Pasta with red sauce
Connie G.

I stopped in here quickly for a late lunch of simple pasta with red sauce. I had my dog with me so we sat outside on the patio. The young lady bussing tables was very friendly and so was the cashier. No complaints at all about the service. The red sauce was buttery and slightly sweet with chunks of tomato. The roll came in a small bag with a chunk of butter and was room temperature

Baked Beef Lasagna

This was an Uber Eats order. I got the lasagna with an extra roll actually with the side of roll. It doesn't come with one and for a dessert I got their triple chocolate chip cookie. I typically get pizzas here. I never gotten pasta and I was pleasantly surprise. The lasagna was delicious it it's cheesy and creamy with the right amount of sauce not too much not too little and the cookie was I mean come on how can you go wrong with triple chocolate right the delivery was fast and easy to retrieve. They packaged it. Well, they did forget utensils but that's OK. We're definitely get this again.

Sauce is a decent chain and this location is always clean. It is located close to the Park Place area and the parking lot is usually not too crowded. The drive in front of the business is the entrance to Broadway and sometimes people come in too fast, so I recommend watching closely. The service is counter ordering, with a wall menu (but you can get a hand held one), there sometimes is a short line to get to order. Get a table number and they bring your food to you. Soft drinks are fountain self serve. After getting your meal, there is not much on service, but you can go to the counter by the oven to ask for items like to go boxes. Pizzas are tasty and grilled in the oven. drinks are fountain and limited bottle beer wine. People are friendly, occasionally a manager will come out to check everyone. Plenty of room to bring family and you can move the tables around. There is an outdoor patio area. I don't usually give more than 4 stars for a chain, unless things are amazing. So this location does a really good job. I've been here many times and we have not had any major issues, and leave satisfied.

The Pig

Super busy for a Friday night and very very loud. Food came out quick. Not a fan of pizza places that charge for ranch I tried The Pig pizza and it was very good, full of a lot of toppings.

Burnt like this in every piece and took 25 minutes
Sam H.

Wish I could give 0 stars but the service was good but the food came out it took 25 minutes and there was only 6 people in the restaurant and I was the only one waiting on food. When pizza finally came out it was extremely burned black on every piece and dried out from being in the oven too long. They should've offered me a refund and I just wanted to leave after receiving my pizza.

Turkey and havarti panini
Randee L.

Sauce is hit or miss these days. The food was just alright. Granted, we got it to go so maybe the effort is less than for in-house orders. The Turkey and Havarti panini was "fine". It needed more sauce because it was dry and not very flavorful. The Caesar salad with chicken was decent, however the chicken was dry and didn't have much flavor either. The Burrata pizza was not like the advertised picture. It came with about 10, unripe, cherry tomatoes, 1-2 basil leaves torn apart, and a light drizzle of balsamic glaze. It did come with the large ball of burrata cheese on the side and some chunks of minced garlic. They usually have a great Mac and Cheese and The Pig pizza is also decently topped with various meats. The service was fast this time which was nice because we were in a hurry.

Loving her pizza!
Emy H.

This was our first visit to this location. This time I ordered an Italian panini and my husband ordered the spicy chicken pasta dish. My daughter of course enjoyed her cheese pizza. The food was like the same like the last location except I felt my panini was slightly overcooked but it was still good. We love buying gift cards at Costco so we will of course be back :)

Blue pet carrier as they were leaving Sauce

I LOVE Sauce Pizza & Wine! This review is not about the food or service. Hence, the 5 star review. They have great food and fabulous service. But I do question why they allow pets (not service pets) in the restaurant or why people think it is ok to bring them in. Here is a pic of the pet in the blue pet carrier on the chair. This is definitely a no for me. Don't get me wrong. I love pets...I just don't want to eat with them inside restaurants, etc. (The attached pics are not too clear as I did not want to capture faces.)

The Meatballs and Mozzarella Panini was scarce on balls that were falling out of sandwich on arrival.
Hope N.

I had heard great things about this place (their pizza and salads) so was excited to go when friends suggested it. They all got salads that looked great-and tasted great according to them, the pesto chicken salad and watermelon salad. I knew I didn't have time for a pizza as we were on an hour lunch break so I figured a panini would be quick. When my meatball and mozzarella panini came out 10 min after the salads it was piping hot but was falling out of the sandwich - not sure if they weren't packed in enough (seemed sparse on the meatballs though they tasted good). I never really tasted any mozzarella, which would've kept the meatballs in place if they had been melted over the balls. I do want to try their pizza next time, and I did like the sauce that came w the panini. If you're looking for a quick lunch though, you should order the salads. I may up the stars if the pizza rocks.

Chicken & Pine Nuts salad with bread roll
Eva B.

J placed an order online today and picked it up. It was ready within 15 minutes even right at around 12:15. The inside dining area was busy! There's also outdoor seating available. My favorite is the chicken and pine nuts salad and their pizzas. Delicious! The salad comes with a yummy warm bread roll that they make. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. This is a great place for a work lunch or to meet up with a friend.

My other half and I were actually going to have lunch somewhere else when Sauce caught my eye on Broadway. Why not? The patio looked inviting. The menu is posted on the wall. You can't miss it. Today we ordered Caprese salad for my guy and Veggie salad for me. We were having a pleasant conversation and our food was brought to our table quickly. His salad? Haha. He absolutely loved it. He even ate half the greens ( for a veggie hater this was awesome) and devoured the tomatoes and mozzarella. The balsamic is delcious I might add. Of course I took a nibble of his salad,LOL. My salad was good. The vinegarette was ok but I think it needed a bit more flavor. Salt and pepper helped. And a tad more avocado wouldn't hurt. I like this place. It's comfortable, bright, clean , lots of variety on their menu and friendly employees. Sure, we'll be back.

Wanted to support all the folks busting their bums during this crazy time so I ordered take out tonight. I opted for the wild mushroom pizza and the pine nut/gorgonzola chicken salad. Both were super tasty. I appreciated that they put the arugula salad for the pizza in a separate container so it wouldn't make the pizza soggy. The pizza had loads of mushroom flavor (which is pretty much the point) and it was fabulous. The salad had tons of cheese and pine nuts which I inhaled rather expeditiously. All in all, a great to go meal. Thank you for continuing to work during this COVID19 craziness!!!

The coffee and baked goods were phenomenal, but the real standout for me was the breakfast sandwich. Who knew such simple ingredients on a brioche bun could come together like a work of art? Every bite was balanced and incredibly satisfying. And the staff? Absolutely wonderful. Their warmth and hospitality honestly gave Southern hospitality a run for its money. We ordered mocktails, as she's 17 and I rarely drink, and they were truly refreshing and delicious. Our server, I've forgotten his name, was tall, friendly and patient when I requested to stagger service, as it was a Sunday evening at 1630. The bread and oil was ok, calamari app was good, mostly tentacles and felt as if a third of the plate was just breading afterwards because we got the bottom of the bag from the freezer. For entrees, my daughter had the ragu bolognese and it was 4 minutes away from being al dente, the pasta was uncooked and tough. I wanted to send it back but my daughter said she would "just eat it". I usually get pasta or branzino, but this time I opted for the roasted chicken and it was the most insipid dish I have ever tasted. The chicken was boiled or sous vide and then given char marks on a grill, not roasted, not herbed, just charred. The au jus an overly salted corn starch thickened glaze. The broccolini and polenta on side were good and that's what I ate. The chef needs to fix this item or take it off the menu expeditiously. During dining service we felt bad for the several servers who were dealing with 2 screaming kids running through the dining room and out onto the patio. Several times bumping into servers with trays, the parents, cocktail in hand, barely did anything to attempt to stop them. As a restaurant, if something happened to those children, tray with piping hot pasta, it would be your responsibility, so next time kindly ask them to leave. It was loud and wrong and not the fault of your servers. All in all, I will have to take Locale off my list of restaurants to recommend for Italian food in Tucson, it was always the first place I recommend.

We ordered 4 pizzas and all were good. We particularly liked the Chiles and Cream Pizza, Everything Pizza, and the Pesto Pizza. Some in our group had the Penne Pesto Pasta with chicken and my wife and I shared the Penne Arrabbiate with meatballs, and both were fantastic, and the server automatically split the dishes for us. Busy on a Weds 330PM shortly after doors open, after 2 days off, but understand it fills up even own the patio and after tasting you'll know why :) Fine dusted parm topped a zesty house dressed $13 Caesar that was pre-split for sharing. House croutons need more of a blast in that wooded oven to crisp up as they were limp and doughy but still polished off the greens. 4/5* Love me some Mortadella and hard to find on menus even in an Italian Grinder here, so my focus lasered in on Tony Balona $18 with Burrata, smoked mozz (didn't taste any smoke) and pistachio dust (very minimal at center, wah), thick swirls of pistachio pesto and switched red sauce for garlic oil, a thin simple sauce. Pistachio not really noticeable in pesto or dust, I really enjoyed my pie, though its not as complex tasting as you might believe. Dough with it's black blisters definitely shines. 5/5* Hub's Classic Pepperoni $17 was flooded in lil' crispy cups; devoured! Beechwood Brewing centraholic West Coast IPA 7% ABV, a Golden hoppy entry with med bitter to end, Light body and lasting Creamy head was a great pizza accompaniment, as was a regular vs White Negroni on menu. Had an herbal syrup less bitter front than a typical in your face Campari sip. Service was efficient. Water carafe to table on seating. Sure hope they save the water left over given the constant desert shortage, as we only drank 1/3 due to our ABV glasses. Even though the restaurant was open for business they did not answer the phone! Warning! I finally had my call answered in the evening and made our reservation and informed them that we were interested in the 'Cheese Wheel Linguine' as you are required. We were then informed while ordering that they would not be doing the 'wheel' due to 'callouts' that night. OK, so I tried to order (4) different bottles of Chardonnay and they were out of three of them. We started with an appetizer of 'calamari' and it came 'burnt' and like rubber. We also ordered their famous Caesar Salad and were never served. We then decided to order a pizza which was served to us cold, uncooked and doughy. The poor wait staff and cooks are not managed correctly and were well over whelmed with no help. I was informed that the restaurant has 'new ownership' as they were purchased by 'Flying Leap Vineyards' and have been recently having staffing issues, inventory issue's and the new owners have cut back on everything. They did credit us on our bill for the cold uncooked pizza and the burnt calamari that was not edible. Our waiter felt so bad but, as we told him it was not his fault we were leaving without eating dinner 90 minutes later. Flying Leap Vineyards needs to somehow overcome this type of quality and improve things in a hurry otherwise ' just shut the doors' and sell Wine!
