I've heard good things about this neighborhood sushi spot in Burke, and we finally decided to stop by. Immediately I noticed some customers who come here all the time, and were chatting it up with our waiter. We ordered a couple of rolls and two spicy tuna hand rolls. Man, that's some of the best spicy tuna I have ever had! It was fresh and perfectly seasoned. Just for this we would easily go back! I also hear they have some lunch specials and I would like to try that sometime!

The sushi is fairly delicious, with lots of variety and fairly quick service time. The staff and owner are super nice and accommodating, and have never messed up my order.

A couple of friends from work and I came here right after we left work. We had been in constant meetings today, and we barely even had a break to get coffee, so decent food was on everyone's mind. We were greeted pretty fast and then we immediately began to review the menu. There were a lot of items on the menu which I had never seen before and I wanted to keep my dinner meal simple, so I ordered the spicey California roll platter. One of my friends ordered the tuna rolls which was also appealing. They also offer other types of Chinese food as well, and I was almost tempted to get beef and broccoli. However, since everyone else ordered sushi, I did the same. The California rolls were made on the spot, as was the rest of our meals. The food and dining experience was awesome!

I came here as a party of five for lunch. Arrived little after 1130am, there was one other table at the time. We placed our order for the shrimp and vegetable tempura, and a selection of sushi rolls. The tempura order came out first, and within minutes the staff rushed us to clear the plates to make room for the sushi. The sushi didn't come out for another 20 minutes. The tempura had the light crunch. The Yami Yami Roll is essentially a "sushi bake". As for the raw fish, it was missing the slight firmness it should have when you bite into it.

Why is their sushi so big? Not complaining though. We all know you'll be spending a little bit more than you'd like when taking on a sushi restaurant, but Fortune House puts you at ease at the sheer size of their sushi. You are really getting your money's worth and I very much appreciated that. Not only that, the quality did not suffer due to the size and the owners/staff were extremely kind. The owner (head chef) even waved at the camera as I was filming my ginormous Sushi. Love this place!

    A mouthful right here ;)

A true gem out here in Burke, Virginia. I have visited this place multiple times and enjoyed myself every time. Their specialty rolls are GIANT and I made the mistake of over-ordering the first time I tried this place. Two orders will make you super full and that's a good deal. What's even more amazing than the sushi, are the owners. They remember each and every customers face and even strike up conversation with all of their patrons. I learned they have been open for 20+ years and I hope they stay open for another 20 years! :)

Alaska roll and crunchy spicy salmon roll

Honestly, i was dissapointed. Food was not terrible but from the sushi i have consumed it is at the bottom of the list and i didnt have one on the list that i wouldnt recommend. Service was below average too, owners were very nice though, i think i caught them during their break at 3:30pm.. ambiance was fine i guess. I probably wont go back, especially the food being overpriced with what i just ate. I had the alaska roll, spicy crunchy salmon roll, and miso soup. Let me say the salmon roll and alaska roll were fresh the meat was good, but each roll fell apart. Something tasted off to me, i couldnt tell. Meat was 100% fresh though. I enjoyed that.

Extra fish on the right side that we didnt even ask for, but no complaints here! :)

My 2 friends and I got take out from here. I saw them prepare everything on the spot. Everything tasted very fresh. The nigiri and rolls are HUGE! They also gave us extra fish! The 3 of us couldn't finish this platter. Highly recommend! I will definitely come back for more nigiri :)

Had such a wonderful experience. A small-ish family owned restaurant that serves great sushi. Cannot believe I've missed it. Tbh the exterior is so deceiving because I've never thought twice breezing by but now I'm a changed woman ! We got a bunch of nirigi and 2 rolls and got a lil sashimi and miso soup. We didn't realize how big the plate was going to be bc we were SOOO stuffed. it was insanity. The fish cuts were FAT and PERFECT. so good. will be coming back. love.

But wait. My go-to spot suddenly closed, leaving me in a bit of a lurch! Where do I go?! We all have our favorite Chinese restaurant, and when we can't go to that one there's a little bit of a conundrum. I take American Chinese food seriously - which really means I order the same thing 98% of the time because that's my GO TO meal. As an intellectual, that is of course General Tso's chicken. Beijing Tokyo blends north and south Asia into a rather cozy, strip mall location. One person was talking obliviously on her cell phone, while the sushi Chef took orders. Until Yelp asked me if this place was romantic, I hadn't actually thought about it that way. But it is a little romantic. The tables are close together, the light is low, even if this place was full it would be... Cozy. A Chinese restaurant that's cozy is a very short leap to romantic. You can have a conversation here. I ordered my usual and waited about 10 minutes. The GTC was excellent. It had spice and flavor, but not too spicy. The fried rice was delicious. Good portion size and a good price. Two egg rolls and the total came to $25.25. No surprises, nothing out of the ordinary. If you had told me this had come from my favorite- now sadly closed - Chinese restaurant, I would have never known the difference. And there in lies what I think makes a good Chinese restaurant: predictability. American Chinese food is a distinct cuisine with the same menus, the same waving Buddah and melamine plates. The difference is quality, and the taste of your favorite meal. I am sad that my favorite place closed, but Beijing Tokyo is my new Chinese food restaurant, and I think it's pretty darn good.

Decided hibachi would be fun for a family gathering. Found this place randomly and returned 3x. They accept walk-in's and take reservations. It's easy to make reservations either online on their website or placing a phone call. All the employees here are very friendly and service was efficient. They have a waiting area near the front if your table is not ready. The first time we came we didn't make reservations and since it was a weekend, we waited 30 mins roughly. It wasn't too bad because the waiting area had seats, a tv, and decor to keep you relaxed while waiting. We've had 2 different chefs the 3x we went. I think the employees here have a good memory bc they recognized us the third time we went. We don't go consistently back to back so we were surprised considering it gets busy there and it's next to college, I imagine they get different people in and out. I find the chefs are very fun and go with the flow of the table. One night we went it was a quieter crowd so they adjusted to that temperament. They do the same fun tricks that get a laugh. The consistency in quality of the food was great. All three times had no issues with the food. They make note of your allergies which is great as one person in our party was allergic to seafood. The portion size is really good that if you decided to have an appetizer you could probably save half of your food to take home. I've gotten steak all three times, people in my party did steak and scallops. No complaints. You get soup and salad with your hibachi picks. And it comes with fried rice or white rice, noodles, shrimp, and veggies. I haven't tied the sushi but plan to try it next time I go. Passing by the area where people ordered sushi I will say it looked amazing. I find you get what you paid for here and it's worth it. I wish I did get some photos but we were so busy easy and enjoying our time it slipped my mind.

As kind of a takeoff on the typical 1950's diner theme, BGR has an 80's rock theme, both in the music they play and the wall decorations. You go to the counter, place your order and they give you a buzzer to alert you that your meal is ready. I ordered the basic "The Burger". I like that in placing your order, you can explicitly specify what condiments and toppings you want on your burger. I also appreciate that each table has its own set of condiments and paper towels. Okay, cutting to the chase, how was my burger? In a big way, it comes down to if you prefer flame-broiled or griddle-cooked meat. Myself, I prefer griddle-cooked. Flame-broiled reminds me of Burger King burgers. BGR burgers are flame-broiled, so I don't love the taste of BGR meat, but it's still good. So If you like flame-broiled, you'll love BGR burgers. I was kinda surprised at the burger bun. It looked like a Brioche bun which is notorious for falling apart, but the BGR bun is sturdy and holds up well. The toppings, including grilled onions, were great. So overall, a very good burger. Yeah, all things considered, I'll be back.
