Cute down home local ma & pa biz

Always lovin this local Italian mom & pop VERY affordable restaurant! They are SO good to us every time we stop in! It's a great satisfying homestyle meal, or get a slice. Sal's always here manning the ovens himself. Perfection every time! Tonight I got a personal Sicilian pizza for only $8! Check out my pics for the deets. It's all good here! Thank for reading me & happy healthy yelping!

    Sicilian personal...could feed a family!

I am sitting here at Sal's looking for my prior review and strange though it be, it appears I have never reviewed it. How can that be? Great thin crust AND Sicilian pizza, fresh salads, perfectly cooked pasta, and the best home style parmesans around. Sal cooks it all himself and looks like he was born to be in a kitchen. 5 booths and a few tables, usually filled with families. Many regulars since Sal seems to know them all. A little over a dozen "gourmet" pizzas or build your own. Delicious fresh salads, stuffed bread, paninis, calzones, subs, and "homemade dinners." I've sampled much of the menu and loved it all. They do seem to do a lot of take out but amazing service. Love this place. Over and over again.

I can't speak for the pizza but I can speak for the service and dinners. I had the eggplant parm and my son the chicken parm. They were both delicious and included a house salad and bread. The sauce that was served with the meals was so good. It was nice and fresh tasting. Service was friendly and attentive. I would go back.

    Sal's house special with anchovies

I took out a small Sal's house special with anchovies. I am having anchovy after 14 years, I forgot the fact that I never liked anchovy. But apart from that it was a nice pizza.

I ordered Sal's Pizza last evening to satisfy the unstopped hunger I had been receiving. This pizza certainly satisfied these unruly cravings of mine, but I have some comments and concerns that I wish to address in this review: 1. Over the phone; they told me I can put bacon on "virtually anything", and then preceded to hang up the phone when I requested it be put on the soda I had ordered. Later, we got the bacon problems sorted, but I was still unsatisfied. 2. when the pizza was finally delivered, I consumed it in record pace, but the meat left more to be desired; it was flaky, overly sweet, and tasted like if someone drowned a baby in olive oil. My 3rd and final issue with this pizza is that it gave me an aura that I can only describe as despicable. The pizza was subpar and I felt insulted when consuming it, but all in all I would recommend it to those who want subpar pizza. 3/5 Would recommend. - Loe Granola

Great pizza! I love the mannicott dinner. The sauce is perfect. They also have grinders on fresh bread. Yummy and definitely Italian!

It's a painting, an arts and craft, a bakery, and a coffee shop. Great place for friends to get together and spend quality time, with great refreshment. They make their own bread, Cheddar scallion scones, chocolate chip cookies, sandwiches, and many other items. My favorites are the different coffees and teas. The staff is very pleasant and helpful, both with the food service and the arts. What a gem to have on Main Street.

Opted for the blueberry pancake cold brew, along with a piece of banana bread and an egg sandwich with turkey. Food was delivered outside, and I took my pics. The breakfast sandwich is delightful. Everything is seasoned, punchy, and plentiful. The bread was grilled on a panini griddle, but didn't toast. So there wasn't a lot of contrast in textures. But the egg was fluffy, had a cheese skirt, garlic aoli is strong, and the bread is baked fresh. The cold brew was strong, but the cold foam on top mellowed the coffee out and gave it a nice blueberry and yeasty sip. Very similar to a blueberry pancake which the drink is named for. Good but leaned heavy on the cold foam. Banana bread was a bit gummy. Too much banana and not enough flour nor sugar. Not bad, but the weakest bite of them all. Price was high, at about 24 for the 3 items. The quality is worth the price point, and it's a great but somewhat limited breakfast spot for the area. If you want an avocado toast, breakfast sandwich with actual flavor, and wicked strong coffee, then this place does it well. Baked goods can be a bit random in quality, but the savory fare is great

They even have outdoor seating ( covered to allow shade) . The service is always great . Our server was very polite , attentive, asked about allergies , gave his suggestions , and constantly checked in on us to make sure we had everything . For started I got the firecracker shrimp , which had a sweet and tangy sauce which was delicious highly recommend ( I personally didn't think it was spicy but had great flavour ) For my entree I got the California chicken sandwich which was really good . Highly recommend and I got the side of truffle fries which had just the right amount of truffle ( since I personally don't like to much truffle ) Plenty of flavour . I also ordered the aperol spritz which was nice and light and refreshing . My friend ordered the filet which was cooked perfectly to what he wanted. Nice light seasoning with salt and pepper and juicy on the inside . Served with delicious mashed potatoes and green beans . The espresso martini he said was his second best he's ever tasted ! Which is a win . For dessert we. Tried the seven layer chocolate cake to go! Which heated up and with a scoop of ice cream was amazing very thick and rich in flavour which I loved. Overall good food , great service and great ambiance . I will def be back

He was well-versed in gluten free options, and I appreciated how hard he worked running dishes, assisting servers where he could, and still taking care of customers. Now for the food! Food was solid, but I was looking for more WOW. Now, the appetizers were WOW. Gluten free calamari and the Bang Bang Cauliflower were WOW. I could not have told that they were gluten free! Especially the calamari! The coating stuck to the calamari well and was not too greasy. The cauliflower was very good, and while I would have enjoyed a little less sauce, it was so much fun to eat such a crispy delicious bite of fried broccoli. I also had the octopus and roasted potatoes, and while the octopus was cooked well and was delicious, the roasted potatoes were almost rubbery. I wanted them hotter, roasted, browned and crispy a little bit, but they were plain. The dish came with a corn succotash as well, but I I was looking for a different flavor with this dish. I also got the gluten free lobster roll, and maybe it's the style I wasn't a big fan of (warm buttered), but I think there's an opportunity to butter the roll itself and toast it on a griddle to invoke that crispy buttered roll that screams lobster roll deliciousness. The fries were great. I live it when they aren't too thin, a little thicker, nicely salted, and that perfect crunchy crispy brown and caramelized with a soft center. Add some lovely service, and I would happily come back to Burton's and all of their gluten free options any day of the week. What a treat!

Ambience: they have a spacious contemporary dining room and a separate bar section complete with TV screens all over the place. Food: we ordered: Calamari - the portion size was average, but the squid pieces were small in size. 4/5 Pastrami Reuben - this was a bit too salty and oily. 2/5 Dry Age Burger - this was really good. The funkiness of the dry age flavor came through. The burger was moist and hit the spot. 5/5 Onion Rings - 4 jumbo fried rings of oniony goodness. 5/5 Service: super friendly and nice.

Server showed up quickly and took our drink orders. Menu is extensive and should provide plenty of options for everyone. (Pictures of menu included here) We ordered the 5 ounce burger with cheese and fries and the Texas hold em burger with bacon minus tomato and lettuce and fries and the French onion soup. There was a short wait till the soup came out. Nicely covered with melted cheese on top. The soup was good but didn't have the depth of beef flavor and spice texture that I was looking for. There plenty of onions, croutons, and cheese and overall it was okay. The burgers were well cooked and flavorful. They offered two sizes of their standard burgers, 5 or 8 ounces. The smaller size was just right for the person I was with. The cheese seemed to melt into the burger so it wasn't really visible. The hold em burger was large and had onion straws and three slices of very crispy bacon on top. There was a dollop of the bbq/house dressing and plenty of onions straws. The straws were nicely fried but not crispy by the time they reached the table but added a good dimension to the burger. It was good to leave the tomato and lettuce off as the height of the burger made it tough to bite into. The fries were disappointing. They had the right color for being fried and crispy but they were limp and soft. They are clearly are fresh cut from large potatoes but really need to be fried longer to get that crispy crunch you'd expect. Told the server that and was told to ask for the fries extra crispy. Overall not a bad first trip. We'll go back and try some other things on the menu and see what extra crispy fries are like.
