"Eat some breakfast, change the world later". - Hairspray Had some business to do in and around the airport this morning. It was early so we decided to pop into McDonald's here on N. Nimitz Hwy. We dined in. The interior was clean, orderly and spacious. Considering it's next to the airport, they would need the extra room to accommodate a large group of people. It's 24/7, so if you're here in the area they've got you. The drive thru was wrapped around the building. It's 6:15am and understandably, people are off to work and getting breakfast before hand. They have the touch screen kiosks to place orders yourself or you can order from the counter. They were busy inside as well but, the workers all did their best to accommodate all the orders. We had a typical McDonald's breakfast of sausage McMuffin with eggs, OJ and hash browns. Delicious! The restroom was clean and immaculate. I would return if I'm ever in the area again. Decent McDonald's by the airport. The drive thru line is always packed. We walked from the hotel for breakfast after ordering online. No issues. The spam and eggs were ok. Nothing special. The food was ready when we arrived. There's sometimes homeless people hanging out but they leave you alone, however there's trash everywhere. For a quick, cheap meal - worth it. read more

Gave me a cup of ice without charge when I said coffee was too hot. Replaced soggy Fries, and crew seems to enjoy working there. The McDonalds Hawaii is not much of a difference then the ones LA. EXCEPT the breakfast platter with spam , Portuguese sausage and egg with rice. We ordered the breakfast platter after hiking the Lanakai Pillbox. Everything was very tasty, not too salty and the egg is soft and buttery. If you add soy sauce to the rice will make it better with the flavor. I give it a 7/10. Nice cool inside and The staff there is friendly and I was able to pick up my order right away. read more

On my way home drop by to buy morning breakfast, The cashier Order here , came forward and when I asked if they still have breakfast, she replied, yah, yah, yah. I told her yah yah you still serve breakfast ?? She had a smile appealing but do you trpodinsr to your customers, yah, yah, yah? Business here in the mornings. Plus where I park my car security told me it's for company's car parking? When I saw car driving off I wouldn't have known until the guard told me so! There's no sign. Plus I don't do curbside pickup! My order for pick up place in a package as usual but when I called the person cleaning French fries she wore a blue uniform. I asked for the package with the handle she flap it in front of me and left ! Do it yourself! She hurriedly went on her work I didn't see! I have a rotator cuff on my right arm that no one would know have pain nor can't lift my arm! We're all Mac fans but this is inappropriate gesture of service imagine of Mac! There was a time when I would avoid this location, but I have to admit that it has improved just enough that I may risk going when it doesn't look too busy. But it's still the worst location I've ever visited, mainly based on my experience with mobile/curbside orders and the drive thru. I do not recommend ordering for curbside pickup here. Even though it's fine at other locations, here it's like they have so many curbside stalls (12!) so there's room for everyone to wait an eternity for their orders. I once waited well over 20 minutes for a single iced coffee. And another time that I decided to give them another try, I ended up walking in to pick up my coffee. To be fair, the time I walked it in did appear that they were understaffed. But they usually take forever, so if that means they are always understaffed, that's the real problem. The last time I visited the drive thru, the outer ordering lane was either completely ignored, or broken and not coned off. McDonalds has had the dual ordering lanes long enough that you would think there should be a reasonable way to manage this. read more

Collector's Cup Meal... A few friends asked me if I was going to get the Hello Kitty cup from McDonald's... Well - it's not that easy. There are currently six Collectable plastic cups that are randomly given with purchase of a Collector's Meal. In the morning, the meal consists of a Sausage McMuffin, hash brown, and a small coffee. After breakfast, the Collector's Meal is either a Big Mac or 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, large fries, and a medium drink. My friend, Donna O., encouraged me to get the Collector's Cup Meal and noted that the breakfast meal costs less than the other meals. She also suggested that I ask for a meat substitution ... instead of sausage, replace it with Canadian bacon! ...and for the coffee, ask for sugar-free vanilla flavoring and no cream (because dairy doesn't like me). This was my first visit to this location. I entered from Koapaka Street. There's also an entrance from Paiea Street. It looked like a drive-through only from Koapaka Street side, so I ordered at the speaker, asking for Canadian bacon to replace the sausage. The female voice asked how many sugar and cream I wanted in my coffee. I asked for vanilla flavoring. How many pumps? I guessed, "Three". I paid at the next window, then drove to the last window to collect a large hot coffee, paper bag, and blue package with the Collector's Cup. The hash brown was hot, crunchy, and yummy! The hot coffee was okay. The sandwich only contained cheese and a slice of Canadian bacon in the Muffin. The egg was missing. I told Donna - after I drove off. She advised me to call the supervisor. Okay! The supervisor answered the phone, asked for my receipt number, gave me her name, and said to ask for her tomorrow morning. She will give me the correct sandwich! Thank you! This review is strictly for the drive-thru, as I only come here for the frozen drinks. So far, every time I've been here, workers were also cool and friendly. But one thing that never changes is the drive-thru..... They have 2 drive-thru order stands and ALWAYS operate one at a time. Hence, the wait time is ridiculous here. At times, they just continue servicing one stand while the others wait. I've had a few instances where my best friend and I had a total of 4 cars able to place their order before we were serviced. Waited 1 hour, came out empty handed with a very angry child of mine. If I could give zero stars I would. I am a patient person but wow did McDonalds test it. Waited 1 hour for two taro pies, sundae & a drink. I didn't ask, but I'll assume my order was marked as fulfilled when it never was since I didn't see my order # on the screen any more. I was confused when I saw customers received their taro pies when they came AFTER me. The staff could be more attentive to their customers. They werent very organized. My tour of the McDonald's across the island continues as I'm collecting the Happy Meal toys. I purchased another Kerwin Frost 10 piece chicken nuggets Happy Meal. I received Don Bernice at this location. Ok, so now I have Uptown Moe, Darla and Don Bernice. Three down and four to go. This might be it for me for the Kerwin Frost collection. McDonald's just started rolling out their Squishmallows Happy Meals. I started collecting those too, but that collection has 12 toys. Oh buddy! Why would they run both concurrently? I'm getting sick of eating at McDonald's, lol. The workers are nice here. I had to knock off a star as they ran out of the Happy Meal boxes and gave me a brown paper bag instead. McRib is back. This McDonalds has cleaned up their homeless crazy people problem with a parking lot attendant. She is great chasing off feral people who had been making the nice outdoor seating a gathering and smoking spot for da kine. She also deals with warns and if needed runs off Uber drivers who camp out in the parking stalls and don't buy anything. The McRib was $5.50 and worth it. The fries are $4 now for medium fries which is only 7 more fries than a small.. the meal gets you a cup and unlimited high fructose corn syrup soda. The homeless know the trick and take cups out of garbage and go in fill up on coke caffeine free... need to get rid of corn syrup and seed oils. Beef Tallow makes better fries and was what McDonalds originally used until the Vegans complained the oil was from animal. Soon McDonald's will be run by robots read more

Could be better So I come here often when I drop my car for service. It's a quick walk and there is outdoor seating if you want to enjoy the sunshine. Couple of faults I have with this place is: 1. They are short staffed so don't expect table service. I actually picked up a placard but had to get my own food from the counter. 2. Because they are short staffed, it's tough to find a clean table. You're better off busting your table instead of waiting for staff. 3. Unfortunately every place has a homeless issue. While writing this review I have seen two homeless people fill up their water bottles (one guy filled up a thermos) at the soda station. And just plop a seat talking to the air. 4. Actually I even saw a couple of paying customers fill up their personal hydro flask at the same station. Now I don't know how clean this machine is but I hope it gets at least a semi daily cleaning. But looking at the tables I doubt it. Over two stars. Short staff means sacrifice cleaning and wait time increase. On the plus side, it's one of the cheapest price wise on the island. I mean it's not California prices but it's not Waikiki either. Now excuse me, time to check on the car. read more

Wednesday, January 11, 2024 for breakfast, dine in Friday, January 13, 2024 & Tuesday, January 16, 2024 for breakfast, drive-thru This was the closest McDonald's to our hotel so my son and I stopped in for breakfast. We were back in town for my son's work vacation and a local platter consisting of portuguese sausage, eggs and rice is a must. We opted to dine in and enjoy our breakfast. We walked in and there were maybe 8 people total inside - perfect for me as I do not care for crowds. We ordered at one of the kiosks the found a nice table and waited for our order. It wasn't long before someone called out our order number, we retrieved it then enjoyed our breakfast. The food was delicious! The other two times we got our food through the drive-thru, service was quick and food was delicious. No complaints. Recommend? Yes Return? Of course! read more

Came one morning to place an order like I normally do. I placed it with the mobile order and laid back to nap while they make it. The "parking attendant" bangs on my window - mind you it's 6am I was the only car here and no one else is here everyone in the drive thru... She asking me if I made an order I say yes the conversation should be done. And she turns around to continue to explain I can't be there sleeping. I can do whatever tf I want if I'm waiting for my order in comfort of my own car! Leave me tf alone if you ain't got my food... Then I get my food and I'm about to place my kids order but I have to wait 15 minutes before I can place another order to use my deals. So I'm eating my order - mind you I do this all the time when it's not busy before the rush. I'm just in my car and the parking lot near empty no one in cue waiting in line .... She comes over again and tells me I can't eat in the stall and that I needed to move into a different stall but I have 30 minutes to eat and go. This use to be my preferred Mc Donald's because of convenience but NOT ANYMORE... harassed is what a customer shouldn't feel. I'm in my WORK CAR not a houseless bum trying to pull over and camp. I just worked 14 hours .... Anyways, I'm sitting in this stall now to write this review and cancelled my 2nd order HOPE A BIRD DOOKIES ON YOU EVERY HOUR ON THE HOUR. Our car dealership/service recently moved fairly close, easy walk, to this McDonalds. I read the reviews and was anticipating a "not so great" experience. In actuality, it was great. Arrived around 8:00 a.m. today, Monday, expecting a mad rush. There was none..... the staff were busy doing the usual tasks, the customers, there were a few, were enjoying their meals. The ambiance was nice actually. We had our usual special order on the app, and it was quickly ready and was done to perfection. There was plenty of seating, both inside and outside, and the tables and chairs were clean. We had only one mild complaint....... The temperature inside was too warm. Didn't stop us from enjoying our breakfasts. read more

I think the term "fast food" has to be qualified. Does waiting 30 mins at curbside pickup, after having placed AND PAID for an order 10 mins prior to arriving at the restaurant qualify as FAST food? I highly doubt it. There were 4 others at curbside pick up but I was the one who had arrived first. After waiting 25 mins I picked up the phone and called; after 40+ rings, someone answered. She wasn't apologetic at all. Said that someone would be out momentarily (which equated to another 5 mins). I told her to make sure my fries were hot (I have zero desire for cold, stale fries). Needless to say the fries were stone cold gross. Again the kid who brought out the food was unapologetic and said they were busy inside (I counted less than 10 people who entered the restaurant). And I said they got me money a half an hour ago...so where's the equity in that?! McD food isn't good enough for me to give them a second thought. I parked, and 5 seconds couldn't haven't passed while I'm looking through which deal I want to use from my app. And some lady is trying to interrogate me and why I'm parked here. I like how they renovated things and the inside has seatings to enjoy while eating. I have this place a 3 star because I've ordered iced hazelnut coffee several times and the past couple trips, I had to dump it immediately. Whoever in the morning is making the iced coffee, PLEASE stop using too much syrup!!! I can't taste the hazelnut or even the coffee. It's just a super sweet cream drink. Ordered an iced coffee and it took 20 minutes!!! Ordered in advance on mobile order about 5 minutes prior to arriving to pick up at counter and waited for another 15 minutes inside. Unsatisfactory organization for a customer dining franchise. During those 15 minutes waiting for coffee, I noticed the following: -One worker standing around waiting instead of prepping the backlog of orders. -customer requested to go to the restroom and was denied due to the cleaning schedule. A dining facility is supposed to have functioning restroom facilities with sink. - insect flies on the serving counter being waved away by one of the workers. - another customer order was sitting on the side with no announcement that it was ready while that guy was standing next to me waiting patiently. He finally got it and another waiting customer said she saw it sitting there for the last 10 minutes. -two customers needed to return because they were missing 1 and Apple pie and 2 wrong sandwich. Just flat out bad service and poor organization with very little efficiency what so ever. I am not coming to this location again. read more

Not sure why, but you'd expect that one of the fast food giants could get your order right, and on a good day, if you don't have any special requests, you might only be missing an item or two - especially when going through the drive-thru. But forget it if you have a special request! Today I tried ordering a breakfast sandwich with a folded egg and spam in place of sausage. What I got was a sandwich with a fried egg and a folded egg - seriously?! Then I ordered a small coffee with cream and sugar, and I got black coffee. My friend had requested this place since they had special menu items only available in Hawaii that he wanted to try and we went along with it. The item he was talking about was meal choices that had spam in it and with half of our group being Filipino, we needed to give it a try. The first time I went, I got the meal that had spam, Portuguese sausage, egg, and rice as well as a hash brown and a cheesy jalapeño egg McMuffin sandwich with a frozen Fanta blue raspberry drink. The meal did come with soy sauce, which I didn't use the first time, but did the second time we ate there since I had ordered the same meal set. Either way the meal tasted good with or without the soy sauce option. I did like the sausage pieces better than the spam, then again I don't really eat that much spam lolz The egg part of the meal wasn't my fave, especially since it tasted like cardboard because it was sitting on the plate absorbing that flavor. The McMuffin was good too and of course the hash brown was good since it was crispy and suffice my need for fries, even though it was breakfast time only the two times we went there. The frozen Fanta was spot on and a nice refreshing drink while chilling there both times. The Cookies & Creme pie was pretty good and I'm glad we got to get some before we left since they had sold out the first day we went there even though it was about 10:00AM in the morning. The service could be a lot better. First visit my friend had no eggs with her meal, even though it said it would come with it, and we had a full missing order that turned out to be put in a to-go bag that they didn't announce the number for when my friend requested for dine-in. Our second visit they kept giving us only one pie each when we all had gotten the two pie option, but at least they got it right the third time around when bringing our orders to the table. This is a good spot near the airport to wait for flights as well as the rest of your party if you flew separate. They do have a 30 minute dining only sign up, but they left us alone to just chill and relax.
