Now, I must say that I've always enjoyed papa john's thin crust pizza, and back in the U.S. I always got a student discount at my local store so it was the perfect price for their pizza.
This specific location has lost my business entirely.
I ordered a chicken pizza and it ended up coming with bacon (which I didn't realize). My partner doesn't eat bacon due to religious reasons, so we were quite disappointed when the pizza was delivered. He called the store and explained that it was a misunderstanding and asked if they could switch their bacon pizza for one without bacon. He was directed to a manager who flat out told him it wasn't their fault and he wouldn't exchange the bad pizza, nor would he refund our money.
So we figured they thought we were trying to scam them and we took the pizza to the store to show that we hadn't touched it. On papa john's pizza boxes it says "Love your pizza or we'll deliver another one, absolutely free". Now, I realize that is just a quote on the box, but that is what Papa John's represents. The manager said that our problem with the bacon wasn't his fault, it was our fault, and so he wouldn't do anything for us.
It's not like we can just pick off a million little pieces of bacon when it is strictly against my partner's religion to eat bacon. I've had friends working for papa johns for years and I have worked in the customer service industry myself. This was the poorest behavior from a manager(he started off the convo as a straight up a-hole too), especially since Papa Johns' tagline is: "Love your pizza or we'll deliver another one, absolutely free"!
This man was rude and represented the company so badly.
After too long, the guy gave us a pizza without bacon, but simply because my partner thought it was such an injustice and wasn't making it easy for the manager. read more
