I've given this restaurant plenty of chances, and every visit has been disappointing. I've found hair in my food, prices seem to change and increase every time I come in, and the food often tastes like it's been sitting out all day. Just thinking about Coco's Kitchen now makes my stomach turn. Customer service is by far the worst part. Since the new owner took over, the atmosphere has gone downhill. She is extremely rude, loud, and unprofessional. She spends most of the time on her phone, openly bragging to friends, and allows people she knows to skip the line while other paying customers wait. It's clear that customer experience and food quality are not a priority here. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for clean food or respectful service. read more

My nose is running right now... that means they got the pikliz RIGHT! Lol! I'm a lover of Haitian food and I moved to homestead where it's been a feat to find any good Haitian restaurants. So I had to jump on the chance to find some while I was up north in Sunrise. Haitian restaurants can be hit or miss because it's homemade and every one has their own way of cooking but my number way to rate a Haitian spot is with the pikliz! I must say I am glad I bought a jar! Which is another tell tale sign that their food is good. If the pikliz comes in a jar, it's in high demand and I definitely see why theirs is. It's soo good. Not overly seasoned or too spicy. It's just right! Enough about the pikliz lol. I ordered Tasso Cabrit complete which is the fried goat meal with Djon Djon rice which is mushroom rice. It comes with a salad, 2 banan which is fried green plantain, two sauces, and a small pikliz. Now I did end up throwing the salad away and making my own. The romaine lettuce was a bit brown and wilted but I didn't mind that too much. The goat was really good. Some of the pieces weren't so tender but they weren't too hard that I could t enjoy it. I just know I can't warm this up. The Djon Djon rice was really good especially since I haven't had it in a while. It wasn't greasy and it had veggies in it but very little. I came across a couple kernels of corn and peas but no beans were in the rice. Which is fine, like I said every Haitian restaurant is different. The ones in homestead use pinto beans! I appreciated that authentic flavor for sure. Even without the beans. The banan were a bit soft which I also liked. I don't like when they're old and too hard to even bite. I didn't use the sauce but they give you two so they get a thumbs up for going the extra mile. Finally, I called in to order and the gentleman on the phone was nice and professional. It took us about 7 minutes to get there. We waited an extra few minutes in the car and when we went in to get the food it was ready. So it took about 10 minutes. Which is fast compared to some places. It's located in a plaza. The plaza looks a bit shifty lol but the inside of Coco's is nice and they had good customer service here. Overall I recommend this place. Especially if you're new to eating Haitian cuisine. I'm not Haitian but I fell in love with it years ago and I've missed it sooo much. Coco's definitely hit the spot and cured my cravings. Highly recommended! The next time I'm in the area I'll be returning to try the turkey! read more

Their juice is phenomenal and off the chain I must say. The food is good but the one problem is that's glaring with the griot is the meat to rice ratio. The young man taking orders was good-order was correct, received all the necessities (napkins, salad dressing, utensils) and thankfully he took my number to call once the food was ready, as it did take some time, as mentioned in other reviews. Cashier advise me they are under new management so the prices has increased, food portions are smaller and they don't value the clover points earned from shopping with them previously. It was my fault I didn't check the food at the restaurant because it wasn't for me but upon checking there was no meat in the legume barely any veggies except large half chunks of a carrot. First time newbie to Haitian food but omg so glad I tried it! I got the Griot comple lunch plate and first bite was just full of flavor. I love good ethnic food and this hit more than the spot. I really do love this Haitian restaurant.. it's not much good Haitian spots in Broward but this is one of 'em, this spot is really a hidden gem. The customer service I can't speak for others but with every interaction I've had has been nice and pleasant. The food is well seasoned, comes out piping hot and I like that they pay attention to what you ask for. For example, I ordered Griot and asked them to please give me the fatty pieces of the meat and they did! I was too happy lol. Also the salad & tomato that comes with the Comple plates is ALWAYS fresh, Never old and I appreciate that. The only thing I wish is that they didn't give ranch with the salad and offered other dressings to choose from like French, Italian, Caesar etc. Also if you love Pikliz like me, they offer jars and I always order the jars because the small cup they give is never enough for the plates (it's a lot of food) but it's a great investment with the jars because that Pikliz be BUSSIN! It's spicy and too damn good, I literally put that shit on everything I can lol. If you're in the area, I would highly recommend them. read more

I read a glowing review of this place that sent me in when I was near. I came out fairly disappointed. The good: the location is easy to find and get in and out of. Service and cooking time is reasonable. Portion sizes are large. The fried shrimp was beautifully seasoned and fried. I can recommend that. The bad: the full menu was not available, no goat, no legim. The seasoning on the grip, which I was ready for was just so so, as was the rice. The mac and cheese was better, but it was so salty! It made me think that it was straight up Lowry's with little added. The condiments were just okay. As the review that had me lusting for Coco's stated, "don't sleep on Haitian food!" -- Just try it someplace else. It was my first time visiting, i went because of the reviews, i ordered the turkey in sauce with black rice. It was pretty good, except for the fact that the sauce was full of grease! Today I decided I wanted to drive from margate to there for some food. While driving I called to preorder food. I was put on hold for a total of six minutes. I got there and was still on hold. I ask the lady why am I on hold for that long. She replied in a ghetto manner I'm busy! No apologies or nothing. I looked up there number for my daughter to place an order the number is 954-530-2984 no one didn't answer at out of the four tries. Then I went on IG and pulled up they page and found another number so I called and someone answered and I placed my order he told me twenty minutes so My husband say order him one called back two minutes later no answer. Then I hung up busy signal. I dialed the number again the young man Ben picked up and I added the other order was told the same wait time. Ordered at about 3:20pm got there about 3:50pm didn't leave when order was done until 4:20pm. Ben said they had to recook one of the meats because it was over fried. I asked for the owner Jeff they say he was out of town. Because this wasn't my first time with a problem at this place. And my daughter say she have had better food at a place called H&R Grill. When I initially called to place my order the person taking the order didn't even understand the food I was ordering in Creole which was a bit concerning because it's a Haitian restaurant according to the advertisement. I was a bit disappointed because I expected the quality of the food to meet the expectation of many Haitian restaurants that I have ate at before. Instead of the chicken sauce was not thick and the chicken was exceptionally soft like it was only stewed. This restaurant definitely did not meet the expectation I had for it.
