We made a reservation a month in advance for a party of 25 for a birthday celebration, but the restaurant was completely unprepared. It took at least 30 minutes for the staff to even coordinate who was serving us and bring out water. Food orders took forever--some guests were already asking for to-go boxes by the time others were finally being served. One person in our group, Tasha, never received her food at all before we left. They initially offered her $10 off, but eventually comped it after she asked them to just take it back since everyone was leaving. As for the food, the flavor was good, but the execution fell short. I ordered the curry chicken, rice and peas, plantains, and tossed salad. The rice was hot, but the chicken was only lukewarm and the sweet plantains were cold. Tasty flavors, but the slow service, cold food, and lack of organization for a planned reservation are why I'm leaving this rating.

Discovering an elevated Caribbean experience so close to home was definitely a win for summer 2026 shenanigans. We brunched at Kekoon for a birthday celebration. For $60, their brunch offers unlimited drinks and food. I dont know what I expected but the quality and flavor of the food caught me off guard. The Jamaican spread was delicious. From jerk chicken and pork to pepper shrimp, oxtail and dumplings. The pepper shrimp is a must try! Brunch drinks were Bellinis, mimosas, margaritas and rum punch. Pro tip: mix the Bellini with a little rum punch and thank me later Chef Ricardo was an absolute darling, making rounds to our table, to ensure we were ok. I have to mention Michael, the manager, going above and beyond to ensure we felt welcomed. He joined in on our birthday celebration and kept the vibe going with birthday shots. The DJ here was also incredible. Spinning hip hop, reggae, dancehall, soca, mixing it just right for the diverseness of the crowd. Hookah was also on point. A bit pricy but well made. The bathroom situation was a little disappointing. Two stalls in the female bathroom with only one working. Hopefully this is not a permanent situation and will be looked at soon. There is lots of free parking around the restaurant. Great food & good vibes

Oxtail pasta

If you're a fan of Caribbean food, you have to check out Kekoon Restaurant & Lounge in Davie! I ordered the Oxtail Pasta, and it definitely lived up to the hype. The oxtail was incredibly tender, flavorful, and fell right off the bone. The pasta was perfectly cooked and coated in a rich, creamy sauce that paired so well with the seasoned oxtail. The presentation was on point, the portions were satisfying, and the atmosphere had a fun, upscale Caribbean lounge vibe with great music. If you're looking for a spot that's perfect for date night, birthdays, or a night out with friends, Kekoon is worth checking out. I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu! The service was top tier as well for a party of 6.

This place has gone downhill - It was real bad. My first experience was 5 stars - this is a negative star review. Let's collectively just not call it a restaurant anymore, it's fine. You go for the music, maybe an entertainer and to look cute. That is it. I promise you, if you expect something more you're gonna be real hurt. We waited 30 minutes at the hostess stand for someone to seat us. And there was a line behind us. If it wasn't already 10 PM I would have left. All the other employees just looked like - where the hostess at? No one did anything lol. Some clueless manager was finally like aiite where yall wanna sit? Like what? We waited... 1 hour for a drink to come out. and my MOCKTAIL came out 30 minutes after her cocktail. It was literally just juice I ordered. THEN they forgot about my coconut shrimp which came out 5 small quarter sized pieces for $25 and it was cold. I didn't even order anything else because they didn't have half of the items on the menu.

My sister and I wanted to step out for the night but didn't feel like going to a full on club just a nice lounge with good vibes. We came across Kekoon Restaurant & Lounge in Davie, FL and made reservations, which I highly recommend. The restaurant itself is very nice, with plenty of free parking, which is always a plus. Before we even walked in, we could hear the music from outside and already knew the vibes were going to be on point. Once inside, we were greeted by the hostess and, after a short wait, taken to our table and introduced to our waitress for the night. Our waitress, Ginger, was absolutely beautiful and took great care of us throughout the evening shoutout to her for the excellent service. Since it's a restaurant and lounge, we ordered drinks and appetizers for the table. The oxtail egg rolls were our favorite definitely a must-try. The coconut bang bang shrimp wasn't the best; it was falling apart. The salmon bombs were just okay, and the truffle fries weren't really truffling, if you know what I mean. The drinks were good, but the presentation and taste weren't consistent. We ordered two rounds. I had the Watermelon Pomegranate Cosmopolitan, and my sister ordered the blueberry Don Julio mint mojito and the dragonfruit margarita. One thing to note: there are no prices on the menu, so be prepared to spend money. Drinks were around $20, and a shot was $15, which felt a bit steep considering the location isn't beachfront. Around 11:30 p.m. midnight, a young lady came around offering hookah service. We ordered the blueberry mint hookah for $90, but unfortunately it started getting harsh after about 15 minutes. A quick restroom note: only one of the two toilets was working, and it had run out of toilet paper, which was disappointing especially since the place wasn't even packed. Overall, we had a decent time. The vibes, music, and service (especially Ginger) were highlights, but there are definitely some areas that could use improvement for the price point.

Jerk Pasta

This restaurant was overpriced, understaffed, and extremely unorganized. We waited over 40 minutes just for drinks and more than an hour for our food and entrees weren't served together. They would bring out 1-2 plates at a time. Our waitress was polite, but she didn't know menu prices, drink prices, food quality, or whether happy hour existed. Nearly every question was met with "I don't know" and she would walk away to ask someone else only to return without answers. They were pushing a new menu with no prices listed, which is unacceptable. Pasta was $25, drinks were $20, and the shots were tiny and overpriced. The drinks themselves were not impressive enough to justify the cost. Only the outside seating was open, despite uncomfortable temperatures. We were eventually allowed inside after complaining. We were told the restaurant was under new management and that the menu had been given to staff the same day, which unfortunately showed in the service. The food did taste good but portion sizes were not worth the prices, and the music and vibe were nice, but not nearly enough to make up for the wait times, confusion, and pricing. I ordered jerk pasta which had a great base flavor. The oxtails were okay. Very small portion for the price and the rice and peas needed more flavor. Was a little overcooked. I would not return unless they get properly staffed, train their servers, and provide clear menus with pricing.

Instead of being hardheaded I should've listened to the prior reviews about the service here. Cocktails arrived 30+ minutes after they were ordered. Subsequent Beer never arrived and my date had to go to the bar and get it himself. Food took over 1 hour 15 mins to arrive. The waitress did the best she could but clearly this is the theme here. Other tables around us had similar wait times and eventually went to the bar to order their own drinks. I was told the delay was due to a backup in the kitchen, but other than the side dishes, the food was cold.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! DO NOT COME HERE!! If I could give negative stars I would. I went to Kekoon for ladies' night for my birthday, we were seated by the host promptly but we waited 45 minutes just for a server. No water, no food or drink orders just to be acknowledged we were there. We had to flag down the hostess to let her know no one ever came and she came back with waters but we still had to wait another 15 mins before the server actually came. The place was EMPTY! Maybe 3 tables were seated. Drinks were free for ladies so once the server came we put in our drink and food orders immediately because who knows when he would be back. It took 20 mins for the drinks to come out in half-full glasses and extremely watered down/ juice but it was free so no complaint there. The food came out after another 30 mins in different intervals. One person got their plate, then another one came out, one after another. Not altogether. Once mostly everyone got their orders they started to eat. My order of the barbi- fried chicken with rice and peas came out last and was STEAMING hot. Great right? WRONG my chicken was hard like it was sitting out and lathered with the sauce then they put it in the microwave. My rice was mushy only thing that was okay was the cabbage but it was also undercooked. However, my whole plate was steaming hot! I told this to the server and he told me the chicken is stored in a warmer, so it was steaming hot. Was the WHOLE PLATE in said "warmer"? My friend ordered the oxtail with rice and peas, her cabbage was cold which is weird because mine was hot? Did they make me a new batch? The oxtail was mostly bones which is a letdown for $38 and her rice was also mushy. Another friend ordered the jerk pork with rice and peas hers came out COLD. She sent it back and received the exact same plate but hot proving my microwave theory is correct. We tried to order the Mac and cheese and they didn't have any. Good because it probably was going to be cold like the festival that we ordered. We told the food runner and she brought out a new one of course microwaved. The best thing was the jerk chicken pasta but after waiting 30 mins for the server to check how the food was I didn't even want to place another order for anything else. We asked for the manager and had to chase him down because he was hiding in a closed-off section behind the bar. The manager didn't seem to care about our experience/ expectations of this place. He did comp my food which I didn't and couldn't eat. Also the jerk pork plate was comped, they wanted to take the food to go since it was already boxed. Fastest the server came to our table and he took the food away saying we couldn't take it! I guess it went into tomorrow's batch! I have been here before and it was better but after coming this time, I WILL NEVER COME BACK and will not recommend it to anyone. I left hungry and unsatisfied.

Jamaican food made bougie. This restaurant is a huge location with nice furniture, big bar, patio Dj booth a vibes. I saw hookah in the garden area and its mention that the brunch is great. I came in for the first time on a week evening for a late dinner. When we sat we noticed that the menu was small and had no prices . Yikes ! Anywho we decided to stay. For drinks we had the lychee dragonfruit margarita 10/10 and Hennessy rum punch 10/10 but they took forever to arrive to the table. For starters we had the lobster fritters which I was imagining something completely different. It was not terrible but I didn't enjoy it. For dinner I had the lobster and shrimp Alfredo pasta which was so flavorful. We also had the oxtail with white rice and plantain which the oxtail was tender and flavorful. Overall the service was a bit slow but the food was fresh and came hot to the table. For was also very good. However it is overpriced for some people as our bill was about $200

DJ and out door seating options.

Beautifully decorated inside and out! Kekoon offers valet parking and ample self parking space. Security is present from checking bags at entrance and in moderation inside. The design of bar area to inside seating to patio seating shows the thought process behind the experience. Our party was present for a Bday celebration and were presented with seating options despite not having a reservation (initial spot did not follow up with that reservation and Kekoon was a great plan B). We opted to sit outside as the area had a DJ and was amenable to smoking. QR codes were placed on tables and a server also was present to answer questions. The main 4 star designation was due to discrepancy between menu on website and menu via QR code onsite. Also, many items were no longer available. I had already looked at menu (on website) and mentally ordered the tostones with crab meat appetizer and snapper filet meal. Unfortunately the snapper filet was not on QR menu! Smh. Opted for lobster sandwich with a side of festival. The tostones were good. I was advised by server that the crabmeat would be chilled and was still agreeable to try. It would have been better warmed, and the lobster sandwich was decent. Did not care for the fried lobster meat, but the taste was still good and festival was nice too. Others in my party had the oxtail pasta, oxtail meal with rice and peas, tequila salmon meal, and wings. We sampled each other's food selections and overall were good, but not anything that stood out as a must have. Drinks were good with the lychee martini and purple lotus being the favorites. Ambiance in general was lively, and everyone seemed to be celebrating - Bdays, pending nuptials & life in general! :-) The DJ added to the party atmosphere, but had more than one questionable moment regarding mixing of music. lol. The smoke friendly environment was primarily 420 and also extended to cigars and an occasional cigarette. Hookahs were also available for purchase. Overall a great place to celebrate any occasion!

Kekoon was a whole vibe! We went on a Thursday eveninv which is Ladies night. Free drinks before 12am! The outdoor patio seating gave it the perfect laid-back island feel. The DJ kept the energy up all night with great music, and the food was on point. That Jerk Chicken Pasta had a nice kick to it but it was so delicious. The drinks were nice and strong -- just how I like them, especially the Strawberry Margarita. Service is a bit slow on the patio though however all the servers were so friendly. Overall, a fun, chill spot to unwind and enjoy good music, food, and vibes.

So I came back but this time for Ladies Night on a Thursday and it was so unorganized. The main restaurant was closed so everyone was on the patio. I had reservations so we were able to sit down quickly. It took an hour for our drinks and food to come out, they literally had 1 bar tender servicing us all and it was pretty much a decent crowd. Once the drinks came out they brought me the wrong drink, we barely saw our waitress, a guy server ended up helping our table and bringing us drinks, thank god for him, the manager had to be called at one point because it was just too much going on. They had 2 djs, the 2nd one was amazing and interacted well with the crowd, he made the night much better. This time I tried the salmon sliders which were beyond delicious, I could eat them all day lol, the coconut shrimp and fries were okay. I'll probably be back but next time I'll know it will be a long wait. Big shout out to the manager Mike and to the tall slim server who helped us and turned the night around because I was ready to leave asap lol

What. A. Vibe. I came here to celebrate one of my sorority sisters, and this spot understood the assignment. The energy was electric, the food looked like it belonged on a billboard, and the live reggae band set the tone just right. Just when I thought the night couldn't get better--Gyptian hit the stage and turned the whole place up! I danced, laughed, and soaked it all in. Definitely one for the books. 5 out of 5 stars!

It's a smallish restaurant but they also have seating outside. From what I understand they do have an area for private parties. We were seated and given our menus and told about the house specials. I ordered the taglioline cacio e pepe and my husband got the fettuccine meatballs. All the pastas in the restaurant are homemade and the one I ordered was prepared table side in a cheese wheel. I don't even know where to start except to say that this was so delicious and definitely one of the best Italian dishes I've ever had. The cheese sauce was so creamy and there was a slight taste of truffle in there. They ask you if you'd like pepper in it so I had them add a little bit to cut out some of the creaminess of the sauce. My husband's fettuccine was equally as delicious and I loved the meatballs and I'm usually not a person who likes restaurant made meatballs because I think mine are the best! For dessert we split a slice of tiramisu and it was very good. Sangria was very good as well. Mimmo, the owner and chef came over to say hello and to make sure we were enjoying our food and service. It was really nice chatting with him and I told him that we are definitely going to be repeat customers! It's not visible from the street so I'd suggest using your GPS there first time you go there unless you're familiar with the area.

We dined here as part of a bachelorette celebration and appreciated that they offer a private dining room for special events--perfect for groups! We started with a classic selection of Italian appetizers: Bruschetta - Lightly toasted bread topped with bright, juicy tomatoes, garlic, and a drizzle of olive oil. It tasted so fresh and vibrant. Love the Italian Meatballs. It was perfect sizing, tender, flavorful in a rich, tomato sauce. Perfectly seasoned and comforting. The Burrata & Prosciutto so worth having! The burrata was creamy, and perfectly balanced by the salty, paper-thin slices of prosciutto. It's like it melted in my mouth. For the main, we ordered two traditional pasta dishes that absolutely delivered: Cacio e Pepe which was served tableside in a parmesan wheel. The bolognese a combination of pomodoro, pork and beef - meaty, and full of flavor with a little hint of sweetness from the tomatoes. It was comforting and so satisfying. I'm not a big tomato girl--usually get heartburn--but everything was so fresh and balanced that I felt great afterward. That says a lot! You know dessert was a must! I tried the tiramisu - Light, creamy, and not overly sweet. A well-balanced classic. Omg the Caramel Cheesecake is a must! Kind of a silky texture from the Carmel but decadent just the same - divine. Our server, Christian, was amazing--attentive, efficient, and incredibly patient with our group. The food came out timely, and everyone at the table left full and happy. Highly recommend visiting this spot.
