My husband and I met a friend at this Panera Bread. The restaurant was set up so that it is comfortable and inviting to meet with friends. We wanted to get a light lunch so we ordered the you pick two with the chicken pesto dippers and autumn squash soup with baguette. We were offered a half price bakery item and we got the cinnamon roll. The soup and sandwich were very good and flavorful. The cinnamon roll was decent but on the plainer side. Overall we had a good experience at Panera Bread.

Broccoli cheddar soup
Rerajitha M.

The freezing weather today got me craving for some soup and Panera came to the rescue!! The broccoli cheddar soup always hits the spot! We ordered on the app today and dined in at the local panera. I got the southwest chicken sourdough melt which was so comforting with the broccoli cheddar soup as part of the pick 2 combo. I also got an apple with it. We also got the chipotle chicken melt on black pepper focaccia which was fresh and delicious too. The inside of this panera has a cozy old school diner vibe with lots of college kids working on their laptops and studying. Best place when the cravings for soup hit hard!

Mediterranean Bowl with Chicken
Cindy S.

Earned a free warm bowl through the MyPanera rewards -- used this to order the Mediterranean Bowl with Chicken. The bowl comes with cilantro lime brown rice and quinoa, chicken, arugula, grape tomatoes, kalamata olives, hummus, lemon tahini dressing, feta and greek yogurt. Overall, the bowl tasted pretty good. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to eat this or really crave it, but if I happened to be in the mood for a healthier meal at panera, this is probably what I would order. Serving size is pretty big. I could probably split this into 2 smaller meals.

Wrong order, I didn't order cinnamon rolls

Greetings, I ordered online at 8:20am/8:30am yesterday morning 12/19/2023, I placed the order online to be pick up at 2:45pm, I arrived at this location early and I was on time at 2:32pm. I pull up in the drive-thru, I specifically ask this lying special young lady about my order, I repeated my name twice, the special young lady tells me that my order is correct and ready. So, I had to wait for an order that was previously called in the morning. I finally get my order? I Head home, just to pull up in my driveway, put my car in park to look in the bag to see my order is wrong. I'm beyond frustrated so I tried calling three times, no one answered my calls. So I go in to, change my clothes, I come back out and drive back to the same location. As I walk in, I see a young lady, she looks at me and she keep walking to the back, with another young kid, she begins to dance. Something I noticed with business and other businesses, all I see is babies/ kids working, I think that's part of the problem. The younger generation is out of control. Moving forward, I get there, I greet a young lady, I ask to speak with a manager. He (assistant manager) walks up to the Register/counter, rude, he didn't greet me. I spoke to him to him anyway, then I describe to him in details why I ask to speak to a manager. The assistant manager nonchalantly dismissively rudely interrupted me while I'm talking, he ask me for my name and then he comes back with this stone cold zombie look on his face and says I will give you a refund, he shows me no concerns. At this time my forehead is sweating, I'm getting more annoyed, and I say to the assistant manager is that it, then I say to him, do you not understand how much valuable time I've wasted, I then say, I worked fourteen hours today, I just want my refund and go home. The manager looks me in my eyes and tells me you are getting a refund, what do you want! He then says do you want a reward. I ask him he was serious! I then ask him, has he taken a customer service course. I tell him it's not about the refund, it's the principle. I tell him, it's not what he did, it's how he went about doing it. I tell the manager to lead by example. I ask him for my refund and I left out. The young lady who was in the drive-thru is a rude unprofessional liar, The assistant manager was rude, nonchalant, unprofessional, and he has no people skills, no mannerism, no understanding, and he is beyond ignorant. General manager Mr. Jordan, definitely not a good look. My question is, do you care about your customers? I'm reading the reviews, I'm not the first person to experience receiving the wrong order. From my experience your assistance manager needs coaching, and your special lying young lady employee needs to take a customer service course. The worst experiences that I've experienced at a panera bread business. I'm definitely not coming back. Thanks.

My vegetarian son can be happy here. Me, too. Free wi-fi, if that matters to you; I can at least say that it works.

My husband ordered the Beefeater sandwich and really enjoyed it -- hearty, fresh, and exactly what you want from a classic deli favorite. The service truly stood out. The cashier was so friendly and welcoming, and I believe the manager (she had a ponytail and was wearing a black polo) was working next to her and was equally kind. The cashier even asked if we were rewards members. I couldn't remember if I still was, so she kindly looked us up and sure enough -- I was! We even had a free drink on my account, which was such a nice surprise. Great food, friendly service, and little extra touches that make you want to come back. We'll definitely be visiting again!

Why did I ever come back? Today I ordered the chicken salad with pineapple to go. It looks weird. No wonder, the chicken is GRATED with pineapple. It is weird-tasting and not good. Plus they toasted my whole wheat bun, & why? I didn't ask for that. I am here wondering again why am I here? But for sure I am not returning.

If I could sum up my experience at Abor Vitae in one word, I'd choose "Amazing."…read more As noted so well in other reviews, this little shop is tucked away in the NIU building on Diehl Road. And while it may be a little difficult to find it, it proves the maxim that good things are worth looking for (if that's not a maxim, it is now). The owner roasts his own coffee beans, roasts chicken in house, uses orgcanic greens, makes his own salad dressing, and makes soups from scratch daily. Plus, he serves breakfast, with all the accoutrements one would want. I enjoyed a fresh cup of coffee, some scrambled eggs with sausage, and an English muffin. It was all tasty. The star of the show, however, was the sample of lentil soup he gave me. As I was paying for my bill, I said to Ashraf, the owner: "I'll be back next week to buy some beans from you. And if I like your soup, I'll buy that too. Trust me." "I do trust you," Ashraf said. "And I trust my soup. You'll be back" He was right. I tried the soup that afternoon. It's delightful, flavorful, and made with love. I went back two days later, and bought my coffee beans, and a quart of lentil soup. This is my new favorite place.

All recent reviews are accurate. Great food, friendly service and very reasonably priced lunches…read more Why go outside if you're in the NIU building especially in cold weather! A nice touch, the owner offers free soup samples and everything is homemade.

Unlike most of the reviewers here, I never knew this place when it was new and wonderful…read more I only know it for what it is now: Middle Eastern Chipotle So I started with low expectations. I just wanted (somewhat) healthy take-out with decent flavor, that I could order ahead. I ordered a build-your-own chicken shawarma plate, with hummus and couscous. As noted in the reviews here, they give you very little chicken, so I made sure to order double chicken. It was really good. Flavorful fresh chicken, lightly seasoned couscous. The hummus didn't have much flavor but otherwise everything was yummy. Also ordered the two-pack side of falafel. Looked burnt but actually just right, tons of flavor. Everything was ready right when it was promised. Easy pickup. Tons of parking. Strong review from me but I acknowledge that I don't have the burden of remembering them from the days when they were truly special.

They were starting to go down just before Covid.. and then Covid just about killed them. I thought they may never open again.. so I was glad when they did.. and then I was disappointed. Those strangely sticky tables were still there but the fresh food was gone. Used to be fresh soft pitas everyday.. it was a source of pride for the restaurants. Also, they would slice the meat continuously so that it wasn't sitting around (cool automatic slicing cut it directly from the spit) Now it's a mediocre middle eastern Chipotle styled place serving warmed over food. Such a disappointment. Over 100 visits to Naf Naf and suddenly... I'm done. Been enjoying trying other places, but I miss the old Naf Naf.. the good..no.. the great one.

We hosted a surprise birthday party in the private dining room on a Saturday night for about 40…read moreguests, including kids, and had a genuinely wonderful experience. A few small notes, but overall this place exceeded expectations. The real stars of the night were our servers, Barb and Jeremy. They were consistently attentive, professional, and kind -- not just to us, but to every guest in the room. Jeremy noticed the birthday celebrant hadn't had a chance to try the chicken tenders, and quietly arranged a special plate with bonus fries just for him. That level of care and awareness is hard to find. On to the food -- the chicken tenders appetizers are a must-order. Light batter, juicy, and not dried out like you get at so many other places. They went so fast we ordered a second round, and it came out almost instantly -- no wait at all! The spinach & artichoke dip was warm, cheesy, ooey-gooey perfection, served with light and crispy tortilla chips. I had to physically stop myself from eating more to save room for dinner. For the main course, we had three options. The fettuccine alfredo was generous in portion (I couldn't finish mine!), though the chicken pieces were a touch tough -- and a slice of garlic bread would be a nice touch to balance the creaminess. The meatloaf, though? AMAZING. Served on a french roll, topped with crispy onion straws and a sweet, tasty barbecue glaze -- it was a showstopper. The millionaire bacon burger was untouched at our table, but guests raved it was big, juicy, and delicious. A nice bonus for families: kids under 12 were able to order anything from the kids' menu, which was a great perk for the younger guests. When our 2-hour window was almost up, we were planning to extend -- and before we even asked, they told us the manager said we were welcome to stay longer if we needed. That kind of hospitality goes a long way. We took the full extra hour and guests enjoyed mingling, cake, and desserts without feeling rushed. Oh, and the women's restroom? Clean and fully stocked. Always appreciated! The surprise was a success, and this place played no small part in that. Highly recommend for private events!
