I stopped in for lunch a couple of days ago. Basically all I want was a salad and a slice of pizza with two toppings. They had a special where you could get a house salad, and a slice of pizza with three toppings. I ordered pepperoni, mushroom, mushroom and the salad so she understood that I wanted just extra mushrooms. I did not want a third topping. When it came, I was pretty hungry. It was hot. It was fresh and I started eating the pizza and the pepperoni tasted just a little strange to me and then I looked at it and it was flat and kind of brownish. I chalked it up too. Maybe they use a different brand of pepperoni after I got halfway into it, it hit me, that's not pepperoni it is sausage. The place wasn't crowded, but I just could not seem to get her attention. I saw her the waitress, giving attention to other patrons, but I was feeling a bit left out. Honestly, the pizza did not taste bad, it tasted pretty good, I never ordered sausage, but if someone else does, I will eat it. I did not feel like any drama so I finished my pizza my salad, she didn't even come back to ask me if I wanted more to drink when she brought me my check, it was a lunch special, it did not cost much at all. I was pretty much satisfied in terms of my hunger, and the taste wasn't bad, but I felt the need to say something, so I left a note on the napkin it stated that I did not order sausage pizza, basically she didn't come back to check on me, and if I ever come back again, I would try the pepperoni and mushroom. I didn't leave a tip. It was a change that came with my change. I've been eating here since 2018. During that time, I had always been happy with the food and the service, unfortunately a week ago that changed. I placed my order at the counter, as I usually do. I ordered an item that I regularly order so I knew EXACTLY how much money I gave the clerk. She saw fit to keep my 10.00 in change and tried to argue with me about how much I gave her. On the way in the restaurant, I stopped to get 20.00 bucks out of the atm so I KNEW EXACTLY how much I gave her. A shady straight up grifter working the register, and she's still there skimming money off the till even after I called back and asked the manager to review the camera. As an Italian, i had certain expectations from this place, I ordered the stuffed shells for delivery and was please to have received a generous serving of 6 shells. Well seasoned ricotta cheese, delicious chunky marinara and to top it off the most generous serving of mozzarella I have seen! It was almost overwhelming. Very filling dinner, the side salad was great to end the meal and cut the grease. I also had the tiramisu for dessert and was very satisfied, up to my expectations. Today we ordered online and received our order uncharacteristically fast. No complaint there... but once we opened it up we realized why. The pizzas were like warm and the wings were ok, I say ok because the wings were a little over looked but still good. They have a delivery radius of 5 miles and we were at 5.8 so they didnt deliver to us. Was trying to find a place close to where my appointment was and since I had been here once for pizza I decided to go here for pasta. Service: very friendly and prompt Food: Side salad; tasty and large Bread; burned, dry, stale Spaghetti and Meatballs; 1. huge portion 2. processed, frozen meatballs 3. spaghetti was baked and swimming in water 4. sauce was too sweet To boot when I pulled into the parking lot of about 75 spots, maybe 15 being filled, I picked an end spot so that I could pull my car close to the curb to avoid dinks. And literally one second later a woman, out of nowhere, zooms right next to me so close that it made it very difficult for me to continue to finish parking. I honked several times but she totally ignored me, (mind you, I had parked far away, and there were like 60 EMPTY spaces much closer!). As she gets out of her car, I roll down my window and say, "really? there are literally dozens of other spots in the lot that are empty but you had to park right on top of me and make it very difficult for me to finish parking". UPDATE: I used to love Sal's, but have taken my business elsewhere. The first incident that happened that was my 2liter being left off my delivery order so I had to call. They offered to come back with it(taking 30mins) Or mention it to get it with my next order (I opted for the latter). The 2nd incident- they gave me peanut butter cheesecake when I ordered turtle cheesecake with my delivery order. The options for a correction were the same and in my opinion all forgivable. The last incident was the horrible customer service I received over the phone while attempting to place an order(Jordan). Not sure if he was having a bad day or just simply didn't want to be at work. Twice I've been spoken to rudely over the phone and is why I refuse to spend my money here any longer. The quality of the food unchanged but the quality of service unacceptable! Not only are we both Portuguese and Italian, we're from Rhode Island and our Italian food is out of this world..he was beyond impressed. He actually has ordered from them several times since. Update - My daughter and I are visiting my husband and I didn't feel like cooking so we ordered Sal's! We ordered chicken parm and a single slice of cheese pizza. The chicken parm was huge. I was a little worried about placing an order here with so many recent negative reviews. I ordered a side salad & ham & pineapple calzone for under $15. When I called for delivery, they said 30-40 minutes and they arrived in about 25. My salad was fresh and the shredded cheese wasn't gooey. The flavor of the calzone was delicious. It was diced ham instead of sliced luncheon meat so it had good flavor. Nice proportion of cheese go topping. It wasn't soggy and the beat part was the seasoning & grated parmesan on top. I made a pizza order vegetarian thin crust pizza I added garlic and basil on the pizza I also ordered wings also with sauce on the side . The 14 inch pizza and wings came to 31 dollars when the pizza came the vegetables were Raw and the crust was wet from to many vegetables it was so under cooked I couldn't eat them I call them and spoke to the manager he told me he would send out a new one he told me he would Sauté the vegetables and he would make the pizza himself when I got the second pizza it was full of oil from the vegetables being sautéed I have never herd of sautéing vegetables for pizza I will never order anything from them again my first and my last time.
