One of the best Haitian restaurants around! I'm actually Haitian so of course I'm more critical of Haitian restaurants because I know what good Haitian food is--well this restaurant is it! The food is always cooked to order and so good! I love that the plates include macaroni, sauce, and pikliz. I've eaten everything here before from the tilapia, to the legume, to griot, etc. Today I ordered tassot turkey (fried turkey) with diri djon djon (mushroom rice), it comes with banan peze (friend plantains) and macaroni. Everything was perfect, flavor was great and the portion size was even better. What I love about this restaurant, they are not stingy with food! You will always get more than enough food so you will be more than satisfied! Definitely one of my favorite Haitian restaurants so of course I'll be back.

I've been eating from Bistro for 12 years. I shouldn't have let one employee change my view of the establishment.

The shrimp and dirty rice had great flavorwell seasoned, a little smoky, and the shrimp were cooked right, not overdone. You can tell they're actually trying to put some thought into the dishes instead of just throwing something together. The deviled eggs were a standout too unique presentation and a good mix of creamy and savory. Drinks were on point. The cocktail I had was smooth, balanced, and looked as good as it tasted. Definitely not one of those places where the drinks are all looks and no substance. Service was good, no complaints there. Everything came out in a reasonable time and the staff kept things moving without hovering. If I had to nitpick, I'd say it leans a little more toward the vibe and presentation than being truly unforgettable food but it's still a strong experience overall.

The service was great. We had a very attentive waiter who was really nice and helpful. Unfortunately I don't remember his name now. The best item we had was the beignets. They were amazing along with the ice cream. The first bite had my eyes rolling in the back of my head. Honestly I could have had a plate of those and nothing else. There was a homeless person bothering us because we ate out on the patio. I wish management could have said something. Otherwise, sitting outside was nice.

We love Cajun food, so we were excited to try it, and the gumbo did not disappoint. I was starving and completely forgot to take pictures of the étouffée my bf got, he said it was good, definitely creamier than traditional, which made it a bit of a risk for me since I'm allergic to dairy. I had a Shirley Temple, and my boyfriend had a Bloody Mary that he said was good... although I have to say, the green bean garnish threw me off a little I've seen some wild garnishes, but that one made me laugh. I got chicken tenders with tots and red beans and rice everything was solid. The music was great, the atmosphere was lively, and even with the rain keeping us off the patio, we had a great time. We'll definitely be back to check out the outdoor space on a nicer day.

GO SOUTH! Actually we went north to Pompano Beach for lunch on a Thursday. We had heard that the…read moreweekends are packed especially Sunday brunch. When we arrived it was pleasantly chill. The lovely hostess guided us to a booth by a window. We were greeted by our equally lovely server Jazmin (sp?). Btw, she rocks! Upon perusing the lunch menu we jumped at the deviled eggs appetizer. These beauties were two beet stained eggs cut in half topped with a spicy yolk filling and garnished with scallions, chicken skin crunch and trout roe. OH MY! My dear friend and dining companion was leaning towards a salad but we put on our thinking caps and decided that the fried chicken entree, which was accompanied by two sides and a biscuit was the best bang for our taste buds. And indeed it was. She ordered two pieces with greens and mac + cheese while I chose three pieces (thinking ahead to lunch tomorrow) plus the mac chz plus sweet potato soufflé (that was Thanksgiving babe!). The chicken was fresh out of the fryer and we had nothing but praise for the sides. To top it off...Nanner Puddin'! Just like mom made but no Jello pudding here. Amazing. Since it was a weekday, we got to meet the chef and give kudos. (He's a happy dude) I wouldn't care to come here on the weekend when it's packed but I can see why folks do. The place is enormous with a huge outside venue and a sprawling banyan tree. Plus the Sunday brunch menu is tempting. But for a chill lunch with nice employees and scrumptious food on a Thursday, we were star struck and satisfied.

I loved the aesthetic --…read morethe green and gold decor was really pretty, and surprisingly it wasn't too packed for a Sunday around 4:45 PM. I also really liked how spacious the restaurant felt. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, plus a cute outdoor bar area with stools where you can eat and hang out, which gave the place a really nice vibe. The music was a great mix of R&B and oldies too. Now let's talk service... for me, service is everything, and unfortunately that's what made this experience disappointing. Our waitress, Haley, was pretty inattentive throughout the meal. We asked for extra Caesar dressing and never got it, and it was honestly hard to get a hold of her most of the time. Because of that alone, I'd probably think twice before coming back. As for the food -- it was hit or miss. We started with the wings as an appetizer. They were flavorful, but nothing memorable. I'd probably skip them next time and try something else. I ordered the crispy Cobb salad because it sounded amazing on the menu, but it was a letdown. It was mostly lettuce with barely any chicken, and I had to mix the whole salad myself. At a restaurant, I kind of expect a Cobb salad to come already tossed together. Also... no blue cheese available? Come on now lol. My boyfriend got the fried chicken with sweet potato fries and mac & cheese. I will say, everything came out HOT, so you can tell the food is made fresh. The mac & cheese didn't look impressive at first, but it tasted SO good. The sweet potato fries were delicious too. My sister ordered the lobster pasta, and honestly the portion size shocked me in the best way. They were generous with the lobster, which almost never happens, and she loved it. My daughter got the crispy chicken sandwich and said it was the best sandwich she's ever had, so that was definitely a win. Overall, the food itself wasn't bad at all -- my salad was just a flop. If the service had been better, this review probably would've been very different. Not sure if I'd come back, but maybe on a different day with a different server.

When we got there the hostess immediately asked us if we're one of the "late ones" that hasn't shown up yet. We showed her the email that states to come whenever yet she still argued it with us that it starts at 7:30. Also, the email states that you have to pay a $20 fee per person if you don't order food....yet they never mention that you have to order $20 worth of food PER PERSON. On top of that, there's a lovely $8 fee if you share your meal. Food portion was tiny and my shrimp meal had plastic in it. When I mentioned this to the waitress, the chef came out and argued that it was shell, to which I physically picked up the plastic and stretched it to show it was definitely not a shell. At the end of the meal we received our check and were informed that there is a "service fee" AKA the waitress added her own tip onto our check (she physically wrote in the tip on the check and even wrote the total). We were never informed about any service fee until the end of the meal. Extremely disappointed. Will not be going back.
