Today was a great experience at Panera. The last few times have been awful but we still try to give this place a chance and today was a completely different experience. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by staff. When we placed our order, Nicole was very patient with my mom (76 years young) and answered many questions. She offered some great tips about the food...the food was amazing! I have no idea what is going on...everything was on point! Did I mention that the place was clean...huge surprise! I hope Panera keeps up what they are doing...we will be back! read more

Shame on you, Panera bread in La Cañada. I ordered 2 bread bowl soups. What arrived was nothing like that it was three pieces of random bread thrown in the bag with two bowls of soup when I called Panera in La Canada, I spoke with their manager Edwin who said it's not their problem. The driver didn't speak English so he couldn't tell him to relate a message to me Stating that they were completely out of bread bowls a simple phone call would have excuse the situation the saddest part was is that Edwin the manager had this more or less oh well not my problem kind of attitude. Why in the hell do we order kids these days? If I could give zero stars, I would. Now I know if I want Panera I could just go to the one in Hastings Ranch, where they actually pay attention and the customer service is actual customer service. read more

The bad service, changes of recipes that have destroyed the quality of food, and a major catering mistake in which the number of bagels that were made right was 4 out of 13 blemished this Panera Bread experience. If you have read many of my recent reviews. I am I my Panera era. Never been to this one, so decided to try another new location. I ordered my food as I normally do on the app, went to pick it up and realized I ordered to the Anaheim location I was at the day before. My mistake 100%, but they were so nice. Told me to call the other location to cancel it and replace the order for their location. Did just that and the cancelled it without issue, refunded me and I replaced the order and I was good to go. Thank you very much for taking care of it, even though it was totally my fault, great service. Got my normal order, Ranch Cobb with chicken, sub green goddess dressing, apple, drink and some Asiago bagels for later. Yum! I really like the La Cañada Flintridge area and this location seems newer and is nice inside, clean, lots of seating inside and out, great spot for working lunch or whenever. Parking was hard to find. No handicapped spots available so mu poor 90 year old mother had to walk far in the heat. Ordered two new sandwiches from the Mix and match menu. Took only a few minutes for our food to come out. Went to eat it and it was so dry I was not happy. The bread was dry and had a tiny bit of sauce. The bacon and meat and cheese was cold. Same with my mom's. I went to the counter where the chefs are and said our sandwiches are very dry may we have more sauce and she said sure. After we finished I said I have never had such a dry tasteless sandwich here and was disappointed. I noticed a man ( maybe a manager) on our way out alone at the register and said "Might I recommend the Mix and Match half sandwiches be toasted as our sandwiches were on bread that was so dry that I almost choked. He said those sandwiches are supposed to be cooked and bread toasted. I said I thought so as the picture over his shoulder they looked toasted ans cheese melted. He didnt offer us anything or say he was sorry that happened or offer us a free dessert or a coupon for future visits and so I was quite disappointed. Theu need to teach their chefs what to do with the main deals of the week! Ans if something isn't right like not enough sauce (as ours was) and not even hot (which it was supposed to be) something should have been offered as restitution. I will not be coming back here for a long time. Too bad as I have given them great reviews in the past. My very good friend had me choose where to eat lunch today. I chose Panera because I have never been to one. Yes, I guess I kinda live under a rock. It's located in a fun shopping center that has a Target and Homegoods nearby. We both chose salads, the full-size ones. They were chicken Mediterranean and grain salads. I gotta say it was delicious and I ate the whole bowl. The dressing was the perfect touch and the chicken was plentiful. My very slender friend fasts daily so she ate hers very quickly. I chose ice tea and it's all-you-can-drink, which I appreciated because I was thirsty after our walk in nearby Descanso Gardens. Parking is huge and organized. It's casual and friendly here. I saw people eating the half sandwich and soup meal, which looked scrumptious, so that's what I'm ordering next time I'm back. Their breads and baked goods look wonderful, but they will have to wait. I dropped in for a pickup for a wedding party. It was BIG order - they gave me a HUGE bag to carry the food in. I had their Spicy Italian with chips and a soft drink. It was served hot, was spicy and tasted good. It really hit the spot. The food was ready on time. There are a few spaces for pick up orders - use them for such tasks. From what I could see during my walk in, the restaurant was clean. To pick up orders, you go to the pick up location where you would usually pick up your food, which makes sense. read more

Went to Panera on a Saturday at 10:44 am and all the bagels were gone. How can a bread place not make enough bagels for a Saturday morning? I'm sure they have a weekly idea of how many bagels they sell. We've been to this location of Panera Bread a number of times. The last visit wasn't the best we've experienced there. Felt like they were tired of trying to keep a consistently positive offering, and were giving up. The cashier was very friendly, and tried to be helpful. They usually do have good customer service at the ordering station. Where the let downs came were that many of the food items were already sold out. I'd been snacking at an event at Descanso Gardens, so didn't want anything heavy. Would have been happy with a bowl of soup. Sadly, everything non-dairy was long gone. I ended up ordering a non-dairy smoothie. Not the same thing. We had Sweet Granddaughter with us, who was craving mac & cheese. That was accomplished, but what a shocking small portion for $7.29! It did come with a small sleeve of yogurt, but no beverage. I was shaking my head when I realized what we'd paid and what we got for it. Dear Hubby was hungry, so he ordered Chicken & Pepperoni Mozzarella Melt - Stacked Toasted Baguette on the Pick 2 menu, not realizing that the Melt alone was over $13. Then his second choice soup (they were out of chili) was almost $7 for a cup. He got a "deal" on a bear claw. Still, I didn't have anything other than the smoothie, and an adult meal and a kids meal, plus one pastry ended up being almost $50. Makes one want to only cook at home any more. I realize food prices are up / labor is up. But dang, for $50 it would be nice to feel like the restaurant cared about what they were providing. The carpeted floors needed to be cleaned throughout the place. Some of the tabletops needed attention, as well. The location just felt careworn; in need of a refresh. If we go again, we would be sure we have a coupon or other deal first, because the cost isn't in alignment with the value. read more

So the next step was Panera in La Canada. Ahhh, best decision ever! Food: 5/5 The food was amazing, in all honesty. I've had the worst luck at multiple Panera's, which really sucks because when it's cold there's nothing like a good soup, and when it's hot there's nothing like a fresh salad. My niece and nephew are very picky, and even they liked the food! The bread bowls were delicious, fresh, soft, with crispy edges. Yum. The Mac and everything was just delicious, honestly. Price: 4.5/5 I felt $52.00 for 3 is a bit pricy, but in all honesty that's just what it cost to go out to eat now. The bowls were about 12.00 Ea, drinks, and salad it somehow all was 50+. In my opinion, most if it was worth the price! I wish they had a reward system with the amount you spend/ points lol Service: 5/5 They're so incredibly nice here! Where else can you get soup in a bread bowl!? Panera does a great job with their French onion soup. I loved it in the bread bowl! I actually had no idea bread bowls were on their menu until now and am pleasantly surprised. Their passion papaya green tea is really good too. I liked mixing it with some of their agave lemonade and you can add water if it's too sweet for you. The only thing I would ask them to improve on is there home style chicken soup. It literally looks like they opened a can of Progresso and dumped it into a bowl! Please use fresh chicken...when I make chicken soup it does not look like that weird pinkish tinge canned soup stuff and yet theirs has that same weird look. read more

you know, the thing about Panera bread is that their food is actually really good and their soups are very underrated, this is especially true If you live in an area that does not have a lot of places that offer a variety of decent soups. the issue with the Panera bread chain is that they are very badly managed and very horrible at executing their customer service and their employees throughout almost all of their locations anyways, at this location specifically I ended up getting the hot Italiano sandwich with a broccoli and cheddar soup and it was pretty good. the issue was that I waited roughly 15 minutes to order my food, even though I was the next person in line. It seemed like there was an abundance of employees, just walking around some of which did not seem to be doing anything, but there was only one person taking orders upfront. that would've been fine too, except he was also multitasking and doing other things mid order (not just cutting the bread). they do offer a self checkout monitor at the front as well, but there was a huge line behind me and the monitor seemed occupied by another guest for just as long. oh, and it's also worthy to mention that if you need somewhere to sit down and study, then this might be a good place (if you don't mind people and some background noise). read more

Keep in mind we've eaten at many Paneras but after this visit may not ever again . After a hefty 50+ dollar tab everything we got was not good in some way right down to the drinks . Service was very slow with hardly any pastry to choose from and when the asked if they had any fresher in the back I was told " this is what we have " at 4:45pm on a Thursday? Okay . The tea dispensary was so dirty I should have went with my gut but I tried the tea in spite of my better judgement . It tasted very old and bitter and was extremely cloudy not what ice tea should be . As for the other options of Panera's usually amazing drinks ? There were small pitchers of everything with stickers on them clearly staying they should have been poured out 2 hours ago. So that was a no go for us as well. The veggie sandwich I got had tomatoes that had a bit of a sour odor to them and looked old and my husbands soup wasn't soup it was basically the thickness of mashed potatoes and begged for more liquid to actually make it a soup. The other person in our party did love the Mac n cheese but they got his salad wrong and we were just done at that point and didn't even bother letting the woman with the green shirt and tattoos know because she rolled her eyes when we asked for fresher tea. A live bug crawled out of my salad as I was eating it. (No, I did not order extra protein) The bug was under the chicken and as I was munching on my chicken, and used my fork to grab some more veggie, the bug slowly crawled out of my salad and hung out on the edge of the bowl. the Panera bread in the la canada town center is NOTTT the place anymore. i use to come to this panera bread way before covid and it was sooo goooood. those were the days when they would bring the food to your table. miss that. i don't like that we have to go and pick up our food from the counter and bring it to our own table. once covid came around, im not too sure what happened.. if the owners just stopped carring but the food is NOTTT IT anymoreee! the photos that they are advertising is such catfish. your food looks nothing like the photo nor does it taste good. their sandwiches literally look like the type you can make at home. nothing special. the salads don't taste the same anymore. their salads is not fresh. it's bad. they throw everything in the bowl without properly placing the ingredients. why am i getting a block of chicken slices in my salad? shouldn't the person who was preparing my food place the chicken in my salad individually. What happened to Old, good Panera!!!! The amount of tuna in this sandwich makes me feel cheated. Panera used to make very good-sized sandwiches--not too big, not too small--with a good amount of meat. Not anymore! The manager of this location helped us distribute the orders and was so attentive especially when we had an incident (unrelated to staff) with one of our group members. I would LOVE this Panera Bread location more, if they didn't mess up on orders so frequently! Something is always missing. Turkey BLT and "NO BACON" or Salad and "NO salad dressing"; or a missing sandwich or two - double check your order is all I can say! Smh. Otherwise, this location is cool. There was a bug in my food the service is horrible and it smells in there dont recommend

Horrible experience. Got HOT coffee spilled on me by a CARELESS store assistant manager John. Even worse he denied he spilled the hot coffee on my arm when he handed it to me, towering over me (and getting too close too....) -- a simple "sorry" and napkins to wipe my burning from YOU SPILLING HOT COFFEE on me would have suffice. Nope. He had to keep denying THREE times. I stared incredulously at him... at a loss for words. I had to ASK for paper napkins to wipe my wet top while my arm was still stinging from the hot coffee spill. Unbelievable. I called and reported this incident to customer service as soon as I drove away. A couple hours later, Lynn the GM of this Panera location called and left me a voicemail. I called her back but all she wanted was for me to tell her in details what happened. I politely told her all the details has been written up in the incident report filed earlier that morning. She had no other questions for me and hung up. I've not heard back from her about any follow up nor any resolution on this incident. I emailed Panera customer support but they told me they cannot share anything with me other than they would deal with it properly. I did notice a few days later, an email sent out by Panera: We're updating our Terms of Use. This update provides that any disputes must be resolved through arbitration and includes other changes. Please review these new terms here before they take effect on March 15, 2021. Hmm. Interesting. Super disappointed with how this was handled in store as well as the non existent follow up. Definitely don't feel like Panera care about me as a loyal customer. My 2 cents. read more

Came in to order dinner with my family, lady standing there cleaning buzzers sees us and doesn't even offer to help us . We prefer to pay in cash but had to use the self order computer where you can only use a card for your payment. As soon as we paid she offered to help the next person that walked through the door . Very unprofessional and to think they even have a tip jar up on the counter for what ? For doing things yourself . Probably will be the last time eating at this place . read more

I've ordered twice from this Panera Bread through their app. First time they couldn't find my order but I think that was just a minor misunderstanding but today when I arrived to pick up my order part of it was missing were they gave it away. I'm not sure but they were very gracious in trying to make it up to me by giving me some free pastries. I called Panera and spoke to a manager and after apologizing they guaranteed me that next time I came in they would like to comp my meal. If you want something fast but healthy, this is the best place to go! I love eating here any time of day, they have the best breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. While there are so many good things on their menu, I'll only list a few of my favorites. The one thing I get every single time is the vegetarian creamy Tomato soup. It is the best tomato soup I have ever had, and I am very picky about my tomato soup. Eat this soup with their fresh baked bread and it is the perfect meal. When it's in season, the strawberry poppy seed salad is AMAZING! It has strawberries, blueberries, mandarin oranges, pineapples, pecans, and chicken with sweet poppyseed dressing.
