My mom celebrating her 84th birthday
    Suzanna E.

I went to All That Jazz many years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. I treated my mom and my cousin for my mom's 84 birthday on a Saturday night. We made reservations in advance for a table of 3 in the back of the dining room. The ambience and music were fantastic. The food was excellent. We all thoroughly enjoyed everything we ate. We ordered calamari and shrimp and Gorgonzola garlic bread for our appetizers. I ordered a bottle of Meiomi Pinot Noir. We ordered Grandma Ida's shrimp oreganto, seafood trio pasta and a New York strip steak for our meals. My mom and cousin both had root beer floats. We all had tiramisu for dessert and they put a candle in my mom's tiramisu for us to sing happy birthday to her. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful with anything that we needed. Everything was perfect! Thank you very much! I highly recommend this restaurant if you want to relax with live jazz, delicious food and excellent service in a friendly, comfortable, welcoming environment.

This is a great place for quite and intimate dining with that special someone. Restaurant is located inside of the shopping center, but don't let that fool you. Staff is great, the owner of friendly with guests, and the food is delicious. We had the chance to spend new year's evening here, and it was quite fun and the jazz band had everyone on their feet! Great place for dinner and holiday get togethers.

You are in for a treat if you like jazz in an intimate supper club. Last night was special as well. Francisco Dimas on trumpet and Felipe Lamoglia on sax were absolutely incredible, a night to remember. The food was good and the prices reasonable, the portions were ample and the service good too. I had the Jumbalia and my sweetheart had meatballs as an appetizer then Primavera pasta as her main course. She said it was yummy. We were there a total of about three hours and really enjoyed ourselves, I know we'll be back

Really nice and quiet ambience on a Thursday night. The food was actually pretty good and came out fast. The food was very fresh and flavorful, we enjoyed it. The host/ manager was very attentive and was also the one to take our orders; that's always nice to see. We did expect more lively music and there was only one pianist playing instead of a jazz band. Regardless, he was talented and provided great music.

We were able to come here for one of their special Christmas evenings - Dave and everyone we interacted with from the time we reserved our table until the moment we left were incredibly warm and friendly. We absolutely adored the set up and classy ambiance and are looking forward to more evenings spent here!

What a gem of an experience! This family-owned small business is tucked away in a shopping center so close to home. The vibe is incredible, with exceptional tunes that rival the food itself both instantly transport you straight to NOLA. The owners, two delightful brothers, make you feel like part of the family. Such a wonderful find, and I can't wait to go back!

We've been looking for a jazz club to go to for months. Had to travel a ways to find one, but All That Jazz was everything I could have asked for. The Jazz quartet was absolutely fantastic, playing for 4 hours in 3 or 4 sets with maybe 60-90 minutes of total break time. And we were there for almost the whole time, from 6:30-10. The service was top notch, we weren't rushed at all to get our orders in, our waters were never below half full, and the food and drinks came out very quickly after ordering. The food itself exceeded our expectations as well. Everything was great. If I had to nitpick one thing, I'd want more garlic bread with the shrimp and calamari, because man was that bread and sauce to die for. I wish I lived closer to this because I would absolutely be a regular. I love Jazz music and hate that it's not more prolific today. All That Jazz is a beautiful musical oasis in a desert of uneventful dinner choices. They deserve 6 stars at least. Definitely hope to come back.

I love everything about All that Jazz. The decorations, food and music all match the venue perfectly. Upon walking through the doors David will drop what he is doing to come greet you and find you a table. David is the owner but the entire staff do an incredible job in delivering a unique experience that you won't find anywhere else.

But why sit down, when you can jam to decent covers of everything from "Sweet Caroline" to Ceelo's "F You"? The band (Groove Line, I believe) even gets into the act dancing with the crowd!

Ocean Boulevard, which is where I was staying,at a friends apartment, to capture the Friday evening "Jazz On the Square" concert series at Pelican Square in Lauderdale By The Sea. Since my first vists to the Lauderdale By The Sea area in October 2005 the Anglin Beach Pier Village at Lauderdale By The Sea which some refer to as "The Village" is one of my favorite beach villages. As well as Deerfield and Hollywood beaches as opposed to the 'Lauderdale Beach' aliong Atlantic Boulevard. Having frequented Muscle Beach in South Beach for the Winter Party Festival one two occasions if I had my choice of beaches I think it would be Hollywood, Deerfield and Lauderdale By The Sea. In that order. As I entered Pelican Square which is just yards from the Anglin Pier / Beach on Friday evening, 7 March 2008, I remembered that my friend who lives in the Hampton Beach Club had told me that the band that he saw last spring was a blues band and that he 'throughly enjoyed watching the women dancing together'. While the band played on. So, as I entered from Ocean Boulevard, along Commerical Boulevard, en route to Pelican Square at El Mar Drive, and as a soulful rendition of "Sittin On The Dock Of Day" reverberated through "The Village" I wondered if it was the same band. As I spent the next 45 minutes to an hour photographing and videotaping folks dancing the streets the Rick Bauer Band played Bruce Springsteen's "Everybody's Got a Hungry Heart", Johnny Cash's "Love Is a Burnin' Thing", Bob Seger and the Silver Bullets' "Old Town Rock and Roll" and Stephen Still's "Love The One You're With" before the band took a break. At which time I headed back to the apartment on South Ocean Boulevard to rejoin friends for dinner which our guests from NYC had prepared. When I showed images that I had taken of the band to my friend he said that it was a different band. Which I had suspected since the blues band that he spoke of consisted mostly of older afro-american men. May I suggest that if you are ever in the Lauderdale By The Sea area on a Friday evening that you check out Jazz On The Square at Pelican Square which, just yards from the Anglin Pier and Beach, takes place from 6 until 10 pm on the streets just outside of The Village Grille and Village Pump at El Mar Drive and Commercial Boulevard. Here is the website at http://www.villagegrille.com/events.html. And should you ever get the opportunity to catch the Rick Bauer Band, by all means do so. To order cds or learn more about the Rick Bauer Band, visit their websites at www.rickbauerband.com or /www.myspace.com/rickbauerband. In addition to founder Rick Bauer, drummer Rich Pistocchi and bassist Rick Bauer (known to all as Pops), a power trio that has garnished local an international acclaim as one of the most ecclectic and capable three pieces anywhere, on this particularly evening, the Rick Bauer Band also featured Richard Malfitano or "Malfie" on sax. A video clip #2/5, from the event, of 'folks dancing the streets' as the Rick Bauer Band performed Bruce Springsteen's "Everybody's Got A Hungry Heart" may be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZliuD5FS7k. I headed to Blue Jean Blues in Fort Lauderdale specifically to check out the Valerie Tyson Band after a local friend highly recommended them. We drove up from Miami and they did not disappoint--they brought all the energy and put on an amazing performance! It happened to be Ms. Annie's birthday, so the band and the crowd were especially lively and fun. The Food (The 1-Star Dock): I'm docking the venue one star because they really need to step up their food game. There were four of us at our table, we all arrived hungry, and unfortunately, none of us were satisfied with our meals. Between us, we ordered the wings, cheese sticks, the chicken quesadilla, and a wedge salad with shrimp. For a venue like this, executing solid, good-quality bar food should be a given. As for my choice, the wedge salad was a total miss--the tomatoes were overly ripe (and not in a good way, I couldn't tell if they were in a strange marinade or just too ripe), and the lettuce wedge lacked appropriate crispness, arriving more like a flat pancake instead of a wedge. Now, I will say, as a self-proclaimed French fry connoisseur, the side of fries we ordered was actually pretty good! (Gotta mix the good with the bad, right?) But the rest of the menu definitely needs some major improvement. Pro-Tip: Be incredibly careful with parking out here and make sure you pay! I saw two different meter maids actively writing tickets while we were there. Don't let an expensive parking ticket ruin a great night of music. Return Factor: I would absolutely come back to Blue Jean Blues to see the Valerie Tyson Band again, especially if I'm staying right here in Fort Lauderdale next time!
