We ordered 18 pieces of honey cheddar. The snow chicken looked good too. We also ordered some mild rice cakes. We waited 20 minutes by going shopping next door at the Korean market. Couldn't be more pleased. Chicken was piping hot. Rice cakes were fried and then dipped in mild sauce. Never had it that way but it was very good!

Spicy "bone in" chicken with mini mandoo

Food - chicken was yummy, just the perfect amount of spice. Corn was meh, tasted like it list came out of a can. The mini mandoo was good. It would have been better with a dipping sauce but it didn't come with any. Is it just me that love mandoo with dipping sauce? Well, I thought it was a mistake so I went up to the counter. The lady said it doesn't come with sauce and if I wanted sauce it'll be $1. Wait , what?! No, thank you. The cost of 2 plates plus tip came up to almost $30 and not even a small container of dipping sauce? -1 star Service- the lady at the counter wasn't too friendly. She just got off the phone taking an order. Maybe she was tired? An after thought for me, "I should have just ordered at the kiosk" to avoid the unfriendliness. When I went up to ask for the dipping sauce, there was no one at the front and there were a few people waiting. I could see the lady and another younger lady behind the curtain. No acknowledgment, no "we will be right with you", no "thank you for your patience" -1 star Ambiance- when you walk in from their "main door", it's literally an area for you to stand in line (if there was a line). The tables and chairs are shared in a common area with other food venues. This is all inside the Asian market. There's the Mexican place, which I want to try next time and there's also a Korean place. There were maybe 6 tables with 4 chairs each. There was a counter with 4 chairs. It was a bit warm sitting there, you can't feel the AC much. Out of their control so keeping the stars at 3. Would I come here again? Maybe. If I did, I'd come for only the chicken. $12.99 for a chicken plate with 4 bone in chicken pieces, rice, bland corn, and two mini mandoo without dipping sauce OR $17.99 for 10 pcs of chicken.

I got 3 of the most popular ones.

Service is good, the place is small just remember that they cook as you order. I placed my order and was told 20 minutes then found out my grandson and his friend was at the house so I ordered more food and that's another 20 min. Their chicken was good.

My experience here is always really good. The food is amazing and I always get the honey butter chicken. The kimchi fried rice and the bottom chicken is not from here but from a Korean restaurant in H-mart. Make sure to phone order if you don't want to wait!

I went today to pick up half order of their Honey butter wings. I prefer their dry rubs and this one was so good! Truly hits the spot! It's mix between savory and a bit sweet! I also ordered regular fries to go too. Fries were ok but the wings were delicious!

    Wow. So good.

Wow. Really great wings. Super great service. Located in HMart food court. Lots of tables. Clean.

Wings are always perfect. Our favorite is SNOW and GARLIC. Always call ahead because it can take 20+ minutes. Prices increased recently, so it's definitely just a splurge now.

    This is what I ordered.

SLOW SERVICE!!! I placed my order at just after 5 pm. I showed up at 5:30 to pick up and I was told would be another 10 min. I could see in the back a huge pile of wings that needed only to be seasoned so I was surprised I needed to wait. Oh well no worries. 20 min later my order was still not ready. I live 5 min away so once I did receive my order I was shocked that my wings were cold. This was my second time having them. First time was amazing. I'll give them another try but at the prices they charge, I shouldn't have had cold wings.

I have found my new favorite place for wings! This place imo has wing stop beat hands down! We stopped by tonight Wednesday, 3/9/2022 around 6:30 or so. There was no line and the gentleman behind the counter was friendly and helpful. I told him it was my 1st time there and he made a suggestion of their most popular item the #2 crispy shoyu wings. Sold!! I also wanted to try some other menu items so I ordered the regular mini mandoo, #6 crispy honey butter wings, regular fries, and radish. I was going to order a boneless chicken plate as well but was told that they were out of rice and boneless chicken, oh well maybe next time. Everything came out hot and fresh in about 20 minutes. The takeout container for the fries isn't ideal as there is no cover, it's simply a paper boat with aluminum foil inside and the fries on top. Honestly after tasting the fries I didn't ever care, needless to say they never made it home, lol. My husband and I devoured them all in a matter of minutes! They were so crispy and hot that when we were done I regretted not ordering 2. The chicken was amazing! I enjoyed both flavors but prefer the shoyu. The chicken is as the name states crispy and the inside is tender and juicy. The mini mandoo were also delicious and a great deal. I would definitely come back to try other flavors and get more fries but I just found out that they opened a location in Mililani Town Center, which is so much closer to home, so I might be writing my review for that location next hehehe.

Solid experience all around!…read more Dined here with my parents and my family last night. From the minute we were seated, their staff of young people immediately dropped us water, banchan and our utensils. My goodness, we were immediately impressed with how efficient they were. In terms of prices and portions, I believe it's not even close compared to other places. For our party of 4? We ordered 2 sodas, a fresh shoyu poke appetizer, a 3 choice dinner plate, a regular and a mini bbq chicken plate and still came under $90. To give you context, our 3 choice dinner plate came with 3 huge pieces of chicken, 2-3 pieces spicy pork and I believe 6 pieces of mandoo! Not only that, it was loaded up with a good portion of rice and all kinds of banchan too. The entire time, staff would always ask if we wanted more water or soda and they'd always be around if we needed anything. Mind you, while they were doing this, the restaurant was fully packed with take out orders going out too. As busy as it was, they were very pleasant. Efficiency, value, tasty food, excellent customer service = NAILED IT. Keep up the solid work guys! We will definitely be back anytime we are in the area.

I can never finish my whole plate and I always have enough to take home for another meal the next day. My go-to is always the Combo Plate C. I love their big bone Kalbi along with their Meat Jun and BBQ chicken. I really love their kimchee variety too, which they refill for you so you can eat to your heart's content. This is a small place with limited seating so you will often have to sign in and wait for a table. The wait is not usually long though and it's worth it. It can get really busy here especially in the evening, but it's not uncommon during lunch as well.

So many of the Korean restaurants in Honolulu have servers who are actually mean to the customers and we now refuse to give them our dining dollars. We went with the Prix Fixe Menu of the 9 courses, for $70 per person. First we were given the banchans. They have A LOT and I love banchans so it was a great start to the meal. I wonder if you could get refills on the banchans like many other KBBQ spots... I didn't get the chance to find out as I was STUFFED by the end of my meal. The steamed egg also came fairly fast, they offered to serve it for us which we took up on that offer. Then we also received the kimchi pancake. Here is what I'd note, I am a bit confused on the portion sizes. As the prix fixe menu is per person, shouldn't the dishes and servings per person? Like why would the kimchi pancake be one and shared between two? As well as the egg? We then got all of the various cuts of the meats. Everything was good and quite enjoyable. We also had a choice between soup (soybean or tofu) and cold noodles (reg or spicy). We both chose the spicy cold noodles. It was very good and a refreshing side to pair with the KBBQ. We were honestly stuffed by the end of our meal and enjoyed it all. Despite my slight concern/confusion regarding the serving/pricing, I would possibly come back. Although I usually go for an AYCE kbbq spot as it is definitely more worth it value wise.

I…read moregrew up in the 80s nearby, cruising Salt Lake Shopping Center from back when there was Pioneer Chicken and Kana's Ice Cream and Pay n' Save and Sizzler's. My parents would stop pick up Soon's on the way to UH games at the stadium, a Saturday splurge (they were never cheap) when my mom didn't have time to make musubi and hotdogs. Maybe i'm suffering from "da good ole days" syndrome, but my first trip back to Soon's in about ten years left me Broken Hearted... VALUE: the portions were OK, Soon's always gave a satisfying portions but never "masu's massive" satisfying. I thought they used to drop a rubbery fried mandoo as a bonus side with your plate but i could be wrong and i got none today. AMBIANCE: it seemed cleaned up, definitely. but like when you see an old plantation house with a thick coat of bright glossy latex it just felt a little off in a less charming, trying-too-hard kind of way. For reference, I absolutely love the "Honesty" of Bob's BBQ on Waikamilo, and BBQ Kai in Waianae. FOOD: I ordered a couple BBQ Chicken and Meat Jun plates for some contractors working on my parents' house nearby, thought that was a safe bet but NOPE. I felt bad i gave the contractors the terrible meat jun i wanted to apologize was so embarrassing. MEAT JUN - (2/10, +one point cuz it didnt give me food poisoning). Soon's version always was thin, but today was Next Level chintzy. I dunno if the meat was over-pounded flat to stretch it out but even WITH the coating it was the SIZE AND TEXTURE OF BITING INTO A STICK OF STALE WRIGLEY'S JUICY FRUIT THAT WAS FORGOTTEN IN THE BOTTOM OF YOUR BACKPACK FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS DURING A HUMID SUMMER VACATION, but without the burst of fruity goodness. So maybe a more apt analogy would be texture and flavor LIKE BITING INTO A STICK OF CLAY. MEAT JUN SAUCE - (nostalgic 8/10). sweet and tasty, but Why do they give only that MINI thimble portion cup of sauce?!? THE CLAY-LIKE MEAT JUN DOESN'T EVEN FIT THE OPENING OF THE TINY %#@$ CUP!! BBQ CHICKEN - (solid 6/10). Always over-marinated, the classic soon's tasty but heavy handed preparation. Clearly benefits from nostalgia. OTHERS - the BBQ meat / bulgogi is also over marinated, with small/medium shreds of slightly dry and too-hard meat. meh. - the "banchan" tsukemono kimchee foil pocket of veggies was always a treat, but so small. plus the kimchee is super weak more orange and sour than truly tasty. The TREAT - SECRET IS TO POUR A PRECIOUS FEW DROPS OF YOUR TINY CUP OF MEAT JUN SAUCE OVER THE VEGGIES TO GIVE IT A TASTY KICK. VERDICT: I grew up with Soon's, but I want to remember them fondly so I'm Never going back. My parents still live in Salt Lake so I'm sad. Guess I'm just going to file Soon's away with the fuzzy old memories of Aloha Stadium, the Islanders, and the 'Bows v. BYU. Next time i need Korean bento I'm going to Gina's.
