Tried Blaze Pizza for the first time yesterday with my boyfriend and overall, it was a pretty solid experience. If you've never been, it's very much Chipotle-style but for pizza. You choose your dough, sauce, and toppings, and they fire it up fresh in their oven. The bake time was actually super quick, which was great because we were pretty hungry when we arrived. We decided to go with one of their signature pizzas, the Blazed BBQ, and I asked for no jalapeños with ranch on the side. We also ordered their original cheese bread. Nothing really blew me away flavor-wise, but everything tasted good and did exactly what it needed to do. The pizza was decent, filling, and satisfying, and the cheese bread with marinara was definitely a plus. It ended up being a great lunch date spot. My only small critique is that the store itself felt a bit messy. Nothing unsanitary at all, just crumbs on the tables and some noticeable marks on the walls. Other than that, no real complaints. I should have read the reviews before stopping by. The negative reviews about the service are spot on but now they've gone the opposite direction. Lethargic, ambivalent, slow, disinterested. When placing toppings the young lady was extremely stingy and erratic - toppings some places but none in other places. I think there were 3 employees. They looked miserable. Tuesday 12/30/25 - 1900 Hours. I really love this pizza. Been coming here for some years now. I don't enjoy leaving a bad review, but this is for the staff. While waiting in line to be assisted, you can see the laughter between multiple workers. You just wait till they are finished with their conversations, then they will assist you. Yes your nose animal looking piercing is cool. I guess they acknowledge me now. The young gentleman is sweating while he receives the commands from the girls who have time to chat. Multiple Customers stop to ask cook for the restroom password, some for a bag, parmesan cheese, crushed pepper, lids, napkins etc... I get blaze pizza very frequently and I stopped by at this location and it was extremely messy. All the counters had toppings everywhere. The teen that took my order got mozzarella on everything and it landed in all the sauces and all over the counter. Every time we asked for a topping he would sprinkle it all over the counter then proceeded to WIPE THE COUNTER WITH HIS HANDS AND THEN PLACED THOSE COUNTER TOPPINGS BACK INTO THE BOXES OR WORSE, ONTO MY PIZZAS!!!! We've dined here numerous times and enjoy the build your own process. Our last visit yesterday was disappointing. The staff seemed more interested in interacting with each other than with their customers. We each did end up with a pizza built to our liking except due to the staff person tending the oven and his ongoing conversations, my wife's pizza crust was overdone and somewhat burnt. Rather than return it and wait, she decided to eat what she could. Also of note, while we dined there, we noticed that that floor of the restaurant was littered with pizza and used napkins. During the 45 minutes we were there, no employee came to do any housekeeping. When we left, I decided to use the restroom and that was enlightening. The restroom was dirty, messy and unkempt. Seeing how the staff seemed unsupervised, it's no wonder we experienced what we did yesterday. This will probably be our last visit to Blaze in La Canada. read more

I do wish they had fries as one of the toppings , it's really hard to find a pizza places that have French fries or potato's as pizza toppings. I ordered in advance for work's lunch break and I showed up a few minutes later to give them some extra time. Pizza wasn't even in the oven when I arrived. Young lady advise she can get it done in 7 minutes or so. I would still need time to eat after and I still had to wait for it to bake. Exactly three months ago I had a bad experience at this Blaze location. Large pizzas ordered through the app were extremely skimpy on toppings, with dry spots visible all over the crust, and big areas with sauce only but no cheese or toppings. Restaurant employees claimed their management had implemented mandatory portion control where they could only use so much cheese, etc. on a pizza. Today, I gave them another chance. Again, the pizza was skimpy on toppings and only a tiny handful of cheese was spread over a large sized pizza. See this pizza and play "find the cheese." I recommend avoiding this restaurant location unless and until it comes under new ownership. Food is ALWAYS amazing as always be be aware of the iced tea .. it always smells like mold and I have notified the staff almost everytime I have come here. It would be better if they just stopped serving the ice tea because I don't think the staff cleans the container, but just adds more powder and water which causes mold to grow and smell up the container. Just left this Blaze. This place is amazing!!!!! The staff is awesome, hard working and on point. Their teamwork was impeccable. I was greeted (even though I'm sure they were making like 1000000 pizzas) they got to work on my pizza right away even though they were super slammed. The staff was friendly and fast.
