Of all the eating places here at the Dining Terrace, my client chose Stone Oven. It is my first time so it took me awhile to decide. Good thing there was no line. I ordered the Vegetable Sandwich and it came with chips. It was okay but not as good as the other sandwiches. Just add $.30 cents or more and you can get the sandwiches with meat. The bread was soft though and the ingredients were fresh. You can tell by the crispness on the lettuce in every bite. Went there with my family to have a quick lunch on 9/7 and purchased 2 sandwiches with salads and drinks worth 37 bucks. After finishing paying come back to a counter just waiting for my order, meanwhile asking for some napkins. The young girl probably couldn't understand me, snd gave me just literally 2 pieces. I told her that i ordered the food here and if she can give me some more. Without explaining anything, she went to the back, and another man came to a front by the name Pedro. I assume she said something about me because all of them started to look at me as if i stole the food. When my food was prepared i asked another guy if he can give me some napkins,,, he literally added ONE piece and said THATS ENOUGH, NO MORE. Guys, i was shocked i couldn't believe its real. I said if i can BUY more napkins? He said they don't sell!!! Then Pedro, not sure if he is a DADDY of a crew, pitched in and rudely said WE ARE NOT GIVING ANY MORE. My wife got hungry while we were shopping at Westfield Sherman Oaks so we walked over to the food court area. The moment she saw that there a StoneOven here, she was sold on it because it's one of her favorite place. She got her spicy chicken sandwich with ceasar salad and a raspberry peach drink. The price is on the higher end but keep in mind that it's also inside the mall. It didn't take long for her food to be ready and she ate it in the food court. We walk the mall in and around the mall in the evening and sometimes grab a bit to eat if it's dinner time, generally to take home and not eat in the food court. Our son was coming over to the house so we got 3 meals, a garlic and chicken sandwich, a walnut & apple salad and a BBQ chicken sandwich with cheese on the side since once of us can't eat dairy. My wife loves the walnut & apple salad and has me order it every time I go there, and my son liked his chicken sandwich and I like the BBQ chicken. One orders at the register and the person helping can make any changes needed based upon the needs (like no cheese on the sandwich). In this case the person at the register was helpful and the food, which took about 10 minutes or so for all 3 dishes to arrive, was good. Honestly this place has gone down hill real fast I've been coming here ever since it opened and it has never been as awful as it was today. First off lets move past the fact that they have gotten incredibly cheap over the past few years. Everything is in to go packaging and portions have gotten less and less over the years. I paid $53 for 3 sandwiches that come with a side and drinks normally it wouldn't be an issue but today I bite into the sandwich and immediately get hit with a chicken bone. I was in the Westfield Sherman Oaks mall running errands when my hunger pangs started up. I was near the food court so I went in and found Stone Oven. I like this place because they have filling sandwich options. I have dietary restrictions so when they're able to, they accommodate them (which I greatly appreciate). I ordered the BBQ Chicken Sandwich (protein style) and a side Caesar Salad (they have really good Caesar dressing). The chicken is shredded and has BBQ sauce with beans and corn and melted cheese. When I received my meal, I noticed the portions were smaller which is why I deducted 1 star. You do receive one free fountain drink refill with your meal. The food was still satisfying. Goat cheese chicken salad is also very good and I'm not usually too crazy about goat cheese. Great service every time I go there. I recently discovered this place while I was at the mall so maybe they have new staff because I've noticed a lot of complaints about customer service. I was there earlier today for lunch and boy was I in for a surprise. This is one of our go to place when we really can't think of what to eat. We usually like to call in our order so it's ready by the time we get there. I always get the BBQ beef brisket. Which is pretty delicious the bbq into too overpowering and the avocado in the sandwich adds a nice creaminess to it. The bread is so soft and tasty. I get the pesto pasta salad with it. If I had one thing I'd change it be to mince the sun dried tomatoes in the pasta. Sometimes they can be a bit big for my liking. I usually get the spicy chicken sandwich which also has corn and bean salsa and avocados in it. It's a delicious sandwich that is pretty filling too. They offer several side salads, including garden salad and potato salad. I usually get the basil pasta salad. I think it always complements the spicy chicken sandwich. I would definitely recommend it. The combo meal is about $8 or so, something around that. I think it's a pretty reasonable price for the amount and variation of food you get.
