Quiet on Sunday at 4:30. While the snow melted and washed away the snow (FINALLY) I ventured out…read morefor some General Tso's chicken. Ever notice Chinese food places never advertise? But wait. My go-to spot suddenly closed, leaving me in a bit of a lurch! Where do I go?! We all have our favorite Chinese restaurant, and when we can't go to that one there's a little bit of a conundrum. I take American Chinese food seriously - which really means I order the same thing 98% of the time because that's my GO TO meal. As an intellectual, that is of course General Tso's chicken. Beijing Tokyo blends north and south Asia into a rather cozy, strip mall location. One person was talking obliviously on her cell phone, while the sushi Chef took orders. Until Yelp asked me if this place was romantic, I hadn't actually thought about it that way. But it is a little romantic. The tables are close together, the light is low, even if this place was full it would be... Cozy. A Chinese restaurant that's cozy is a very short leap to romantic. You can have a conversation here. I ordered my usual and waited about 10 minutes. The GTC was excellent. It had spice and flavor, but not too spicy. The fried rice was delicious. Good portion size and a good price. Two egg rolls and the total came to $25.25. No surprises, nothing out of the ordinary. If you had told me this had come from my favorite- now sadly closed - Chinese restaurant, I would have never known the difference. And there in lies what I think makes a good Chinese restaurant: predictability. American Chinese food is a distinct cuisine with the same menus, the same waving Buddah and melamine plates. The difference is quality, and the taste of your favorite meal. I am sad that my favorite place closed, but Beijing Tokyo is my new Chinese food restaurant, and I think it's pretty darn good.

Have not been here in 11 years and got food to go and was still yummy!…read more Food- Egg Drop Soup-good flavor. Just didn't like that they give you packaged crispy noodles instead of fresh made ones Dumplings-good taste and flavorful dipping sauce Egg roll-standard Crispy chicken proper- asked for it extra saucy and no spice. And both requests were honored. Service was very nice even on a busy Wednesday night (Thanksgiving Eve) Ambiance- It's not overly large inside but there are about 8 tables for inside dining.

I like the speed and accuracy of order completion, but the food did not taste that great. General Tso's Chicken had too much batter with very lttle chicken meat on some pieces. And, It was not crispy -- probably soggy because it was sealed in a plastic to-go container. And, the chicken lo mein was bland. Chicken corn soup was tasty with lots of chicken and egg ingredients. Small place with old furniture. I noticed the bottom legs of all the chairs were rusted.

This has become our local go-to place for carry out Chinese in the Burke area. You can sit down to…read moreeat but it's mostly set up for carry out. Still, it's perfectly fine for sit down. The food here is above average for American style Chinese takeout. Portions are generous. I like the kung pow chicken. My husband likes the twice cooked pork, which is made with roast pork. Fried rice is good. We also like the hot and sour soup. My husband loves their fried egg roll, but I personally find it average. The dumplings are handmade, steamed or pan fried...thick dough and filling- mostly average. Service is always very friendly, as this is a family run business. Double check your order for accuracy-this can be a concern. It's a solid enough place, I'd give it 3-4 stars. It's the best option in the Burke area, imo.

We ordered the egg drop soup, crispy beef (perfect texture with sweet sauce), and shrimp fried rice (so filling and delicious)! We will surely be back when we're in town, and can't wait to try their noodle dishes and wontons. Super delicious spot for takeout or sit down dining.

Lovely little Chinese takeaway right on the sidelines of the Old Fairfax town center. Lots of…read more"classic" dishes and they're all bangers. The place itself is quite small for dine in, but I'm pretty sure that's not their target so we were able to get a seat for 2 pretty easily on a Friday evening. We got mostly "ABC" comfort foods - orange chicken, Yangzhou fried rice, Singapore rice noodles - and an order of their dumplings in spicy sauce (a bit surprising as it's a more northern China style compared to the rest of menu). It was definitely a bit much for just 2 of us but we intended to take home leftovers. All of it was delicious, cooked to spec, but what really makes them stand out is their superior "wok-hei"; it is the soul of wok-style dishes and compliments to the chef(s) - they absolutely know their craft and it shines in the flavor. This craftsmanship is lost in the new generation and it's a real treat to see it preserved here out of all places. Dumplings were splendid. Juicy and handmade, definitely hits that nostalgic nook from the back of your head. tldr; charming Chinese takeout spot with superb wok-hei in their dishes

The place was filling up and the ambiance reminds me of a traditional bustling noodle house - perfect for the cold snap we were experiencing at the time. We got hot and sour noodle soup, sichuan beef noodle soup, and an order of their pork soup dumplings. Portions are generous and prices are fair, it's easy to become a regular here if you live nearby. The hot and sour noodle soup is as advertised - just enough spice to complement the sour, but not overwhelm to make it feel like mala. It's served, as expected, with glass noodles, some bak choi, and some pork slices. Nothing spectacular but par for the course. The sichuan beef noodle foon soup was slight notch better. The broth gives really warm vibe and you can tell it's been brothing for a long time. Again just the right amount of spicy to make you keep slurping for more. The noodles were average, chewy, but not bouncy. Also comes with a healthy amount beef slices and bak choi. Again - a great noodle soup bowl but nothing jaw dropping. Soup dumplings were fantastic, however. The pork definitely has its own marinade and the soup is flavorful. The dumpling skin is well constructed and complemented well with the noodle soups - especially in cold weather. tldr; solid noodle soup spot, they seem to be consistent and really hits the mark when you're in a for your noodle fix. Soup dumplings are probably a must get side dish with whatever your main is

I had the szechuan beef noodle soup - the beef was tender alongside its tasty noodles and savoury broth. The scallion pancakes were solid and crunchy.
