1st time? I canceled. 2nd time? He canceled. 3rd time? It's *indeed* the charm. Three attempts we made to go to Submarine Crab. For three Sundays straight, dinner was the plan, and it wasn't until this past Sunday that everything fell into place. My friend and I arrived at 7 PM and it was surprisingly empty. There was perhaps one table with a family dining there. A bit surprising given the reviews of this place and how it's always slammed. Maybe we just got lucky. At any rate, we sat and were attended immediately by a gentleman who I believe was named John. He gave us a few minutes as it was my first time there. My friend, meanwhile, had been there before, but you know deciding what to order takes time. We chose to do one of their combos, Combo #1, as it brought a variety of foods and we figured it would be perfect for two people. Given that I'm picky with seafood, we made some substitutions. We had mussels over clams and shrimp over crawfish. The latter we would have had anyway as crawfish is apparently out of season. This combo came with sausages, corn, and potatoes. My friend isn't a fan of sausage, so we substituted it with two eggs instead. Did I mention that this heap of food also came with a major side of bread? So major it was that we had to ask for a knife to be able to cut it properly to be able to dip in our Cajun boil. Speaking of the Cajun boil, we ordered it with torpedo sauce, which is a mix of all their sauces. We chose to have this medium as both my friend and I enjoy spice, but we feared overspicing the boil. Honestly it was a wise decision. While I didn't find it spicy, or at least my tongue didn't, my nose disagreed as it began to ran. Not to mention all this spice leaves an aftertaste. Which reminds me... they only have tea for dessert. Boo! And the Cajun boil in itself was a tad difficult to eat. Constantly peeling shrimp and a couple of shrimp weren't properly deveined. It made eating a mission. Definitely watch what you're eating at this place. I found their cutting style lazy. Lastly, there's an 18% gratuity automatically included, but I don't have an issue with this. Service was amazing! My one issue with this place is their treatment of shrimp. This visit, we came for early dinner around 4 PM on Friday, the restaurant was not busy, got plenty of tables available. We ordered Combo 2 with Torpedo sauce. This is my all time favorite sauce, very tasty and nice kick to it. Dip the bread to the sauce. It's so good! Coming from a seafood state, expectations are always high. I stumbled across this place from a yelp search. I have to admit that when I walked in, I was a little hesitant but Johnathan and the entire staff were extremely welcoming and kind. You got the vibe that you were sitting at your family's table. They were very informative and had some awesome suggestions. We never felt that they were trying to upsell us. They let us order just enough and insisted we could always order more- which we did! We ordered the #3 combo, 1lb of snow crabs, garlic noodles, grilled oysters and mussels, and chicken wings. Everything. Was. Ahhmazing! My only regret is that I didn't take any photos of the food. We were too busy enjoying our meal. We had a party of 6; all different ages and tastebuds. Everyone left beyond satisfied! Even our picky eaters couldn't stop eating. A friend told me about this place for crawfish. Decided to try it out. Came for dinner however very long wait. Had to put our name down and wait an hr and a half before being seated. VERY BUSY! The nice thing is that you can put your name down and then leave and check your place on the wait list so you don't have to wait outside the restaurant until it's your turn. Many different options to choose for seafood. They have set combos for you to choose from or you can create your own. There are crawfish, mussels, clams, shrimps, three types of crabs and lobster. Other options include sausage, corn, and bread. Also various appetizers- fries, fried rice, garlic noodles etc. we decided to order sweet potato fries, crab rangoon, crab legs, fried rice and garlic noodles. All the dishes were delicious! Especially the fried rice; it was very flavorful. Garlic noodles were a little dry. We choose the torpedo sauce in medium and it was the perfect medley of flavors. A little spicy but definitely the sauce to try. We were stuffed after but our bellies were happy. It's a different, fun eating experience with friends. This is strictly for oyster lovers. It's becoming increasingly difficult to find raw oysters on the half shell at a restaurant. And if you happen to be lucky to find them they have gotten extremely expensive. I happen to be in the Pembroke Pines area and I called a couple of different restaurants to see if they had any. This was the only restaurant that said yes. This place is kind of dive barish but the service is impeccable, the hosts were friendly, and I was served quickly and promptly. I was recently given this place as a suggestion to try since I love crabs. It's centrally located near the Pembroke Gardens Mall in a nice little location. The place itself is pretty small so wait times is something you will more than likely always run into. The staff was quite friendly and always seemed to be available if needed. Seating accommodations for 2 took about 15 to 20 minutes so definitely not that long.The food to me wasn't that mazing as other local seafood businesses. They do offer a variety of seasonings such as cajun, garlic butter, lemon pepper and etc. I chose the lemon pepper but was disappointed the taste seemed off I questioned if it was made incorrectly or had been mixed with another order. The typical items that come in the boils dont automatically come with your order here. Its an additional fee for example potatoes, corn, sausages etc. This place doesn't have mixed drinks but does offer beer or wine. I did see a few specialty teas avaliable for purchase as well. Overall the experience was meh. I personally wouldn't visit again because it wasn't a fan fave. I would say to each its own opinion. My third time coming to the establishment. My mom loves sea food and this is her 70th bday. She loves the garlic butter sauce with her seafood. I like spicy the classic cajun is good. Prices for the seafood pretty reasonably from other places I have tried. Clean inside and friendly staff. I personally like the king crab legs, shrimp,snow crab legs and lobster. I always get full and cant get a chance to eat the rice. Next time I come hopefully I can let you know. Nice vibes for a group who loves seafood you can share but I dont lol. This is in a plaza with many people in and out due to all the restaurants and shops but plenty of parking. My friend got here before me and took a seat. It was pretty crowded for a Wednesday. We started with oysters and the crab ragoons. My friend also ordered for her kids and they are kid friendly! The crab ragoons were very good. It came with a honey mango sauce that was delicious. Our server was super patient since we ordered in different times and constant. We decided to get the combo 2 to split between us three. Since we wanted to sub snow crabs for king crabs - the server told us they give you 1.5 lbs of snow crab in place of 1lb of king. Fine with us! We asked with the torpedo sauce was and it was explained as just a mix of all the others and most popular. We got that at medium heat. Food came out and we dug in. We got bibs and gloves given to us with small plates. We made a mess! We had to ask for my napkins. The food was delicious. The sauce was so good. When in Pembroke Pines, Submarine Crab is a must and you're missing out if you've never tried this cajun/creole seafood. We customized our order with Shrimp (1 lb), Potatoes, Sausage, and Corn Cob drenched in their Classic Cajun sauce with some added spiciness and a side of white rice. The Cajun sauce is what makes this dish incredible. It's sooo finger lickin' good. We also tried the Seafood Pasta. It was a bit repetitive with the shrimp and sausage, but it also came with squid and mussels. Overall, it was a little more mild and lighter on the cajun flavor, but much more buttery. Very delish thanks to the butter. Crawfish is usually the popular item on a cajun/creole menu, but we didn't bother with this since it's more work for such little meat. Our total bill + tax was $32.07 and fairly cheap for two people for this type of food and we still had some leftovers to take home. Submarine Crab is very similar to Cajun Boil in Miami, but with much better service. It's also similar to the Boiling Crab although I haven't been there yet. read more

This is a small restaurant with a limited amount of seating and it fills up fast. Once we sat down I noticed a sign taped to the wall notifying us that an 18% gratuity is added to all orders (no matter the size of your party). I felt some type of way about this. It was my mom's birthday so we decided to order in from submarine. My dad raved about how amazing their sauce was as well as their fried rice, if dad says its good its a must try! They are still closed for dine in it is only take out. We ordered 2 combo # 3 one with the orignal cajun sauce medium and the other with the torpedo sauce medium, we order a 1lb of mussels and the cajun fried rice. I was disappoint that they were out of the crawfish, but that just gives me another reason to come back and I will definitely come back. The staff was nice when I went to pick up the order and made sure they labels the bags before handing it to me. I recommend ordering the combo 3 but instead of calms order it with the mussels. the calms where small and did not have much meat like most calms are. The torpedo sauce is a MUST when it comes to the sauces. I was not a fan of the fried rice because it was on the saltier end but my family enjoyed it. We discovered Submarine Crab by chance after having a massive seafood craving. We were delighted to learn Submarine Crab is a captain's boil style spot for Seafood with a Cajun/Asian inspired twist. For the massive amounts of seafood, we felt the prices were very reasonable - you generally pay by the pound for the seafood you want. You pick the seafood and you pick a sauce - we went with "Torpedo", which is a blend of all of their sauces. The sauces come as mild, medium, or hot and we chose the middle road. They have a strong assortment of items; clams, mussels, shrimp, crawfish, 3 types of crab (snow, dungeoness, king), and lobster. With that you can get sausage, potatoes, or corn on the cob to throw into the mix. We got a combo of shrimp, clams, crawfish, and snow crab. The food came out quickly and piping hot (erasing all fears it was undercooked!). The sauce is very oily, but amazing. This isn't a place to eat healthy, but rather to go nuts and enjoy! Separately, they have plenty of side dishes including fries, garlic noodles, Cajun fried rice, etc. We got the fried rice and can't recommend it enough. The sweet potato fries were also excellent. Pro tip! Get the bread and dip in the sauce. It's to die for. The only reason I couldn't give a Submarine five stars is because of their seating policy. It's an extremely busy restaurant, and there's almost always a waitlist. You can't make reservations and so, if you're waitlisted, be prepared to get to the restaurant within 15 mins or less to get your spot! We've seen wait times commonly exceed one hour! read more

Submarine Crab is the best place to get anything Cajun. Cuz if it's Cajun it's amazing! Although the place is small, it is very amazing. The moment you walk in you feel like you're in a submarine! The thing they are known for is everything in the "dive in" .. it's like a Louisiana boil which is later tossed in a sauce. The sauce I recommend most is the torpedo sauce (classic Cajun, lemon pepper, and garlic butter combined!!!) it's the house sauce. I like to get my order spicy and they will say spicy is really spicy but it's all based on your tolerance. You don't want it too spicy that you won't enjoy it. Keep in mind, you can make something more spicy but not less! Aside from all the boil, my second favorite thing is the Cajun fried rice which comes in a big enough portion to share, or eat it as a meal. It's also made to order, as you can take anything out that you don't like or allergic to. Have someone in your party that doesn't like seafood or allergic? They have some underrated chicken wings that taste great when they are well done. Lemon pepper and honey mango hits the spot! Towards the end of the meal we were given a hand wash that really brings life to this place. They drop a piece of dry ice in a tariff with water and soap and it bubbles up so you can wash your hands! If you are a shellfish lover this is the place for you! Delicious food and attentive service. Let me first advise that you should be prepared to get messy! You are provided with a bib, gloves and plenty of napkins but sometimes that just isn't enough! That being said, you are provided with either selecting a combo platter that has different seafood options with corn sausage and bread OR you can select your seafood a la carter and purchase by the pound. You can also choose from a selection of sauces and spice level for your seafood. The torpedo sauce is my absolute favorite and I always select at medium spice. We ordered the grilled scallops which were delicious, I just felt the scallops were too small...maybe that's the gluten in me wanting more! This trip I decided to try the crab Rangoon and this has to be one of the best I have ever tried. You can taste the crab with the perfect amount of cream cheese and the spices inside is just an explosion in your mouth! Worth every penny. This is a fantastic seafood dig. I love getting 1lb of King Crab just in garlic butter for my main meal, a side of crab rangoons, and fries. The king crabs are delicious and when they're swimming in that butter they taste even better. I really enjoy their french fries here, they're those nice skinny and crispy ones. The crab rangoons are also pretty tasty. They have a nice cream cheese, herby-concoction along with the crab inside. The sauce that comes with it--the sweet & sour sauce is also a lovely compliment. We also tried the Cajun rice and it was amazing and packed with different flavors and seasonings. Finally, the service is quite good here. They are very attentive and patient with explaining different options. Today, my family went and everyone got a pound of king crab legs except for my mom, who ordered two lobster tails. She was struggling to open up the lobster tails on her own, and I was having difficulty getting them open, too. Our waitress was kind of enough to do the work for her! What a fun restaurant! Submarine Crab is a seafood restaurant that provides many options and really hits the spot! The service is always consistent here. My water was always filled and we are checked up on frequently (but not too frequent that it was annoying). The restaurant itself is a bit small so it gets pretty busy on the weekends at dinner time. My suggestion is that you either come in early or come in on a weekday. When I dine with just my boyfriend and I, we either order 1 pound of snow crab plus 1 pound of shrimp and an order of the fried rice. This is just enough for 2 people! We always go with the Torpedo sauce which is to die for. We order it medium spicy, just the right amount of kick that is perfect with the garlicky tangy torpedo sauce. Be sure to order one of their signature drinks as well! My favorite is the mermaid (passionfruit with rainbow jelly and basil seeds) and my boyfriend enjoys the seahorse (mango with lychee jelly). They also offer beer and wine. The reason I say it is a fun restaurant is because their drinks are unique in that they add dry ice, providing a nice presentation.
