One word (well, not really a word, but actually a syllable/noise) sums this place up: ehh... It's super close to my office, but I feel like every time I go to Panera, I tell myself that I shouldn't do that again for a long time. I keep forgetting to hold myself to that promise, but this time I really do mean it. The sandwiches and panini are okay, but always taste way saltier than they should and never have enough greens. I also don't understand why anyone would want the choice of a roll as a side when they order a sandwich? The soup seems to be a safe bet, though. But...I went back today. For the free wifi. From my small sampling of their fare I am pleased but not jubilant. Bagel, sourdough bread and french onion soup, in case anyone is curious. I have been here a few times with a group (no I didn't have the sourdough and bagel in one sitting). As for the bread products all the way tasty. Good texture, taste and appearance. Thinking about getting a loaf of something for taking home next time. The soup was good, just what I had expected so that's nice. As mentioned there is room for fair sized groups or meetings. Though, noise is an issue, so no meetings that require being able to hear what;s said. There is parking out back, always fairly full during the day but you can always find a space or two. With high parking turnover because it is practically next to a pharmacy so people pickup and are gone for the most part. Very handicap accessible with the back entrance being a nice wide ramp. Reading other peoples' reviews I laugh because the cashiers really are incompetent. There MUST be a bipolar and/or severely depressed box on the application. Because in general I don't think the cashiers would notice the end of the world happening let alone wether you replied for here or to go. There's always the nothing-left-to-live-for teen who seems to try and make you feel guilty for taking pleasure in carbs and life. So for baked goods 4 or 5 stars but overall not anything to go out of your way for. read more

Yeah, if you've ever been to PB you know the deal. Pretty decent grub. The food is fine, the atmosphere here and the service is abysmal. Take a look at the reviews for this place on here and you'll notice a common theme: wifi. Seems the majority of the people here go there simply for the free wifi. The bulk of the others are actors or career extras gathered around their macbooks working on their scripts or running their lines, taking up every seat in the place for hours on end. That makes it real difficult for us average folk who just want to sit down and have a bite to eat. Throw in the most thoughtless staff in the world and you got yourself a winning combination. Mind you, they only seem to be thoughtless in regard to getting your order straight and preparing the food in any sort of edible way. They're especially mindful, however, of all those movie people in the place. Birds of a feather and all that. Look, I got nothing against schmoozing on the job but dude, when I order a plain bagel toasted with a side of plain cream cheese it shouldn't take four tries to get that order, then forget it once and wind up as an onion bagel when it eventually finds its way to me standing in the corner because I can't find a place to sit. To anyone from out of town who wants to see someone they can say "Hey, that was that guy in that movie!" come here. For anyone who lives here who actually wants to eat, go elsewhere. Panera, I used to love you so much, but you have changed. I accepted the changing menu and I am a Panera card holder - which the rewards are sometimes fun to use. I had come here a couple of times in the past couple of months and left very unsatisfied. Though the staff seems friendly, the place is filthy. And the plates were dirty as well. The food is overpriced for it's no mediocrity - the only redeeming factor, as always, are your soups. I ordered a salad and was so underwhelmed that I thought to myself, "I wish I would have made this myself at home, it would taste better." This location will not be on my radar any longer and I will definitely be taking a time out from the franchise as a whole in hopes it will resolve itself. Calling Corporate for this visit, UNACCEPTABLE!!! I love Panera but this was the worst experience EVER! I met a friend for coffee....we got pastries and simple self serve coffee... The coffee was empty as per the grounds in my cup. After waiting for new pot with many other unhappy people one staff member said she'd bring our coffee. 10 minutes later we got our own and I rinsed out my cup in the soda machine. When we asked the girl later she claimed she looked for us but didn't see us-- Creamers and regular sugars empty. After several requests and no restocking I began to pull out the refill bins from under the cabinet (I used to work at SBUX so I knew where to look). After stacking them on counter in frustration, still no regular sugar to be found a girl came over and asked what I wanted--with attitude--I told her I was 20 minutes in to my self service coffee and not at all happy. She got the sugar with no apologies. Same girl kept bumping into my friend while bringing out food to other customers--no apologies even when we called her on it......ended up moving chairs from behind us so she could get thru. We still enjoyed our coffee and chat until a horrible garbage like smell whafted thru the place........Everyone cleared out..............Maybe then the staff could get it together and clean and restock the place.......maybe even study up on customer service! I've been meeting with my writers' group at this Panera location for two and a half years and it has always been a super pleasant experience. Every single person who works there is just a total sweetie pie. They are always super friendly and happy to serve. Fernando, the manager, brings our group out cookies and pastries at the end of the night! What a nice guy! They also recently did a remodel which makes the place so much more cozy and warm. Sometimes I dream about the mac and cheese, and the peanut butter cookies. Definitely delicious. read more

For a brief time, I would go to Panera regularly. The sandwiches are damn good, but: They introduced a fantastic sandwich (I can't remember it anymore), which they serve for a month and then they got rid of it. Grrr. They always ran out of whatever bread my particular sandwich is supposed to go on. A place with BREAD in their name should not run out of their bread. I also used to get delicious egg souffles (available in the mornings), except guess what! They would run out all the time! Not a happy experience when you wake up early and drive 5+ miles just to get one. After a while, I just stopped going. I need a little more consistency from my slightly overpriced chain sandwich places. read more

I've stopped in a few times and have always received friendly service, and a quality product. I don't know what it is about this place that just isn't quite comfortable. Maybe I'm expecting more of a restaurant feel but I like the food and service. The beverage station is a definite advantage in the time department. Sometimes it's easier (and faster) to run in here for coffee and a decent snack before work than it is Starbucks. I dig it but not my favorite place...for no good reason. Lol read more

It's a chain. Stop rating them so poorly! The parking situation SUCKS. Good luck finding a spot in the lot behind. Just park on the street if you can slide in quick enough. Because of the free WiFi- these tend to attract college students or people on laptops in general. They hog the space well past their welcome, which is rather annoying. As common curtesy, I wish they would stay a max of 2 hours and then leave. Especially if you aren't even eating anything! So other than that, it's just like other Panera Breads. 10:45 am - I order an egg and cheese BUT they don't serve breakfast after 10:30. I won't eat a salad or a soup at 10:45 am so refusing to sell a classic morning sandwich to a customer won't help you sell other items on the menu. So I ordered a 4 cheese soufflé : " sorry no more soufflés ". Panera Studio City has the privilege to say No, No, No to customers as early as 10:45 am. Good for them. I cannot say that I have dined here very often, really nothing more that coffee and muffins. I do however, run in to buy bread for the house. I have also been know to pop in for bread bowls. YES, the bread bowl. Take them home, fill them up with some homemade soups/chowders and serve them up to the fam bam with a fresh salad. Great idea right?!?! Yeah, I know! Soggy Sandwiches and Awful Customer Service. about two weeks ago, I went on their app to order our lunch. The panera app stated this studio city location delivered so we happily ordered our lunch. When it got to us, I noticed the person who delivered was a postmates driver; The app never stated a third party was involved but okay no big deal, we use postmates all the time. When we sat down to eat, we noticed one of the meals was missing half of the you pick 2 and two of the 3 sandwiches were super soggy and the bread was basically falling apart. I called the store to let them know half of my meal was missing and asked if it would be possible to either have it delivered or to just get a refund for the half i didn't received. the person on the phone said he couldn't do anything about it because they don't have delivery people and he can't refund it because a manager has to do it and it can only be done in person. This defeats the purpose of delivery; not only that but we paid extra for that service, why should we then have to spend time and gas to correct an error they made? After some back and fourth, he told me to call back the next day when the manager was in. When I called and spoke to their manager Ryan, I was put on hold for 5 minutes before I was hung up on. I called back and was then directed to a different manager, Jeff. I explained what happened and he essentially said he was too busy to look into my issue and would have to call me back. He took down my info and I haven't heard from him since. He truly seemed like he did not care about anything. I've had great experiences with other Panera locations and at the end of the day, it was just $4 loss on my end. It won't break the bank but their customer service is just awful. read more

This review is for the studio city branch. I would like to commend the manager, Luther. He went above and beyond in making us satisfied with their service. He made up for the amount of bagels that my sister received when she bought 2 dozens. She was only given 24 should have been 26. Luther apologized and gave us the difference even if the transaction happened on a different day. Good job,Luther. Panera Bread should hire more employees like Luther!!!! Consistently poor service every time. Rapid pick up is anything but. I'm now in the habit of showing up a full 30 minutes after I order (they are not full or crowded when I order) and it's still not ready. Or, the kiosk is broken and doesn't transmit orders to the back, or the cashier just gets it wrong, on and on. Food is generally good which I why I stupidly keep coming back but enough is enough. One time I can forgive, twice and it's an eye roll, but this poor service has been consistent for years. I don't know where they find their employees. McDonalds has much better service. read more

Panera on Ventura Blvd has become my favorite spot on my way to and back from the Council Thrift store! The place is spacious, cozy, smells terrific (with all the baking going on!).. and their Souffles are simply to die for! My all time fav is the Spinach-Bacon one! When all else fails, Panera is a reliable choice for fast-food-like convenience without the grease. I never stray away from my mediterranean veggie on tomato basil... it has a nice variety of fresh veggies plus feta cheese crumbles and pesto hummus. A half sandwich, along with a cup of the fat-free black bean soup and a bag of baked lays and I feel satisfied without being FULL. I still stand by my old faithfull Subway for a sandwich that can't be beat... but, when Im looking to change it up ~ Panera in Studio City is a nice change of pace... Anyway ~ it gives me an excuse to spend the afternoon shopping on Ventura Blvd, where parking is a breeze in comparison to my 'hood! read more

Panera Bread is pretty awesome. I went here for a study session with fellow classmates and was pleasantly surprised with what Panera Bread had to offer. First off there is parking in the back so you don't have to worry about parking on the street. However, the parking lot is shared between a few other businesses such as CVS and Chipotle and is restricted to 2 hours, but I am told that they are lenient with this. This location is actually fairly big in my opinion; they have both inside and outside seating. They have a coffee/tea bar which allows you unlimited access to refills as long as you buy a cup in the beginning which is a nice touch. I ordered their "you pick two" deal; it allows you to try 2 things on their menu, soup, salad or a sandwich in a 1/2 portion for $7.49. I got the Caesar Salad which was okay. They used fresh Parmesan cheese and croutons but the salad wasn't crisp at all. I also got the Sierra Turkey sandwich which came with turkey, lettuce, red onions, and a chipotle sauce on a Focaccia bread which was good but nothing amazing. The meal also came with your choice of chips or an apple. Overall This location is perfect for study sessions. It has snacks, drinks, wi-fi, multiple seats and tables. I am a fan of Panera Bread but I don't know if I would recommend it for much more. Tip It is a bit messy like others have said and they also don't restock as often as they should. read more

I have eaten at Panera's all over the USA while on business trips. I went to this one for the first time this evening. The service was terrible. The person who took our order (Gabby?) seemed mean and rude. I think she was new and still training. We were also given misinformation about the products, told that the pastas could not be made without the cheese on top. This was incorrect. Even ramen masters have to avoid carbs once in a while. So of course, a place with Bread in the name is the perfect place for that, right? ...Oddly enough, it is. Panera Bread has a "choose 2" combo that you can easily split between soup and salad (with an apple on the side) and viola, no (or low) carbs at a good price! And they have plenty of healthy choices to fit into your diet. More importantly, the food is pretty good! I've never left a crumb on my plate at Panera Bread. They change things up once in a while too so watch out for new items on their menu. It terms of service, it's mostly friendly, although I can't say they always get my order right. I love places that offer free internet. Thank you Panera. Your food is also scrumptious, but my confession is that I really came for the wifi. Don't worry though, I just had to do some quick checking of email or some quick sending of email and didn't hog up much space. I was waiting in line, no one acknowledged me & the moment a Caucasian walked in several minutes after me, the staff took his order as I was literally standing in front of the line. 2 stars because when I came during the weekday afternoon, they were out of all non-premium bagels!!! Which means, they only had about 3 to choose from.. and premium bagels are $1.40 vs 99 cents for non-premium. (Btw, the cinnamon toast crunch, I think is what its called, is so good! So cinnamon-y and crunch-y and delish). Parking is free for 2 hrs and shares a lot with a grocery store, bevmo, CVS, Baskin Robbins, Chipotle, and others.
