I used to love Panera, but today I was reminded why I stopped going. The portions are extremely small and the price is ridiculous! I got a small Mac and cheese and the total was $8.26 mind you it was like a scoop full and it taste like air!

Here's my order receipt. NO chicken, Xtra, peppers xtra corn.

I ordered online for rapid pick up at Evergreen walk, South Windsor, CT. I ordered the. spicy fiesta chicken sandwich, but I remove the chicken and add on extra peppers and corn. It's not difficult, I don't think they even read the order because I got chicken with no extra anything. This is not the first time this has happened either. Let me show you what I got.

I dont frequent chain restaurants but sometime when you want a quick, easy on the pocket meal or if you are sick ....familiarity and consistency helps, which is exactly why I came here recently. First off, I love that they have so many vegetarian options... the value duets at $6.99 are excellent !! Can't go wrong with a Classic Grilled Cheese or chicken sandwich or salad with Creamy Tomato Soup. The choice are endless, I love the Mediterranean veggie sandwich with hummus on sundried tomato bread.. and a well toasted sesame bagel with butter are my fav! The service is good, never had a problem at this location, plenty seating. Parking is fairly easy as well.

Papaya Passion Green Tea

In Evergreen Walk there's not many options where to get a coffee or a cool drink. They've shut down the few tea and coffee places I liked going to. I decided to resource Panera. Panera isn't typically my first pick, but here we are. My friend and I got their Passion Papaya green tea. It comes from the self serve machine, there's also a few other options of tea available. We also got their Oatmeal Raisin cookie to share. We didn't get any food this time. I have't been particularly impressed with their sandwiches the previous times I've gone in. I think they're a bit weak with the ingredients they provide. I really enjoyed the Passion Papaya green tea I got. It was sweet and refreshing. I'd probably prefer it a tiny bit less sweet, but it was very good. The cookie was on the smaller side, very fresh, delicious and soft. I only came here as a last resort, and it worked out fine. There's plenty of seating inside or outside.

In general I like Panera food. This place is no exception. They introduced a self check out kiosk. I noticed it only after ordering it. May be next time I should use that. Teriyaki chicken bow was my favorite this time. I liked their spicy chicken sandwich as well.

This is the worst run Panera I've ever been to. Who knows - perhaps the poorest in all the land. So bad, I stopped coming here for many months but came back a couple weeks ago and had an uneventful visit so thought it was safe to come back. I live in South Windsor and it's closest but back to Manchester again for me, or maybe it's time to just nix Panera and their $6 soups all together. I ordered 2 soups online for rapid pick-up. When I came in my order wasn't ready because one of the soups I ordered was out. I get it, this can happen - but well run restaurants don't sell stuff they don't have. But it gets worse...I asked the girl if they'd normally remove something from the menu they don't have. She said yes but they haven't had the time. When I arrived at 6:55 there was 1 car at the drive in, and not a single customer ordering, or waiting for an order. The place was dead (I wonder why?!). I jokingly told her to tell the Manager "booo!". With that a guy walks by behind the counter - middle aged and wearing a button down shirt so I took a guess - "are you the Manager?"..,, he said YES. I told him they should update their online menu when they run out. He asked - "of what?". I replied it doesn't matter - anything....but tonight chicken n rice soup. He looked at me like I had 2 heads , didn't apologize or offer me an extra baguette or even a glass of water and walked away. No concern whatsoever for a customer or the slightest clue how to handle or why rapid orders should be rapid and menu up to date. If it's a franchise the guy should be fired. I wouldn't let him rake my leaves. If it's a corporate store - the District Manger should spend a day at this disaster. I'll say one thing positive - the South Windsor Panera is consistent. Consistently BAD. 2 thumbs down (it's all I have)!!!! Here's my receipt with the item circled they didn't have if anyone in the company cares, but not likely. It also has my name - no hiding from this review! I knew I should have gone to Jersey Mike's...

This morning after my hike I wanted something healthy, headed to Panera and asked the young lady at the drive thru ( her name is Anne) what she suggested For a light breakfast, she recommended a spinach, avocado and egg white sandwich. I also got a coffee, it tasted so fresh. Everything delicious, her manager was around and he came said hello, I believe his names is Paolo. Keep it up South Windsor Panera! Will be back soon for my new favorite breakfast sandwich.

I will NEVER come back to this Panera again. The customer service is horrible!!! I went through the drive thru to get a coffee and bagel- simple order. I waited about 5 minutes at the window for my order and drove away. I then sipped my coffee, and it was COLD. I turned around, and went back to the drive through advising that it was cold and I'd like another one. "Okay drive up". I waited for the coffee and tried to hand her the other one. "Can't take it. We don't take it back. It's a rule". I said "you have it to me cold... and I don't have a place to put it. (My cup holders were full). She said she can't take it (which I know is a Rule, but I also need both hands to drive as a rule). I said what am I supposed to do with this? She then reached and took the cup with attitude and said "have a good day" and closed the window. Please note that not one time did I hear an apology for cold coffee, for a second wait, for anything! This Panera is horrible and I intend to contact corporate about this experience and I won't be back.

I have lived in Manchester for a very long time, yet this is my first time visiting The Firestone…read more I don't know what took me so long to try this place. It's a painting, an arts and craft, a bakery, and a coffee shop. Great place for friends to get together and spend quality time, with great refreshment. They make their own bread, Cheddar scallion scones, chocolate chip cookies, sandwiches, and many other items. My favorites are the different coffees and teas. The staff is very pleasant and helpful, both with the food service and the arts. What a gem to have on Main Street.

Tried again, much better coffee…read more This place had a very awesome breakfast sandwich, and wanted to try them again. Opted for the blueberry pancake cold brew, along with a piece of banana bread and an egg sandwich with turkey. Food was delivered outside, and I took my pics. The breakfast sandwich is delightful. Everything is seasoned, punchy, and plentiful. The bread was grilled on a panini griddle, but didn't toast. So there wasn't a lot of contrast in textures. But the egg was fluffy, had a cheese skirt, garlic aoli is strong, and the bread is baked fresh. The cold brew was strong, but the cold foam on top mellowed the coffee out and gave it a nice blueberry and yeasty sip. Very similar to a blueberry pancake which the drink is named for. Good but leaned heavy on the cold foam. Banana bread was a bit gummy. Too much banana and not enough flour nor sugar. Not bad, but the weakest bite of them all. Price was high, at about 24 for the 3 items. The quality is worth the price point, and it's a great but somewhat limited breakfast spot for the area. If you want an avocado toast, breakfast sandwich with actual flavor, and wicked strong coffee, then this place does it well. Baked goods can be a bit random in quality, but the savory fare is great

They even have outdoor seating ( covered to allow shade) . The service is always great . Our server was very polite , attentive, asked about allergies , gave his suggestions , and constantly checked in on us to make sure we had everything . For started I got the firecracker shrimp , which had a sweet and tangy sauce which was delicious highly recommend ( I personally didn't think it was spicy but had great flavour ) For my entree I got the California chicken sandwich which was really good . Highly recommend and I got the side of truffle fries which had just the right amount of truffle ( since I personally don't like to much truffle ) Plenty of flavour . I also ordered the aperol spritz which was nice and light and refreshing . My friend ordered the filet which was cooked perfectly to what he wanted. Nice light seasoning with salt and pepper and juicy on the inside . Served with delicious mashed potatoes and green beans . The espresso martini he said was his second best he's ever tasted ! Which is a win . For dessert we. Tried the seven layer chocolate cake to go! Which heated up and with a scoop of ice cream was amazing very thick and rich in flavour which I loved. Overall good food , great service and great ambiance . I will def be back

He was well-versed in gluten free options, and I appreciated how hard he worked running dishes, assisting servers where he could, and still taking care of customers. Now for the food! Food was solid, but I was looking for more WOW. Now, the appetizers were WOW. Gluten free calamari and the Bang Bang Cauliflower were WOW. I could not have told that they were gluten free! Especially the calamari! The coating stuck to the calamari well and was not too greasy. The cauliflower was very good, and while I would have enjoyed a little less sauce, it was so much fun to eat such a crispy delicious bite of fried broccoli. I also had the octopus and roasted potatoes, and while the octopus was cooked well and was delicious, the roasted potatoes were almost rubbery. I wanted them hotter, roasted, browned and crispy a little bit, but they were plain. The dish came with a corn succotash as well, but I I was looking for a different flavor with this dish. I also got the gluten free lobster roll, and maybe it's the style I wasn't a big fan of (warm buttered), but I think there's an opportunity to butter the roll itself and toast it on a griddle to invoke that crispy buttered roll that screams lobster roll deliciousness. The fries were great. I live it when they aren't too thin, a little thicker, nicely salted, and that perfect crunchy crispy brown and caramelized with a soft center. Add some lovely service, and I would happily come back to Burton's and all of their gluten free options any day of the week. What a treat!

Ambience: they have a spacious contemporary dining room and a separate bar section complete with TV screens all over the place. Food: we ordered: Calamari - the portion size was average, but the squid pieces were small in size. 4/5 Pastrami Reuben - this was a bit too salty and oily. 2/5 Dry Age Burger - this was really good. The funkiness of the dry age flavor came through. The burger was moist and hit the spot. 5/5 Onion Rings - 4 jumbo fried rings of oniony goodness. 5/5 Service: super friendly and nice.

Server showed up quickly and took our drink orders. Menu is extensive and should provide plenty of options for everyone. (Pictures of menu included here) We ordered the 5 ounce burger with cheese and fries and the Texas hold em burger with bacon minus tomato and lettuce and fries and the French onion soup. There was a short wait till the soup came out. Nicely covered with melted cheese on top. The soup was good but didn't have the depth of beef flavor and spice texture that I was looking for. There plenty of onions, croutons, and cheese and overall it was okay. The burgers were well cooked and flavorful. They offered two sizes of their standard burgers, 5 or 8 ounces. The smaller size was just right for the person I was with. The cheese seemed to melt into the burger so it wasn't really visible. The hold em burger was large and had onion straws and three slices of very crispy bacon on top. There was a dollop of the bbq/house dressing and plenty of onions straws. The straws were nicely fried but not crispy by the time they reached the table but added a good dimension to the burger. It was good to leave the tomato and lettuce off as the height of the burger made it tough to bite into. The fries were disappointing. They had the right color for being fried and crispy but they were limp and soft. They are clearly are fresh cut from large potatoes but really need to be fried longer to get that crispy crunch you'd expect. Told the server that and was told to ask for the fries extra crispy. Overall not a bad first trip. We'll go back and try some other things on the menu and see what extra crispy fries are like.

Definitely a patty, and also did not have that charbroiled taste. Bun was substantial, and held the cb well. Fries were very good. For me, the price point was slightly high, more in line with what a pub might charge. Lots of choices on the menu, and some interesting breakfast options. I also liked the happy hour listings.
