I get the bill and she's charged me an extra $1 for avocado and $0.50 for Apple Chips .. I explain I have been coming to Panera for years, ordering this and have never been charged to take off chicken/cheese & sub for avocado and apple chips .. the manager is so UNFRIENDLY and RUDE - she rolls her eyes and acts like a special order (being vegan) is out of her ability to accommodate!!! I have had other friends who live in area have the same poor interaction with the manager - her MO is she rolls her eyes at anyone who questions her about service or orders etc! read more

Honestly I used to get stuff here a lot. Until some really good staff quit. It's all gone downhill ever since. The workers all seem lazy and don't work half the time. When taking my order they never have a smile on their face, almost like they are bored. I felt almost unwelcomed by all the old people who were watching me sit down. Someone gave me a $15 gift card for Panera, so I stopped by yesterday, figuring I'd get something to go and come back for another lunch some other time. Surprise: a small half-sandwich and small bowl (I had to tell an employee that I ordered a bowl or soup, not the cut and he said "that is the bowl") cost $14.20. WHAT? The sandwich (bacon, turkey avocado) wasn't anything special. The French Onion soup was way too hot -- had to wait 15 minutes to eat it even after driving 10 minutes home with it. Quality wise, it was good, and if I were at a nice restaurant I wouldn't balk at the price, but for a small cup of soup it was way overpriced. I can't believe this place can charge what they do while being next to a Chipotle and Mod Pizza, which give you much more better quality food at a lower price. Our food (soup and salad) came out in a reasonable amount of time, but the table next to us had waited 45 minutes for their sandwiches. When they asked the lady that brought our food when their sandwiches were coming, the lady went bonkers, 'have you seen how busy we are, you just have to wait like everyone else'. Her attitude was totally unacceptable. I was at the counter waiting for a to go box when the man came to the cashier to ask for a refund (now probably close to a hour since they ordered), he asked for the manager and the cashier went to ask her to come but came back and said she can't come out right now. Was there the other day and it was very busy, not to order but where you eat. We walked right up and ordered. I asked if the chicken noodle soup was any good and the didn't answer me. I then ordered my norm which the broccoli cheddar soup, which by the way is amazing and I get it every time. I finished my order with my son and mother in law. We pay and then someone from the back comes out to let me know the broccoli cheddar soup is sold out!!! What?!! Why didn't they let me know that when I ordered?! I switched it to the chicken noodle soup. It was actually pretty good. We then went to find a place to sit down and wait for our food. There were maybe 2 whole clean tables in the place. It was busy, but a lot of the tables were dirty. I had no idea that you took your plates to the area up front until recently. They should let people know so there are not so many dirty tables. Go across the street to Starbucks. I usually enjoy trips to Panera, but this one was several steps below the usual ones in the chain. They ran out of coffee filters (?!) and only had two pots of coffee available, which ran out by the time I went for a second cup. I have always liked Panera and I always made a point of going there at least one during our trips to CA but now I no longer have to go months in between visits! So I am very happy the Oro Valley location opened up! I am loving the fall butternut squash ravioli and wish it was on the permanent menu. I know first hand how clean this restaurant is (daughter works there) and that is always a BIG PLUS in my book. For a chain restaurant, you can count on food that is fresh and tasty and doesn't seem like a chain restaurant. I had ordered for me and my family almost 50$ and I had curb side pick up. When the lady came out I checked to make sure there was three of everything and there was only one bread for 3 orders. Again Panera Oro Valley disappoints. I can't remember the last time I was happy coming away from this place. Went through the drive through and came home to find out that my turkey avocado BLT doesn't have avocado or tomato on it! And my husbands garden salad came with lettuce and cucumbers and that's it. I understand if they state "we don't have tomatoes or avocados or onions" but none of that was said. And we got two kids meals with yogurt but there's no yogurt in the bag! Just went through the drive-thru and ordered a Caesar Salad which is supposed to be romaine lettuce. When we got home my daughter started eating it and says she "wasn't a big fan" of her salad, that it was very bitter. Although the food is alright and the area is generally very clean- the music volume varies greatly. Visiting with someone you met for a meal with can be impossible at times. Currently- I'm sitting with both earplugs in and headphones on with music playing and I can STILL hear their music blaring through. This is the third coming here and the third time they messed up the order. I stayed away for a year based on the two previous mistakes. This was a bad experience. We placed the order online for rapid pickup which is supposed to be ready in 5 to 10 minutes. We waited in the lot for 30 minutes. We called twice before going inside to get our order. Once we got home, we realized we were shorted a sandwich so we had to drive back. The manager apologized and admitted they have issues with order accuracy and high staff turnover. Sounds like the management team needs to go. They did refund the missing sandwich. Should have learned my lesson from my first two visits but it's three strikes and your out Panera. My husband picked up food at Panera bread for dinner. We ordered two bowls and they were half full, the food was dried out and we could t even eat the little that was sent. We ordered the kids a pizza and it tasted horrible/bland. We also ordered the kids Mac and cheese. It tasted OK but it was a very small amount. It was suppose to come with yogurt and they didn't have any so they Charged us and didn't offer any substitutes. My husband said his sandwich was ok. The Green Goddess Cobb salad is my favorite, and I order it quite often. Unfortunately, there tends to be a lot of inconsistency with how it's made... Today I had my order delivered. I selected for No diced bacon, but it was still included on my salad. There was also about a table spoon worth of avocado (the smallest about I've ever received), which was very mushy and dark. We orrder food for our office staff to thank them. Order it via the Panera website for delivery. They do state that for delivery their food prices are higher and they charge some sort of technology fee of about $9. We get the order and a soup is missing. I call them and tell them there is a soup missing, in a careless attitude they tell me to come and pick it up. I remind them that paid for delivery, and their answer "you will have to take it up with doordash". I did not order it via doordash I ordered it via the Paner website and they charged me extra for that privilege. The Manager got on the phone and pretty much said " ..nothing I can do" They spoiled a nice lunch for our staff, never again will I go there. read more

We requested no onions on salad, but had a handful on top. French onion soup did not have advertised cheese or croutons, just the onion broth. Old review: I really like Panera's mobile ordering app and use it often. Unfortunately our order is often missing items. Tonight not only were items missing from our order (my daughter didn't check it) but we had a sandwich we didn't order. They have good photographers for their promotions, but when the food arrives it has no resemblance to the photos. The half turkey and kale panini is about 2 inches square. It contains some nasty rubbery meat and a couple of pieces of green slimy vegetable matter. The green salad ordered with it was tired, discolored, and certainly not fresh. The tomatoes were underripe and mealy, quite an achievement. Here's a hint - if the lettuce has black/brown veins running through it, throw it away. Don't serve it to me. Or better still eat it your self. This might clue you into how bad the food is, but my guess is you wouldn't notice. This place is a joke and has nothing to do with real food. First visit here today, been wanting to try this location for awhile. Upon entering, at roughly 230pm, it wasn't very busy at all. We ordered our food, got the soup and sandwich special and went to look for a seat. The lady helping us was very professional but not really friendly, kinda just got the standard script lines for taking an order. As we walked around looking for a table we noticed quickly how messy the place was, a lot of tables hadn't been bussed and there was a lot of food remnants on the floors. The food was really good so they get three stars, but you have to wonder if the front of the house looks like that, how's the back look!!?? To one employee's defense, as we ate, he was racing around cleaning. Just don't see how it got neglected to begin with since it wasn't that busy. read more
