I've heard good things about this neighborhood sushi spot in Burke, and we finally decided to stop by. Immediately I noticed some customers who come here all the time, and were chatting it up with our waiter. We ordered a couple of rolls and two spicy tuna hand rolls. Man, that's some of the best spicy tuna I have ever had! It was fresh and perfectly seasoned. Just for this we would easily go back! I also hear they have some lunch specials and I would like to try that sometime!

The sushi is fairly delicious, with lots of variety and fairly quick service time. The staff and owner are super nice and accommodating, and have never messed up my order.

A couple of friends from work and I came here right after we left work. We had been in constant meetings today, and we barely even had a break to get coffee, so decent food was on everyone's mind. We were greeted pretty fast and then we immediately began to review the menu. There were a lot of items on the menu which I had never seen before and I wanted to keep my dinner meal simple, so I ordered the spicey California roll platter. One of my friends ordered the tuna rolls which was also appealing. They also offer other types of Chinese food as well, and I was almost tempted to get beef and broccoli. However, since everyone else ordered sushi, I did the same. The California rolls were made on the spot, as was the rest of our meals. The food and dining experience was awesome!

I came here as a party of five for lunch. Arrived little after 1130am, there was one other table at the time. We placed our order for the shrimp and vegetable tempura, and a selection of sushi rolls. The tempura order came out first, and within minutes the staff rushed us to clear the plates to make room for the sushi. The sushi didn't come out for another 20 minutes. The tempura had the light crunch. The Yami Yami Roll is essentially a "sushi bake". As for the raw fish, it was missing the slight firmness it should have when you bite into it.

Lunch with Barry and cousin from Bermuda had a great time eating our way through afternoon Toro delivery. Thursday is the best day to come.

Why is their sushi so big? Not complaining though. We all know you'll be spending a little bit more than you'd like when taking on a sushi restaurant, but Fortune House puts you at ease at the sheer size of their sushi. You are really getting your money's worth and I very much appreciated that. Not only that, the quality did not suffer due to the size and the owners/staff were extremely kind. The owner (head chef) even waved at the camera as I was filming my ginormous Sushi. Love this place!

A mouthful right here ;)

A true gem out here in Burke, Virginia. I have visited this place multiple times and enjoyed myself every time. Their specialty rolls are GIANT and I made the mistake of over-ordering the first time I tried this place. Two orders will make you super full and that's a good deal. What's even more amazing than the sushi, are the owners. They remember each and every customers face and even strike up conversation with all of their patrons. I learned they have been open for 20+ years and I hope they stay open for another 20 years! :)

Alaska roll and crunchy spicy salmon roll

Honestly, i was dissapointed. Food was not terrible but from the sushi i have consumed it is at the bottom of the list and i didnt have one on the list that i wouldnt recommend. Service was below average too, owners were very nice though, i think i caught them during their break at 3:30pm.. ambiance was fine i guess. I probably wont go back, especially the food being overpriced with what i just ate. I had the alaska roll, spicy crunchy salmon roll, and miso soup. Let me say the salmon roll and alaska roll were fresh the meat was good, but each roll fell apart. Something tasted off to me, i couldnt tell. Meat was 100% fresh though. I enjoyed that.

Extra fish on the right side that we didnt even ask for, but no complaints here! :)

My 2 friends and I got take out from here. I saw them prepare everything on the spot. Everything tasted very fresh. The nigiri and rolls are HUGE! They also gave us extra fish! The 3 of us couldn't finish this platter. Highly recommend! I will definitely come back for more nigiri :)

Had such a wonderful experience. A small-ish family owned restaurant that serves great sushi. Cannot believe I've missed it. Tbh the exterior is so deceiving because I've never thought twice breezing by but now I'm a changed woman ! We got a bunch of nirigi and 2 rolls and got a lil sashimi and miso soup. We didn't realize how big the plate was going to be bc we were SOOO stuffed. it was insanity. The fish cuts were FAT and PERFECT. so good. will be coming back. love.

Beijing Tokyo - Orange Chicken and General Tso's Chicken

Quiet on Sunday at 4:30. While the snow melted and washed away the snow (FINALLY) I ventured out…read morefor some General Tso's chicken. Ever notice Chinese food places never advertise? But wait. My go-to spot suddenly closed, leaving me in a bit of a lurch! Where do I go?! We all have our favorite Chinese restaurant, and when we can't go to that one there's a little bit of a conundrum. I take American Chinese food seriously - which really means I order the same thing 98% of the time because that's my GO TO meal. As an intellectual, that is of course General Tso's chicken. Beijing Tokyo blends north and south Asia into a rather cozy, strip mall location. One person was talking obliviously on her cell phone, while the sushi Chef took orders. Until Yelp asked me if this place was romantic, I hadn't actually thought about it that way. But it is a little romantic. The tables are close together, the light is low, even if this place was full it would be... Cozy. A Chinese restaurant that's cozy is a very short leap to romantic. You can have a conversation here. I ordered my usual and waited about 10 minutes. The GTC was excellent. It had spice and flavor, but not too spicy. The fried rice was delicious. Good portion size and a good price. Two egg rolls and the total came to $25.25. No surprises, nothing out of the ordinary. If you had told me this had come from my favorite- now sadly closed - Chinese restaurant, I would have never known the difference. And there in lies what I think makes a good Chinese restaurant: predictability. American Chinese food is a distinct cuisine with the same menus, the same waving Buddah and melamine plates. The difference is quality, and the taste of your favorite meal. I am sad that my favorite place closed, but Beijing Tokyo is my new Chinese food restaurant, and I think it's pretty darn good.

While it is a little small it has a charming interior that feels as if you've been transported to Japan. The chairs are super comfy and the plates are adorable! The service is great, if you have allergies they will try their best to accommodate you. It's wonderful! I had the orange chicken, my brother got the general tso's, and my sister got beef lo mein. We had the spring rolls and sichuan cabbage for appetizers. The spring rolls were very light and had a delicious flavor, the cabbage was the perfect blend of spicy and sour and makes for a great palette cleanser. Both of the chickens were great, the coating wasn't thick and the sauce had a nice flavor. The lo mein noodles, oh boy you gotta try those. They're not only delicious but they don't taste greasy like some other places. And finally let's talk portion size, they give a very generous amount of food. Literally depending on how much you eat you'll make 2-3 meals out of it. Seriously don't skip this place, it's a hidden treasure. The only unfortunate thing is that they don't serve tea BUT they will get you warm water. P.S the dessert is a MUST

The YiPin fried rice received two thumbs up from a teen. We sat near the front window, which currently has blinking lights around it. From the outside the lights are appealing, but I discourage anyone with any sensory sensitivity from sitting where the lights are visible. There is seating behind a wall where the lights would be blocked from view. We got used to the lights after a short time and no one in our party was bothered by them, but even the teens commented that the lights would bother some people. The service was adequate. The two people working the front of the restaurant were courteous and welcoming. They brought water without us requesting it and were quick to put in our appetizer order. The food came out in a reasonable time and our water was refilled once while we ate. I had to get the wait staff's attention more than once during our visit (to order dessert and pay the bill), which for me signals the wait staff isn't paying enough attention. They were slow to bring me the check so we could pay and leave. I am going to be optimistic that the service will improve in needed ways as the staff gain more experience and learn how to better manage multiple tables. We hope to add YiPin to our family's shortlist of go-to eateries and we will be back to explore the menu further.

Probably a max of 20-24 customers at a time and it was very intimate. Like many of the restaurant stalls in Japan. It was very cultural and the staff spoke Japanese. The service was amazing as there were on their toes to make sure we were happy. There was no designated waiter/waitress, the team work was perfect. The food was made to perfect and the freshness of the uni and salmon were as if they were fishing it from the back door. We ordered some miso soup, fried squid, salmon nigiri and sashimi, uni, salmon belly nigiri and of course a couple of classic beers. Salmon nigiri and sashimi was generously cut and amazingly fresh. With the temperature perfectly chilled to it melting in your mouth, it was as if we were in Japan. The Uni was even more amazing!! Properly chilled and the creamy texture was beyond perfect. Salmon belly nigiri was succulent and writing this review makes me want to take that 2 hr commute for another round. I forgot to mention the fried squid/calimari. Not many will understand this but the tempura batter was perfectly dipped and the tender texture was amazing. It was not out of a bag, it was freshly cut, battered, and fried there. It was an amazing experience and we will be back for more excitement.
