We were denied service at the Panera Bread on Town Center in Viera and were asked to leave the premises because we were not wearing a mask. By the way, everyone seated at a table a few feet away from us was not wearing masks, as if there were an invisible barrier stopping a microscopic virus from moving about between the customers at the tables and everyone else in the restaurant. Where is the science behind this totally ridiculous rule?!?! We left and literally walked a few feet to the Greek restaurant and had no trouble getting served very cordially, we might add. I called that Panera store manager later in the day to get an explanation as to why we were denied service at her store since the State of Florida per executive order of 9/25 by Gov. DeSantis doesn't require face coverings and yet we were denied equal and fair access to her business and she very unprofessionally hung up on me. I called again to let her know how rude she was and she proceeded to hung up on me again!! Unbelievable!! I am never setting foot at a Panera Bread again. They don't deserve my business and I will make sure everyone I know will do the same. read more

Lunch was fast and very good. The bean soup is sooo good! The Greek salad with quinoa was short on toppings but nice and fresh.

I love Panera. Being new to the area, I was happy to learn there was one close from where I live. Well, after my two visits, I'm not planning on coming back. Cashiers are rude and they always seem to be in a bad mood. It definitely takes away that happy feel you get when you visit a Panera that treats their costumers with respect. Normally love Panera and their food, my comfort place to go for a warm taaty meal. Today disappointed in the service at this particular store. Staff is immature and not customer friendly. I placed my order on one of the automated booths and gave my name instead of a pager since I did not see any. Proceeded to stand by the pick ip counter and wait and while doing so I observed one of the staff messing around with another and hitting her on the head with a baguette. After a few minutes of waiting one of the girls asked if that was my order waiting on the counter. Well, I dont know, nobody called me. Wasn't very impressed with this location off on I-95. We stopped on our way up to Jacksonville for a quick lunch and we had high hopes based on how new the entire plaza looked! Upon walking into the Panera there were no kiosks to order your own food and the cashier was none to friendly. The food was average (no mistakes at least) but my tulip cookie was so bad I couldn't even finish it (and I'm a HUGE fan of those seasonal shortbread cookies)!! For my sister's birthday, we enjoyed a nice meal at Panera Bread in a nice shopping center in Melbourne (even though the restaurant was packed). In addition to their delicious breads, bagels, and pastries, Panera Bread makes nice sandwiches and soups. I particularly enjoyed my side of macaroni and cheese. As I was impressed with the large variety of breads, I wasn't sure why my sister was plugging the cinnamon crunch bagel so much until I tried it... Seriously, I have no clue what has happened to this once top notch Panera. Went there last week for lunch, I will not be returning any time soon. I have to have a gluten free diet, the cashier was totally unhelpful and seemed annoyed. But that wasn't part of the bad experience. The Caeser salad I ordered without croutons came with barely no dressing at all and absolutely no Asiago cheese. The cup of tomato soup, was horrible. It wasn't even filled, and it burned my throat. Not that it was overly hot, just something was off with it. The overall cleanliness of the restaurant was just enough to never return again, even besides the bad food part. The restaurant smelled, really bad. Near the drinks, the smell was so bad I nearly vomited and I'm not a person with a weak stomach. Btw, the sierra mist and dr pepper both tasted like club soda. After ordering a turkey avocado BLT and a soup I was given a pager to wait for my food. After 25 minutes I went to the desk and they told me that they we're call and calling but I didn't come. I told them that the pager didn't go off and they said that some don't work and to put it in the basket with the other ones (that worked!!). I asked for hot soup and I was told to bus my own soup since they couldn't take it over the counter. I asked to speak to the manager and the person behind the counter told me that she was the manager, but them someone else stepped up to take the soups and I was given hot soup. I then noticed that the avocado had gone bad! I had a little of the soup but decided to eat somewhere else. The food is normally good, but I was made to feel that it was my fault!!!! In the last few months I have gone to this location (which is not close to my house) to get a breakfast bagel sandwich around 8-9am... Only to be told they were out of bagels. This has happened 3 different times!! How do you run out of bagels a few hours after opening? That sounds like poor food planning and it is completely unacceptable considering they are open all day!! read more

This Panera needs a broom, a mop, a sponge and some bleach. This is the second Panera that I have been to that has been filthy. I'm guessing franchise standards have changed. Terrible experience. Order Online for Rapid Pick-Up! Only it's not rapid, it's not too friendly, and it's been incomplete or wrong three times now. My wife had a hankering for a bagel this morning. Since there is NO OTHER BREAKFAST PLACE in the Avenues complex, I was forced to go to Panera. I'm a busy guy, and there's always a line, so I tried Panera's Rapid Pick-Up for the third time. The first two times were disastrous - we ended up with someone else's orders both times. Fortunately, we weren't home yet, so we went back to have them corrected. Orders are ALWAYS late - I have to wait in line to ask the cashier where my order is, then someone scrambles to check on it, only to find out no one has started it yet. This time was exactly the same. Ordered at 10:11, promised it would be ready at 10:22, and nowhere to be found at 10:31. Finally left around 10:40, one sandwich short. I made the mistake of not checking the bag that was rushed to me by some overworked 16-year-old with an attitude problem. Get it together, kids. read more

I normally love Panera but stay away from this location. My husband went to get take out and I asked for my usual: corn chowder and a southwest chicken flatbread from the Pick 2 menu. As we approach the counter the manager is yelling from where you pick up your food back to the front counter to 86 fruit salad. Went here to get somewhere quiet so I could read my scuba diving book. I had a coupon for a free pastry, but they were already out of half of their pastries at 730. I didn't get my cinnamon roll but the cherry pastry and the chicken noodle soup was good. I'm giving it 3 stars since a few of the employees were a little rude and towards the end of my stay was very very unpleasant. Around 930 the place was empty. 2 little girls came in and of all places they choose to be loud and horse around its in the little section I'm in. I have often visited this Panera Bread, and never have I been disappointed. I live nearby, but not close enough to go regularly. The establishment has a warm and inviting atmosphere, not only displayed from the employees, but by the sunlight shining in from the windows all around the store. I generally always get the broccoli and cheddar soup with a cookie, but it's always warm and tasty and I never have to wait more than about ten minutes, even on busy weekend lunch rushes. The prices are just slightly more than one would expect, but the food is worth it. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, and chain really, to anyone and everyone. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurant in Viera. This is my second bad experience here, and I haven't decided if I will go for a third. I'm not sure where the managers are, but the employees are out of control in their playing behind the counter. Extremely loud conversations and laughing. The food is suffering in quality as well. The chicken was almost frozen on my Caesar salad. The worst in that they left the bread off of my order. I went back up to the counter for the bread. Two different people looked at me like I was crazy, and a third grabbed a baguette and tore a piece off to hand to me. No plate or napkin. I would give it less if I could ... This place is a joke. For the amount they charge you for food there should at least be something in your sandwich. Ordered tomato mozzarella flat bread and received three arugula leaves, a tiny slice of tomato and a piece of mozzarella so tiny it barely made one whole bite of the sandwich. This Panera is just ok compared to others I've been to outside of Florida. When they close at 9:30, they start shutting down at 8. If you want something other than a fountain drink after 8, you get some heavy sighs because the machines have been broken down. If you eat in after 8 and happen to be parked out front, the delivery truck kindly blocks you in for at least 20-30 minutes - awesome. The food has been ok, but I've seen quite a bit more brown, slimy lettuce in my salads from this particular location; more than other places. If you get a bagel sliced in half, be prepared for it to be sliced vertically instead of horizontally, making it impossible to toast. Yes, that really happened here, but I didn't realize it until the next morning when I went to toast the bagel. I have experienced the feeling of "ugh, people coming in after 8 PM we want to close early and go home" but no one has been downright rude yet. I'll keep going here when I'm craving a salad & soup, but no more sliced bagels! read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! I went to the Viera location last week, and was double charged! If you use a card at Panera check your bank account because there system allows you to be charged multiple times. On the quest for something near healthy for breakfast, we went to this Panera. Ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches and 2 lattes. We also bought 2 extra plain bagels to go as well. Cost was $26.95 (we tipped a bit so it was $30 for 2 breakfast sandwiches and coffees). Sandwich was just fast food type egg and sausage patty on bagel. Not very interesting. Bagels are not authentic, just bread shaped round with hole in middle. Lattes made with one button machine, then lots of some liquid creamer/sweeter added like coffee-mate and then lots of whipped cream (1000 calories per serving). When factoring the employee service, seating and food quality, its more of a fast food place with the cost of fast casual. By the looks, I think the main thing here best is the baked bread/pastry to go or afternoon basic small coffee with a slice cake and lots of chatting with friends at a very small table (kind of like the old coffee shops). Anything else and your wallet will be sorry. read more

Panera in Viera WAS a fabulous place to eat good food and have conversations with friends or family. Now, it is an annoying atmosphere because of the background music. It is loud and looped and reminds me of shopping at Kohls. Bring back the previous pleasant music or my frinds and i will be finding another place to meet and greet. read more

My family went to the Panera bread today. About an hour ago the food was horrible the place was Filthy. The tables had food on them there was a man in there he stunk bad. Like he didn't have a shower for a while. The bathroom was filthy no paper towels there was piss all over the toilet in the ladies bathroom it stunk like Popeyes in Merritt Island like sewer water. That is how the ladies bathroom smelled like. Also the drink machine was nasty where u put your drink down there was sticky stuff all over the counter. The place smelled horrible. So my husband and I are out side where the nasty crows eat ate. Really number 1 the place is very expensive and I like the food I don't mind paying a little extra for nice clean place but not at this panera bread. This is my first time ever saying anything about panera bread but this place is nasty. No more if I go to one it will be In Orlando that one I no is ALOT cleaner. Thanks the one in Viera. Like I said it's nasty on the inside n out but what does the back look like where they prep our food. Think about that one while you go there and eat. Not me not more. Panera seems to have really reduced their menu and eliminated most of their meatless/vegetarian options. Everything is full of chicken. No more noodle bowls or tomato and mozzarella panini. For a soup and sandwich place, I would expect better options. read more
