Update to my last review, ! My husband and I stumbled upon this place a couple of years ago, and we were so excited to return on our trip to the area. What a disappointment. Piece of advice... If you're a b%#% don't be a bartender. People come to breweries to have a good time. The female bartender today, November 15, 2025 was unbelievably rude to both my husband and I. The male bartender was not very friendly, but the female was absolutely the rudest bartender I've ever seen. We have never ever not left a gratuity, but today was that day. Absolutely ruined the entire experience. Pro tip for the owners: get new wait staff, we would've stayed and purchased not only beverages, but swag as well. Not a bad place. The beer was filling. Outdoor seating was nice. Staff were somewhat disengaged but the beer was good.

What an awesome brewery!!! We stopped in on a Wednesday afternoon (Veteran's Day specifically, and they were offering 20% off for all military) and had to try a flight. For $19.50 you can sample 8 beers (Or $10 for 4). There were so many to choose from! We did everything from the Witbier to a Stout and the hard lemonade and root beer they carry. There is truly something for everyone. They currently have a fair amount of outdoor seating, and it was super easy to social distance on a weekday with their setup. I'm a stout, porter and DIPA kind of girl. But I just can't resist their larry's lemonade!!! Ordered a flight and then a pint of their hard lemonade! It's so refreshingly delicious!!! The black pearl was the food truck that was their when we were there! Their tacos were soOoO flavorful. They have a FB but are currently working on their IG account. They have both indoor and outdoor sitting areas. The outdoor are has heated lamps available for those chilly nights. Plenty of space to socially distance inside as well. They have local artisans items such as Jewel, glass ornaments etc. You can buy peanuts, honey and CBD sparkling water as well! Of course they have clothing and beanies/hats available as well. What a find in the Hampton's area. Great beer that the brew master takes very seriously. This brewery tries to make beer that's authentic; true to the old ways of brewing. Thus the name and medieval themes for their beers. Small sitting area with the bar that's connected to the brewery, with 2 canopies on outside for a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy their great selection. Every beer I tasted was good to great. Their flagship beer Honey Lager does have a small hint of honey taste, but no honey is used in the process. The English IPA, which I was told is brewed using the same technique as the Olde World sailors for the original IPA. The Slumbering Dragon Scotch ale has a smoky scotch flavor that I've never had before. Unique & refreshing. There's a food truck serving different types of fare, but I wasn't able to sample. The beer was too good! I brought home their very popular Larry's Lemonade for my nephew & he said it was delicious. If you're a beer lover, this is a must-stop in Virginia. read more

This is a hidden gem brewery near Poquoson. A group from work came here one Friday afternoon and we were the only ones there. With it being a weekday there wasn't much going on but they did have a food truck on site which was nice. There was a lot of outdoor seating under a tent which is nice and I bet its a really great place to hang out with friends. The selection of beer was pretty good and they also had hard lemonade. I opted to order their IPA which was flavorful but still refreshing. Everyone else also seemed happy with their beer and the atmosphere overall. Fantastic find on our way home from Richmond late afternoon last Saturday. Warmly greeted as we walked in the door, owners son made recommendations and offered samples. Loved the Octoberfest which they offer year round. It was great!, my husband got the one with honey in it, forgot the name of it, enjoyed it also! We weren't too hungry so just Ordered pretzel bites from their own food truck, they were so good, served with homemade pimiento cheese. The burgers and quesadillas that others ordered looked and smelled great! It is a new favorite brewery of ours and will definitely return. read more

Stopped in for the first time in over 20 years, and was pleased to see how nice it is. They have a great beer selection, and the staff is really knowledgeable. They have a cozy interior area, extensive outdoor seating, and a warehouse area for seating as well. The people were really friendly-has a local pub feel-but the regulars are welcoming. Dog friendly inside and out is always a great thing. Hope to go back soon and tour the grounds. Food truck was not open, but their menu looks great - maybe next time. read more

Great brewery tucked away in a quiet area. Don't judge this place by first glance because it appears to be another small brewery but it has much more to offer. They have 15 selections on tap and they all vary.... EVERYONE can find something to try. The inside taste room was busy so I couldn't get a good picture. They had a giant tent outside with seating and several picnic tables in the area to enjoy the great food provided by the food trucks. Cool little hidden brewery surrounded by office buildings. You would never know this was back here. The tap room is small but they have cool gifts and a large TV to watch. They also have tons of board games to play at any table. The staff is friendly and extremely knowledgeable about their beer. I have been here multiple times, food is always terrible quality. The portions are too small, especially when they are charging 5 times what it's worth. Went to an event they had (I had to prepay, and it was a set menu). They didn't have enough food for everyone and they were serving fruit bowls and pork skewers. This is constantly the worst spot the eat around here. To top it all off i saw the guy with the braids and purple hair smoking and drinking beer in the food trailer. Beer is served in a plastic cup, which is a personal turn-off so I wouldn't recommend this place based on that major faux pas. Just maybe a good place to meet up in the neighborhood. I've been meaning to take a trip to St George for a while, I've been in the area for about a year and a half now and have had their beer at my favorite gastropub a few times. Always a solid product. I went today with my wife for the tasting tour and had a very good time. The tour was very informative and we had a sampling of five or six of the beers on tap. The tourguide who is also the son of the owner, gave us a brief history of each type of beer we sampled and answered any questions we had. We ended up purchasing a case of the winter seasonal Stout and a six-pack of the new spring lager. St George is very involved in the community and produces specific beer for several local buisnesses. They also participate in events like the Ghent Charity Pub Crawl. If you have a chance stop by and visit the hospitality room, sample a few brews and meet the folks who make the best beer in our area. read more

We went last Saturday down to St. George in Hampton. My man and I split the flight. It was 7 beers plus your choice of the hard lemonade or root beer for $20. I really enjoyed how the flight included the new fall brews and they said that they constantly change their flight. Really good brew and free popcorn go munch on. Fact: This is the 2nd largest brewery in VA. The first is attached to an amusement park. Fact: Thanksgiving was celebrated in March in Jamestown. Fact: Cinnamon and nutmeg are added to beer to mask the taste of bad beer. Fact: Drinking in America is really bad. This is why companies need to have your beer can change color, so you drink it ice cold and hence not ever tasting how terrible the beer actually is. Fact: Foster's is not really an Australian beer nor is Yellowtail an Australian made wine. Fact: William will tell you he is a professional drinker, its his job. Fact: St. George was a dragon slayer. These are some of the things you will hear from William if you end up visiting the brewery. To be honest, it was a bit annoying, entertaining, and made our stay a bit longer than we wanted but you get free samples that for the amount of time we stayed, combined, you probably end up drinking about a pint. He gave us seconds when another group came in. the facts could easily be disputed, who knows. The beer here is really good. I was impressed with every single thing they made. The pilsner is excellent and carry a nice bold taste unlike other pilsners. The Oktoberfest is excellent. You can find 16 tap lines at Busch Gardens. Impressive, isn't it? Thier Bock ale will not give you a hangover. I am usually not a fan of Bock anything but this was pretty good. Winter Scotch Stout-awesome. IPA-excellent. Overall, this place makes an outstanding brew. So, come visit and learn a thing or two! read more

Thank you, Yelp, for pointing the way to this ohsohappy brewery! In town on a drizzly day and looking for indoors and interesting, the Fella and I yelped our way to this beer-and-free-fun-stuff lovers' locale. Holy hospitality! They offer a free 4 pm weekday tour which these tipsy tourists happily took them up on. We sampled six (maaaybe seven?) different brews whilst learning the history of the brewery, the dragon, and our tour guide. A fill-up of our choosing and we were off on a tour! The tour was, admittedly, short, BUT packed with info and interesting sights and our guide generously tolerated my Laverne and Shirley cracks AND then put forth a seemingly legit offer to come back in the morning to help them bottle. These guys were GREAT and the beer was delish and my only true regret is not living a smidge more southernly so that I might enjoy their handiwork on a more regular basis. (Oh, Hop Pocket and English IPA, I'm shedding a small boozy tear over yoooou!) If you are within an hour's drive of this brewery, heed this advice: Clear your schedule for 4 pm and enjoy your free happy hour with the fine peeps at St George's. Also, BUY BEER. I don't love giving out 5 stars, but this place really is about as good as it gets for local beer in the southeast of Virginia. We stopped by to have a quick taste and tour of the place, and were a little confused at first. The entrance is a little weird, as the tasting room is back in the actual brewery (follow the signs). There were half a dozen or so beers on tap which the bartender (who is also co-brewmaster) led us through in a very amusing fashion. It was clear he enjoyed talking to people about beer, and gave us a great tour of the place. We also ran into the other brewmaster (his father and the owner of the place), who poured us some beer fresh off a fermenter. After the tour we were told that there were a number of specials on cases of beer, and we were able to pick up an entire case (24 twelve oz bottles) of some of their beer for $9.95. The short story is that if you're in the area you should check this place out. If you live anywhere near this place you should make frequent trips to check on current beer specials and things like that. And make sure to ask for their beer in your local bars. read more

I decided to tour the local breweries today and I have to say this one blew the competition out of the water. It's off the beaten path, but worth the drive. The owner served me and was unbelievably friendly. He even took my fiance and I on a small tour of the place. All the beers were great, not too hoppy, great malty flavor. This is my favorite craft brewery! Great selection of beers, a polite and efficient staff and prices are reasonable. It's tucked away off of Wythe Creek Road between the Langley area and Poquoson. They stayed open during the most restricted times of COVID and even added a large outdoor heated seating area. For the past few months they've offered half priced growler refills on Monday. They have nifty events scheduled during the month and have a food truck - NOSH parked on the property. Haven't had a bad beer there yet in the years I've been going there. Try it! This was the third stop on a beer tour I went on with LocalSuds (http://www.localsuds.com/localsuds/). What I liked most about this place was that they put out pitchers of all the beer for us to try. At each table they had set up were two pitchers of beer and we were able to sample at our leisure. My favorite was the Imperial Bock. It's a dark, strong beer with a great finish. Great beer and great establishment. Came here on a Friday when they had a food truck and live music going. Very casual environment to drink some beer and listen to some tunes from local artists. It is set up in a warehouse-style building where they make most of their beer. There is a tap room and plenty of picnic table style seating in the building. They open up their garage door to the outdoors where there is more seating and where some people like to tailgate instead of sitting inside. Tried their Nut Brown Ale and Summer Ale, both has a great earthy undertone and rich flavor. I'm definitely a fan. Also. You need to try Larry's Lemonade.
