So I came out on a Friday night and it was pretty chill. Good vibes, older crowd, everyone's minding their business either eating or dancing. A band came out later that night and played. The music is mostly reggae but there was a moment where the had a little hip hop in there. Around 12 am it can get crowded but no worries this place is pretty big outside. As for food I ordered pholourie which was ok but definitely not the best I had. I also had the Caribbean Jerk Shrimp which came with fries, now this was really good. It was really spicy and extremely flavorful. I wasn't really hungry so that's all I had but overall this was a chill decent spot. Ohh there's a guy who sells corn soup right outside, you have to try it. Thank me later.

Pretty shocked at the amount of food I got for $9. Typically when dining in to Caribbean restaurants prices are jacked up than your usual to go so I was happy about that. I was hungry so the Brown stew chicken served it's purpose. I lovedddd their little hot sauce. I wish the waitress didn't grab it or else I was definitely taking that home. Service was lack luster but I have to say I didn't expect much. I went for a brunch party and it took 40 minutes to get a menu to the point I thought they didn't have food.

I wish that I would've taken a picture before eating! Mid-way eating, I decided that this place deserves a 5-star review. The food is great! Everything. We tried 3 different meals. Curry shrimp, shrimp pasta + jerk sauce, & the sweet chili salmon & I honestly can't tell you which 1 tastes the best! This is our 1st time coming here. The vibe is great. They have multiple bars & a performance area for special events. Staff is nice as well. Restaurant is clean. Bathroom is clean. & the price is great. Super affordable. I definitely will come here again. 10/10 recommend!

Lallo's is always a vibe and I don't think I've ever had a bad meal here. The vibe at night is completely different in the day though so if you wanna turn up, come at night. The day time menu is also a little different. If you want specialty plates like the jerk chicken pasta, you have to wait until later on in the afternoon/evening. I highly recommend their oxtail with rice and beans, and green salad. Their curry and roti is also delicious.

Most people I know come here for a drink and a late night lime. I tried this place once for doubles and was so disgusted I said I wouldn't return. Years later, I found myself dropping regularly with friends for drinks and also around Miami carnival season. The venue is beautiful and can get really packed late nights. Love that there is so much parking to accommodate everyone easily. Bartenders are normally straight faced but real good with mixing. The music is always a win. Either soca or reggae are in normal rotation and sometimes there is a live band that plans in the open area on Friday/Saturday nights. After several people tell me about the food improvements I finally pop up for a meal. The improvements are quickly noticeable. For one, the amount of food that comes out feels like it has doubled. While the food is plentiful and come out quicker it feels like they have dialed back on the seasonings. But the sauces pack them right back in. Crab cakes were more crab them bread crumbs. Flavoring kinda dull but helped greatly my season sauces. Curry Conch was very good. I had the most tender conch. Wait time was reasonable but when sitting for a late dinner we were told that our server could not bring us drinks? They must be purchased from the bar that was less than a few in front of us? We order at the bar and then told we must pay immediately and then that are drinks will not be served to the table. We have to wait at the bar? seriously were feet from the bar. I later learn that our bartender is very new. Might have been her first day and she had no one else with her. Every drink that we paid for we later learn the bar can't make because it's missing a key part. They were out of banana and pineapple everything. Food was ok. Music ok. Outside service for drinks and food ok. Inside service still a way to go.

Incompetent. Incompetent. Incompetent. Ordered pickup from this place and both times it has been a disaster. And they DO NOT CARE. The first time I ordered, I waited for service and no one addressed me or asked what I was waiting for. I was ignored countless times until I approached angrily to finally receive my order that had been sitting there. I decided to give them another chance and yet I was met with the same disappointing experience. I ordered at 10:15pm via phone (This is after 2 call attempts and one long hold). I placed my order and no information was taken, yet I figured there were only a limited amount of phone orders at this time. I was told it would be 15 MINUTES. I arrived in said time and they did not have the order. I was told no order was placed. I replaced the order and 15...30...45...50min later I waited. Approached angrily again, asked for a manager, making them uncomfortable enough to search for the order that, low and behold, had been sitting on the shelf the whole time. Never order from here. West Indian establishments do not know how to do business.

This was my first time here and the vibe was good. The curry goat and roti was sooooo YUM! They have vendors who are selling some awesome products & natural products. The live band did a phenomenal job when I went , Saturday, May 14 .

First time here mainly because we got tickets to the Soca wine and food festival. We like wine and good food and enjoy seeking out small businesses to patronage. As soon as we pulled up the music was bumping which is a great sign to me, as I hope the energy of the music matches the people. After entering the covered courtyard there were tables all around some for wine tasting and other business selling items. After tasting the wine on hand we felt the creep of the buzz and was starting to get hungry so we ventured inside to sit at the bar. I can't remember the name of the female behind the bar, mind you she was working the bar by herself, but she was attentive, friendly, and professional. She gave us some suggestions since it was our first time here, so went with some sweet and spicy wings and fries as an appetizer. Those were pretty good per my Wife, I just nibbled on some fries. To drink we were hooked up with Caribbean rum punch and umm we only needed one of those, she did not skip on the Malibu and it was delicious. For our entree we had the chicken resta pasta and oxtail with beans and rice. The pasta was creamy and delicious. My wife sucking and nawaing on the oxtails like no tomorrow lol. The prices were great and the portions were plenty, we had enough to take home for a second meal. If we are ever in the area again we would visit, mind you we live W. Kendall. But we know most of the better Caribbean restaurants are in the Broward County area.

I have been coming here for a few years and I usually only get doubles because they are absolutely delicious, but today I decided to try's something new. The Rasta pasta with shrimp and I must say I'm sooo happy I did! This plate was soo good and was a healthy portion! I thoroughly enjoyed every bite! I can't wait to go back and try the chicken and venture off into other meals they serve!

I was excited to try Lallos. The building set's itself apart from other business in the area as it looks like a palace. The restaurant is impressive, there is a gorgeous full bar, outside patio & an upstairs event space. I was impressed by the decor and design. The food lacked flavor. I ordered two doubles and an aloo pie. The bara (doubles skin) was cold and lacked flavor. It tasted as through the skins were made earlier in the day. Doubles bara skin taste best when freshly fried. The channa (garbanzo beans) inside was bland and lacked favor. The alloo pie was also tasteless. I hoped for great things from Lallos, hopefully the food gets better.

We arrived around 11 PM on a Friday and the place had great energy. It was lively without feeling overwhelming, and a few tables looked like they were celebrating special occasions, which added to the vibe. The music was excellent and honestly brought back a bit of that nostalgic, high school party feel in the best way. We ordered a couple of drinks and they were definitely strong and well made. The service stood out just as much as the atmosphere. The owner was incredibly pleasant and attentive, checking in with us several times to make sure we were taken care of. You could tell she genuinely cared about the guests. I also learned the owners are Trini and Guyanese, which I loved because it added a nice personal touch to the experience. As a first time visitor, I really appreciated that she thanked us for coming when we left. It made the experience feel welcoming and personal. I'll definitely be back to try the food. As a vegetarian, I'm hoping to make a special request since there aren't many Chinese vegetarian options on the menu, but I'm confident they'll accommodate it. We left after 1 AM and people were still coming in, so it's clearly a popular late night spot. Great location right off University with plenty of parking, which makes it super convenient. Overall, a great night, great energy, and a place I'll be returning to.

I've been eating there since they were in their original location connected to Lauderhill Mall, and no matter how many restaurants I've visited as a chef, Joy's has always felt like home. Walk through the front door and you'll see the large photo of Mr. Vishwanath "Joy" Sawh. That picture is more than decoration--it's a reminder of the man whose kindness and passion built a place that has fed generations of South Floridians. I'm grateful I had the opportunity to meet him. He was genuinely one of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet. And the food? Simply outstanding. Their doubles are, in my opinion, the best in Broward--soft, fresh, perfectly balanced, and packed with authentic Trinidadian flavor. It's no surprise they're one of the dishes people rave about over and over in public reviews. The curry goat is tender and deeply seasoned. The curry chicken is rich and comforting. The curry duck is phenomenal. The stew chicken tastes like it came straight from a family kitchen. Pair any of them with their flavorful rice and peas, curry potatoes, or curry chickpeas, and you understand why Joy's has built such a loyal following over the years. But believe it or not... my favorite side is the pumpkin. Funny enough, I used to never eat pumpkin. Mr. Joy himself convinced me to give it a chance, telling me how good it was for me. If you know what I mean I finally listened--and I've been hooked ever since. It's funny how the smallest conversations can stay with you forever. Don't leave without trying their homemade pepper sauce either. It brings just the right amount of heat while letting the flavors of the food shine. As an Executive Chef who's fortunate enough to eat at restaurants across South Florida, I know great food when I taste it. But what separates Joy's isn't just the cooking--it's the heart behind it. The recipes, the consistency, the culture, and the people have made this place a landmark for Trinidadian cuisine. Rest in peace, Mr. Vishwanath "Joy" Sawh. Thank you for the meals, the conversations, and the legacy you've left behind. Your name still brings people together around a table, and that's one of the greatest accomplishments anyone in the restaurant business could ever hope for. Some legacies are written in history books. Yours is written in every plate that comes out of that kitchen.
