I went on a whim for lunch, showed up early enough before a real crowd could come. But seems like with the opening they were still trying to get ready and I had to wait a bit longer than I wanted too. The lady in front of me had called ahead and she messed up her order then wanted changes made when she came in which really set my time back even more. So they had to have one of the chefs come help up front. I was so annoyed and just decided on a quick slice and they really didn't have any options on dessert. So timing went down the tubes but the slice was a decent size ... I am not sure from this 1st experience if I want to try them again or not. read more

The pizza was very good, I'd rate it a 4 out of 5 for sure. I just felt like 2 peices of pizza with some toppings shouldn't have cost $10. I asked for one slice of pepperoni, another with vegetables. What I didn't realize is that I would get UP charged for every single vegetable on my vegetable pizza. So with a base price of for a slice of cheese pizza just $2.66 x 2 = $5.32. I was very surprised to get charged almost $10. $9.75 to be exact. Now to their credit, the veggie pizza had so many toppings on it I had to use a fork and knife to eat it. It was pretty damn tasty. Lastly, the staff was fairly nice, just wish they had been upfront about the cost for a single slice of veggie pizza. I will be back, just this time I'll be very cognizant of how I'm charged. read more

This is a no pretense kind of place located in a large shopping center which is bring refreshed with new stores. It reminds me of places in NY and NJ and PA that I went to growing up, which is good since Andreas has all the positive traits of those places. I cannot think of a time I was not satisfied with the food or service. Subs are very good along with their pizza including the Stromboli. And the price is fair for what you get. Rude and dismissive staff to my party of approx 15. Our travel basketball team went to this establishment for a meal between games as we had traveled from out of town. Upon arrival and being sat the wait staff on more than one occasion addressed the group of children in a rude manner to lower their voices in a restaurant that had very few patrons. The children were not yelling or being belligerent, just a hand full of kids talking and laughing as they waited for their meals. The food was below mediocre and we will not patronize this establish again during our travels. Traveling basketball teams who have games at Boo Williams and surrounding area choose another place for your team to dine as your players are not welcome. I was craving a sub yesterday and thought of this place and hadn't been before so gave it a try and So glad we did! I got the smaller Italian sub and my friend got two cheese slices. The sub was perfect, not over stuffed and was so good. The slices were huge and my friend who grew up on Brooklyn pizza said it was the best he's had. Brought the second one home. Mixed reviews about my experience there today... I had a business meeting with a trusted associate who suggested this place because of their strombolis. For $6.95 you get a very large stromboli that can feed two. We decided to split one given their size. One problem though. About halfway through my food I noticed a hair strand in my meal. Up until that point I was thoroughly enjoying what I was eating. Immediately, I made the staff aware of the hair. For many this grosses them out. Yes, I was grossed out but for some reason I was very forgiving of what I saw. Crazy, I know. A gentlemen who appeared to be the owner/manager came by very apologetic and offered us the meal for free while replacing my half stromboli with an entire new stromboli. I'm not one to raise hell and kindly took the new stromboli, ate half of it (very delicious), saved the other half for tomorrow and we proceeded to pay for our meal. A big boo boo I must say but the issue was handled as best as I can see, professionally and appropriately. Places make errors but their handling of the situation made me feel at ease. As for the restaurant itself, it has one very old feel to it. I thought I was walking back into the 80s or some sort of lodge where old men play cards and drink beers. Nothing wrong with the look. I think it adds to the history of the place. Again, mixed emotions given the health issue but it was handled quite well and that bumped this review up a star. read more

After my experiences with some great pizza shops like Fellini's and Nancy's in Atlanta, coming back to VA left a bit of a hole. Normally in Hampton Roads if a mom & pop place has good food, the service is terrible and vice versa. I prefer patronizing small businesses instead of chains, so on my birthday I decided to give Andrea's a try. My aunt used to get pizza from here when I was a youngster (early 90s) and my whole family had forgotten this place existed! Well, we ordered an XL 2 topping, fries and cheese sticks (both as appetizers) and we all fell back in love. Cheap, good and fast. My only complaints would be (like some others have mentioned) the condiment containers that need replacing and a better drink selection. The two stand up coolers with scattered bottles of soda/juice/beer isn't appealing. A watering hole like this one could make some great money with just a little bit of an update (newer TVs, new dishes and serving utensils, online presence, etc.). I'll have to grab a stromboli next time and find out if you're allowed to BYOB... My meal was SCREAMING for a nice IPA to wash down the excellent italian! read more

A great authentic pizza shop! My wife and I love to have lunch at Andrea's. Chris, the new owner, is doing a great job with this establishment. It always smells so good when you walk in the front door. You are greeted by friendly staff and can actually see the kitchen from the front. We usually get a pizza or subs. The pizza taste great, we like the super combo. They put plenty of cheese and toppings on the pizza. They also make delicious baked subs. We like the Italian sub. Again they put plenty of meat and toppings on their subs. I would definitely recommend this pizza shop for lunch or dinner. They are quick and reasonably priced. read more

Andrea's Pizza Shop in Hampton, VA is a cool, quaint restaurant offering great pizzas and Italian food at fairly good prices. The place itself is warm and welcoming. I know it sounds cliché, but the staff really do treat their patrons like family, especially the regulars. It's a family-friendly place with a feeling of being in someone's personal dining room. The place is kept very clean, and the kitchen is open. This heats the place up a bit much in the summer, but I've always liked open kitchens. The food is fantastic. The pizzas are all generous in size and toppings. They certainly do not skimp on pepperonis or cheese, and they have the typical line-up of topping offerings. It comes out piping hot and a bit greasy, but in a good way. It's very filling and you'll definitely be bringing some back in a box. Their other items on the menu are certainly worth checking out as well. The strombolis are also excellent and in giant proportions. I have to say that the subs are probably my favorite item on the menu though, especially the hot ones. The meatball sub is delicious. The Italian sub with melted provolone on top though is definitely what I recommend. read more

No junk food loving person can deny the greatness that is Andrea's. They serve massive strombollis and competitive pizza. They DARE you to eat an entire strombolli. I am proud to have two friends that have reached this monolithic achievement. It's aided by ideal marinara sauce, which I always ask for more, and when you take out, they'll give you a cup full! The price/portion ratio is unbelievable. If you don't feel like being cheap, their pizza is surprisingly good! Get sausage instead of pepperoni, or anchovies if you're into that.
