Lallos is an upscale Caribbean restaurant with a variety of items on the menu from crab cakes, to roti, curry, doubles, to brunch, to burgers and wings. The pickiest eater should have no problems finding a few good options. The place is huge. It's not your typical hole in the wall Caribbean restaurant. They have outdoor and indoor seating. The outdoor patio is beautiful. Beautifully paved flooring, with nice patio chairs and tables. Last night (Sat night) they had a DJ playing the best soca, calypso, reggae, and chutney soca tunes creating a nice vibe to go along with the food and decor. To start, me and my party ordered 2 doubles (one with curry duck), an aloo pie, pholourie, and 2 shandy's. It was a great starting point but I think our eyes were bigger than our belly's. We ordered too much too soon. For those that dont know, Doubles is a west Indian dish (primarily Trinidadian and Guyanese dish) made with two round pieces of fried dough infused with curry powder and cumin (called baras) and curried chickpeas (called channa) in the middle. It is the perfect quick snack. They make theirs pretty big so I was literally full by the second doubles. My friend ordered the aloo pie. Aloo pie is fried dough with aloo (seasoned mashed potato) in the middle. Again, it was a big portion and very filling. She also ordered the pholourie (more fried dough, go figure lol, but this one is split pea dough fried into balls, like donut holes) which is served with a side of tamarind and mango sauce. Because the appetizers were so filling, we ended up taking a large portion of the main entrees home. However, We ordered a veggie dhalpourie roti and a shrimp dhalpourie roti. The veggie roti comes with bhaji (spinach), pumpkin, bodi (curried green beans), and potato. The dhalpourie (roti with split peas inside the dough) was flavorful and soft. The shrimp roti was also to die for. They did not skimp on the shrimp. Big, succulent, well seasoned curried shrimp and potato with slight pepper, wrapped in a soft dhalpourie roti skin. Everything was good. The vibes were really nice. We did not intend to stay long, but...when the DJ started playing, and everyone got off their tables to dance we ended up ordering a bucket of Corona and chilling a little longer. I enjoyed my Saturday night here. A great chill spot. I will most definitely be back. read more

First time at Lallos. Nice looking place. Had dinner inside because the DJ was outside. Self seating. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. Drinks were proper. Now the food.... the food was excellent!!! Flavor was on the money! I can't say enough about the food. The bartender with the tattoos was very friendly and attentive. The quasi grandiose building, the cafeteria table and chairs and the smiling but smart phone obsessed lonely server who didn't hear my request for a refill of bad tasting diet coke because of the verrrry loud music and her said obsession with her phone. Good drinks and a good staff. You definitely get the Caribbean Island vibes when you come here. Live DJ, loud music, good food. Sometimes they don't have all the supplies to make every drink on the menu but they will improvise. They have some pretty good Tamarind Chicken Wings. Terrible place, there was a car meet here, so we decided to give the food a try. They were out of all beef items and we were told 20 minutes after placing our order. So we ordered doubles, arrived an hour later and still the rest of our food didn't arrive. Which was chicken tenders and a chicken wrap. An hour and a half to get our food and it was still wrong! The shrimp sliders were frozen and did not have the sauces that they were suppose to be included. They didn't even get the drink order correct, a lemonade was ordered and a beer was delivered a club soda instead got tap water. My family and I love going to Lallo's for the soca & reggae music nights. The vibe is so much fun and the food is always tasty. I'm not sure when the people who say the doubles are dry went... because I've never experienced that. I have gone on busy nights when they are probably busier and making more food but it's ALWAYS hot and well seasoned all you might need is some pepper sauce. Was really excited to go because it was live music . What a mistake.... The one star was for decent music. It took an 1:11 minutes to get our food and when my food came out it was the wrong order. Then my wife's order came out and that was also wrong. At that point we had enough and asked for the check. The waitress was not apologetic and had an attitude . She never returned to get the bill. We had to flag the security guard down to give him the check. It is really a shame because there isn't many Caribbean places with live music but this place will be short lived if they don't clean up there staffs act! read more

This place was super busy during Miami carnival weekend. We had the pularhi and it was pretty good. We had duck in our doubles and it was ok. They basically put the meat from duck curry into the doubles. My first bite had a huge bone in it. But the doubles were good, just wish it didn't have any bones. Totally a fan of Lallo's. I was in the mood for some Caribbean food and needed some curry in my life so I called up fellow Yelper Kim A. to see if she was down for the curry cause. And she sure was! I'm so glad we went. It's a huge establishment that has indoor and outdoor seating. We decided to sit outside and was greeted promptly and our server came over right away. She was very gracious and helpful with food choices. We ordered the: Vegetable curry that came with Roti -so much food that can be shared with at least 3ppl. Aloo Pie- never had it before and it too can be shared as it's a large size Kim A ordered 2 doubles- I tasted some and boy was it good. We both had Shandy to wash it all down it. I forgot to mention that great soca music was playing so it was a nice addition to the great food. Monday night place not even busy , we go sit at the bar waited about 10 mins to order a drink I tried to order 2 drinks and was told not available bc bartender-was not there today so I asked for the rum punch but coincidence the girl working could make that? Another customer waiting at the bar for take out got her order brought to her wrong 2x as we sat there so I already knew what was coming.. I ordered a aloo pie w beef which was decent my husband ordered a doubles and it was stale but freshly microwaved. After getting my rum punch and finishing it I never got asked if I wanted anything else .. so we placed a to go order that was brought out and after we checked it , was wrong ofcourse.. my husband ordered a conch roti w goat and it included one piece of goat with sour conch gravy and couple pieces of conch added but ofcourse a whole set Chana with it to fill up the container ... my stew chicken was alright ... once and last time ... clearly that place is a front set up for some other business purpose .. stick with joys or Singh's roti shop at least they get it right most of the time read more

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! My friend ended up with her meal being sent back because it was cold and then having hair in the next dish. The wait time for food, even on a slow night is HORRIBLE. We waited for an hour and everyone food did not come all together. They messed up our orders, the meals were brought out piece by piece instead of a whole meal. The appetizer came out with the entrees instead of coming out first. We complained to the manager and he showed NO CARE in the world. Everyone was frustrated and was not hungry. It was everyone's first time at this restaurant and WE WILL NEVER RETURN BACK. Customer service ? Yeah barely. So disappointed. They ended up adding everyone's order on one bill and cut it in half so everyone just spilt that price. The place is beautiful on the outside but just wasn't great on the inside. First I must say the restaurant is very nice. Great atmosphere and DJ was great but that's all that's great about this place. The service is horrible.We were a party of 5 we order a bottle of vodka with ginger ale and club soda. We waited an hour before we could get the drink, when it came out they brought tonic water instead of club soda when we question that they said they don't have club soda. What bar in America does not have club soda. We order some appetizer what took another hour to get minus a few thing that they ran out of. At about 10.30 p.m the DJ announce that they have no west indian appetizer only American appetizer. What is suppose to be a caribbean restaurant doesn't have caribbean appetizer. This place have no organization or no proper management. You have 3 different waitresses coming to take the same order that took more than an hour to get. As for the manager Christina she need a lesson in hospitality. Obviously she don't have a clue how to manage a restaurant. I doubt whither she have any education because she's very ignorant. In an american restaurant she would not last a day she's lucky Lallo is her uncle. All she does is walk around and act important instead of trying to accommodate the customers. I've seen that night many dissatisfied customers. I'm a west Indian and I like to support my fellow west indian but if Lallo want to succeed in this business they need a lot of training and a whole new staff. Lallo believe west indians doesn't have any class so they assume that everyone in that demographic haven't uplifted their life in America so they think and act like we're all still in the carribbean. Well they charge $30 at the door with 11:30 p.m. which is not a problem. But the whole thing is that they played the same kind of music all night long Soca. I have no issue with that at all but to play all night around 1:00 people starting to leave and three people requested a little reggae and Hip-Hop and you waited for like another hour we all waited for another hour and still Soca nothing else I mean everybody just started leaving shaking their heads it was just ridiculous and on that particular night the DJ just kept talking to her and her own music Which it's like she was feeling herself more than anybody else was feeling the music the drinks were great that's about the only thing that was the best part of the night. read more

Go into this restaurant on a Friday evening. Sit at a table...ask for menus. Then no one comes back to take your order. Go to the counter where food is ordered (inside) and ask two waitresses to take my order and they tell me no they are too busy. Go back to my seat flagged down a third waitress who then blares how if we don't see her running around and she is so busy. My husband clasped his hand in order to beg for her to take our order and then is when she was willing. How do you go into a restaurant as a paying customer and beg them to take your order. I went to Llalos yesterday afternoon, to order some roti wraps and a few doubles. The place itself was pretty empty so it's hard to say what the service is like. It's clean, well put together, pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. The patio area with a bar was very nice. The counter was empty so my order was taken quickly. I had high hopes for this place. My chicken roti wrap lacked flavor and was very dry. It was huge. I'll get two meals out of it, easily. The doubles were cold on the outside but warm in the inside. I will go again.
