I got the Buffalo chicken wrap and it was so good, the chicken was cooked fresh and it had a crunch that made it so enjoyable to eat. The Greek salad is simple but taste fresh. My friend got the steak sub and it taste better than most restaurants, meat had lots of flavor. The owner of the restaurant is a friendly nice man. Hungry one afternoon with some time for lunch, I sought out looking for cheap eats in Burke. Strolling around in Burke town center, I walked into Smith's as I saw a decent amount of people eating and was curious as I don't regularly go to brunch spots. Thinking I had to try the chicken they were known for, I settled on a chicken tender wrap. Taking my first bites, I was greeted with a lightly breaded chicken with a balanced amount of sauce, just enough to taste it but not enough to take attention from the well-seasoned chicken in the wrap. Typically my favorite part of fried chicken is the texture but surprisingly I'm still very happy with this as the breading seemed intentional and overall it was well executed. On my next visit, I was running low on time but still wanted to try more of the menu so I put in an early pickup order of the turkey club sandwich. As I hadn't seen the pictures, the portion was a big surprise as I opened the box. Nicely cut sandwiches sat with a good quarter of turkey along with thin slices of tomatoes, textured bacon, and lettuce. Compliments to the person who makes the sandwiches at Smith and Clarkson although the sandwich is pretty big, the way they cleanly put it together and portioned it meant you never had parts of it falling out as you ate. Simply put, a basic but very well-made sandwich. Smith and Clarksons is a staple stop in Burke and has just become mine too, with their well-made food at reasonable prices (Chicken Wrap 9.89 & Turkey Club 11.99). Paid extra for bacon and got chopped bacon pieces for 2.79. Counter person grunted , no apology , poor attitude. Didn't have another 20 minutes to wait for a refire. Breakfast has a variety of options and even a regular old breakfast sandwich (Egg over hard, ham (bacon or sausage available), and cheese on a toasted & buttered English muffin) really hit the spot! The lunch menu has a wide variety of both hot and cold sandwiches, wraps, salads, and a few specialty Asian dishes. Typically there is a sandwich special and a plate special-both always sound delicious! Portions are large and prices are very reasonable. The only thing that is important to note is your food may take awhile because it seems they have consistent staffing issues. This is the quintessential Mom & Pop diner. It's a couple and probably their son and another worker that make up the whole staff. The food is absolutely fantastic . The main drawback is that when the diner gets busy, the wait for your food gets a little long. The only upside to that is the food is worth the wait. I haven't had anything bad there at all. I highly recommend this diner, but if you can avoid the busy times (like weekend lunch, etc.) you'll get the fantastic food quicker. Ordered 15 pancakes from here for a party and the entire bottom row was stuck to paper they added at the bottom. Basically useless bottom row. We came back to show the owner and explain that in the future they should avoid using the paper because it ruined the pancakes. The response we got was "ok"!!!!!! No apologies no offer of credit! I came in here yesterday around 4:00 for an early dinner. I got the S&C burger, some chicken soup, some sea salt chips, and a Barq's root beer. The total was a little less than $20.00. Mom and dad merged with the kids to create this quick stop of a cafe. I wouldn't call it a deli, as the outside signage states. It's simple, it's fast, it's tasty! There is a blown up sign by the door as you walk in, direct to the counter. You order your food and pay at the counter, then someone hands you a numbered signage for your table. I had enough time to prepare my coffee and have a chat before my food arrived. That was the easy part. Choosing what to eat... it takes skill. The pancakes, waffles, and French toast have a lovely buttery, melt in your mouth quality, with a hint of cinnamon. The butter on top is whipped and begs for you to spread it around. I've been here a few times and loved it each time. The sandwiches are huge and I struggle to finish even half of one. So far, we have loved the burger, chicken frisco, and the turkey club. The fries were crunchy and salty (in a good way). The matzo ball Soup was flavorful and perfect on a cold day. My favorite, though, might have to be the thick cut potato chips- you can tell they're made right in the back. Soooooo good! My local neighborhood Facebook group had a few great reviews of this place. We decided to visit for a quick lunch. Parking lot is shared with the entire Walmart shopping population. Menu consisted of sandwiches, some Asian dishes and other items. We ordered sandwiches and fries for our quick meal. They were average not overly memorable. The sides(fries) were a very small portion. I'm not sure whether they were recently acquired by someone else or not. Service was spotty. It had a nice sauce that tasted like it had some gochujang in it but it was not overly spicy. The meat was juicy and the portion was so large it was hanging outside of the kaiser bun. It was a lot! It was actually 2 large pieces of chicken! The pickled radish in the sandwich was tasty too. I recently ate the spicy chicken sandwich at Hangry Joe's and I think I preferred this one bc my lips weren't on fire from eating it! And it was only $8.99, great deal.
