Of all the eating places here at the Dining Terrace, my client chose Stone Oven. It is my first time so it took me awhile to decide. Good thing there was no line. I ordered the Vegetable Sandwich and it came with chips. It was okay but not as good as the other sandwiches. Just add $.30 cents or more and you can get the sandwiches with meat. The bread was soft though and the ingredients were fresh. You can tell by the crispness on the lettuce in every bite. My wife got hungry while we were shopping at Westfield Sherman Oaks so we walked over to the food court area. The moment she saw that there a StoneOven here, she was sold on it because it's one of her favorite place. She got her spicy chicken sandwich with ceasar salad and a raspberry peach drink. The price is on the higher end but keep in mind that it's also inside the mall. It didn't take long for her food to be ready and she ate it in the food court. We walk the mall in and around the mall in the evening and sometimes grab a bit to eat if it's dinner time, generally to take home and not eat in the food court. Our son was coming over to the house so we got 3 meals, a garlic and chicken sandwich, a walnut & apple salad and a BBQ chicken sandwich with cheese on the side since once of us can't eat dairy. My wife loves the walnut & apple salad and has me order it every time I go there, and my son liked his chicken sandwich and I like the BBQ chicken. One orders at the register and the person helping can make any changes needed based upon the needs (like no cheese on the sandwich). In this case the person at the register was helpful and the food, which took about 10 minutes or so for all 3 dishes to arrive, was good. Honestly this place has gone down hill real fast I've been coming here ever since it opened and it has never been as awful as it was today. First off lets move past the fact that they have gotten incredibly cheap over the past few years. Everything is in to go packaging and portions have gotten less and less over the years. I paid $53 for 3 sandwiches that come with a side and drinks normally it wouldn't be an issue but today I bite into the sandwich and immediately get hit with a chicken bone. I came to the mall ready for dinner after a day at the park. I ended up substituting the chicken for tuna with the Asian Chicken Salad and it was a great decision! I was in the Westfield Sherman Oaks mall running errands when my hunger pangs started up. I was near the food court so I went in and found Stone Oven. I like this place because they have filling sandwich options. I have dietary restrictions so when they're able to, they accommodate them (which I greatly appreciate). I ordered the BBQ Chicken Sandwich (protein style) and a side Caesar Salad (they have really good Caesar dressing). The chicken is shredded and has BBQ sauce with beans and corn and melted cheese. When I received my meal, I noticed the portions were smaller which is why I deducted 1 star. You do receive one free fountain drink refill with your meal. The food was still satisfying. Great sandwiches and salad for a mall food court establishment. Like that the bread is freshly baked. Sandwiches are nice and warm, salads are fresh and delicious. Spicy chicken sandwich is really good. Most places skimp on avocado but they give a generous portion of it. Pasta salad is really good. Goat cheese chicken salad is also very good and I'm not usually too crazy about goat cheese. Great service every time I go there. I recently discovered this place while I was at the mall so maybe they have new staff because I've noticed a lot of complaints about customer service. I was there earlier today for lunch and boy was I in for a surprise. My fiancée and I both order the chicken sandwich with Caesar salad as our side and the cashier was rude for no absolute reason so we figured she was having a bad day and made nothing of it. Now as we are waiting for our order we are sitting at the table nearest to the restaurant and I notice the (I assume manager) Hispanic man with glasses wearing a black t shirt which is different from everyone else's was flirting very weird with the other employees who looked incredibly uncomfortable and as a another attempt to flirt he decided to stick his hands ( no gloves ) lower his mask and take a piece out of my fiancées salad. This is one of our go to place when we really can't think of what to eat. We usually like to call in our order so it's ready by the time we get there. I always get the BBQ beef brisket. Which is pretty delicious the bbq into too overpowering and the avocado in the sandwich adds a nice creaminess to it. The bread is so soft and tasty. I get the pesto pasta salad with it. If I had one thing I'd change it be to mince the sun dried tomatoes in the pasta. Sometimes they can be a bit big for my liking. I only ate here because my sister was treating us for dinner ... it didn't really appeal to me. So I got what I felt was fool proof for me & my 2 1/2yr old - a tuna sandwich with salad . My sister ordered her meal & an extra pasta salad . The food arrived here , still warm . Salad still crisp . It was a little pricier than what I go for but the portions were big so my baby ate 1/2 the sandwich all by herself - which meant it was good ! I ate the other . We shared the salad which was also good . The pasta salad was leftover for this morning which my daughter also completely demolished . I usually get the spicy chicken sandwich which also has corn and bean salsa and avocados in it. It's a delicious sandwich that is pretty filling too. They offer several side salads, including garden salad and potato salad. I usually get the basil pasta salad. I think it always complements the spicy chicken sandwich. I would definitely recommend it. The combo meal is about $8 or so, something around that. I think it's a pretty reasonable price for the amount and variation of food you get.
