I went here right after work and I did check the reviews beforehand. I was hoping I would have a different experience but unfortunately I did not. I ordered the Jerk Chicken Lunch Special. They took my order and I waited for about 10 minutes. Unfortunately, what they gave me was something different and I didn't realize it till I was at home. It was my fault for giving them my trust that theybgot my order right so I didn't check it while I was at the establishment. Nevertheless, I was hungry so I tried out what they gave me by mistake hoping it would be a delicious mistake: the Jerk Chicken Pasta. I was disappointed unfortunately. There was nothing Jerk about it. There was no spicy kick at all. Not even a little. It was just baked chicken in a pasta drenched with cheese and sauce. They could have just said Chicken Pasta on the menu so people won't expect it to be Jerk Chicken. A bit loud with the DJ but it didn't really bother us much. We're A Caribbean AND Middle Eastern household, so we're loud by nature lmao. Been here plenty of times, everything I've tried has been good. I especially love the escovitch and shrimp pasta (only wish it was a little spicier) but I add a little pepper and it's perfect. Food is pretty decent as far as seasoning, but they never have white meat. I order their jerk chicken pasta because it's supposedly the only thing they have with breast meat. I begin eating and when cutting some of the chicken pieces in half... it is clear this is dark meat. It tastes noticeably different. Went to Panfriday's due to numerous reviews and comments from Instagram and wanted to try for myself. I am normally skeptical with trying Jamaican restaurant food due to it being my cultural and not living up to what I am used to at home made dinners, but I loved it! The only thing I would change is having someone to seat you or tell you that you can order at the tables. Could just me be but most Jamaican restaurants I go to don't have sit down so I was a little confused on if I order and then sit or just order at the table. I ordered the escovitch snapper with bammy and festival and what I got was WAY more than what I expected! The snapper was the full plate and normally places only give you a quarter sized. When I seen it I wasn't complaining about the $25 price that was attached to it. The atmosphere and ambiance was very nice and quiet for a early afternoon lunch crowd, I could imagine that in the evening would be much busier. My server was very nice and attentive and I appreciated it. I had to update the rating for this location. Seeing that it is in a prime spot they might want to organize the way they handle customers picking up and placing orders. I have come here multiple times for lunch and dinner and each time ppl picking up orders appear to cut the line of others waiting and get serviced first. I think there should be a designated place that says pick up orders, online, orders, etc. I thought they use to have it but not sure where the signs went. I bought the $12 dollar jerk pork Friday special and honestly I felt cheated you only get one side which confused me because the online ordering doesn't say if the plate already come with rice and peas. So naturally I assume it didn't and selected rice as my side expecting to at least see the corn salad that normally I thought come with dinner plates. Well too my surprise all I had was literally just pork and rice. When I previously ordered the barbifry chicken it came with salad in addition to my selected side. The pork was too too spicy but really delicious otherwise. Also make sure I u pick up the passion fruit cheesecake it was really good but they might want come down on the price a bit compared to other island establishment that's pricey for a dessert. Pan Friday's! An eatery I found on Instagram! Order made via phone at 3:20..very noisy in the background so the lady who took my order could barely hear me but she got it.. I wanted some mac & cheese but they had none (why is it that Jamaican restaurants in South Florida never have that??) so I made two orders.. the steamed fish, rice & peas and a side of vegetable medley, and the jerk pork with rice and peas with a side of potato salad. Also a side of sweet plantains and festivals. Food arrived about a hour and a half later..and the delivery guy was very nice.. But now to food.. Everything smelled good.. When I opened the first plate which was the jerk pork, I was completely turned off..rice looked so bland & the presentation was poorly put. The fish looked great though. My mom said the fish had no taste and we both agreed that the rice was old because it was so hard!! The jerk pork gets a low rating as well because they gave me so many pieces of fat that wasn't even cooked! Only thing I enjoyed was the potato salad & the sweet plantains. I ate all my food, bc frankly i'm pregnant and always starving so I didnt have time to push the food aside. Dont these people own a jerk pan? About a week before the event, they decide to inform us that the food would not be ready at the requested time. We cut our food order in half so that it could be available in time for the event. This review is specifically for their Barbi fried chicken. Man oh man it was good. It reminded me of KFC chicken in Jamaica. Never had I had fried chicken baked in BBQ sauce before. Everything about it was good. Not too saucy and not too fried. I also had their rice and peas which was a little under cooked along w a side of sweet plantains. The customer service was ok.
