Five stars for the view! One of the best restaurant views in Buffalo! I scheduled sunset Christmas Eve dinner reservations here, and it was a great decision! The place was nicely decorated for the holidays. We got here early to watch the sunset over some drinks. Our drinks from the bar were festive and nicely made. We were seated for dinner at a nicely set table. Our waiter, hostess, bartender, and other staff were pleasant and gave us wonderful recommendations and information about the selections. The Christmas menu gave us a lot of options to choose from. We opted for the shareable bread (wow--this bread is unique and delicious) and a burrata appetizer (quite a bit scarce on the veggies--this is definitely NOT a salad). We ordered a unique salmon dinner cooked in paper with some veggies underneath (also unique, but not a ton of veggies), and I got the lobster tagliatelle--it was delicious, but I wish it was a larger portion. Props to Jimmy, our waiter - Super pleasant with great recommendations. Pros: The view! The ambiance is lovely. Some interesting menu selections. Cons: The ripped bar seats - all of them need to be replaced. Besides the shareable bread, the portions were quite small, and the wine was severely overpriced (our $48 bottle is normally $14). read more

This did not disappoint. It is in the Marriott next to Key Bank Center in Downtown Buffalo. The view is beautiful and the ambiance feels upscale. The dress code does allow for Buffalo Sabres gear as it is next to the hockey arena, but it's classic Buffalo, a bit of upscale charm with a touch of blue collar. LOL. Now to the food and service. Service was excellent, professional and prompt. There was a game next door the evening my friend and I stopped in, but the staff handled it well. There were so many interesting choices on the menu, and I decided on the Red Snapper. Not only was it delicious, the portion was generous. Especially when in many other places, the portions shrink as the price increased. I thought it was a good meal and value for what it cost. My dinner guest decided on the Honey Molasses Chicken and loved it. The flavor was unique, not too sweet, and cooked perfectly. For dessert, we shared the Dubai Dome which was really good. Sharing it was perfect due to the full portions of the meal and our appetizer of soup (French Onion which was also delicious) and bread (warm and delicious). The wine list is extensive and gives you options for glass vs bottle. All the prices are well within fine dining costs. You can have a good dinner, 3 courses (sharing a dessert), and a glass of wine for about $60 per person, with a small gratuity. Considering the upscale flavors, the ambiance, service the cost is incredibly inexpensive for what we received. I will be back to try some of the other tempting dishes. read more

Our hostess was super attentive and accommodating, especially since there was a 45+ minute wait for a table for four. She helped us find a comfortable spot where we could still order from the bar and enjoy full service, which we really appreciated. While everything was pleasant overall, I was expecting a bit more for the price point. I had the Filet Mignon and asked that it was cooked well done. It was cooked appropriately. The complaint with the meal was more with the whipped potatoes, gravy and spinach. The amount of gravy on it made the potatoes more like soup. I also had the soup of the day which was celery potato. I had to google exactly what this soup was suppose to be like because I felt like I was eating baby food to the extent that someone across the bar asked what I was eating. This is a BEAUTIFUL restaurant inside the Marriot hotel. Cocktails are amazing and I appreciate the blowtorch they used as a special touch to the rosemary in my loganberry cocktail. It was the perfect touch and an absolutely delicious drink! The food was soooo good. One of the best French onion soups I've ever had. I had the scallop risotto and it was so delicious! It would have been great to have one more scallop but the flavors were good. The risotto was so buttery and smooth. One of the best I've had in a while. It was a nice meal at a fancy restaurant... The only thing that threw it off from a perfect night was the disgusting windows. I mean .... Disgusting. I'll start with the good and great! The ambiance is picture-perfect. 7th floor of the Marriott such an amazing view. Defintely make sure seated on left side by the windows! The servers were very nice and attentive. The food for me was just average hotel bar food. I was expecting a more upscale food vibe. I definitely go back for the view cocktail and shareables for sure. The truffle potatoes were good. Just didn't get truffle taste. The burger was good, cooked how I asked. The turkey blt was a great portion. I didn't like the mayo on sandwhich with avocado, tho. The fries were perfect. The risotto was a pass for me, definitely wasn't cooked enough very hard. But I will say the flavor was there. The sharable were good, meatball was a little dry. I could be wrong, but I think they were fried and dried them out. The views overlooking the Harborcenter, marine areas, the harbor, and the waterway are spectacular, some of the most breathtaking and captivating to be found. Indeed, the atmosphere reminded me of the once Windows of the World. The restaurant and bar are of the most eye-appealing of modern décor. And as they say, marries Southern European flavors with locally sourced ingredients. The menu dishes range from comforting and traditional to lighter European fare, all of which are designed for guests to share. For my meal, I went for their scallops which came served atop a bed classic risotto sided with sautéed kale, and beurre blanc sauce. The scallops were of good size, fresh, and totally delicious. My partner had their Filet Mignon which was served with a truffle whipped potatoes, sautéed mushrooms, spinach, and a tasty blue cheese butter. For breakfast we both had their rather unique Beef on Weck Benedict with poached eggs, English muffin, shaved beef roast, tomato, arugula, horseradish hollandaise sauce, and breakfast potatoes. I've had lunch, snacks & dinner at Panorama. Nice view of the harbour while you're enjoying a meal. First time I was impressed with their food selection and the level of quality in preparation. I've returned on a few occasions and wouldn't hesitate to enjoy a meal anytime I'm in the area. Some of the waiters are really good, last few times the people we had struggled, not bringing items we ordered or lack of clarity on preparation. The focaccia was probably the best item. It was fluffy and flavorful. The views were nice, but the windows were dirty (on the outside) so the views were a bit obstructed which is sad cuz that's kinda the point of going there. Our server was prompt and polite. They have some weird policies here. The menu online does not match what they have at the restaurant. The actual menu at the restaurant was, in my opinion, very limited. There were no real vegetarian options. There was no chicken option, no pasta option. The options were steak or seafood. The next strange thing is that there was a table of three men sitting next to us and they asked to have their check split and the waitress told them she couldn't because it was against company policy. Not really a policy, but everything also took a really long time. We were there for 2 hours and 45 minutes, which is a little excessive. Lastly, they automatically added gratuity on to our bill. I've seen this before with a large party, but there were only 6 of us. I took my spouse here for a special birthday dinner and the restaurant did not disappoint. It is completely windowed, so there's always a view. We happened to be there at dusk and saw a blazing red sunset. Nice! The menu is varied and interesting. I would recommend the focaccia bread as a starter. The service and the restaurant itself are great, but the food was really bland, almost inedible. I'm only giving 2 stars because my drink was delicious. We got baby Caesar, lamb meatballs, bone in pork chop and scallops with risotto.. everything but the scallops were so unseasoned it was honestly not worth nearly what they charged. The scallops tasted okay, but definitely weren't cooked great. I ate one scallop off the plate and had him box it, and I made myself some food when I got home instead. The waiter was attentive and very polite. The air in the restaurant is elite and clean. We decided to head in for lunch while visiting the area for a boat tour and ride on the carousel. Our original plans were for dinner but as we were hungry for lunch we decided it was time. We were a group of 3 and decided to try to the appetizer menu...all of it. My dad got the French onion soup and Jo and I split a Caesar. We then proceeded to enjoy the rest of the shareable menu. Lamb meatballs, coriander carrots, octopus and the charcuterie board. My favorites were the carrots and lamb meatballs. The octopus was a little over cooked and chewy which all of us agreed upon. The charcuterie board could have been a little more plentiful but I did appreciate the marcona almonds. The carrots not only were cooked perfectly but the sauce and the roasted cold whatever it was that accompanied it was delicious. Sort of looked like a weird leek or onion or potentially even artichoke petals but it was delectable. The lamb meatballs were greatly seasoned and the mint yogurt and couscous was phenomenal. If the chef would work on the octopus game this would have garnered 5 stars. Next time we are up that way we will stop by once again to try the new menu! read more

For a hotel lobby bar, panorama on 7 is top tier! I've been for happy hour around 5 PM after work, and for lunch on a Tuesday at noon. The burrata with prosciutto, arugula and toast was delicious. Definitely the highlight of lunch. The bacon cheese burger was also really good, it was just a really thick, dense burger. Very filling, not a ton of flavor; but the cheese and bacon jam toppings had great flavor. Truffle fries were worth the couple dollars up charge to get on the side instead of regular fries. Coming back to Restaurants with marvelously breathtaking Views isn't always Promising but we manage to make it whenever we Can. This Meal was half enjoyable as on this Day back on March 28th of 2020, we were supposed to go and see the Buffalo Bandits host Saskatchewan Rush but unfortunately it got Canceled due to COVID. We (me, Cousin Mike and my Uncle Jim), Abby was supposed to come with us, but she stayed at Home. Took the Elevator up, was seated over by the Window looking out at Downtown Buffalo with Gloomy Grey Clouds looming over the city. What better way to begin a Meal than with some Drinks, I got the Loganberry Vibes which had Vodka, Wild Winter Berry Cordial, Citrus, Thyme & Rosemary. This drink was sporting a light purple nuance with a Jurassic sized Ice Cube and a Sprig of Rosemary, nice to know that I could get drunk off my favorite Childhood Soda. Jimmy got himself a Beer while Mike got himself a Cocktail (Room with a View). Consisting of Three Chords Bourbon, Tequila, Maple Syrup, Pineapple, Citrus & Ginger Beer. Tall drink, bright yellow with a Buddha's Hand on top as a Garnish. We first started off with some Venison Sliders, what better than a hunk of deer meat between 2 Buns with a Brussel Sprout Slaw, Blackberry Aioli and a Bacon Onion Jam. This would be a nice Winter Dish, sit back out on the Patio in the Cold and sip a piping Hot Chocolate. Next up was Espresso dusted Lamb Chops over a Carrot Puree and Braised Escarole. 5 Chops that were beautifully frenched inviting you to pick them up, bite on them and you get those sweet Caramel notes that meld well with the gamey flavor of the Lamb, Puree that was smooth as Butter and the Greens had some Bitterness. I got myself another Drink (Sweater Weather) which had Three Chord Rye Whiskey, Spiced Pear, Cinnamon, Orange & Angostura Bitters. This drink came with a Golden Color, another Jurassic sized Ice Cube and a slice of Candied Orange Peel. One of the most unique drinks that has a Fall feeling with its essence of Cinnamon lingering on your Palate. Next up was a bowl of Heirloom Tomato Bisque with a Grilled Cheese Stick on the side filled with Crabmeat. The Bisque was Rich, and the Cheese stick was perfect for Dipping, Mike also got a bowl of Carrot & Ginger Bisque (minus the Grilled Cheese Stick). For our Entrees, Mike ordered a Lamb Burger with Swiss Cheese, Tzatziki Sauce, Red Onion & Cucumber Slaw with a Salad. Jimmy got Filet Mignon with Butternut Squash, Fingerling Potato Hash and a Mushroom Bordelaise Sauce. Perfect Medium for him with rustic style Potatoes and an Earthy Sauce. For my Main Course I was plated the most elegant version of Lamb Stew, it was Lamb Ragu perched atop of Confit Potatoes with Heirloom Carrots, Roasted Mushrooms and garnished with chips of Minted Pea Puree. The Manager of Panorama told me that they infuse Fresh Peas and Chives in a blended oil and purees them. Then they strain them through a Coffee filter overnight, then they are mixed with AP Flour and a pinch of salt before being placed on the griddle to Cook. We happily finished our Meal with a palate cleansing Cherry Sorbet presented in a Martini Glass. Shame that we never got to watch the game that day, (that's probably why it was gloomy out). But at least we got to eat some great food, sure we were at the start of the COVID Pandemic, but we proceeded with Caution. As I've said before, Best Dinner with a View. !!! read more

The natural light in this space makes for a beautiful remote working spot so my two colleagues and I pulled up a spot at the communal style table, ordered coffees and worked until our appetites called for lunch. Throughout the entire coffee and then lunch experience, the staff was extremely hospitable and friendly. I especially enjoyed my soup and the cheese and charcuterie board that we shared. From the plentiful outlets to the great WiFi, this spot was made for cranking out work with an ideal atmosphere. Note that they also feature a full liquor bar with beautiful craft cocktails. Dessert was 2 cold skinned canned pears with a teaspoon of vanilla ice cream and some sort of cookie crumble. The pears looked like 2 unappetizing ovaries and tasted much worse. I would have given a higher review, but I ordered to short rib omelette with carmelized onions and cheese and it tasted horrible. Worst omelette I have ever had; not sure if it was the eggs, cheese or meat inside that were bad. It said it used short ribs in the omelet, but it definitely was not. When I shared this with the waiter, he apologized profusely, which I appreciated but still left it on my bill. Then, when I went to write a review on Open Table, they cancelled the reservation. Most over priced, awful breakfast I have had. Beautiful view though. And I still tipped him 25% because he was a kind waiter who was working hard. The medium steak was well done and fried and the lobster risotto was watery and unflavored. she never told us there was a problem and would look away when passing our table with food for others. I would only recommend this place for drinks/apps if you're staying in the restaurant and the Southern Tier isn't open. There's a nice bar in the middle to kind of act as a divider, but it just gives hotel lobby bar... because that's what it is. I feel like the photos I seen on the restaurant website as well as their socials led me to believe the restaurant was more of a separate space. Kind of cramped our celebratory energy as our group of 8 had to be really mindful of our volume and conversation with children and families walking past for the elevators and service desk. Now for my beef... pun intended lol. I ordered the filet mignon as my entrée. The steak was OK, but man, I expected so much more for what I read about this place. Our group also tried a variety of drinks and the charcuterie board. None of us were blown away by anything and would rate everything as just OK or even bad. Temperatures were off with some of the steaks, the same sides that were extremely hot on one of our plates were extremely cold on another of our plates. Made no sense having being brought out together. I think my expectations were high based on the price (about $300 for three of us) as well as the images I saw of the restaurant. I had my birthday dinner here this year after a sailboat ride along the river. The restaurant is clean, well decorated, and has friendly staff. We were here with another couple and ordered a ridiculous amount of shared dishes. Charcuterie, lamb meatballs, focaccia, truffle fries. These were all fabulous. My entree was the shrimp bucatini carbonara and it was beautiful but very disappointingly flavorless. I added a bunch of salt and it didn't improve things much. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their entrees though the rare steak arrived medium. Dessert was amazing however and my "birthday cake" was a chocolate cake with fresh strawberries, strawberry mouse, toasted marshmallow cream, and a drizzle of a very complimentary basil sauce. I would definitely come back for drinks and small plates. All the drinks were very well executed and interesting. They also had several flights of spirits for those of you that prefer that.
