For the most part, Sound Check Bingo has been our go-to where we and a few friends would participate. Beer, food and bingo.....a true win-win. Before coming out last night, I placed a reservation for a table given Fridays would turn out a crowd. Turns out it was the best call since a lot of them were occupied with a big crowd. We ended up with high chairs which wasn't a problem at all. As far as beer goes, I ordered a Light Speed lager which went well with my pizza selection. And Sound Check Bingo was pretty fun with the crowd being engaged. They even had one dude who rapped to Ice Ice Baby. Priceless!! None of us won any rounds, but being out like this was truly worth it. Just like many, many visits, this one did not disappoint. We'll definitely be back soon. Till next time :)

I was here most recently for their music bingo night. They have plenty of seating in two different areas that are connected. Whether it's with friends or just the two of us, we've never been disappointed. Let's see how this visit went. We were immediately seated once we walked inside. It wasn't completely packed for a Saturday afternoon but staff was really busy with customers. The vibe was one that made us comfortable for the most part. After a few minutes of looking over the menu, we were ready to order. My selection was the Tavern Monte Cristo which consisted of chargrilled chicken and ham as the protein with Gouda cheese and cider aioli fried in a tempura batter with tavern fries. The meal was served hot and ready and tasted great. And having the cranberry coulis as a dipping sauce really added some taste. My only gripe with the sandwich was the amount of protein. I'm not sure if I ate most of it when we dined in, but when I ate the rest for dinner, it was more breading than anything else. Still good but they could've included more. Nonetheless, I was full. Good stuff as always from Park Lane Tavern :)

It's just a horrible experience as is. They need to go to Precarious and see how they do it. Their food is generally good to great. They have a $5 before 5 app and drink special menu that is a really good deal. Nice spot for adults to have some drinks. Just be patient as service is generally slow. Now onto my recent experience.... I suggested it to some friends who wanted to grab some beers on MLK day which was a Monday. There were 4 of us guys and 7 kids. It's a lot. I get it. They weren't overly busy. Maybe a quarter full. I tried to keep the kids away from other tables by giving them boundaries. They were not happy with us. They didn't like the kids being outside in their patio (freezing, no one out there) etc. The one server was getting destroyed. She had just like 6 tables, but a 16 top. I felt badly for her. Our drinks correspondingly took about 20-30 minutes each time we tried to order. She was nice when she could get to us. At one point a person who said they were a manager, I think she said her name was Hannah, came over and said the kids couldn't be going around (again, I had boundaries not by any other patrons etc. from what I could see they were honoring them, but who knows), anyway she asked if we could keep them by us, which is fine. I then asked her if I could put in a beer and app order as I had been waiting for our server with an empty beer for at least 20 minutes. Instead of taking the order and ringing it in, she said she'd send the server over and disappeared never to be seen again. 5 minutes Iater the server was able to get free from her big table and get our beer orders and food in. Several items were forgot, but at this point we were kind of over it. Just not really your typical relaxed brewery vibe. Felt like they wanted it to be more of a sit down restaurant. That big long story to say it's not a spot for kids. Overall food and drinks are solid. Beer is solidly middle of the pack for Peninsula. Management needs some work.

We were greeted immediately as we entered. You have to wait to be seated but there was no wait. Our server was so nice and friendly. She took our drinks order and answered all our questions. This place should be on all locals list to check out. The vibe is very chill. We have stopped by when it's been busy and they've had live music and also when it's been on the quiet side like today. Every time the service has been superb and the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. I only wish they were a little closer to home since they are located in Hampton but don't let that stop you. It's not a bad ride.

okay, I really want to leave this place a 1 star review so people don't come and I can keep it all…read moreto myself, but that wouldn't be fair. This place is a hidden gem! Bird Girl is situated in the super cute, cozy area of Hilton Village. If you're not familiar with the area, it is comprised of businesses in retrofitted homes from the early 1900s. The shop and pizza kitchen are located inside the first floor of the home, and there are a few high top tables inside. Most of the seating is outdoors in the "front yard" with picnic tables and high top bench seating. The yard is fenced, making it a wonderful option for families with children. We went on a very busy Friday evening and had to wait about 40 minutes for a table to free up for our group of 12 (6 adults, 6 kids). It was no problem waiting because we just got a few drinks (the wine slushies are so good!) and let the kids play and color. The vibe was really like a back yard hang out, and the clientele is very relaxed and friendly. This isn't pretentious brew pub. Their wine room is lined with bottles to purchase and enjoy there or take home. There are two large coolers with many different craft beers, and they do have a few craft options on draft. For the non-alcohol crowd they have a great selection of NA beers and wines, and sodas as well. They even have juice boxes for the kids! Their selection is great for trying new things and finding your next favorite. Feeling adventurous? Try a brown paper wrapped "mystery beer". Their pizzas. Ya'll. I told a few different folks about our plans to try Bird Girl. The response was the same every time. "Their pizza is amazing". They weren't kidding. They offer 3-4 rotating options, but also offer the option to build your own. The flavor was great, the ingredients were fresh, and the pizza was just the right thickness to perfectly fold. I'm not a crust person, but we left nothing on our plates. We did wait about an hour for our pizzas, but that isn't a slight against them. It's more of a general warning for anyone who comes bere for the first time. They were really busy, it was a Friday night, and they only have 4 ovens. Honestly, I was impressed with how friendly and social the kitchen was (it's an open concept) while they were still working like crazy. Again, just good people all around. Because it is a counter service restaurant we never had to wait for drinks, and the wait didn't seem too bad. Its a great place to come to enjoy good company. So long as you come with that attitude you will have a good time. 5/5 yall!

I agree--it does look like a hole in the wall from the outside. The inside wasn't as nice as I expected, but it was reasonable. We had the crab dip and cheesy rice balls as appetizers. The crab dip was a bit too smooth for my taste. I think some places make it with a cream-based product and blend it, so you don't get many chunks of crab. I prefer chunky pieces of crab in my dip. That said, it wasn't bad. I usually eat a little and then stop halfway through because it's just not my preference, but this one was okay. The rice balls were good. We also had the blackened tuna, which was actually pretty good. It was a dish we were able to split between the two of us, and we both enjoyed it. I didn't like getting my drink in a plastic cup--that set me back a bit. All in all, it was a decent experience.
