How our table was and this is just after we tried to get everything out the way

Won't be returning, my girlfriend is a server so she always tips 30% if not more & being we were out celebrating her promotion she brought an extra 75 JUST for tipping, yet the experience we had left her upset and not wanting to even leave a tip. We were OVERLY rushed the entire time just for the service not to be good, none of our plates or cups or salad was cleared off the table literally leaving us no space to get the "endless salad & soup" we got the manager to tell her about our experience because we understand sometimes it's not always the servers fault which was correct after the manger said they rush their servers to get people in & out as if their fast food. We brought a bottle of wine so you would think that would let them know we're gonna be a little longer than 15-20 mins to eat. Overall bad experience & service.

The service was not great. Our server was for lack of a better term "dry ". The food was good although my steak in the pasta did not have that good crust on it, which makes me think the summer pasta is meet our pre-sliced and probably cooked in the house which isn't a huge issue given it is a chain restaurant and something like that is expected but just a little bit more time and care into the food would've been nice

I came at 3pm and it was a quiet casual vibe which I really appreciated as I was by myself and needed to get work done. I was able to be seated at a booth near an outlet upon request. Abel was a fabulous waiter. He was patient saw to my needs and made sure I knew about the soups and salads that came with my lunch entree. Upon Abel's recommendation I ordered the lunch portion of the Lasagna Classico. My food was out quickly (~10 minutes). I enjoyed my lasagna and the chicken soup. The only thing that left a little to be desired were my breadsticks. I wish they had been a little fresher. Considering my meal only came out to $13 I feel like I got excellent value (considering the lunch item came with soup + a refill).

This olive garden has a little bit of everything . We came in kinda late because I had just gotten off of work. We were seated promptly and provided service by Diamond. We started talking food and she immediately brought over the drinks , salad, and bread sticks . After a few minutes the manager walked over and noticed my daughters tshirt ( she was wearing smashing pumpkins) he got real with is telling us how much he loved the band and called over another waitress(Mandi) who was a singer in a band . The food was fantastic but the family atmosphere really brought it home for us. Excellent food , excellent service . We will come back at a more reasonable hour next time. We hope to see Mandi in her band really soon !

I had a to-go order so I can't speak on what the restaurant offers on the inside. I had a taste for some soup, and Olive Garden's chicken & gnocchi didn't let me down. I got the soup and salad special. I'm so glad they only give you 2 breadsticks though they were delicious. The salad comes with the dressing, croutons, and dinner mint on the top of the container. The staff who brought my food out was very pleasant, and made sure she brought the correct order to me.

So some of our friends could not decide on where to get dinner, but we all could agree with on Olive Garden. Our server Cody was very knowledgeable and provided excellent service. I ended up getting a local draft and soup

Food was delicious! Excellent service as always . I came in here for a self-care lunch, and they did not disappoint. The staff were very attentive.

I have not been to an Olive Garden in probably three years. I have steered away with mainly service and cleanliness issues. However, this review will focus on improvements with service at a location I had yet to try. The experience was expedited by friends who waited in advance. They were seated upon arriving and a hostess showed us to the table. On the walk through everything was clean and neat in appearance. Our young female waitress was strong from the beginning and got drink and food orders immediately since we were in a hurry. We set a timetable to get our food out with having an obligation. She confirmed they could do it. Drinks, salad, soup and bread hit the table within 5-6 minutes which was excellent! The salad was fresh, crisp and yummy! A refill of salad and bread was brought out soon after with out party of five devouring both. The bread was undercooked, not buttery and not nearly as tasty as I would have liked. With the timetable and being with friends no complaint was made. Edible, not up to par from what I remembered. My son reported his chicken and dumpling soup was great All the food hit the table at the same time which excellent! Friends reported the food was hot and appearance good. My son's cheese ravioli did not look good with dried up pasta. He said it tasted fine, but ate less than half which is unusual. My lasagna Frittata appetizer which has been a staple I order looked good on appearance but lacked the flavor although the texture was correct. Our waitress did provide refills and checked in. Our party decided to use the kiosk to checkout. We were able to split the bill and the system worked great and even printed a receipt. In personally do not like the machines, but it was useful. I hit up the men's room which is in the rear of the restaurant. They may have two sets of them considering its location. The facility had proper supplies and everything functioned as it should. Unfortunately the trash was overflowing and there was debris all around the container. It appeared to me to have not been checked in a while. I probably would not return to this location. In the past the a Newport News has been stronger. I want to make it clear that it was the sub par food, not the above average service that deducted a full star.

The highlight of the meal was definitely the Italian sub. I added sweet peppers, and that was absolutely the right move. It was fresh, flavorful, and packed with quality meats and toppings. If I come back, it will be for the sub alone--and maybe to give one of their pizzas a try. The chicken marsala, however, was a letdown. The chicken cutlet was thicker than I prefer and ended up being a little tough. More importantly, the marsala sauce lacked the rich, hearty flavor that makes this dish so comforting. It wasn't bad, but it just didn't have the depth or savory mushroom-forward flavor I was expecting. Overall, it didn't quite hit the mark for me. The Greek salad was fresh and a nice addition to the meal, but it wasn't enough to make up for the disappointment of the entrée. Since this was a takeout order, I can't really comment much on the overall service. The young lady who handed me my food wasn't particularly friendly, but she wasn't rude either--just kind of neutral. The interaction was quick and uneventful. Overall, Mamma Rosa's wasn't a bad experience, but it also wasn't one that left me eager to return. The Italian sub was excellent and is the only thing that would bring me back, along with maybe trying a pizza. As for the pasta dishes, I don't think I'd order those again

Well, it took a while, but they did not disappoint. We arrived there at 5 PM on the dot. My first question was, where is everybody? They explained that they just opened for dinner. We started with calamari that was so light and tender, was so wonderfully seasoned, that had the most wonderful dipping sauce-I could've had another order of it. They presented with the most fresh and tasty bread that was covered with cheese. Oh my gosh, my mouth is watering just thinking about it and then we ordered it and I wish I had taken pictures, but I did not two of their signature dishes. Mine included shrimp and scallops, and my sister's had seafood and sausage. They made the most delightful dinner salad and the freshest and lightest dressing you could ever taste. It was such clean food you tasted every single ingredient. The weight staff was polite and available -the ambience was absolutely beautiful. Before we left the place was full and I can understand why. The owner is delightful and I have to go back. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys good Italian food. We even had leftovers for lunch in the next day. They did not disappoint!

I'm not big into Italian food so maybe that's why. But just this Friday, a friend in a social group celebrated her birthday. So I decided to join in and finally check out this spot. Let's see how the night went, shall we? Our party had a reserved table up front by the check-in booth and the bar. Inside the decor is a bit dated, but everything was clean and tidy. Overall, it's not that big of a restaurant, but it can fit a decent crowd. After enjoying some salad and garlic bread, we were all ready to order. My meal was Pollo Marsala. Overall, the dish was good. I preferred slightly bigger chicken breasts, but what I had was good enough. The protein was cooked nicely and there was enough spaghetti to mix with the chicken and mushrooms. I also had some grated parmesean cheese which added some flavor to the dish. What a wonderful night for all of us. Table service, hospitality and good food. You couldn't have asked for anything more. Yours truly will be back soon :)

This restaurant is located on a little cute strip, filled with vintage looking shops. It's cozy on the outside and in the inside. The ambiance at night is giving romantic date night. It's a pretty tight space but it gives an intimate feel. I personally love that. I went here because one of my friends said that it is his favorite restaurant. He explained how their menu frequently changes and is chef-curated. He really hyped it up. And the experience I had here with friends really lived up to the hype!! Immediately waking up, the hostess greeted us with upbeat and high energy and she quickly seated us as well. The hostess also ended up being our waitress. She was very well-informed and knew the food and drinks like the back of her hand. I'm always impressed when waitstaff know what they're talking about because I've been in their shoes before. So I know the work it takes to get like that. We started with a house appetizer. I don't remember what it was exactly but it was all beautifully topped on a slice of naan. It really started off the night on a great note. Our appetizers were the charred octopus, beef gyoza, and the fried oysters. Our drinks were excellent craft cocktails that I don't remember the names of. But each one was gorgeous and delicious! Next up, we had the grilled asiago bread, bison meatloaf, pan seared duck breast, and the seared jumbo sea scallops. Goodness. Not a single disappointment in any of these dishes that I listed. Maybe one disappointment is that I couldn't have unlimited charred octopus and duck breast... LOL. I often get lost in thinking about the charred octopus here. It was crispy on the outside with the perfect amount of char, but yet it was soft and tender in the inside. I got my duck cooked at medium rare. The duck breast melted in my mouth. I didn't want the experience to end. Overall, this place is absolutely worth the hype and is all the rage. I'm 1000000% coming back here when I'm back in town again.

The food, as it should be is the star of the show. I ordered the Duck, which was the best duck I've had at a restaurant in a very long time. Some places can over cook it in an attempt to get that crispy skin, but here it was cooked to perfection. The skin was crispy, meat flavorful and juicy, and not overly greasy. The sweet potato puree was excellent and elevated the meal. The drinks menu was really good. Our friends are Wine Connessiuers and we're impressed with the selection. Not a Connessiuer myself, though I do enjoy a nice red every now and then, our selection was really good. Circa 1918 is a bit of a trip for us, but I'm sure we will be back and I'd recommend this place to anyone in the Newport News area.

Inside is very small and is essentially the kitchen. They were remodeling so the dining room section was closed off. Unfortunately, it was very warm in the area we sat in. Waitstaff: Absolutely wonderful! Our server made our drinks and was knowledgeable in all of the cocktails we asked for which was a breath of fresh air because many places we have gone are not familiar with The Last Word or a Boulevardier (seems odd to me). Food: They started off with some bread and salted butter. We thought it was a little too salty for our tastes, but good none the less. We tried the watermelon salad and clams. Both were really, really good and would highly recommend both. We finished with a fig tart that was excellent! Overall: For the evening, I would rate this a 4.5 restaurant. Kind of funky with the seating, not thrilled with the temperature, but the food and drinks made it worth it. I would definitely recommend.
