here!!! Parking can be a little bit tight, but there is parking in the area. Every time we're craving meat Jun this is the spot we go to. It is a bit tight in this restaurant so we usually do takeout when we have the whole family with us because my son is special needs so it's a little hard to find a spot for him to sit down without being in someone's way. But when he's not with us, we love to eat in. They have a bunch of vegetable sides. All of them are always delicious. The meat Jun here is our family's favorite and their Kalbi too! We usually order the meal for two and they naturally give so much food that it feeds our family of six... for now because the kids are still little. We've been eating here a lot lately. No matter how busy they are (and they're always busy), the service is always amazing and the food and portions are fantastic. I can never finish my whole plate and I always have enough to take home for another meal the next day. My go-to is always the Combo Plate C. I love their big bone Kalbi along with their Meat Jun and BBQ chicken. I really love their kimchee variety too, which they refill for you so you can eat to your heart's content. This is a small place with limited seating so you will often have to sign in and wait for a table. The wait is not usually long though and it's worth it. Solid experience all around! Dined here with my parents and my family last night. From the minute we were seated, their staff of young people immediately dropped us water, banchan and our utensils. My goodness, we were immediately impressed with how efficient they were. In terms of prices and portions, I believe it's not even close compared to other places. For our party of 4? We ordered 2 sodas, a fresh shoyu poke appetizer, a 3 choice dinner plate, a regular and a mini bbq chicken plate and still came under $90. To give you context, our 3 choice dinner plate came with 3 huge pieces of chicken, 2-3 pieces spicy pork and I believe 6 pieces of mandoo! Not only that, it was loaded up with a good portion of rice and all kinds of banchan too. The entire time, staff would always ask if we wanted more water or soda and they'd always be around if we needed anything. Mind you, while they were doing this, the restaurant was fully packed with take out orders going out too. As busy as it was, they were very pleasant. Like a Mexican restaurant,rather offers chips and salsa, Kim Chee offered Kim Chee at the table when we sat down. The food was delicious. This is the place locals eat at. The portions were huge. The side order of kalabi beef was also huge. I believe the photo shows a piece already taken out. The karaage chicken was also delicious. Would definitely recommend. The only downside is that the restroom is a short walk around the building. So if you're alone with little kids, you'll need to pack up your family so I'd suggest to use the restroom before or after. read more

First time dining here. Four of us made plans to have lunch here at 11 am. 3 of us arrived early and when the Open sign turned on at 10:30 we entered. We were given a regular menu and a single sheet with Lunch Combos. Three of us decided upon a two choice lunch combo with different choices. One wanted cold noodles. Our jaws literally dropped in awe as the first plate arrived with vegetable tempura and bbq pork. It was humongous!!! My meat Jun and zucchini was pretty huge as well. The person who ordered kalbi with another choice paid $3+ extra for the kalbi selection. We all remarked how delicious our meals were and we all took left overs home. The servers are friendly, refill your water and don't chase you out after you paid the bill. We hadn't all met together since Covid so we had lots to catch up on. You will need to ask for a key to use the outside restroom. The interior furniture and menus show they've been in use for quite some time. Dinner in Aiea, Hawaii... My friend and I were at a seminar at Aiea Library and she wanted to have dinner afterwards. I saw Ruby S. check in at Kim Chee Restaurant 7 and thought - wow... that's nearby! Let's try it! Located at Westridge Center, Kim Chee 7 was on the ground level, to the right of the Hawaii State Credit Union. The restroom is "under the stairs" and a key is needed for the door. Shared parking was free. I walked in and signed my name on the clipboard at the cashier's station. The place was packed! I saw four parties signed in ahead of us, and two tables were being cleared. That meant that we'd be seated soon. The friendly worker called us in and pointed to the middle table. It was set with menus, cups of iced water, utensils, napkins, and three dishes of banchan. I ordered Mixed Plate Special A because it had some of everything: BBQ chicken, meat jun, BBQ beef, and fried mandoo. My plate came with a bowl of white rice and a bowl of seaweed soup. Massive portions considering the prices. Sufficient for three meals. Intuitive and superb customer service from the staff. Seaweed soup tasted comforting. Pickled radish was on point. Mochiko Chicken was partially coated in batter and most of the pieces tasted dry. Meat is a little tougher and doesn't adhere to the egg mixture for meat jun. Spicy Ahi Won tasted ok. My friend and I came here for lunch. He ordered the lunch combo which had a lot of food. I ordered the soft tofu soup. The flavor was light and not overly salty which is my preference. The vegetables included carrots, onions and zucchini. It came with clams, shrimp and beef which I gave to my friend since I don't each those. The only vege options were the vegetable tempura or the tofu and mushroom dish. You could also order the bimbibap and just remove the meat if you're not super strict. The food was pretty bland, the soup was bland, the banchan was lacking seasoning/pickling....just not very good. I want to be honest for others since it seems to be highly rated on yelp and this comes from input from a korean person that also at there. This location is located in Westridge Shopping Center across of Pearlridge mall, by the Keiki Kingdom side (old Circuit City). The parking is okay but kinda tight. We got seated right away on a Wednesday evening. There are lots of booths but the tables are a little bit too close to the seats for my liking - the kine you gotta sit up straight for. Upon getting seated they give some banchan - kimchi, cabbage and I think some kind of radish? And some seaweed soup. They also refill upon request. We got a meat jun plate, meat jun & shrimp tempura combo, and meat jun/kalbi/bbq chicken combo x2. The only negative thing we had was that they told us they ran out of mochiko a little while after we ordered so we had to figure out a back up option and THEN wait for our food to come out which took an extra 15 minutes after everyone else's plates were delivered. Not sure if the shrimp tempura is worth getting in the combo because it's only two pieces but they were really good. Meat Jun is always ono with huge portions! Enough for lunch the next day too. Now we just call our orders in and do take out. The wait is usually about 30-40 minutes but by the time we call it in from Ewa Beach and get there, it's ready to go.
