Hey ya'll! Gotta give this establishment much respect. The amount of food, great! The quality of the food, awesome! I got enough food for two days and this what I grabbed. I did the three wings. They give you whole wings, ten fried shrimp and fries. Bussin!' Then I got a pound of snow crab with the garlic seasoning, BIG BUSSIN!' I like my food crispy, and it definitely came that way. But still air fried they a little because I ordered delivery. It didn't take away from the quality what so ever. I was stuffed, just from the wings, shrimp and fries. So I planned to smash the snow crabs the next day. Heat those up in the oven, the packaging was superb. Amount was great! Paired it with leftover Longhorn steak from my birthday. A no frills place. You can either wait in the long drive through line or park, go inside & get almost immediate service although the wait for your food is about 15-20 minutes. Even if you wanted, you cannot eat inside. The catfish was well fried & tasty although I couldn't figure out what the white dusting of powder was. read more

You always know "what you're going to get" when you order from Cap't Max. They are pretty much consistent. I often order the Blue Crabs or the Snow Crabs and have never complained about my order. I always ask them to hold the 'seasoning shake' on the wings, fries, etc. The food is good and the service is good, as well. By the way, be prepared to wait. read more

Great seasoning.... Crabs are tiny so very little meat from them after you've paid for a pound of shells. The crabs are so young that they are still see thru. Shrimp was great. Fish is good. Late night ordering is a struggle. Be ready to wait at least 30-45 minutes at the drive thru. That lock the lobby for who knows when..... So all the Uber eats drivers are attacking the drive thru window while you're sitting there waiting to get your food. So now someone else's food is being passed basically through your car. I can pass on this place...... Ever again. Definitely not worth the cost. Side note: don't order the lobster tails 11 piece (2-4oz) $22.... My boss kept trying to convince me to try captain max because I was weary of how the building looks . I've passed by it many times and was worried because it looks a little run down on the outside and honestly the inside doesn't do it any justice either. However he got me to finally try their lunch meal. Which is $4.99 for fried breaded fish and shrimp and a side of fries. It comes with this white powdered seasoning which is supposed to be a a secret recipe to this place. They have been open for years and now I understand why. This is when you can apply the saying "Don't judge a book by its cover" The fish was cooked enough so that they oil didn't sweep through when you ate it and wow the shrimp! You can tell their seafood is fresh ! I'm not a huge fan of shrimp but this was thick and a full batch I mean for $4.99 I couldn't complain ! Something to add was that I have huge heartburn issues and I usually am very sensitive when an oil is not cleaned usually but I had no acid reflux after eating this meal. The food was good but the wait in the drive thru was ridiculously long. They should definitely work on that process to make the wait shorter. But overall I enjoyed the food and will go back. The floors needs to be sweep and moped there are flies everywhere who knows if it touch the food or not. Definitely a great seafood / fish fry place. Very consistent and good quality. Staff is always friendly and never had any issues with my orders. Food is made to order. The drive thru line is long at times but moves. You can call ahead if you want and even order on uber eats. Prices are very fair based on the quantity and quality. I'm not understanding the complaints about the drive thru wait when there's a sign that says something along the lines of... please be patient because meals are cooked to order. I've been coming here for years and the only thing that deters me sometimes is the drive thru line because a majority of people use it. The food is good. So I've been coming to captain max for years and after the service I had to day I definitely won't be back. Over that years their service and quality of their food has declined. Today after they refused to take my order after I waited in like for over an hour because their cashier has poor management skills and they are too cheap to have two separate cashiers. One for drive thru and one for in person orders like any respectable establishment would. They cater only to in person orders especially during a pandemic where social distancing is recommended. I'm sick of the attitudes of the employees there. The food is definitely subpar. The food tastes like they recycle the grease they fry in and the seasoning sits on top of the food and isn't cooked in. Just nasty and pure laziness. read more

The Food : What a disappointment today - I have eaten here before & had decent fried tilapia fish & garlic crabs, I would like to try them again & hope, if it was a fluke today , but would go back to trying only the fried tilapia filets or garlic crabs. Ordered # 2 combo / Grouper w/ shrimp - one to eat in , one to go - First thing I notice the fries have changed , from medium size meaty fry to a smaller weird fake yellow looking stiff no real potato meat thing ? The fish in both boxes made a separate times per request was, way over fried, w/ too much batter that was hard & stuck to the fish or flaking off in burnt hard pieces . The meaty texture of the fish was oily & not white , but off color of brown!! No Fresh lemons, & Hot Sauce, Ketchup , Tarter Sauce- prepackaged, very low grade Restaurant Depot Institutionalized brands. Tried to eat one & threw away other in trash totally inedible. Well I read a bunch of good reviews and I was in the mood for some good ass seafood but I was kinda let down. The food was mediocre, but it's worth the reasonable price I guess (if you're standards aren't super crazy.) But be warned that you might get food poisoning. I went at night and got some food, downed some over-seasoned fried clam, and woke up at midnight barfing my guts out. I definitely wouldn't recommend and the only reason I gave it two stars is because the service was friendly and the food wasn't the worst thing I've ever tasted.
