Nachos to go

Ordered Ultimate Nachos to go and the packaging allowed for everything to stay perfect! The chili is delicious - as is the queso- and the sliced avocado is a fresh touch! Separate containers kept the chips crunchy! Service was outstanding - great location!

Pretty decent size place, food was good except my son's pizza was still frozen...we thought he didn't like it...so he didn't eat it...and then we get in the car and he said it was frozen still. Food is kinda pricey for what it is, because it was still good..and the service was great.

I absolutely loved McAlister's Deli when I lived in North Carolina. It was always great food and service. I visited the new Hampton location on a Friday for lunch. I ordered online and picked up in person. The establishment was very clean. I headed to the counter to tell them my name for my order and they gave it to me. I ordered a turkey club croissant with a side garden salad. This came with a pickle and I ordered the sweet tea. Everything was delicious. On Monday, I wanted the same sandwich again, so I re-ordered the same meal. This time... The bacon was horrible!! All the bacon was burnt and in pieces. This is why they have three stars versus five stars. This will not deter me from going back. However, I will double check my sandwiches before leaving moving forward.

Such a great addition to the Peninsula Town Center food scene. I went here the other night for dinner, and was not disappointed. The service was spot on. The staff took the time to answer questions about the menu, and provide feedback. The Spicy Turkey Melt was really great. It was a good mix of savory and heat. The avocado and spring mix were a great complement to the sandwich. They even offer gluten-free bread, which is great as so many people have gluten allergies intolerance these days. I also liked the broccoli cheese soup. I think next time I'll try the chicken tortilla soup. I do wish the pickles were half pickles or larger and not spears - it was dillious :-D They have a good amount of tables for seating, and cool sayings on the wall. They offer cookies and something called a brookie (I'm thinking a brownie cookie). I have to go back and try their famous tea, perhaps with some lemonade - Arnold Palmer on deck!

Baked potato and Mac & cheese

First time ever to eat at a McAlister's deli and it was alright. None of the food was overly impressive and I'm not running back for seconds. We sampled the following: Chicken tortillas soup-it was different from your average chicken tortilla soup, a little thicker. It kind of grew on me as I ate it. Can't decide if I would order it again or not. Club sandwich-I'm used to clubs being overstuffed with the filling and this was not. It tasted delicious, but could have more filling. Baked potato with cheese and sour cream-.good Mac-cheese-good standard Chocolate chip cookie-very good! Would stop into get one of these if I was in the area! Sweet tea-very good as well! Would also stop in just for this! Service was very good and friendly.

Best sweet tea in the 757. Peach flavoring makes it just so much more better. Definitely recommend the food options as well! Was so excited my city finally got a McAlister's Deli my go to spot whenever I want to eat out!

I ordered the Roasted turkey, avocado, spinach, tomato, Swiss with olive oil & balsamic vinaigrette on 9-Grain bread; it Included a side and pickle spear. The sandwich was smaller than expected considering the price ($9.49) . The sandwich was tasty but poorly put together. The ingredients were pretty much haphazardly thrown together on the sandwich One of the ingredients of the sandwich was avocado. The employee that made the sandwich, did not care to make the sandwich properly, considering the very small piece of avocado on the sandwich. I did mention the discrepancy to the person that took the order. I was then given another small piece of avocado in a cup, that was slightly bigger than the piece that was on the sandwich. The menu also stated that the sandwich came with a side dish. I assumed that it was included with the sandwich but it wasn't;I was charged 3.99 for it. I am willing to give McAlister's Deli another try. The sandwich was good and the business is clean.

Savannah Chopped Salad with Pecan Vinaigrette

I decided to try out recently opened McAlister's Deli in PTC. This location does carry Gluten free Bread for their sandwiches, but if you're trying to Door Dash/Grub hub you won't be able to request it at this time (my experience). They carry sandwiches, Spuds, Soups, salads, and even Nachos : Savannah Chopped Salad Seasoned grilled chicken, dried cranberries, Gorgonzola, honey roasted almonds, tomato, and cucumber on mixed greens . I ordered mine w Raspberry Pecan Vinaigrette This salad was loaded. My only complaint was there was too much Gorgonzola for me personally, which was overpowering the salad.

Jalapeño Turkey Crunch with Cucumber and Tomato Salad

I've been to McAlister's Deli before, the food has been phenomenal. I've tried the French Dip, the Club Sandwich the Savannah Chopped Salad and the Spud Max, all really tasty, all great choices! My favorite though is the Jalapeño Turkey Crunch which was my order today and it was as good and satisfying as I'd hoped. The jalapeño is baked into the bread, it's not too spicy and it adds a certain flavor that I just love. The crunch comes from potato chips in the sandwich...yep you read that right.... sounds weird but really compliments the texture somehow along with the turkey, avocado, bacon and pepperJack... the combo really works, if you like these things individually you're going to LOVE this selection! Truly, if I were just grading the sandwich I would give the place a solid 5 stars but unfortunately some of the other factors fell short. The Cucumber Tomato Salad side just wasn't that good. It was loaded with red onions and the marinade was tasteless. I didn't finish it. On top of that, the music was far too loud... 60's R and B, which I love but intermixed with some old school gagster rap which I could have dealt with were it not for the volume. It's no wonder most of the customers were sitting outside.... or it may have been because the inside tables needed a good wipe down and the floor a good sweep... my visit was 2:00pm on a Friday, not sure if that factored in or not. Having said all that, I'll be back because I do love a good Sandwich, Salad or Potato. I may even eat it there because food is so much better warm and fresh. Hopefully I just stopped by on a rough day, not sure, but because they're in a location with so much competition, that is there are so many dining choices in that area that they really need to pay attention to the basics to keep folks coming back.

George's Restaurant is on Mercury Boulevard in Hampton, right across from Food Lion and Popeye's,…read morenear North King Street--right beside where the old McDonald's used to be. I actually met one of the owners while shopping at Games Farmers Market in Newport News. She spoke so passionately about her restaurant being a soul food spot that I knew I had to try it. I went within the week, and they don't open until after 3 p.m. (I believe they stay open until 1 or 2 in the morning). They even have extra parking across the street, which is nice. I went in by myself, and they told me I could sit wherever I wanted. Since I was one of the first people in there that day, the bartender/waitress greeted me with so much kindness. She went over some of the specials, and I ended up ordering the Rasta Pasta along with a drink--a Pineapple Upside Down (tea or lemonade, I can't quite remember). Whatever it was, it was delicioso. That drink was a 10/10--I'd go back just for that! When the pasta came out, it was served with garlic toast, and I also ordered some macaroni and cheese. The pasta was flavorful, and honestly, I've been thinking about going back for it again. The mac and cheese wasn't my favorite, but to be fair, I prefer baked, homemade macaroni & cheese--so that's just me, but it was good. While I was there, I chatted with several of the owners and the cook, and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. I even learned one of the owners is a veteran. The restaurant has a sports bar vibe, with TVs everywhere, music playing, and a DJ--it's lively, clean, and has a great atmosphere. I really love the vibe, the people, and how comfortable they made me feel. I'll definitely be back. If you're looking for good food, good people, and a good atmosphere, I'd say give George's a try--you might end up loving it like I did.

The owner and the chef came out to see how everything was Food--The food was great and the presentation was great as well. Although the vibe is bar like but the food served is top tier because my Rasta Pasta was top tier!! We had absolutely no complaints. We will come back on Karaoke Wednesday night!!
