This is my local Panera and I come here nearly every day because I have the sip club. I have approximately saved $1 million because I love iced coffee and their teas. If you are interested in saving a ridiculous amount, it's about 15 bucks a month and you get to get all the regular drinks nothing fancy pants but coffee, tea soft drinks. I honestly am pretty simple and it makes it so easy to run through the drive-through wherever I am in Hampton Roads there's one if I'm driving from spot to spot. This location has excellent respectful employees and has always been clean whenever I have dined in for any reason. My kids honestly used to really look forward to coming here to just grab a cookie and have a hot chocolate. It's the little things in life. read more

I've been to this Panera numerous times, but kept forgetting to uodate my review. The food is always fresh and the staff is kind. I rarely have to wait as my order is ready. They have the kiosk where you can order or use the app (that's my fave). They have several tables and booth. It's a pretty good size restaurant too. The ambiance is very good. Nice and clean chairs and tables. The service was good. But the exception was due to poor communication/instructions. I saw the screen to place my order. It took awhile, but I got through it. Then I stood around in the lobby for someone to bring me my order. I noticed a gentleman entering restaurant and heading to the rear of the store to pick up his order. I decided to follow and found out my eat-in meal was ready by my name being called. The staff behind the counter came to assist me (handicapped) to seating area of my choices. It was very nice of him since I needed help. My soup and sandwich was fresh and quite tasty. Smh. I'm starting to see there's a trend going on with the Panera chains... I came here for a quick breakfast before I hopped on the road to head back to the Northern Virginia area. Came in to see only one person up front to take orders. Thankfully I was able to use the self checkout. I ordered a bacon and cheese on a brioche bun and added extra bacon, my wife ordered a sausage and cheese on brioche. We waited about 10min for our food and there was only one other order ahead of ours. All I could hear was the employees conversation sounding confused even though the orders were on their screen. And its not like it was a complicated order, just remove the egg from both sandwiches. We get our food and check it and of course they messed up the order. They gave me a regular order of bacon and placed the rest of the bacon on my wife's sandwich. So she ended up with a bacon sausage and cheese sandwich while I got two strips and cheese. I was just too annoyed to even get out of the car and have them fix the order. On the way out I grab my cup for my drink and another woman was just waiting up front to order her food, with nobody up front. I ordered online and received a notification 15 minutes later indicating my meal was ready. I went there; however, the meal was not ready, I waited another 10-12 minutes for the meal and was on my way. I arrived home, opened the sandwich and was disappointed on how it was just thrown together. I had the Greek salad which was pretty good, the Chicken noodle soup was way too salty. I took a photo of the soup but it didn't look like much, so I didn't upload it. The Chocolate chip cookie was alright. All-in-all this Panera is not the one. I have visited this Panera twice and they haven't hit the mark. I will continue to visit Panera, but not this particular one; even if I have to drive further out, this one is off the list. read more

I appreciate the fresh, fast options Panera offers. I've always enjoyed their chai tea lattes but it seems to only come in one size. I tried a lentil and quinoa bowl today with no added protein. I was a little baffled that the cashier had to "see if one was available." So does this mean that food isn't freshly made? Service was quick and we were out the door. Downtown Suffolk area is hopping these days with new additions. I was excited to have another dining option in town. This location has very good service--friendly and the line is rarely very long. But I am becoming a bit disheartened with Panera, their okay food, and high prices. Recently I had the butternut squash ravioli. While tasty, there were about a total of 5 ravioli in the bowl--I kid you not. And it came with a roll. This cost about $8. I do enjoy the mediterranean veggie sandwich when I'm looking for a lighter meal. And we recently stopped in for some cupcakes. Again--very expensive but they were quite yummy. read more

Third time visiting on a Sunday before noon and they had no bagels. Aren't they known as a bagel shop? At any rate, I ordered the new Green Goddess Caprese Melt. It was horrible! 3 little discs of mozzarella, some paper thin-tomatoes and a bunch a gloopy green gunk. It was a soggy, tasteless mess. My mom had the Pepperoni Mozzarella Melt, and it too was basically an empty baguette. For $10, you can keep it! I usually choose this Panera Bread location for lunch. They have great options and the wait time is not too bad. The service attitude is hit or miss. Sometimes they're super friendly, sometimes not. But not too bad to where I am upset about it. The food is really good and tastes fresh. I usually get the same thing because I'm addicted. Turkey and avocado BLT (no bacon) with the tomato soup and green tea. Perfect lunch in my book! If you go through the drive through make sure you let them know if you're a Panera rewards member. This is my regular spot for lunch when I'm working in Suffolk. Sometimes I'll even bring my laptop and stay a while. There is a small town vibe in this location. There are some older folks who are regulars and get to know the employees. It's sweet to hear them chat and exchange pleasantries. That's something that's been dying off in our culture. My absolute favorite thing PB offers now is their "order from your table" feature in the PB app. I go in, grab a seat, take my time looking over the menu, easily customize it, and submit. I go grab a cup and fill up my drink and within 8 minutes my meal is delivered to me. Customer service is always on point. They offer to bring you anything you need at the moment they deliver your food but they don't keep coming back to check to see if you still don't need anything. I like that. I love Chick-fil-a but I've been to a few locations where I'm constantly being asked if I'm still alright and to make sure I still don't need anything. It's not a full service dining place so I don't expect anyone to run me napkins or sugar. There is plenty of room inside the restaurant. It's usually pretty clean and well stocked. The bathroom is small but always tidy. There is a drive thru at this location also. If you sign up for rewards they do pay off. Not a great experience. One overworked person on the cash register. Water only lukewarm for tea. I waited for hot water the whole time I was there... 20 minutes. None came. Soup also lukewarm. But here is my point. This is not the fault of the workers. Panera needs to pay more to get the staff that is needed. Otherwise it will soon get the reputation of lesser chains. I actually worked at this location years ago when it first opened. It's remained impeccable. They not only have the drive thru option, but also the faster kiosk lines. It sends the receipt straight to you email. The staff are always friendly and quick. I like that they bring the items to your table. It's always been really clean in here. Their parking lot is pretty decent compared to the one next to them which is a little tight. They have a lot of space where people can meet up. They also have a nice fireplace in the middle area. They have an outside seating area that's really nice during the Spring and Summer seasons. I had the chicken soup since it was a rainy day and it was perfection as usual. I haven't had any problems with my orders over the year. I love Panera Bread as a company and what they stand for. This location represents them well. read more

Lovely. Absolutely lovely. First, it's a Panera without a million people inside taking up all the wifi. Second, they had the computer screen ordering service. Instead of stuttering at the counter deciding what I want even after staring at the menu for five minutes while waiting in line I can do so while talking to myself. I ordered the Asian grilled chicken salad (obviously). Not only was the salad huge, it came with what was almost the size as an entire loaf of bread (okay, exaggerating), and a cookie. A (bleeping) cookie! Damn you, Panera! That cookie was so good. I wasn't complaining... I was in heaven. My salad was delicious. I want to give them a 3.5 . The first reason is some of their workers. Not all I know a few excellect people that deserve more pats on the back. I can personally go in and point out the ones who are rude or not doing their job because its a place I eat often when I am in town. The food prepared is the same. My mother and her friend visited and they received the worse service. She complained and still havent received a response a month later. That spells bad communication and simply they do not care. Again it all depends on who is there whether your food will taste or be prepared correctly. I am not a fan of that at all. Again its not Panera at all, its the location. I also found out that this location has a "seasonal " ice coffee thing, which is horrible. Some people drink ice coffee all year round and putting ice in cold coffee is not ideal. Then I found out that its just location because the location at home has it. Overall again being the only one for some miles, they should step up their game. read more

This is the best Panera I've ever been to. The staff is lightning fast, courteous, friendly, and truly concerned about the quality of your meal. Two out of the three times I've been here, my baguette piece (the one that comes with the Pick Two combo) has still been warm and fresh from the oven. At every other Panera I've been to, the baguettes are always fresh, but stone cold. It's a nice bonus touch here. Maybe it's just great coincidental timing, but it's still awesome. The staff always remembers to ask me if I have a My Panera card, which is great because I usually forget to present it otherwise! The manager regularly works the cash register, checks on customers, and even wipes down tables. His focus is obviously customer-centric, and his superb staff follows his excellent example. If you're looking for a quick and wholesome lunch, this place is your best bet. It's even faster than waiting in the McDonald's drive-thru down the street, too! They always have my order ready before I'm even finished pouring my soda/coffee/tea. read more

Worst Panera I have eaten at. I frequent Panera's all over the country during my weekly travels. So I know that it is only my local Panera that has a poor selection of bagels early in the morning. No fresh brewed coffee at 9am on a Saturday. Every Time I've been here I complete the survey that is emailed to me later that day and nothing ever changes. Management does not care and it shows by the attitude of all the employees. We were very excited to see Panera coming to our town but what a let down. I was in recently to get a bread bowl. They had a special going for half a sandwich and a bead bowl with any of there soups. I chose the broccoli and potato (or maybe it was just broccoli and cheese). It was amazing!! I would give the food alone 10 stars if I could. The cashier was nice and very helpful.
