I've visited Panorama several times and have always had a positive experience. The ambiance inside is classy but comfortable, and the food and drinks are excellent. The menu changes seasonally but I have been pleased with their veggie offerings; most recently I was able to order an enchilada. The service is also top notch. Alright Buffalo. My long awaited review of lunch with Ryan J. at Panorama on Seven... Five stars all around - service, food, view, environment/atmosphere, my dining companion/company, etc. Let me give you some details... Up on the seventh floor of the new Buffalo Marriott attached to the HARBORCENTER, you will find fresh seasonal ingredients, prohibition style cocktails, and a view like no other. Ryan and I came for lunch, parked in the parking garage, and traveled up to the seventh floor on the elevator. We were greeted by two young women working the front desk and taken to our table overlooking Canalside. We were able to see quite a ways and the view is truly something to see. Our waitress, Kim, was PERFECT for me and my dining companion, Yelp Extraordinaire Ryan J. She was quick to give several recommendations upon me asking and she was incredibly knowledgeable about every single item on the menu - and off. I mean, I think Ryan met his match in terms of culinary expertise. I loved the sounds of the drinks on the cocktail menu but I knew my tastebuds probably wouldn't. No problem though - Kim recommended a berry meddled drink which was five star worthy in itself. She conversed with us about the local Buffalo bar scene, who has the best cocktails, and showed us how Panorama on Seven is able to infuse their liquors with various flavors which was pretty neat. Having had a real job for a few months now, I was able to afford an appetizer at a Ryan J. recommended restaurant in addition to my meal, lol. I started with the "Frisee." It came with all of my favorite things - goat cheese, marinated tomatoes, a poached egg, and a delightful warm vinaigrette. The presentation was five stars and the taste far exceeded my expectations. For my entree of sorts I indulged in the Turkey Avocado BLT... bacon, lettuce, tomato, and the seller - sriracha mayo. The ratio of avocado to bread to lettuce to bacon to sriracha mayo was precise. Between the drinks, food, and views, I felt as though Panorama on Seven was totally worthy of four stars. But, I award the coveted fifth star to compliment our phenomenal waitress, Kim. She had a smile on her face the entire time we were there, shared about the restaurant, shared about the hotel, treated us to a sample of liquor, treated us to a sample of soup (YUM), and was the type of waitress I pray I get every time I dine out. Kim is truly something special and made my dining experience five stars. I hope to make it back to Panorama on Seven next time I'm in Buffalo and highly recommend this restaurant. If prices are too high, at least stop by for a drink or two to experience the view and great service. read more

We came here for Father's Day brunch. It was just okay. The menu was odd. Instead of a regular hamburger on the menu they had a sausage burger. Why not also have a hamburger? I tried to order an espresso and they turned the machine off(?) And the food took 45 minutes despite the restaurant being empty. The bill for five of us was about $110, with no alcohol and no appetizers. I didn't like the tv in the restaurant which was distracting and was more fitting for 716 downstairs. What can I say about this bar/lounge/restaurant other than they are truly fantastic here! The place just oozes class and coziness with a great view of the Harbor Front. Everyone from the hostess and bartenders were fantastic. The cocktails were right on point! This is a great place to stop at before a Sabres game or any other event at Key Bank Center, you don't even have to go outside to get over there. Stayed at the hotel recently. There's not much else within walking distance so I dropped by the hotel restaurant "come for the view, stay for the food" - catchy. The restaurant was so packed I left and went for a walk. Thankfully when I returned later the crowd was much more manageable and I sat at the bar. The bartender actually let me taste the wine before deciding which on I liked - a nice touch. I ordered onion soup (delicious), crab and watermelon salad (it sounded intriguing!), and a side of grilled asparagus. The food came out pretty quickly and was savory. My only disappointment was the tiny size of the $17 salad but it made up for it in taste. Not surprisingly, this meal was pricey; one glass of mediocre red wine cost $18! read more

This is my second time here and the experience was pretty consistent. Gorgeous restaurant and casual vibe. When I came a few months ago I got the turkey avocado BLT which was enough to feed two adults. Today we opted for some light options because we were just killing time before ice bumper cars. Creamed corn bisque - quite good. I really appreciated the bits of bacon in the middle. Fried chicken sliders - cooked to perfection. A little salty, but that can be forgiven. You get 3 of them, which is perfect when you're sharing. Fries - I know fries are basic, but we all know how bad they can be when they're treated as such. What I love most about this place is that the fries are actually cut the same size and they actually put some effort into presentation. This place is absolutely gonna cost you a few bucks (especially if you order an entree) but you can enjoy it on a budget by sticking to the shareable items on the menu. read more

What a great experience, I stopped in for a quick drink and the employees made my entire evening! They really went out of the way to make sure I had a great time! The bar staff was friendly and fast. They made some outstanding drinks and held a nice conversation in the process. You could tell that they were very skilled, not showing any fatigue when things became busy. So this place is located inside a chain hotel made for tourists but goddammit this place is so Buffalo-inspired it would make the Pegulas uncomfy. With the view of the revitalized waterfront, and the cocktails named (aptly) 'Canalside' and 'Queen City,' to our extremely welcoming immigrant waiter, we felt very much at home. The menu was a bit limited but the burger of the day had blue cheese in it and was smothered in hot sauce. They have good appetizers and great things to share with your whole table. My party ended up getting only a few things before a Bisons game and it was the perfect start to our night. In the newly opened Marriott Canalside, this is a nice little spot on the 7th floor- which indeed offers a nice view. It serves as the hotel lobby/lobby bar- restaurant, but don't let that put you off. Really knowledgeable bartenders (e.g., they have an Aviation on their cocktail list and it was well made; next was a "smoked old fashioned" that he made for somebody else at the bar. Some good options on the menu here as well if you don't feel like venturing out on a rainy night. (Burgers, charcuterie boards, wings (of course)... Has a more upscale feel to the menu and ambiance, while still being welcoming for all. (If you care, a nice selection of Scotches and Bourbons.) Cheers. read more

Fancy upscale restaurant perfect for a date night or impressing coworkers. We had a group of 12 people and we shared the artisan bread and a few other apps. The wine list isn't that expansive, but it has a decent selection. I ordered the turkey BLT with truffle fries and it was really tasty. The only down side was that I really wanted a filet but the only option was 10 ounces. For the price of the menu, I would have hoped for more steak options. Our server was awesome! She was friendly and accommodating. I'm trying to think of something to compare to, to convey how dry our steak was. But I have never experienced something so dry. It's a Herculean task to get a ribeye that dry and somehow the kitchen accomplished that. I wish I had ordered the steak in 2010, because they could have used it to soak up the BP oil spill with how dry it was. Potato's were pretty good. Turkey dinners were inedible. This restaurant and bar is such class. After a Sabres game, we stopped in for a drink and to take in the city skyline views. Our bartender Osmond was such a nice guy, easy to talk to and made fantastic drinks. I ordered a "Smoke Old Fashioned" because honestly, I saw another customer order it and I really wanted to try it. Osmond infused the drink with cherry wood smoke, and oh my goodness, it was easily the best Old Fashioned I've ever had. The whole process was neat to watch. Truth be told, I'm not even an Old Fashioned guy but I'd order that every single time we go back. Complete with a large ball of ice, twist of orange in a tumbler. The staff at Panorama is amazing, their cocktails are fun and inventive, and the view is gorgeous. The food menu is good but most in my party didn't feel it was great so there's room to improve there. What we did enjoy were the prawns and charcuterie plate, both come with a delicious grilled bread. We ordered grilled vegetables as well and they are served chilled which surprised us. The passion fruit sorbet (seasonal) was also phenomenal. They serve their Manhattans with the large, slow melting sphere cube which my boyfriend appreciates and the drink itself is very well made (he's picky). Choose the free valet for parking but don't forget to tip! read more

Great scenic restaurant in the Marriott hotel. A bit $$$ but something you definitely try if you're feeling "ballerific." However, their menu has a vast range of options that most people will be able to digest as they have a bit of something for everyone. Their kids menu (off menu) also puts some places to shame. I can only speak to the sponge candy cheesecake and service. The cheesecake is fantastic, unique and something special that I haven't seen anywhere else. It was creamy, coated in chocolate and sprinkled with chunks of sponge candy; it is every bit as good as it sounds. The bartenders were really nice, accommodating and seem to know their stuff. We have been here twice, once in the winter to see the illuminated silos, which is when we found it accidentally. More recently we intentionally returned after seeing the world's largest duck. Both time it had enough patrons to be comfortable, well tended to and relaxed, but definitely not busy. I will return many times to this hidden gem for the cheesecake, if no other reason. read more

The pork chops were overcooked and dry. The French onion soup was sour and inedible. The sponge candy cheesecake was served too warm, the berry froth was tasteless and what fine dining restaurant uses chocolate syrup? Go the extra mile and serve with chocolate ganache! The only thing I would recommend is the filet. Cooked perfectly. For the money this restaurant needs to rethink how they prepare meals, maybe need to go take a cooking lesson. Just can't recommend other than for a drink at the bar. read more

This place is complicated to review. The food was outstanding. The servers were friendly and helpful. I was dining with my one-year-old daughter, and while she is very good in restaurants, servers are either accepting or not. The servers here went out of their way to accommodate us--even making her a special dessert. So why only three stars? The management is atrocious!! We were staying at the hotel across the street and I asked if we could order take out one day. The weather was cold and extremely windy and I wanted to limit my daughter's exposure to the elements. I was told "yes, no problem." The next day I placed our order and was given a total. When I arrived to pick up our food, there was a 30% room service charge on my bill. I informed them this was a carry out order and that I wasn't even staying at their hotel. They refused to remove it. The total they gave me over the phone did not include the room service charge or I would have cancelled the order then and there. Instead, they waited until it was too late. I argued with the management, but they said it was still considered room service. This place is expensive as it is, so 30% tacked on a good $18.00. While the food and service were good, it wasn't worth $18 for "room service" when I wasn't even a hotel guest. read more

This was our second time having dinner. We went once back in 2017. The food was good then and we had not had an opportunity to go back until this last weekend. The restaurant definitely has great views of Canalside and Lake Erie. To start, we had Caesar salads. I really liked the grilled lemon and the dressing was plentiful. I hate dry salads or ones that don't give you enough dressing. This was the perfect amount. For entrees we had the bone in pork chop and coq au vin. Both were delicious. I had a Logan berry cocktail. Flavor wise, it didn't do much for me but I could definitely feel the effects, which was a good thing in my opinion. I was a little disappointed that they did not have any bread offerings. They ran out of the focaccia from the starter menu. While I didn't need bread, I just feel like it is a nice way to round out a meal. Also, it was a little annoying hearing the hotel guests waiting for elevators. Some of the noise took away from the nicer dining experience. read more

We happened to stumble in to this restaurant after the Sabres game tonight, and I'm so glad that we did. The food and drinks were outstanding. My son had the steak and fries, my wife had the coq au vin Blanc, and I had the filet. Mind you, this was at around 10:00 at night, and the food was truly fantastic! But, what really made this meal excellent was our server, Joanna. The restaurant was busy after the game, but our service was incredible. Our food and beverages arrived promptly, always accompanied with a smile, and she checked on us frequently to make sure that we had everything that we possibly needed. Plus, Joanna found out that we traveled to Buffalo all the way from Arizona for my son's 11th birthday so that he could see his beloved Bills and Sabres (no idea how that happened!), and she could not have treated him better. She was so friendly and noticed his O'Reilly #90 jersey, and out of nowhere presented him with an O'Reilly hockey puck "for his birthday." He was so excited! Come for the view.... and stay for the food. I am not usually a fan of these hotel restaurants.... especially in my own city. But we had brunch plans with friends who were hosting out-of-town guests who wanted a water view. The setting is clean and bright and lovely. The service is friendly and efficient. The food is quite good as well. I had the crunchy french toast (crusted with cornflake crumbs) and served with sliced strawberries and bananas. The serving size was huge. And the (delicious) coffee was frequently refreshed. A great choice for wowing visitors. read more

We stopped in for a drink before a show at the nearby KeyBank Center. Overall, just an A-OK experience. We both ordered a glass of wine. We observed the menu prices as a certain amount, and when our bill came, we were charged nearly double per glass. Since it wasn't life or death, we just sucked it up and paid it. We didn't want to risk being late to our show, and we weren't seeing our server often, so we didn't know how long it would take to be fixed. Inconsistent menu-to-bill pricing is just a personal pet peeve of mine. Otherwise, it seemed like a cute place. For a bar inside a Marriott, it was surprisingly stylish. I loved the decor and the open concept. It was very contemporary and youthful. However, if you need any type of ergonomic seating, you might be out of luck here. They have mostly couch and low pillow-like seating. They do have tables with chairs, but they were roped off the night we were in. We asked for a chair, and there was some confusion about it. We were brought a stool. Eventually, a nice gentleman (i'm assuming the manager), brought a chair over. They also appear to have a food menu, though we didn't try anything. Not totally sure if i'll return in the future, but if I do, i'd be down to try something from their menu. read more

We got just a couple things from takeout. The first 3 things we tried to order they didn't have (soup, beet pasta, and another entree I can't remember) maybe cuz they are only doing take out right now they didn't prep everything but it left us having to pick other options real fast. The only other disappointment was the kale-bacon-caesar salad because it was mostly just dressing on leaves and didn't feel worth it's price. The bacon was delicious in it but it was scarce and the homemade dressing was very good but tasted more like a viniagrette than caesar. We had the seafood truffle Mac n cheese and the buffalo chicken sandwich. Both of these were great!! The sauce broke in the Mac n cheese but since it's takeout and there's a lot of butter or cream in the sauce that's to be expected it was still delicious and had our fav noodle for Mac n cheese, all hail cavatappi!! Who doesn't love biting into pasta and finding sauce inside the noodle, yum. The buffalo chicken sandwich was better than a lot of places generic version of it. The chicken was so moist and flavorful, the breading got a little soggy (again can't expect it to stay dry and super crispy with take out) but the breading had great seasoning and flavor. The hot sauce/ blue cheese had a more dynamic flavor profile than Franks so I'm thinking it's house made, it was great. My husband and I agree that the star of the sandwich was actually the celery slaw, so good. We got truffle fries with the sandwich, theyn were what you'd expect, nothing crazy different but solid. I was in town for business, and visited Panorama on 7 for dinner. The restaurant has a great vibe. I sat at the bar, and was efficiently served by the two bartenders. They worked as a team, and both checked on me regularly. That seems to be a lost art in many bars, and was good to see here. I had the salmon with risotto, in addition to a side of avocado. It was VERY good, and I would I highly recommend it. Their menu overall was excellent, and it was a difficult choice. The restaurant is small, but you get a great view while you are there. They have a large bar in the middle so you can either just go for a drink or a sit down meal. The staff seemed very attentive when we arrived and seated us. The restaurant only had a few tables full. We ordered drinks and looked over the menu. Some of us ordered starters and then the meal. The house salad was huge enough for a meal and the smoked chicken soup was different but tasty. Each time something was brought to the table another person brought it. Was asked if we wanted refills and said yes, but they never came so the next time someone passed we asked them to get them. Our meals came out and they were presented well and big portions. The hanger steak with truffle fries would have been very good if the steak wasn't over cooked and they had brought out a steak knife like they said. Waited a bit and the knife never came out so the others at the table were halfway done when one of them went to the bar to get a knife so I could cut my steak. The fries were delicious and the demi glaze was spectacular. The food was over all very good, but the service was lacking with them not being busy. Not sure I would run right back to come here again for dinner. The view may encourage me to come back for drinks at the bar. read more
