The kitchen is happy to modify selections from the menu when requested. The staff is kind, and willing to accommodate special needs while dining to provide an enjoyable dining experience. We moved to Fairfax a few weeks ago and have tried a bunch of thai restaurants but Panisa is the best in my opinion! I love their Pad Khing it's so rich and flavorful and an enormous portion. I also thing they have the most delicious homemade noodles I tried their Pad See Ew this week and it was amazing! Spring rolls are good and crispy, and the Tom Kha Gai soup is the perfect thing when I'm feeling sick. Highly recommend this restaurant for anyone craving good thai food! read more

Since I wrote my initial review FIVE FREAKING YEARS AGO, something that makes me A) question everything about myself because I swear I have not even lived in Burke for that long (but I have) and B) I am not old enough to be able to forget something that happened 5 years ago yet (but I am), I'd say an update is oh-so-necessary at this point. Panisa Thai is pretty much the go-to Thai restaurant in all of Burke -- the staff is very nice, the ambiance lovely, and the food is tasty. I so desperately, DESPERATELY wish that they delivered, because I swear we would be ordering from them sooooooo much if that were the case, but as it is what it is, things are still pretty good, especially for a spot so close to home. I like their panang curry a lot, their pad see ew, and their pad thai definitely hits the spot when the craving strikes. I love Panisa! I've been here more times than I can count (of course this is also largely due to the fact that it's super conveniently located for me, but still) and the number is only going to continue to grow. Panisa sort of has it all - amazing customer service (the staff is always so incredibly sweet - I don't think I've ever come across a rude person), yummy yummy food, and a nice ambiance. It works for almost any kind of occasion, from casual to celebrating something, and is definitely one of my favorite Thai restaurants in the area. I've tried a lot of things here over the years: Chicken Satay, Tom Yum Soup, Thai Iced Tea, Green Curry, Panang Curry, Drunken Noodles, Mango Sticky Rice, etc. My personal favorites are the Green Curry and Mango Sticky Rice - so, so good! During my most recent visit, one of our dishes was not prepared right, but when I pointed it out, they more than made up for it, so no complaints there. I do wish the Thai Iced Tea was a little less sweet, but that's a minor detail - bottom line is I always leave here full and happy! read more

service was very good- restaurant mostly empty on Saturday eve 8:30. ordered green papaya salad dressing was very tasty but spice was not mixed through properly - it comes with shrimp - which were not cooked , still translucent. also the shrimp with the panang curry were not good- very jellylike - similar to precooked ring shrimp from grocery store, horrible texture.curry sauce was exceptionally delicious. again had same weird texture shrimp with the Pad Thai also was a bit too sweet . There were no garnishes on the Pad Thai like lime wedges and cilantro or crushed peanuts on top. I took the shrimp home from the papaya salad and reheated on stove top and it turned a whitish-pink, proof that they were not cooked enough! I've been coming here for the past 6 years. The food is always clean, fresh, fragrant and delicious. The Devore is cozy yet casual. There is a bar in the back and private dining area. The staff is always friendly, very courteous and always bring a smile to your order. I recommend trying the Hank's Beef Noodle soup to get over the winter blues. Seriously though try everything it's amazing. My other favorite is the papaya salad, not too salty, perfect marination, tanginess, and crunch. read more

I was excited to try this restaurant due to the high ratings. We ordered pad see ew, curried noodles, basil fried rice, spring rolls, tucked shrimp, tom yum, and yum nua. The tucked shrimp was fun to eat, crunchy on the outside and juicy shrimp inside. The Tom yum was basic but passable. The yum nua dressing had good flavor. My biggest complaint was the preparation of the meat for the dishes. I'm each dish I ordered, the meat was tough and flavorless. It was unappetizing to the degree that I ate around the meat. Other issues included soggy fried rice and the curried noodles didn't have the dynamic flavors I'd expect in Thai food. Perhaps there needs to be some acid component and more herbs (lime and cilantro?) it's so hard to find a great Thai place around here... the search continues. read more

My favorite spot in Fairfax/Burke for Thai food. Their menu isn't huge but I like most of the dishes that I've had including the pad thai, fantasy fried rice, and Pad Kraprow. My biggest complaint is they really need a better system for ordering takeout. We've tried to order multiple times during CV-19 and either the phone line is busy or rings with no pickup. Please invest in some online ordering system so I can give you my business. I don't want to spend 20 minutes trying to call back and get through, I'll just move on. read more

I came here with my family who were visiting from out of town. We came on a Saturday evening around 6:30pm and to my surprise the place was packed. We did have a short wait of 20 minutes. The restaurant is a bit quaint and the seating seems to be a bit close but I didn't feel too crowded. We all ordered the wonton soup as an appetizer and I got the mixed vegetables dish as my main dish. Everything was delicious and the service was great! Even though they were busy we didn't have to wait too long for our food. If I'm ever in the area again I'd deff revisit. I actually wish they were a little bit closer to MD because this place is one of the better Thai places that I've had. read more

We walked in on a Friday night at 7pm without a reservation. There was plenty of parking in the plaza and we were seated immediately. The food is reasonably priced, well portioned, and comforting. Since this restaurant changed management several years ago along with a name change, it has only gotten better. This is my go-to Thai restaurant. I have had many birthday dinners there, big and small. I even reserved a back room for my birthday. The chicken Pad Thai is on point. Lots of great appetizer options. My husband enjoys the Thai Iced Tea. My mother-in-law loves the Pineapple mixed rice. I love their Sticky Rice with mango slices as a dessert. Staff is friendly and kitchen staff is quick. Came in late on a Sunday evening. Unbeknownst to me, it was very close to their closing time, but the hostess didn't say a word and sat us down. The menu is typical Thai fare, with all the staples you'd expect. My friend and I enjoyed the Lemongrass soup with Shrimp, Chicken Fried Rice, and the Shrimp Pad Thai. The food came out very quickly and was very, very tasty. I asked for my Pad Thai spicy, and it was totally on point with the level of heat. I've eaten my share of Pad Thai in my time, and this was right up there with the best. I hadn't realized that we were there after closing and apologized, but the staff seemed unfazed by our presence. I have been here a few times so it's more composite with a specific rating on my last order. Food is ok to good. I went here one day with some co-workers for lunch and they refused the lunch menu because it was a "holiday" but I was working so it wasn't a huge one. Anyway, we thought that was kind of annoying and rude. The last time I went, it was a pick-up order closer to closing time. Massaman curry was just the sauce, meat, undercooked potatoes (ick) and tons of onions and maybe one almond slivered into millions of pieces. Tom Kha soup was super sour and not spicy at all. Mushrooms and tomatoes were barely cooked so I get the impression it is pre-made stock and veggies thrown in for a couple minutes. This place is by far my family's favorite Thai restaurant! The service is quick and the staff is very personable and accommodating. All of the dishes are hits and tend to lean on the non-spicy side so no worries for those of you who cannot eat spicy food. Panisa Thai is so good that anything less than this that I try elsewhere is just subpar or awful. I will always be a loyal customer! This was my first time here and I was rather surprised by the food here. To me this is one of the better Thai places around the area. They have a large space with decent seating and a small bar area. They offer your standard Thai cuisine fair along with their own specials and their own takes on certain Thai dishes. I have never seen Grilled Chicken Meatballs on a Thai menu before so we decided to give it a shot and it was pretty good. The chicken meatballs had a good bite to them and it was still juicy. A fair warning here is that the sauce that it comes with is rather spicy. For the entree I got their Pad See Ew and it was pretty good. Good flavors and the noodles were cooked just right with good bite and not mushy. The beef and vegetables were cooked just right as well. Overall it was a pretty good dish and I would give Panisa 3.5 stars. read more
