We prefer to pay in cash but had to use the self order computer where you can only use a card for your payment. As soon as we paid she offered to help the next person that walked through the door . I've ordered twice from this Panera Bread through their app. First time they couldn't find my order but I think that was just a minor misunderstanding but today when I arrived to pick up my order part of it was missing were they gave it away. If you want something fast but healthy, this is the best place to go! I love eating here any time of day, they have the best breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. While there are so many good things on their menu, I'll only list a few of my favorites. The one thing I get every single time is the vegetarian creamy Tomato soup. It is the best tomato soup I have ever had, and I am very picky about my tomato soup. Eat this soup with their fresh baked bread and it is the perfect meal. When it's in season, the strawberry poppy seed salad is AMAZING! It has strawberries, blueberries, mandarin oranges, pineapples, pecans, and chicken with sweet poppyseed dressing. I enjoy Panera both for their delicious, prepared to your order meals, as well and the ability to use my laptop while eating. I always respect this privilege by ordering food and packing up and leaving during their peak hours. I came to the La Canada location for breakfast, and gave the cashier my rewards #. Apparently the number was entered incorrectly as my order was labeled 'Michelle' instead of 'Max'. The only 'Michele' I can think of is a childhood friend in Texas, and as far as I know she doesn't need to tag onto my Panera rewards. I got a reprint of my receipt and went to correct the issue online. Except that Panera dot com asks for a 22 digit code 'printed at the bottom of your receipt' that doesn't exist. Panera corporate needs to make this far simpler for their store-line associates and customers. I have trained 100's of people in register and customer service skills and I'm stunned Panera, which has above-the-average service to miss this. Fortunately, the cashier hooked me up with Lizbeth, the Team Manager and she took care of the situation. She was extremely apologetic, calm and efficient. It was so impossibly tough to chew, I had to wrap it in foil and sprinkle water on it to soften it up enough to eat it. Three of us stopped in for a late breakfast, but they'd already switched over to lunch. Whatever. When we got our food, three of the items didn't appear to be what we ordered. We asked the manager walking around about getting the correct items. She, with a bit of attitude, checked our receipt and said that we had what we ordered. Apparently, they've changed how they prepare many of their items. Okay, except now they're horrible. Instead of sliced turkey in the sandwich, it's now big chunks that just fall out. The Baja mac and cheese no longer has pico de gallo, it's now a gross creamy verde sauce. Also, check your bagels before you leave. We ordered a dozen on our way out for an afternoon meeting. I'm shocked at how low the ratings here are because this is the location that sold me on Panera Bread. I had never been here, and my best friend insisted that I come with him. Long story short, I came, I tried, and I LOVED. First, the service is AMAZING. Everyone is friendly and accommodating - a few times, they would go out of their way to make sure I have the best experience possible. I'll have to come back with the names of some their particularly awesome employees. Second, the food is always delicious! And if there's a problem, they'll fix it right away. I love their Green Goddess Cobb Salad! Third, the ambience is great for studying or talking. You'll find an assortment of folks here - people studying, catching up, or just relaxing. It's not too loud or quiet. If you're going to go to any Panera Bread, this is the one. What ​ happened to this place? I was here on 1/9/24 at 12:15 the people in the kitchen are so unprofessional. The big woman with glasses was rude, loud, and unprofessional. I asked for the extra sauce I paid for and she just ​threw it on the counter! Earlier she was cackling and being loud and unprofessional! However, this doesn't surprise me. The boss lady is RUDE and Curt! Maybe if she was professional then they would follow... Also, the guy ​ changing the garbage bags does not have ​common sense! He put the bags and trash next to the couple that was sitting having a meal. He spilled fluids on the floor when he was changing the bags and he did not mop it up. Every time I come here I remember why I never come here. Food is bland. Prices have gotten humorously high. Portions are small. Their bags of chips are just silly in how few chips are inside. Soups are pre-portioned to ensure they don't fill the bowl and have as few noodles as possible (in the chicken soup). Panera is an excellent example of greedy chain restaurants gone bad. Panera Bread is always a consistent experience. The menu seems to be on the expensive side (for what you get) but the food is about average. The workers are quite nice, but it is hit or miss with who you get. Panera seems to be pushing ordering through the app a lot, which will decrease the interaction with the staff. I usually get a sandwich. However, last week, I felt like trying a flat bread, but unfortunately they were all of of flat bread. I'm not really sure how that happens when the menu is as limited as it is. Since this is a bakery, can't they just make more flatbread? Poor order management. Service is average speed and I usually take my orders to go. A suggestion is to buy some gift cards through Card Cash, that are usually about 25% off. That makes Panera to be closer to what the price should be. My wife has tried quite a few of the soups and is usually happy with them. I would suggest that soups and sandwiches are your best bet here. I would like to comment on the flat bread, but for the reasons noted above, I can't :-( read more

I've been a regular for years now. Always friendly staff and never got my order wrong. Super friendly as you walk in and out. Definitely miss dining in here due to COVID but their to-go system is like a well oiled machine. Some people don't like the taste of their Colombian coffee but it's fine for me. I would recommend getting food and drinks from here, it's not nasty like the one in Downtown Glendale. The drinks there are always old and disgusting tasting. He helps me out, he makes sure every guest gets their order. I wish the one by my movie theatre in the Americana was this satisfactory. Especially since the ones in Burbank got closed down, this is literally the only one you can go to that's close by, or Pasadena. Food is good but they need to be more cautious of what goes into their salads. We got a big piece of lettuce core in our Caesar salad.

On our way back from Pasadena, we wanted to grab a quick bite to eat before home, so we stopped here. We decided to order off the tablet, as there was a long line when we walked in. Place was packed, but there was places to sit. Except every table was messy, and hadn't been cleaned. When ordering, I customized my order to a few specific things I wanted on my sandwich. It was pretty quick and easy to do such that, however when I received our food my order was wrong. I didn't notice it until I bit into my sandwich. I asked for them to remove the bell peppers and add spinach instead, they didn't do that. I was looking for someone to help me but no employees were around. Overall, don't order off the tablet to beat the line, apparently the meal preps in the back don't read your specific instructions on your order and just make what they want. read more

They have a lot of staff in kitchen and expediting food, but usually only one person on register. Line gets long, but if you use the iPad, it'll come fast. They never screw up my order. Always right. The only reason for two starts is it next to my errands and has parking. I ordered a chicken salad as you can see there is 0 chicken and a bunch of lettuce. You also get a pieces of bread and when you ask a plastic fork so you do not need to use your fingers. Strangely they gave me a knife. Checking out Panera Bread, I noticed the self serve ordering kiosks right away. This is super convenient when using a credit card. It's always busy during lunch and today was no different. I was using cash so I had to wait in the long line with one cashier. But right away they opened up 2 additional registers. Today I decided on a half Turkey Club and a Spicy Thai chicken salad and decided to eat there. It seem that eating in the portions are much more pleasant. Actually, it's probably the same, just smashed in to the little box when you order t to go. The salad was tasty and light. I really enjoyed the spice and flavor. It tasted more Thai then the local Thai resturaunt. My Turkey club was excellent too. Nice big chucks of avocado and the bread was soft and sweet. I only wished that there was more bacon and the bacon was crisper. It always amazes me how poorly places cook bacon. Good, fast food and great service. I came here on a Saturday afternoon with my sister to grab a quick bite to eat. We both got the You Pick Two option. I chose the turkey BLT and she got the panini. We both chose caesar salad without chicken as the second thing. It comes with chips, bread, or an apple - we got the chips and the bread. The food came out quickly. They bought it to our table - outdoor tables have a cool sensor thing where you place your buzzer so they know where you are. The turkey BLT was fabulous. I have been going to this Panera since it opened. Our kids have gone there for years and studied. We take my dad for lunch there. We have an account so our kids can just go by and get food on the kiosk. But today, Albert the manager decided to be a real a$$ and decide Panera is fine dining or something and told our kids they were overstaying their welcome. (kids are high school seniors studying for finals). Yes, her group bought food. A salad, drinks, and cookies. But Albert was harassing them and moving kids back packs and hovering of them. We called and spoke to Albert and he was whining that "they brought in food from other restaurants". They absolutely did not. How does Panera, in a community that people live in for the schools, (meaning there will be a lot of kids) have a manager that is this ANTI teenager. He was rude to our kid and their friends and he was rude to me when I called. I asked if he would rather them to go Starbucks and he said yes. Are you kidding me? I come here after my therapy appointment usually. Very serene environment, lovely employees and the people that sit around are always very considerate and polite. La Canada is one of the most small town feeling cities with really polite people anyway. So lovely here. This Panera is always busy but the food is really good. Has a nice eating area outside that's always quiet. Plenty of free parking and other shops to go to. Their food is always tasty and better than fast food. I will say it is over priced. A half a sandwich was $6. My meal of the you pick two(half a sandwich and small salad), an iced latte and a cookie came out to $17. Very bad experience at this location! If you plan on ordering more than 100 bucks, beaware because they will tell you " You ordered too much" and make you feel like you did something wrong. My pick up time was 6:35pm for my online order. I show up at 6:25pm and I don't see my name on the monitor anywhere. At 6:35pm, I asked one staff and was told "they are backed up". Sure, it happens. I am seeing many people ordering after I get there and they get their order. Do I see my naMe on the monitor? NO! At 6:50pm, I asked another staff and was told the same thing. 7:10pm comes and I still don't see my name so I go up again to a staff and then this guy with red shirt comes and looks at my email with order details and says, "you ordered too much, your name won't show up on the monitor" What do you mean I ordered too much? Where is instructions that if I "ordered too much" your name don't show up? My order email clearly says "please find your order on the Rapid pick up shelf in the cafe" guy with red shirt probably was a store manager or something and he clearly gave me an impression that I did something wrong by ordering more than 100. On the plus side, great healthy food menu. However do not trust the 'buy $50 and get $10 credit. They practice deceptive advertising. The company is quick to charge you $50, and then sends a '$10' gift card, that : 1. You cannot access for 2 weeks and 2. Expires, in only 30 days. It is also very hard to redeem and activate these 'bonus' gift cards. Therefore I would stay away from ANY of Panera Bread promotions. read more
