This MOD pizza is located in the shopping center where the Nordstrom rack and TJ Maxx stores are located. That's where I happen to be at when I saw on pizza and decided to check them out I've been to their Sarita location, but I've never been to this one. We just ordered a normal MOD pizza size and a side salad. Honestly, all the ingredients were so fresh and they are generous when adding to your pizza they also added breadsticks to the menu and a cookie pizza. I should've taken a picture of that. I ended up getting there no name cake and right now because of the season they have a pumpkin no-name cake. We arrived at 9:00 an hour before closing. One staff was cleaning the pizza bar despite people waiting in line. There were 2 people making pizzas but no one was putting them in the oven so they were stacking up. We waited 10-12 min in line before anyone even acknowledged us - when we asked if there was going to be a wait. They said they were short staffed (but 5 people working) and it took at least 20-25 for us to finally order. Italian here. Had pizza and greek salad on Father's Day. Amazed at the number of high star reviews for this pizza chain. It's wood or gas fired pizza. Probably the latter. So one expects something closer to a quality Neapolitan pizzeria. This ain't it. It's as if you gave someone pizza ingredients who'd never been to Naples, Italy or any good American city pizza. The results were bland. First bites of a good pizza yield a "mmmm" from most diners. After my first bite, and all the rest, I thought, "Don't bring high expectations here." This was my first time here. I needed to wait for a tow truck and I ducked in here for a ice tea. It was a time of observation. They only have a couple sizes of pizza, and the salad bowl is really large. The pizzas looked and smelled great and I am highly encouraged to come by here for take out. Was pleasantly surprised. The service was very friendly, above and beyond. They thought they burned one of our pizzas so they took it upon themselves to re-make it, without us even saying anything. We had tried a similar type of pizza place when we were visiting family in Minneapolis, so decided to give this a try. My husband and I split the 11" cauliflower crust pizza. We were able to choose what toppings we wanted on it. I chose several meats and cheeses, plus roasted garlic cloves, onion, and mushrooms. I thoroughly enjoyed it, although I'm not sure their crust is low carb. I think it might be gluten-free though. It was nice and crispy and the toppings were flavorful. My husband would've preferred more sauce on his. While it looked like they were kind of skimpy on the toppings, when it was baked it felt like just the right amount. Just had pizzas with a friend here and I was very impressed. The woman at the counter was incredibly energetic, accommodating, and professional. The gluten friendly crust was too dark on the last 1/4" of the edges for me, but the pizza (nd the rest of the crust) was otherwise delicious and enjoyable. Very reasonably priced (even more reasonable if you get regular wheat crust). I will say that my friend and I were quite cold inside and were relieved to get out into the hot AZ sun! Service is very slow. The pizzas were probably under cooked because they had soggy very light crust. The soda machine had flat soda and when I told one of the workers he said he would put in a new cartridge for the carbonation. I asked this right after ordering and getting the drink cups. He never did it until we were finished eating. He announced this to me when I went up to check for about the 5th time. Friendliest service in Tucson and the pizza's great too! The "subway-like" format of the pizza assembly line is great and the staff is definitely generous with the toppings! For the price, it simply can't be beat. I asked for extra meat on my pizza and boy did the staff oblige! It was really tasty...perfectly sauced, perfectly cooked with a crispy, slightly chewy crust and the cheese was stringy and flavorful, just like you'd expect (did a mozzarella blend with parmesean). The draft beer option is a nice touch for a cozy pizza joint and a hidden gem here is their caramelized pear tea. It is one of the most incredible sweet teas I've ever had (and I'm not particularly fond of sweet teas). Overall, I highly recommend Mod pizza. It's modern and cozy, the food is just incredible, you can customize your pizza to meet your needs, great prices, and the staff is truly world-class. I rarely go anywhere else for pizza.
