What a great little gem in South FL. Somewhere in Sunrise Florida Jazz plays here every week and the music is amazing! Tonight it was pouring outside but the music in here was nice and sweet and perfect for a rainy night. We had dinner with apps and dessert! We started with the New Orleans BBQ Shrimp. Nice light spice and yummy We shared a plate for 2 of these shrimp. Followed by Chicken Parmigian for me, Jambalaya, for my wife. We finished up with a very delicious Bread pudding with vanilla ice cream. Jay our server for tonight made some great suggestions and everything was just right. Only suggestion to get a higher rating is to make the plating a little nicer. Salad, and main course could have looked nicer. read more

When we booked our reservation, it clearly says on the email "ARRIVE ANY TIME YOU LIKE" 5:30-9:30. As we were on our way we received a call at 7:15 saying we were late and pressuring us to arrive. When we got there the hostess immediately asked us if we're one of the "late ones" that hasn't shown up yet. We showed her the email that states to come whenever yet she still argued it with us that it starts at 7:30. Also, the email states that you have to pay a $20 fee per person if you don't order food....yet they never mention that you have to order $20 worth of food PER PERSON. On top of that, there's a lovely $8 fee if you share your meal. Food portion was tiny and my shrimp meal had plastic in it. When I mentioned this to the waitress, the chef came out and argued that it was shell, to which I physically picked up the plastic and stretched it to show it was definitely not a shell. At the end of the meal we received our check and were informed that there is a "service fee" AKA the waitress added her own tip onto our check (she physically wrote in the tip on the check and even wrote the total). We were never informed about any service fee until the end of the meal. Extremely disappointed. Will not be going back. read more

I went to All That Jazz many years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. I treated my mom and my cousin for my mom's 84 birthday on a Saturday night. We made reservations in advance for a table of 3 in the back of the dining room. The ambience and music were fantastic. The food was excellent. We all thoroughly enjoyed everything we ate. We ordered calamari and shrimp and Gorgonzola garlic bread for our appetizers. I ordered a bottle of Meiomi Pinot Noir. We ordered Grandma Ida's shrimp oreganto, seafood trio pasta and a New York strip steak for our meals. My mom and cousin both had root beer floats. We all had tiramisu for dessert and they put a candle in my mom's tiramisu for us to sing happy birthday to her. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful with anything that we needed. Everything was perfect! Thank you very much! Francisco Dimas on trumpet and Felipe Lamoglia on sax were absolutely incredible, a night to remember. The food was good and the prices reasonable, the portions were ample and the service good too. This is a wonderful place to go to listen to nice jazz and enjoy a delicious meal at a reasonable price. Sometimes they have special events on a Sunday and we saw the Latin orchestra, Caliente, there a couple weeks ago and it was terrific. It is a family run business Dave is the manager and his brother Mike plays on bass in the band. There are other family members, including the great cook, who happens to be Dave's wife! My wife and I have been to this place several times and besides the music being great the food has always been outstanding. A few days ago we went there for a Beatles review. Band as usual was terrific but the service and food were unacceptable. Music starts at 7:30 so we arrived at 7 to order and began our meal. Waitress did not come to our table until 7:20 apologizing for the delay. We ordered an appetizer and dinner to share. She asked if we wanted the appetizer first and we said of course. It came quickly and we ate it immediately. Twenty minutes later we asked about our dinner. She said it would be out in a minute. Twenty minutes later no food so we complained and she was rude in her response saying she waited for us to enjoy the appetizer before ordering dinner. But it was 40 minutes after finishing the appetizer. 15 minutes later the dinner came and by then we were annoyed and lost our appetite. We told her to send it back and she argued that we ordered it and we'll have to pay. At this point we were there an hour and 20 minutes and she was nasty. Asked for the owner and told him the story and he finally agreed not to charge us. When I complained about the waitress, he defended her and became rude. He said others were waiting for their food as well but I had checked the room ( it's small ) and everyone was finished eating. Not a plate to be seen! Have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant and will not be coming back. read more

We've been looking for a jazz club to go to for months. Had to travel a ways to find one, but All That Jazz was everything I could have asked for. The Jazz quartet was absolutely fantastic, playing for 4 hours in 3 or 4 sets with maybe 60-90 minutes of total break time. And we were there for almost the whole time, from 6:30-10. The service was top notch, we weren't rushed at all to get our orders in, our waters were never below half full, and the food and drinks came out very quickly after ordering. The food itself exceeded our expectations as well. Everything was great. If I had to nitpick one thing, I'd want more garlic bread with the shrimp and calamari, because man was that bread and sauce to die for. I wish I lived closer to this because I would absolutely be a regular. I love Jazz music and hate that it's not more prolific today. All That Jazz is a beautiful musical oasis in a desert of uneventful dinner choices. They deserve 6 stars at least. Definitely hope to come back. read more

The service was awesome, our server came around frequently to ask if anything was needed and our waters never got empty. The food also comes out SUPER quick and was delicious. This was a very nice evening. We occupied a table for 10 in the back of the establishment. We ordered appetizers and entrees. There was cheeky garlic toast, meatballs, calamari, for appetizers and people ordered salads with salmon, shrimp dishes, and sandwiches with chicken parmigiana and there were desserts ordered as well. The entertainment was an evening of jazz. The owner of the establishment and some of the students from the on-site music school performed. A great place to have an amazing night! Where to start? 1) live music? The jazz band we heard was fantastic. They play Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. 2) good food. Overall everyone enjoyed their dishes and drinks. Surprising as usually jazz bars lack in this area. I def recommend the chicken parm with Alfredo pasta. Soon as you walk in you're greeted with smiles. Our waitress Debbie was so sweet and kind. The place isn't big at all but the size is so right for the mood with lights streaming from the ceiling. With great jazz music playing all night. Now onto the food. The food was delicious! Portion size was awesome. Drinks were good. I had a glass of wine, riesling and a Mojito. For our entrées, I had a jambalaya and he had the pork chop which was huge. We also did dessert, which was the brownie with three ice cream scoops. We were stuffed and happy. We went to a local family run restaurant to enjoy some dinner and live jazz for my birthday Winner! The look from parking lot and restaurant was basic but very clean and I was here to try the food and listen to good music. I got the Jambalaya and was offered hot sauce but declined. My mistake since it was tasty but could have used a little more heat. My wife got the fish of the day. It was lightly breaded and cooked perfectly... Was surprised my wife shared a piece with me. The meals my adult kids and their significant others got were the Pasta Puttanesca (this is the first time my daughter ate someone else's other than her own), garlic bread sandwich meatball ( was surprised how big sandwich was), Garlic bread sandwich Chicken parm (my son did not talk during diñner he just ate), Chicken with Teriyaki Sauce (rice was paired nicely with çhicken and sauce). Great jazz venue for dinner in sunrise, fl. Dave waited on us, his wife works in the kitchen and his brother plays bass in the band and makes some of the desserts including the fantastic chocolate cheesecake. We sat at a high top when we arrived at around 6:45 on a Saturday night. There was no wait but a lot of the tables were filled. The band was great. They have the same three folks the third fri and sat every month I believe and they had a visiting trumpet player who was great. If you sign up for their email list they tell you who is performing and they have special events where you pay in advance. We did not feel rushed to finish as others mentioned in reviews maybe because there was no one waiting for a table. We had the chicken parm, grilled, and the gumbo. The gumbo was the better entree and it was very homemade and had lots of flavor. They also make their own hot sauce to put on top. The chicken parm was good but the sauce was very plain and it had little cheese (which I actually like) - good but could be better. For dessert we had the key lime pie in a glass and the chocolate cheesecake. The key lime pie was good but had a bit of ice crystals in it meaning it may not have been fresh. The cheesecake was fantastic with an Oreo crust, not too sweet and the right consistency between hard and creamy. Very good. The band takes breaks and plays a jazz recording on tv/speakers during the break. You can talk during the break and you can also hear each other talk during the band playing but you don't go there to have a deep conversation. You go to have a nice time listening to the music enjoying drinks and good food. The place was clean, including bathrooms, and was a comfortable temperature. Bottom line - We had our first date, six years ago tonight, at your restaurant. And we always think of you and your team on this anniversary. (That date really took! In November, we'll celebrate our five-year wedding anniversary.) I remember that the chef's husband was our server. My "date", Tom, was seated facing the door and I was escorted to meet him at the table. The menu was extensive. I was dieting so I closed the menu and asked our server if he could just take a naked salad and put a piece of dry grilled protein on it. I didn't care if it was chicken or salmon. He returned with a beautiful plate of grilled salmon on salad. Tom and I ate but talked so much that we each wound up taking a to-go box. We walked outside of the restaurant and sat at an outdoor table to chat. He was on one side of the four-top and I was on another. A blonde woman dressed in white pants and a white sweater passed by us and said, "get a room, you two" and entered the restaurant. She was brilliantly clairvoyant! Time passed and we chatted. So much time that we watched the city's trash collection truck empty the trash cans in the lot. So much time that all the remaining workers came out in a huddled group and one of them asked us if they could please have their chairs and table back because they wanted to go home!! Thank you for giving us so much time to get to know one another. And for hosting our first meeting - the beginning of this beautiful life chapter brimming with love and joy. You literally changed our lives. So, what was the moment when "we knew"? At the end of the date, I said goodnight and took two steps towards my SUV. He took his hand and intertwined his fingers with mine. As soon as I felt his touch, I pivoted and walked two steps into his arms, and we kissed. I have no - not one - idea why I did that. He doesn't even remember lifting his hand and putting it in mine. Somehow, the stars truly aligned and as soon as we touched, we had a spark. Beyond romantic, it was a path towards joy and away from hurt. The night we met was the anniversary of his first date with his late wife, with whom he shared 32 years. It was also 13 weeks to the day that my late husband suddenly died. My late husband was fixated with the number 13. He saw it everywhere and constantly showed its reference. I didn't even think about that until after - I only agreed to go out with Tom because he was widowed, and I wanted to speak with someone who had my experience. The 6 bereavement groups weren't well-attended, and therapy wasn't effective. So, I agreed to go out with him, even though he wasn't "my type". It turns out that he is SO my type! He is a beautiful, considerate, smart, funny, loving man who delights in gardening our veggies/fruits, taking midday swims - we retired a year ago, building stuff with his ever-growing homeowner toys and planning to travel in the future.
