I can never go wrong with a cup of brocoli cheddar soup, a turkey sandwich and a side of fresh bread. This 99.9% of the time is also accompanied with a sit down chat with either a very good friend or my mom (who is also a very good friend. ha) I can't help associating Panera with a time to relax and catch up with someone very dear to me. The best part about this place is that I can count on it being good wherever my heart leads me. I have yet to find a town that downplays Panera's wonderful food selection. I got a frozen mocha drink and when I got it and looked into it there were many, many pieces of paper throughout the drink. I couldn't take a sip without getting a bunch of paper in my mouth. They must have dropped a piece of paper in the blender or something. Now I have a bunch of paper in my mouth and that was a waste of $5. read more

Sometimes I forget about my local Panera Bread. But on this night I was craving some broccoli cheddar soup, and decided this old favorite would be a great idea. This location is clean and staff are friendly. It's conveniently located near Ivy Tech and DFAS, so with free WiFi available, there's always a few people scattered around with laptops, and a single girl like me eating dinner alone doesn't raise any eyebrows...I just fit right in! I decided to try the green goddess salad with chicken. Soooo glad I did. I'm going back for a full size this week just because I loved it that much! Of course my tried and true soup was great, as I knew it would be. I made note of their flavored teas, definitely trying next time. I did not get a text message from the driver that the food was close to being delivered! the driver left my food OUTSIDE on the GROUND! I am not happy about that at all! very tacky and disrespectful! I find Panera to be a good place for me to meet up with acquaintances or business contacts. Decent food, free Wi-Fi, and they don't mind if you sit there a bit too long after you finish your food. I didn't know this, but if you have their loyalty card, you get a birthday freebie! I went in planning to order a smoothie while I discussed some school business with another mom, but ended up getting a cinnamon scone after my cashier reminded me to use it or lose it. I used the app and ordered for delivery for between 5:15-5:30. I got a notification at 5:30 that it was on its way but when I tracked it that's when they started making our order. It wasn't delivered until 6:00. We were okay with that but then we got our food my husbands dressing was spilled all over our bag, my potato soup was cold and they ignored my personalization of my sandwich (which was just omitting two toppings). Then we called to complain/report what had happened and were unable to get through to the store when no one would answer and a dial tone happened. So I took to the Panera website and there is no option to send concerns at this time because they are working on their website. We have had some issues in the past with this establishment but honestly this is by far the worst and has left a very sour taste in our mouths! read more

The food here was good as always, but we won't be going back. Cashier who took our order didn't give us an RFID alert, but took our names. We were seated quite awhile when I decided to check out why our name hadn't been called. Our food was ready and sitting there, in spite of a hostess and two servers right there. This is a pretty standard Panera. I have been here several times and have not seen it overly crowded or had a problem finding a seat. The service is friendly and the food comes together pretty quickly. All in all, I'd say this is a great Panera. This Panera is less than a mile away from my office building. Our main entrance is on the same street. They deliver to us daily. And yet, despite all that and the fact that the driver said he'd been here before "several times", it took him 51 MINUTES to deliver our lunch for 3 people! They have a "Track The Driver" GPS link, so we watched him go from Panera, past our building, around the block, stop in the parking lot, go around the block the other way, back again, drive through our circle drive without stopping at the doors, then go BACK to Panera! I tried texting the number they sent that was supposed to be him... no answer. I called it, got the "the number you dialed is not available" message. I called Panera, got an automated outgoing message about their great food and if you want ti speak to a manager press 5. I pressed 5, and got an automated message that said that the manager is too busy to talk to anyone during lunch hours. We'd first gotten an email and text at 11:14am that the driver was on his was. He FINALLY arrived at 12:05pm. Mumbled an apology, handed me a bag and scurried out the door. We had already gone over our half hour lunch break, but decided to just scarf down our food instead of go without. But, of course, the ORDER WAS WRONG. One salad was a completely different one than what was ordered, the other didn't have the hard boiled egg that I paid $0.99 extra for. I asked for some packets of margarine for those thick, dry rolls that come with the salads (it was printed on the receipt)... no margarine in the bag. I'm typically not the type to leave a negative review, but I felt that this just needed to be shared for the company maybe for training purposes for the management staff at this location. Ok, so I was off sick from work Monday and Tuesday and hadn't had anything to eat in over 36 hours. I finally got the gut to try and eat something so I figured, "hey why not some panera, it should be easy on my stomach and quick since it is located about a 3 minute walk from my apartment." But oh was I wrong...First, I put in the order at 11:04AM for a pick two salad and sandwich and receive the confirmation stating it would be ready by 11:34-11:44AM. A wait longer than expected, but I was ok with it nonetheless. At 11:49AM I recieve a call from "Ashley" the store manager stating she was about to leave to deliver the food and that the address was wrong in an extremely rude tone, At that point I am curious why it was never picked up when the order was put in, but nicely state the correct address and apologize for putting the wrong address in. So at this point, I get out of bed, (where I have been camped out for two days unable to move with the flu) and go sit on the couch waiting for a knock at the door. Finally at 12:08PM I call in with thinking that maybe "Ashley" got lost on the .3 mile drive to my apartment. She answers and I ask her if she knew when the food would arrive? She then stated that she had already come and knocked on the door...(which she hadn't since I was sitting on my couch next to the door the whole time). So I blow that off, at this time just aggravated with the lack of professionalism of the entire situation. I then ask her if she's sure she had the right apartment and she said that she had but left the food and my coffee on a chair on my back patio. I went to check and sure enough it was there. I then hung up almost in awe at the whole situation. So here are some ideas for how to alleviate this scenario from ever happening again. 1. If the customer doesn't answer the door, you have their number, don't just leave the food and not even tell the customer that it is there. I could have never known and my food gotten cold (which it was) or someone walked by and taken it. 2. TRAIN MANAGEMENT BETTER IN CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I work in the automotive industry as a Service Advisor, so I know the importance of surveys and how they better the employee, So I truly hope that this survey finds the right person and gets "Ashley" the manager at the Panera Bread on E. 56th Street the proper training on how to be a manager. I'm sure it isn't her fault maybe her trainer wasn't equipped with the proper tools to train her efficiently, or maybe she just feels above it all because she IS a manager but the customer needs to come first and that was not shown in this matter. Just sucks, I really do enjoy Panera Bread, and with this one being right down the road it's super convenient but unfortunately I will be spreading the word to business associates that this is one they will for sure want to be avoiding until under better management. Ordered a Cobb with Avocado to go. Looked in bag there was chips. Told them I'd prefer a baguette. They said they were out. This was 5:45! Got home no avocado, zilch. I received the absolute worst customer service of my entire life here. I went in with my son and a friend. My one year old dropped some food on the floor and in the middle of our meal this employee started sweeping the floor and even moved my son in his high chair to sweep under our feet. Later she looked at us and rolled her eyes. Three different times she swept under our feet while we were eating clearly trying to make sure we knew she was annoyed. Side note: I would have cleaned up after my son before leaving if she wasn't constantly sweeping. Then when leaving I said "thank you!" And she responded "You didn't even put up the damn high chair." Ordered the breakfast brioche with bacon, no egg, add spinach and tomatoes. The tomatoes were not fresh but the worst part was the bacon. One piece broken into three piecrs that nearly broke a tooth it was so overcooked. I've had better in a hospital cafeteria. I have had this sandwich before without alteration and it was good. This time, not good at all. And please can I have a bit more spinach. It's like they ration the food while charging $5 for .....what? Get it together or I am gone. You're too expensive to screw simple things up. Sad this is not my first unhappy experience. And since opening this location, my favorite go to chicken frontega sandwhich has changed. The bread had baked in onions, etc. There was an abundance of chicken with gooey cheese. Now it's half the awesome sandwich it once was. We are so happy that they started delivery and have had few problems. Yesterday's delivery started out as a big problem but the manager, Jorge' and his bakery manager handled it with genuine concern and professionalism! When I called and explained the problems, the manager not only gave me a great solution, he refunded my entire order ( even the parts that were good) and when my husband and I walked in the next morning, he had my fresh loaf of bread bagged and ready for me and gave us free coffee. I live across the street from this Panera and I really think it gives great service. Sometimes the lines get long and you still never have to wait . If you just want coffee someone usually asks and you can get though quickly. Great! I love the food here-meat hormone free as well. My favorite is the fuji apple salad and the tomato soup. Free wifi keeps me coming for work. Hazelnut coffee is the best. My husband buys it every day. read more
