Loved everything about this place! The decor is awesome and atmosphere is so lively. The servers were very friendly. Their menu options seem to be endless which made me a bit confused; I wanted to try a bit of everything, but I controlled myself to two things. I had the hummus with tomato, avocado on GF toast - delicious. It was the first time I ever had hummus with avocado & tomato and it's my new favorite. My husband had bacon, egg & cheese on a bun with home fries- his home fries were spicy, which were not spicy fans but he did like his BEC. When I'm back to pick up my son from school, I'll have to stop by again and try something else. They also had desserts showing inside the glass casing that looked divine. They had a chocolate flourless cake that was calling my name - I'll see you next time I'm on campus! DF/GF/vegan/vegetarians: they have it all

I have to start with the food for this one because the food was absolutely delicious. Dog Lane Cafe was quite busy when my entire volleyball team came in, but they got everything to us incredibly quick. Not to mention that this was about 21 coffees and meals, and everything was out in less than 20 minutes. I didn't get to take a picture of my breakfast sandwich because I devoured it haha, but my lavender latte is pictured. I think it was a special, but it should definitely be a more permanent fixture on the menu because it was so yummy. But in terms of food, I got one of their breakfast sandwiches, and was not disappointed at all! The entire vibe of the place was not at all what I was expecting when we were looking from the outside, but it's got such an eclectic, cozy vibe that made our entire team talk about it all morning. The decor was so fun and funky and the food + coffee made it a place we would definitely go back to!

Meh cinnamon roll - def not Cinnabon

A popular place for the breakfast and brunch crowd - lots of college students so a young crowd too. Food is decent but service leaves a lot to be desired. My daughter had a breakfast quesadilla and my wife had the Green Goddess breakfast sandwich - both were quite tasty. I had a cinnamon bun but found it dry. As mentioned, service is spotty - had to ask twice for wife's sandwich well after me and my daughter were served. Dog Lane's system of finding your table via these oversized playing cards (which are issued to you once you place your order at the counter) was majorly inefficient with dish-laden waitstaff wandering all over the place trying to spot your playing card on the table. It's actually rather amusing and comical to watch - unless, of course, you're the one waiting for your food and frantically waving your card.

    Bottomless cup of Hot Tea.

They don't have a public wifi or any outlets to be considered a cafe... it's more like a cafeteria. Order at the counter and they will bring your food for you. They have a bottomless hot coffee or tea corner if you are going to stay long. Will hand you a cup for that. Ambient lighting and mild background noise. Will get loud when busy.

It's $8.50 and only 1 egg. So skimpy! They don't even melt the cheese so it's usually cold and makes the sandwich more meh

I think there's a huge hype around Dog Lane Cafe because it is so close to the university. THE FOOD I used to somewhat enjoy the food here but I feel like it has gotten worse in recent years. Although I know prices listed already include tax, the "true" price is still very overpriced in my opinion. -breakfast sandwich for $8.50 and it is soooo skimpy. It should be priced $5 at the most for what you get! -also you can see in the image here they didn't clean the knife before slicing my sandwich. Good thing I'm not allergic to pesto. -we've gotten the breakfast potatoes twice but never again. First time they were absolutely raw! So gross. Second time they were tiny shriveled up and disgustingly cold. I can't believe I paid an extra $2 in either instance. -the other sandwiches are hit or miss. Attached is a recent Turkey sandwich I ordered. I will say that almost never mess up when you ask for something with/without (ex. Big onion hater here) -Soup is usually good -I like their salads as well but to go they give you the same amount of dressing with a large salad as they do a small so I stopped ordering them to just pay $9 for essentially dry lettuce. THE SERVICE -the workers are usually pleasant -you seat yourself and take a card to display so they know where to deliver the food THE DRINKS -I'm a big fan of their vanilla chais, hot or iced are very tasty -they also have a nice variety of coffee you can get -they sell alcohol but I've never gone here and wanted any THE ATMOSPHERE -it's got really nice cafe vibes -we enjoy sitting outside when the weather is nice Overall, I wish the food was more consistent and reasonable for the price you pay because I really like the atmosphere and convenience of location.

Service was acceptable, but lacking in level of personality or engagement. For me, these characteristics are memorable and would help inspire me to come back. The food was as described on the menu, but equally lacking in pizazz. My Mexican Bowl was lukewarm and my friends' burgers were both well-done, despite only one of them asking for it being this way, and the fries were overcooked. I like crispy, but not to the over-the-top degree to which they were done. Bottom line: Eat here if you are hungry and your needs will be met, but this place could use a lift in sparkle and quality.

During my last visit it was relatively quiet, so I took a seat and went through the menu. My server was very friendly and professional. I took her recommendations and got the churro crepes and peppermint latte. Latte came out quick, same with the crepe. The latte was very sweet, lots of sugar and mint. Coffee flavor was obliterated, and was a bit much for me. Informed my server, offered a drip coffee as a replacement but I opted against. The crepe was going to be a lot of sugar too, so just sent it back. She communicated with her team to watch the syrup pours for future drinks, which is a good proactive move. The churro crepes. Conceptually is a good idea. The cheesecake filling was tasty and a reprieve from the avalanche of caramel syrup and sugar. The churros were warmed up but the server was very honest that they were not made on the spot. Outside of the churro was crunchy and inside was stuffed. The crepe was not warm, so I don't think it was made fresh to order either. When I asked the server, she insisted it was made to order. The price was 21 for the latte and crepe. The price of the crepe was high for the quantity and quality. The latte was reasonable for price, but might want to ask to go light on the syrup. Given the location, it's one of the few breakfast spots around that area. It's not bad, but they do price accordingly for the lack of competition. It's not a trek place, but it's one of the few options around without driving 15 minutes. If you need breakfast in that area, then it works.

No chairs because of Covid, but it looks post-apocalyptic - there's no ambiance to even mention. The customer in front of me ordered with someone who was running orders - and by the time she got to the counter to pay, the girl behind the register didn't know the order. The customer, an elderly person, couldn't remember and I helped her recall her order. When I cashed out, they gave me my order of two cinnamon raisin bagels, and I asked about the blueberry muffins. My question was answered but the girl cashing me out didn't ask if I'd like to add a blueberry muffins to my order! Cause I wanted to! But before I knew it, my card was swiped and it was over. I understand food service isn't a glamorous job - I worked here for 3 1/2 years about 5 years ago. Even on my toughest days, I tried to put on a smile for the customers. It's literally all about the service they receive and their loyalty to the establishment to return. Quality of food is part of it - which the crew in the back has had for *ages*, but everything the customer sees is sad. My motto was that you eat with your eyes, and that means the ambiance and appearance. None of which Bagel One has right now. I hope this changes. I used to love it here. And it hurts to see Bagel One like this.

All the tables were dirty, drinks spilled all over the floor, and the ceiling tiles were so brown and stained that some of them were sagging. We ordered before realizing how dirty it was and were worried the whole time that we would get sick. The food was ok, but I can't get past the unsanitary conditions and won't eat there again. I don't think they could possibly pass a health inspection with the state of the eating area. I really hope they clean the restaurant up and get more friendly staff so they can stay in business.
