Kim H.

I had a frustrating experience at Zankou Chicken. After placing my order, I received a receipt with an order number sent to my phone. When I went to pick up my food, the staff member kept insisting that I needed to provide my name. I explained that I wasn't sure if I had given a name when ordering, but I showed her my receipt with the order number and asked if she could check using that. Instead of helping, she refused and kept repeating that I needed to know my name. What made it worse was how she spoke to me in front of other customers. It felt dismissive and embarrassing, especially since I was trying to cooperate and provide the information I had. This situation could have been resolved quickly by checking the order number. Unfortunately, the lack of basic customer service left a very negative impression. I won't come back.

Carne quemada y pita bread fría y en pedazos el cocinero estaba en todo menos en la comida y el sabor de la carne quemada la verdad muy decepcionado estoy Lo único bueno fue el servicio de la chica de enfrente

Props to this employee for turning my day around. Thank you SAUL

This review is for the amazing cashier, SAUL, who really turned my day around. Sometimes you just need that human experience and he was so kind and polite in a day filled with automated garbage businesses. I ordered falafel plate and as always it was amazing! Got me my garlic sauce fix and fresh food to feed the soul. But HUGE KUDOS TO SAUL!!

Chicken Tarna Wrap with a side of pickled turnips and extra tahini sauce
Joe S.

I've been a fan of Zankou for years and always pay them a visit when I am near one. Service at this location is pretty good, especially given that they are usually quite busy at lunch time. I grabbed my normal Chicken Tarna Wrap which comes packed with juicy seasoned chicken, chopped tomato and a huge slathering of their garlic sauce called toum. I always ask for a side of tahini sauce to add to the wrap and to dip my turnip pickles into. My only complaint, other than how much their prices have gone up in the last 5 years, is that the tomatoes are always underripe. While I could understand that in the winter, this is summertime...prime tomato season...there is no excuse for serving tasteless underripe tomatoes.

I even liked the tomato inside and I don't really like tomatoes lol. And the lavash bread on the outside was perfectly crispy and tasted so fresh as well. This is a quaint little spot, best for solo diners or very small groups. The man cooking and taking orders was very nice too. Definitely recommend!

Date of visit: February 19, 2025…read more Selections: Chicken Mediterranean Plate Experience: My dad found this place through the local papers of sort, so we decided to drop by for a late lunch. I was able to snag the only handicap spot in the small parking lot shared between Wrap Stop and the Shawarma place next door. One of the employees gave us a menu to look at as we got ourselves situated at the small table by the door. But the one who helped us made our selections was the restaurant owner, Greg, who suggested we couldn't go wrong with any the plate options for their meats. I went with the Mediterranean Chicken plate while my dad went with the Mediterranean Beef plate with both coming with our choice of drink that the owner had grabbed for us after making our plates. The sauce that was drizzled on top of the chicken was awesome, which turned out to be a Chipotle Garlic Aioli sauce and it paired well with the veggies that were on the side. Everything was seasoned well and the serving was definitely generous that I couldn't finish it. I was really grateful he served our food in to go containers cause it made it easier to pack up our leftovers. Before we left, Greg gave us a slice of homemade Marscapone Pistachio Cream Cake that he had made for us to try since he wasn't sure if he'll keep it on the menu. He informed us that everything they served was made in house and that they even have chocolate cake slices for sale that he made too. They have only been open for about a month, but it looks like they are doing a great job with their food and service. Can't wait to go back to try the wrap versions and French baguette versions for their meats.

The focus is on fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and healthy food that doesn't have to be boring. Their menu features everything from signature rotisserie chicken to nourishing bowls, hummus, and house-made sauces. Here are some of the items we ordered: *Hummus-Creamy, house-made hummus topped with a fresh Mediterranean mix of chickpeas, tomatoes, cucumber, olives, red onions, and a touch of feta, finished with a drizzle of olive oil and Spanish paprika. It was served with crispy pita chips seasoned with aromatic za'atar. *Quarter White Chicken (Breast + Wing)-Brined and marinated for 48 hours for deep flavor and perfectly juicy tenderness. This is a great option if you're looking for a simple, protein-packed meal. *Gaucho Bowl-Rotisserie chicken, hummus, chimichurri turmeric rice, shirazi salad, sautéed kale, roasted sweet potatoes, roasted corn, crunchy garbanzo beans, avocado, Aleppo pepper, and chimichurri dressing. This bowl had a little bit of everything, with a variety of flavors and textures in one dish. *Sweet Potato Fries One thing to know is that the portions are generous! Everything we ordered added up to a lot of food and the portions were definitely shareable. I ended up taking most of my food home, so you can easily make a meal out of these dishes and still have leftovers for later. There is street parking available, including in residential areas. Make sure to read the posted signs carefully before parking, as restrictions may vary depending on the spot. Overall, I'm glad we finally got to try it. It's a good option if you're looking for fresh, flavorful food with generous portions and a variety of choices.

Since randomly stumbling across this hole in the wall a couple months ago I have been back multiple times. My fav is the imported prosciutto sandwich, I can't get enough of it.!!!!! The people here are very kind and always take care of us well. The sandwiches are just so perfect exactly what u would think of when u imagine a classic Italian sandwich. Most of all I appreciate their authenticity among a sea of franchised sandwich shops.

I will say I usually stick with the soft rolls, as the "crusty" Italian rolls tend to taste stale, rather than crisp. However, reason for 4 stars instead of 5 -- they recently changed their online ordering menu, and IMO it's a disaster for ordering sandwiches. I've stopped ordering because there's no way to change or remove toppings on specialty sandwiches, no way to know what toppings are included on non-specialty sandwiches, and no way to add or select cheese (besides Swiss?). Seems odd for a deli to not have a clear layout for these options, and the previous version of their menu did a better job at this.

Little Nelly may elicit a Whoa Nelly after your first try…read more I just wrapped up a takeout lunch, snack, and beverage from Little Nelly and felt compelled to work off all the extra calories I just consumed by doing some rapid typing exercise on Yelp. The shop is completely non-descript from the street. The lettering is small and the windows are tinted and you feel like you're about to enter a drab office, but when you open the door, you're treated to a feast for the senses. The space spans a mix of cafe, boutique gift shop, and bodega. Everything feels curated and little discoveries await you for those who are culinary minded. For example, I discovered that they sell frozen burritos from Las Palmas and frozen pizzas from Mozza?! Someone clearly knows their way across the culinary food map of Los Angeles. If you can pry your eyes long enough from wandering the corners of the store, you can finally place your order of breakfast, lunch or coffee/tea. I just took my cold cuts sandwich on house-made ciabatta to the proverbial mattress. The bread had enough structure to handle the piles of quality deli meats, yet was less dense than some other ciabatta breads I've tried. But, it did an admirable job packing in the flavors from the spicy peppers, cheese, meats. Wow. I'm just gonna say that this cold cuts sandwich was one of my top 3 from LA. As I grazed the bakery display, a patron whispered that I should try the biscuit with jam and butter. The guy was wearing Cheetos socks so I immediately felt that his recommendation was trustworthy. I threw in my lot with the biscuit and oh boy, did it (and his recommendation) deliver. Humble looking on the outside, there's a nice salted, buttery crust to the exterior that opens up to an inviting platform to slather on creamy butter and jam. I fully understand why he felt the extra calories were worth it. I'd do it again. Of course, I couldn't order a biscuit without a drink, so I tried their summery limoncello cream iced matcha with oat milk - summers in Kyoto and Sicily combine for a refreshing and satisfyingly creamy bever-"aaage" that adds some pep to your step, even when the mercury pushes past 100. Enjoyed with the biscuit, I was darn near ready to call it a day as I had probably experienced my best moment of the day. Little Nelly is officially on my weekly rotation from here on out.
